Client VPN Cisco ASA 5505 Cisco 1841 router

Hello. I'm doing a connection during a cisco vpn client and a vpn on one server asa 5505 behind a 1841 router (internet adsl2 + and NAT router).

My topology is almost as follows

customer - tunnel - 1841 - ASA - PC

ASA is the endpoint vpn (outside interface) device. I forward udp port 500 and 4500 on my router to the ASA and the tunnel rises. I exempt nat'ting on the asa and the router to the IP in dhcp vpn pool. I can connect to my tunnel but I can't "see" anything in the internal network. I allowed all traffic from the outside inwards buy from the ip vpn pool and I still send packets through the tunnel and I get nothing. I take a look at the statistics on the vpn client and I 2597 bytes (ping traffic) and there are no bytes. Any idea?

Where you you logged in when you took the "crypto ipsec to show his"? If this isn't the case then try again, also this option allows IPSEC over UDP 4500 and it is disabled, enable it.

ISAKMP nat-traversal crypto

Just enter the command as it is, then try to connect again after activation of this option and get the same result to see the.

Let me approach you on the following problem.

I wanted to use a secure between the Cisco VPN client connection

I used the Microsoft certification authority (Windows 2003 server).
Cisco VPN client used eTokenPRO Aladdin as a certificate store.

Certificate of MSW CA registration and implementation in eToken ran OK
Customer VPN Cisco doesn't have a problem with the cooperation of eToken.
Certificate of registration of Cisco2821 MSW ca ran okay too.

Cisco 2821 configuration is standard. IOS version 12.4 (6).

Hey guys, it's weird that the router is not find cert after IKE is the cert and validates, it is certainly not reason, but I would go ahead and set up the mapping of certificate on this router to force the client to associate with Group of IKE, for that matter, that you need to change your config a bit for use iskamp profiles :

  • How to use Layer 2 Ports on the Cisco 1841 router switch

    Hello

I use the Cisco 1841 router with a single port layer 3 Fe0 and 8 Ports switched.

I gave the IP on the Fe0 port which is connected to another router.

Now I don't know how to use Layer 2 of the router switch ports.

I tried to make one of the port as a Port of access by switchport mode access and connected my laptop and the same subnet given IP, but I can't ping my Fe0 IP port and vice versa, as I am also unable to ping my laptop router.

Can someone explain to me how to use these ports on layer 2?

Please help, how to set up vpn?

    Hello

According to this output is more than clear that you do not have a k9 license applied to this router, this license will enable the security features on your IOS, in this case, you will need a permit of k9 with an activation key, and then you will be able to have available on your device encryption controls. Once you have that we can work on configuring site to site.

    Do not forget to rate!

    David Castro,

    Kind regards

  • Customer Cisco IPSec vpn cisco ios router <>==

    Hello

I need to implement ipsec vpn for all users of 10-15. They all use the vpn cisco 5.x client and we have a router for cisco ios at the office. We already have a situation of work for these users. However, it has become a necessity which known only devices (laptops company) are allowed to install a virtual private network.

I think that the only way to achieve this is to use certificates. But we don't won't to buy certificates if there is a free way to implement. So my question is

    (1) what are the options I have to configure vpn ipsec, where only known devices can properly configure a vpn and all unknown devices are blocked?

    (2) if the certificate is the only way. Can I somehow produce these certificates myself using cisco router ios?

    (3) someone at - it an example of a similar installation/configuration?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    M.

Unfortunately if you connect to the router IOS, there is no other way except using the certificate. If you connect to a Cisco ASA firewall, then you can identify the laptop company using DAP (Dynamic Access Policy).

  • What clients VPN Cisco 2811 supports?

Is the solution of VPN Cisco 2811 locked customers cisco or that market with other brands too?

    Best regards Tommy Svensson

    Hello

With the correct IOS feature set, it will support IPsec VPN clients. This includes not only the Cisco VPN client but almost any standard IPsec client.

In addition, if on the 2811 can accept any browser SSL VPN connections, or even use the AnyConnect SSL client.

    It will be useful.

    Federico.

