Clean install on the new HD does not

I upgraded to a larger, faster hard drive after that old hard drive has failed. I used Vista recovery discs to reinstall the OS. However, I think it's a virus that survived somehow on drive X:. When I ran the Diagnostics, the HD was bad, and the memory and the CPU were OK. All major systems of work, then I guess that the motherboard is OK.

1. is it possible for a virus infect the RAM?

2. is there a way to ensure that things is not hidden in a chip ROM as BIOS?

3. is there a procedure during installation in order to avoid the old stuff back?

Symptoms: Registry corrupt, slows down whenever that services are accessible, unknown program installed during the restoration.

I thought that some of the data might have been hanging out somehow because I had Paint Shop Pro on the old installation, and it showed on the restoration. The default freeware Corel is a basic photo viewer. How is a blank hard disk or a recovery disc will know that I have a license for this software? No old files have been put on the new hard drive yet.

One thing that I didn't previously Norton, which I did not activate immediately. It kind of acts as a virus when you don't do what he wants.

I can tell you that with respect to government security measures, they do not take for granted that the data is unrecoverable RAM. I will try to start an installation with just the bare operating system after testing the drive. Another possible problem using Vaio to create an additional partition.

  • My computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants). How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

As says the question: my computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants).  How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

I'm running a full system scan in ESM right now, and it has detected multiple instances of sirefef.   I have remove as they pop up, but I'm afraid that when I run another scan they all will always be there.  Is there a way to know if MSE is actually remove them and he cleaning?  If not, should I do a back up and reinstall the OS?

Thank you.  I can choose to try this, however, I would like an answer to my other questions first.

Sirefef is a rootkit and yes he can hide in your system.  This is why it has been suggested that you may need to reformat/reinstall.  In fact, it's the only way to eliminate malware.  Multiple scans with several scanners and no conclusion malware probably indicate he disappeared, but the key word is "probably".  Malwarebytes is good and what he finds now may be traces of the infection, but what he finds perhaps not active more - it is always good to run the scans so.

What spare drive did you run?  What scanners did you use?  See again you and follow the guide "Malwaretips"?

Uninstall/reinstall of MSE is how?  All the problems?  Have you tested MSE with eicar to be sure it's working?

Assume that you have not had an opportunity to review the MSE Installation Checklist or you would have noted that MSE and Windows Defender cannot be used on the same computer.  So if WD works in fact it means MSE has been disabled/not not work correctly or not installed.

  • charge battery after installing the new battery does not exist

I use Windows 7 Ultimate Spk1 32 bit on my laptop (big mistake)
I recently installed a new battery & put it through the cycles of preparation 3 times following the instructions.
The next time he went down to the alarm of low level newly together and I added the power adapter, nothing happened, the battery wouldn't charge.
After many attempts to do nothing improved load, especially my temper.
They advised me to install another battery which I just did, and this SECOND new battery just sits there & will not charge either.
When he arrived he had 10% fresh rate showing so I removed the AC adapter and let him draw 8%, but when I replaced the adapter he had served on 8% & does not load.
What is going on? How a simple thing like recharging simply disappears. ?
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

    See you soon
    Geoff

The charging circuit inside the laptop and recharges the battery while the laptop is plugged into the mains. If the load circuit does not have the laptop is running on a charged battery or the power cable, but won't charge the battery.  The fact that the machine failed to load two new and old battery suggests the charging circuit has failed.

Does not remove the update older version of InDesign (and other software CC). Once installed, delete the old programs (those without 2014 in names). Make sure you click on the right shortcut icon - the former is not update a link to the new version. That's how it worked on Windows 8.1.

