Without client VMware View

Setting up a server of security for our Organization.  Initially, I was happy because I imagined that most of our users could potentially connect to our farm from view with no client installation needed and simply make use of the RDP in Windows client.  However, it quickly became obvious that the VMware View Client must be on the system before connecting.  If the view Client simply uses RDP to connect to the farm from the view in any case, why should a download client?  It would be a huge advantage over Citrix, if it was made possible.

You can have your users go to the web address of the server your connection and you connect this way. It automatically installs the client. If it works for you?

  • Client VMware View Android: how hide the status bar at the top

    Hi all

I'm testing the VMware View Client for Android. A question that bothers me is the status bar I am displayed at the top of the screen. I mean the bar that displays the Logo of VMware View and several icons for the control settings.

Is possible to hide this bar? I have not found a switch in settings or in the official manual. The thing is: I think that it should be possible somehow, as a video YouTube of VMware shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85uJqkn-UV4

I'll be grateful for any comments...

  • How to configure the client VMware View 4 repurposed computers?

    I want to give my

View the customer in mode full screen and ask the user, like a normal computer for the user logon.

Users should not make a difference while using the virtual office. How

If you look at this guide, it tells you how to set the customer view as a replacement shell to explore, so the only thing that the machine starts is the customer of the view. With the appropriate switch, you can have the user login and go directly to their office right.

  • Client VMware View Horizon and high DPI screens

    Hello

I wonder if anyone has a solution for getting the customer view play nice with high DPI screens like those with screen resolution 3200 x 1800, or Apple 2880 x 1800 on the retina of Macbook 15 "screen resolution. View client does not seem to evolve properly, and the only solution seems to be to change the desktop screen resolution and then connecting display. I don't think that it is a very graceful difficulty, and my users are not too happy about it either.

    Thank you

  • Automatic connection to the server at startup for VMware View Client 2.2 Horizon?

In iterations (5.x), there was simply an option in "always connect to this server on startup".

In test 2.2.0 I don't see that option anywhere. I have also yet to find any switch that I can add to enable this feature.  Does anyone know if this is even possible?

    Thank you

You can create a custom shortcut that bypasses the user selects server connection: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Horizon view Client\vmware - view.exe ' desktopProtocol - desktopLayout - fullscreen PCOIP - serverURL 'view.connection.server.url' logInAsCurrentUser - false

  • VMware View 4.5 Client slow in WAN

    Hello

We tested VMware View 4.5 Client in WAN and it seems to be slow.

Not too big gap between RDP and PCoIP.

How much bandwidth needed a client VMware View 4.5 normally, a normal desktop, non-multimedia user?

    Thanks Mike,.

Here are some notes more - in addition to sizing guidelines, it may be wise to adapt some of the PCoIP session variables - see the knowledge base article http://techsupport.teradici.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15164&task=knowledge&questionID=348Teradici.

In addition, for MPLS to check if the load balancing has been configured for the link?  Per packet load balancing results in fragmented packets that should not be used with PCoIP Protocol.  If you need load balancing MPLS consider using instead the load balancing and the destination.

If you have not already done so, do not hesitate to ask the team to Teradici - you can send an email to [email protected].

  • Can VMware View - I connect with Microsoft RDP?

    Hello world

Can I connect via the Microsoft's RDP client Vmware View environment? No view, just Microsoft RDP client. I have a thin client model and just support Microsoft RDP Protocol. I want to connect environment seen through this customer.

    Thank you.

    Grosbois

You MUST have a client of VMware view. Then you can connect through it to view desktop using PCoIP or RDP Protocol.

You will be able to connect to the desktop using RDP display if your thin client is located in the same subnet (and if RDP is enabled on the desktop to view server and you know its ip address) but would not use vmware view (if you want to connect directly to your desktop from RDP Why would you need to notice), which would also directly access to a machine as you access all the other Windows VM.

And its always advisable to disable direct RDP on view desktops.

  • I can't install vmware view without a second server?

I am really new to server management. When I tried to install VMware View Server connection I got an error. He said

A controller of Active Directory (AD DC) domain to the "local" area could contacted could.

Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly. If the name is correct, click details to correct that information.

I also read somewhere that you can not install vmware view on the same Active Directory domain controller running server. Is it possible to install vmware view without going through a second server? If so, how?

You may first have to install ESX/ESXi in your server.

    • After successful installation, connect to the respective client server using vShphere.
    • Try to create 3 virtual machines and install Microsoft 2 k 8 operating systems.
    • The first virtual machine, you can use it as Server Active directory micorsoft.
    • Then you can you use it to vCenter server.
    • Third one you can use for connection server vmware view.
    • You may need to create two more additional, as virtual machines VMware view comments and the other as a client of the view. You can either install windows XP/windows 7 for the VMS in the thesis.

As already mentioned in messages, you can view VMware View Installation Guide for more details.

  • Ports and Destination for VMware View Client

    Hi all

I'm looking for a quick bit of help if possible please...

    Environment: VMware View 4.5

    Question / Info needed:

Two companies having a bond of trust between data transfer etc. and resources share. We need access to a site through their firewall in the bond of trust to connect to the VMware View VDI Office.  Customers using VMware View Client.

The question is, if we get the site to enable port 443 to our broker connection I assume this will not be enough?  It must be possible to:

    443 to connection broker

    32111 (redirect USB) to?

    9427 (multimedia redirection) to?

    4172 (PCoIP) to?

    3389 (RDP if used) to?

This may all sound a bit novicy but I need to be 100% before you go test.

    Thanks in advance.

So using the brokers of the connection in direct mode without any security server.   I think that it would look like this.

    443 to connection broker

    32111 VDI Desktop

    9427 multimedia redirection) to?

    4172 VDI Desktop

    3389 VDI Desktop

  • Installation of VMWare view client issues with 64 bit Win8

    Hello

I am trying to install VMware view client to access my VDI but I get the error message below... tried to install different products VMware, that nothing has worked... pls help.

Its best you post your question in the following forums:

  • VMware VIew 6 (PCOIP): Windows Client and web browser connects, Android and Ubuntu - don't

    Hello colleagues!

    VMware Horizon Client 3.4.0 build-2769709

    VMware View 6.1.1 construction-2769403

    VMware vSphere 6.0.0 2776511

That's what's wrong: used SecurityServer and connecting to the server. External connection - via a router. When it is connected to a vmware PCOIP Protocol (Internet) outside of the view with a Windows client and a web browser, it works fine. But when connecting from Android or Linux (Ubuntu 14) load the desktop does not occur. Android immediately displays the message 'connection to server lost', Ubuntu delivers all messages - I'll be back on the screen to select a pool table.

Which connection via MS RDP connection protocol is correctly to all customers.

In the settings ConnectionServer in PCOIP Security Gateway set up the external address of the router.

    Redirect them router ports:

    -TCP 80,443,8443,4172,32111

    -UDP 4172,32111

    Any ideas?

In security settings server in 'URL of PCOIP' was FQDN, but it must be the IP address.