  • Impossible to establish a VPN to ASA 5505

I'm trying to set up a network VPN from Site to Site. Right now I'm doing this work in the laboratory. I have the Internet port on the Linksys connected directly to port 0 on the cisco that has been set up as the internet port.

    My configuration is:

    Remote site

    Laptop 1 - IP 192.168.2.100 address 255.255.255.0 GW 192.168.2.1

    The Router 1 (Linksys BEFSX41) - LAN IP 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0

    209.168.145.49 WAN IP address 255.255.255.0 GW 209.168.145.50

    Host site

    Laptop 2 - address 192.168.1.100 IP 255.255.255.0 GW 192.168.1.1

    Router 2 (Cisco ASA 5505) - LAN IP 0 address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

    IP WAN (Port 0) 209.168.145.50 255.255.255.0

    My problems:

I use ASDM 5.2 to configure the router of the SAA. With the configuration I currently have my linksys is not able to establish a VPN connection. The journal of ASA reported via the ASDM is as shown in the attachment ciscolog.txt.

My linksys journal is as listed in the attachment linksyslog.txt.

I also tried to create a Cisco VPN client connection using the cisco client software and a laptop connected directly to the internet port of the router cisco (port 0) and was not able to establish a connection with that either. I used the wizard of ASDM VPN to try to implement the Site-site as well as the scenarios of connection remotely. This has been unsuccessful in both cases.

The only one, I am really interested in getting to work is the site to site.

My current configuration of cisco is shown in the attachment cisco.txt.

If anyone has any input I would appreciate it a lot. I have been through the manuals of cisco as to scouring the internet and am unable to find an answer.

I enclose 3 files, cisco log (ciscolog.txt), linksys (linksyslog.txt) log and config cisco (cisco.txt) in the form of text files.

    Thank you.

    Sean

I hope that path statement solves your problem.

    Good job, Adam!

  • Install two the separate IPSec VPNS on ASA 5505

    Hello

I'll have set up a second tunnel IPSec VPN on my Cisco ASA 5505 to another office.  I was able to configure one without problem through the ASDM, but were not able to get the second.

The IPSec tunnel connects to a WRVS4400N router to the other office.  I tried the debug crypto isakmp and ipsec crypto, but I get nothing.  Here is the config.  Something seems wrong on my end?   I've also attached a screenshot of the configuration settings on the remote router.

Output of the command: "show run".

  • Client VPN to ASA

    Hello

We have a firewall Cisco 5505 and installation work VPN through the firewall, which Cisco vpn client, should download us for our users to have the right customer on their computer desktop/latops.

    Thank you

While the Cisco's VPN IPsec client is compatible with the ASA 5505, this product is end-of-sales and eventually be completely abandoned (end of support). (reference)

New remote VPN (IPsec or SSL) access should use the AnyConnect Secure Mobility client. (data sheet) You should have the essential AnyConnect bought and activated to support customers of license (at least). (reference) The part number (if you do not already) is L-ASA-AC-E-5505 = (cost less USD $100).

If you want to use clientless SSL VPN, you must purchase the AnyConnect Premium license. That option is authorized by user levels (25, 50, etc.)

'show version' on your device will display your current level of license, among other things.

  • a way vpn with asa to the 800 router

    people

I have a site to site vpn set up between a asa 5540 and a 800 router

I want only the vpn to be initiated from the asa with the 800 remote listen incoming connections

I know that I can define the type of connection on the asa as only come but I can find an equivalent command to answer only for the 800 remote

can anyone point me in the right direction or is it enough to simply configure the asa as are created only for this encryption card

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer

    Hello

I recommend you configure the tunnel as a dynamic to static tunnel VPN, the ASA will be the static counterpart, so it will be the initiator and the router will never be able to establish the connection.

The ASA will be a common L2L configuration, but the router will use a dynamic encryption card.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/Tech/tk583/TK372/technologies_configuration_example09186a008051a69a.shtml

The PIX in the example is old, then you can simply adjust the controls to your current version, the important thing is to understand the concept.

Please let me know if that answers your question,

    Thank you.
