Clean install for XP

My R61i starts very slowly, and I think to do a clean install of XP. I don't remember getting a drive when the machine was new, but have an OEM CD of XP Pro. I've not done this before, so I need a detailed instruction. Or is there a better way. Once the computer is booted, it still works pretty well. He should just never to boot to the top.

Hello dond.

For a new installation of XP, I would recommend to create the General of recovery, if you haven´t already.

You can check your startup time with a piece of software called soluto also.

Just google for it, it's free too.

This software you indicate which program needs as much time to load and you can turn off it is quiet simple.

Vijay has already written a blog post about it.

I think that's what it's called. You know, the one where he deletes everything? Yes, that one.

That's what I did for my HP Pavilion dv6t laptop when I've upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7. I think that this messed up some of my installed software and drivers.

I first noticed small issues (like when I raise or lower the volume, the animation does not come on the screen). Then I realized that my computer is not read or burn CDs, and the webcam is still not working properly when recording.

I tried the HP site and its driver updates and they did not seem to do anything for me. None of them seems to be specific to the problems I have in any case.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

I didn't say anything on bass and treble, about the animation volume screen that normally is supposed to happen.

In addition, my burner is now "not found".

And Yes, I bought my laptop directly from HP and they sent me the upgrade.

Also, I took a few screenshots that I've been through the process of troubleshooting HP. I'll put the links below.

  • Unable to get updates of Windows after cleaning installed.

    Inspiron 1720, Win7 Ultimate x 64

A clean installed today on a separate partition. Did not remove the existing installation of the same operating system by using the same key. The new facility will not download updates. C:\ shows many files from Windows.old. No matter what jump to anyone or is this Win10 Win10?

PS This switch to Win7 Professional would help the situation?

I should add that it is a slipstreamed SP1 version. I was able to get IE 11 installed without problem.

Theres been a few problems with Windows Update with Windows 7 clean install for these last months... You can use the WSUS Offline Update Patch Windows 7, after that Windows Update works.

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/WSUS-offline-update/

However since your goal is to make your system a Pro 10 Windows device. You better just download an .iso Windows 10 TH2 and pure install directly with your Windows 7 Ultimate product key:

  • Drivers for clean install win 10 for HP Pro 3400 Series

Updated my Win 7 Professional 64-bit of Windows 10. Now, I need to clean the re - install windows 10. My question is will I delete the partition D with front factory recovery software I own installation, and that I will need to download the HP website after drivers clean install?

There is no specific driver for Windows 10 for your PC.

You can download the Windows 7 and Windows 8 drivers and try to install in compatibility troublkeshoot mode.

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/readIndex?sp4ts.Oid=5159752&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4132

Choose Windows 7 as the previous operating system.

I tend to leave the intact recovery partition, that you may very well discover that the OS is more suited to your particular old gen Windows 7 PC.

  • What drivers to download for a clean install of Windows 7?

I'm working on a clean install of Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 on my HP Pavilion computer of bureau a6600f (originally there was Vista, now he has Windows 7 Ultimate). The machine is stable but really slow.

If I want to download the drivers and others, which is here. But I don't really know what are those who... just do each of them?

and then after installing Windows 7, I have just install these one by one?

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion a6600f. Based on the specifications, this model uses a nVidia Chipset nVidia Graphics, nVidia Network and Realtek HD Audio. If you have already done, I would update the BIOS first. I skip the installation of the HP drivers and go directly to the sites of the manufacturer for the latest drivers chipset.

nForce Driver v15.56 for Windows 7 64-bit (Ethernet, SATA/IDE, SMBUS, pilot EMS and Away Mode driver)

V307.83 GeForce Driver for Windows 7 64 bit (Graph)

Realtek HD Audio Driver for Windows (Tick 'Accept', click 'Next', years download location for 3rd item to the bottom of the list)

I think that your 'slowness' is due to the entry level Pentium E2200 CPU and only 3 GB of RAM. Consider one of the better microprocessors on the list and the upgrade to 4 GB RAM HP.

If you have a computer from a "direct OEMS" (e.g., Dell, HP, etc.), it is without doubt a restore hidden on the hard disk partition.  How access and use this feature differs between manufacturers, so again you must call the computer manufacturer or visit its web site.

    Hello

It's a shame you don't know the exact name of the virus

Malware can cause non-genuine messages appear

    but try this:

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.

  • Upgraded Vista Business OEM for Vista Ultimate w/o a clean install?

Have Vista Business OEM on my Fujitsu tablet.  As said Fujitsu Tablet does not Win 7, I bought a Ultimate Upgrade from Amazon.  Everytime I try to upgrade, it tells me that I have to clean install because my version is too old for a upgrade path.  Too OLD?  What the devil?  Everything I read says that it must be a version of vista. I have read nothing that requires that the software that I have not "too old".  I don't say anything that he cannot be an OEM, either.  Just a version of Vista (legitimate copy is deducted). How can I get around this non sequitar?

  • A clean install of Windows 7 x 64 takes forever to search for updates

Don't know why, but the update takes forever to search on a clean install of windows. I made a lot of clean installations of Windows 7 before, but never had a problem with the receipt of the updates. But this time, it just doesn't go as far in receiving updates.

I don't have any firewall or antivirus programs installed on this system. Just new installation of windows 7. Tried the pro versions and at the same time with the same result.

Here's onedrive link for the log file

Please run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

Please provide details of any problem it reports as not fixed.

Generally updates for Windows 7 can take more than 24 hours to get the list of those available.

  • I have a WIndows 7 Ultimate operating system failure and required a drive for a clean install. I have the product key, but Microsoft offers no English option.

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate active computer that was swarming (STRONGLY) of malware/virus/junk files/adware...

I think I have cleaned out, but want to do a clean to be sure install, but I have no partition recovery (may be erased by a virus?) and no recovery dick.

I went to the Microsoft website and entered my product key.  He has been recognized as Windows 7 Ultimate, but when I had to choose a language, English was not available.

Any solution, or should I continue to use the computer and all hope is clean?

EDIT - I installed the windows 10 (using an ISO image) on Windows 7.  I do not enter the product key when asked (the program said I could jump at this stage of the installation).  Installation went well.

I then checked to activate Windows 10 - it activated without any difficulty.

I will now try a clean install...

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

    It should work.

I used a purchased copy of Windows 7 to do a fresh install of Windows 7 installed OEM by using the same key as the OEM.  During the installation it ask for the product key and I had to skip that part until the new facility is completed. The reason to skip the product key during the installation is because it looks like "Invalid product key" or something along that line. Then I right click My Computer\Properties and at the bottom of the page click on change the product key and seized the key for the OEM. He was then accepted and activated Windows. Good luck with it.