  • W7 Ent. SP1 x 64 clean install on the new PC - very slow to load after reboot during installation

    Hi all

I'm busy to install W7 Ent. SP1 x 64 on two computers for a small organization non-profit of my friends, all the similar Assembly (motherboard: ASRock H81M-VG4, CPU: Intel Celeron G1840, transcend SSD). The first PC went perfectly, no problems with the installation at all. Now, I installed the second, but unfortunately the following happens:

After restarting the installation, was asked to enter the name of the computer normally, and then to set up a password. When I clicked on next (and leaving the word password empty) the whole process seems to freeze a little, and then after a few minutes, I could choose settings updates, after which everything slowed even further. "Finalizing settings" took about three quarters of an hour. Once this done, all slowed even more, and it now displays a black screen telling me that this is not a genuine copy of Windows (had no chance to fill in the key product of course) and after about half an hour he is now "configuration of settings customized for xxxx".

-EDIT - Windows has begin once (between my opening message and my second post), and it was terribly slow in everything that (like several minutes before opening anything). I installed the LAN driver with the idea of updating all the drivers, but after a reboot it is so late it now already taken 10 minutes to boot Windows (and is suspended in the Welcome screen again).

I've done an another clean install after using DISKPART to format the SSD, but the same thing is happening again once unfortunately. I installed on a USB bootable, I used to install two other computers as well (one before this one and the other afterwards), and everything is fine with those. Swapping the RAM module for a good known has not changed the situation.

All comments are welcomed, appreciated, thanks.

All other essential drivers have been installed: video, Chipset?

Try the SSD at the other system and see how it starts in the system causes problems.

Also try the SSD with the painful installation in this computer to see if the problem persists.

Could contribute to isolate if the SSD.

  • The new HD does not appear in the bios or in disk management?

Upgrading to a new computer with win7.  I want to add my old HD as a second HD for the computer.  I installed and connected to the power source and the SATA cable.  The HD may not appear anywhere on the computer.  It is not in disk management or in the bios? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sometimes, a 'new' disk is not picked up by Windows. EaseUS Partition Master is a program that I found a workaround, download here: http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Master-Free-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html?tag=mncol;1 .

Once installed, it should recognize your drive and allow you to repartition / reformat to use with Windows 7.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Logitech Setpoint does not install correctly, the installation window does not appear fully, why?

Bought a new solar keyboard Logitech a week to match my Logitech anywhere mouse mx, the keyboard would not unify so uninstalled setpoint (Logitech site instructions) restarted and downloaded setpoint from Logitech, now when I try to install setpoint as the window opens, but only a picture of a mouse appears in the top left corner and 2 points show I can click on the dots to switch between them. I left the window open, thinking it takes a long time to load, but it remains the same even after 20 minutes.
I did some research on my pc (Windows 7) and we came to this setpint is not compatible... How is this possible if it has already been installed and working fine with the mouse, but not now with the new keyboard (keyboard work without instructions, but miss me the features this set would be to install).

    I'm so frustrated.

To "unify" devices based in Logitech Unifying receiver, you must at least of Logitech Unifying software.   In addition, the setpoint is compatible with Windows 7.  You may need to download the latest version on the Logitech website.  Please make sure that you get the 'proper' for the 'bit' of your Windows 7 version.

    Hello

I see that the IP address of the router is xxx.xxx.2.1 while the printer IP address if xxx.xxx.1.104 that are not in the same range, the printer should have an IP ending in xxx.xxx.2.xxx, proceed as follows.

Printer has been set to an IP address manually for router previous? If so, unplug the ethernet cable select network Menu > restore default network settings and reconnect the cable.

  • Windows 7 is installed repeatedly the generic driver does not work on a Realtek hd audio HD official that works.

I have a Realtek sound card on my ASUS motherboard. It requires a driver to work properly.

When I install this driver under Windows 7 32 - bit (fully updated - Jul 08,2012), the sound begins to work, until I stopped. but, when I turn the computer back on, Windows has uninstalled this driver, and replaced it with a generic Microsoft Audio driver, which does not work.
How can I solve this problem?

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Driver Installation\Code signature of device drivers

    http://www.itechs-systems.com/pages/tipstricks/Disable_Driver_Signing_in_Windows_7.aspx

    You can read here:

(Windows Vista and later versions) driver signing policy

Code signing is tangled with DRM, and some content may not play with unsigned drivers.   Your motherboard supplier should have signed drivers for its products, if they are not then I suspect, as another poster has said, that the mobo is not supported for Windows 7.
