  Problem:
  When I start a program (for example. Sonos controller) on my laptop my mouse pointer stops working. It does not happen with all programs!   Have you had a look in Device Manager for errors with USB devices?

  Use the Device Manager and uninstall the concentrators root USB and devices which show now on your machine.  Restart and let XP rediscover and see if that solves your problem.

  WHAT I TRIED:
  1. I tried to launch the MS Office diagnostics, but the problem remains.
  2.   I bought another keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard and Mouse 5000 for my partner as he just got a new laptop.  I liked my as the original and has therefore whoever we decided to buy exactly the same package.  The only problem is, as I plugged my partners, my mouse and keyboard do not work.  I've tried new batteries and I tried to use the usb, but nothing works and there is no reset button on the mouse or the keyboard (that I can see anyway).
