  • Modifying Clip Audio channels - can't hear more!

I'm a Final Cut Pro Editor long pass to Adobe. It was interesting in a stereo environment when FCP uses all the mono tracks. I was told in a forum to split a stereo audio track by setting the mono track Format radio button choice (Clip menu-edit-Audio channels). I did and now I can bring my stereo clip in my editing on two mono tracks. GREAT! But now when I go back to the source Panel to draw another segment of the clip, I can't hear the sound more. I can hear it if I play it in my calendar, but not in the source Panel. Don't I have a setting wrong? I also tried to return to the menu clip to put audio in stereo, but it won't let me.

Ideas? Thanks for all your comments!

Bad, nothing is settled in itself; you're just banging an unfortunately poor implementation of the monitoring of the audio track in Premiere Pro. In the Source monitor, body is able to follow a trail of a clip at a time. If the video source has a stereo track, you can hear both channels at the same time. However, if the clip has, say, two mono tracks, you can monitor only one at a time. The default values of the Source Audio Track 1 monitor, so if the first string has no audio not recorded in it, it will appear as if the clip has no audio.

To see if this is the case, load one of the clips of issues in the Source monitor. Click on the button in the Source monitor output (three circles; row buttons on the far right upper) and change of Waveform Audio. You will see a drop-down selector that says, at the present time, track 1; Click this button and change it to channel 2. If you can hear the sound when playing now, you have found the solution. Unfortunately, it's a preview clip option, so the next clip will return to channel 1.

If this does not resolve the problem, please after return. Also, once you use a clip in a sequence, you can't remap audio channels; This is because channels are already used as a format or another.

  • Working with video clips with audio 5.1

Someone sent me a video file with 5.1 audio.  I'm going bonkers trying to figure out how to alleviate individual channels in this file.  My final draft stereo and I I want no sound from the rear speakers in my final mix.  I can't understand what search terms will lead me to the answer in the first help file.  Can someone help me with this one?

    J. D.

You should be able to click with the right button on your source file, then select Edit-> Audio channels

And then enable or disable channels that you want to use:

Please note that this can be done BEFORE use of the clip.

    Hope that helps!

  • Importing MXF files in timeline fills all audio channels! CS 5.5

    Hello

just started using a Sony PWM 200, that I imported the files via the media browser in the project. But when I drag them in the timeline, the audio fills all 8 channels [I'll be mixing 5.1].

Is this normal? I was expecting just four...  Can I pass just to import four somehow?  Ideally two, I just recorded sound on both channels, with covers of channels 3 and 4.

    Thank you

  • How to map a track audio channel left or right only in CS6?

    Guys,

I imported a mono audio clip and get on mono and stereo audio, but I can't make it show to left or right channel only on two of them.

And I can't add "Balance", "Fill the left" and "Fill right" effect to it. So what I would do in this situation? I want out of this audio clip mono left channel or right only.

    I use Premiere CS6.

    Thank you!

Go to the project Panel (before you put the clip on the timeline) right click on the clip, select Edit / Audio channels and set it up to stereo.

  • I want to combine the four audio channels of my mxf p2 files

    Hello!

I remember reading somewhere on the web that it should be possible to combine the four channels of audio from a clip of first panasonic p2 and treat them as a single stereo clip.

I tried to follow the tutorial that I found on creative cow, but the procedure seems to have changed since cs3 (the tutorial used cs3).

Then I read in the CS5 help what should I do a right-click on a clip in the project window and choose 'Edit'-> 'audio channels. When I do exactly that, all the options are greyed out and I can't change my track format. I included a screenshot of the situation:

    question-about-audio-channels.jpg

It will only work if you have not yet used the clip in a sequence; Judging by the fact that the options are grayed out, I suspect that this is the case. How far along your edit are you?

  • I have files mp4 with 4 audio channels, but when I import it into the first it shows only a single channel

I have the mp4 with 4 channel audio file that is not in the audio channel. When I import in the first it shows only 1 channel. In the project window, I try to find other audio channels on option audio channel (Edit-> audio channels) but it shows other channels. How active other audio channels and retrieve audio sound?

When you go to interpret, I chose multichannel, then specified 4 tracks.

  • The selected file cannot be linked because there 6 audio channels, and the clip was created with 2

I tried to link the MTS files to a project that I have edited with AVI files. I got the message "the selected file cannot be bound because it has 6 audio channels and clip was created with channel 2/channel" audio. Does anyone know what I need to do?

I had this problem and the cause in my case, it was that I changed all my clips in the project are mono audio channels. When I tried to swap the originals with proxies, I did, I had a similar message for the clips that have been affected by the designation of channels. I opened the project and selected all my media items in the project window and changed all the audio back to 'use the file' and that did the trick for me.

  • Audio channels

Why are both my left and right audio channels on a track?  What does do?  I wouldn't have to deal with each item before I throw it on the time line.  What is anyone else annoyed by this and they plan change to the video editing can be done in the correct way?

You can change the audio format on sequence by sequence:

Or you can select a default value for different types of clips which applies to importation:

  • Multi-cam sequence only ONE AUDIO CHANNEL LEFT, Adobe Premiere Pro CC TIMES.

    Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I have several hours of short clips (1-3 min) of an event of 3 days I am organizing and preparation for editing.  I wasn't on the shooting, but the cameras record the external microphone (main audio) on one channel and the internal microphone (audio reference) on another channel; but it varies on what channel they recored reference main vs.  For the clips where someone talking directly to the camera and I know that I will not need the audio reference, I went and made "audio editing" and mixed the "stereo" until "mono" and then selected the channel with the "audio main' to be source channel.   It works now great when the person talks it comes in evenly on the left and right speakers instead of being unbalanced.

However, when I then try to take 2 of these clips which were mixed at the bottom of 'mono' and create a new multi-cam sequence, new sequence plays constantly audio only from the left lane.  I tried many configurations where do the multi-cam of sequence (automatic, mono, stereo, Adaptive). Nothing works - he ONLY plays the left side.  I also tried to change the audio channels after I do the new sequence and put "Channel 1" in both channels left and right.  Nothing, he still plays on the left side.

Any idea on how to get my mono source channel to play regularly in the left and right channels instead of only in the left?  Also, if I try to Pan right in the effects window, it's just quieter, not balanced.

    Thanks for the help!

Found a solution here multicamera Source Audio sequence of 1 speaker instead of two? HELP Please!

CTRL + N or command + N for a new sequence, select your preset (in my case DVProHD > 1080i) and make sure the audio channels are all mono. Then copy and paste all your clips into the new empty sequence.

When I upgraded from Premiere Pro CC 2014 and 2015, all my sequences blocking started playing mono audio through the left speaker only. I'd just create a new multi camera sequence or if I opened one I had created in 2014.

  • Too many audio channels...

    Hello

I need help to understand something.

I have the problem with Canon XF images described in this thread:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1009064?TSTART=0

Gluttony I utility uthe Canon FX to create merged clips in MXF and nvert those XDCAM HD 50 Mbps 50i 4.2.2 vi SOUL in CS5.5

When I import the output file in CS6, I get 8 audio channels, 4 for each L & R. My settings are standard for the preset:

    Untitled.png

I can't change the audiosettings to export, but maybe I could change something in the importation of the ORGANISM CS6?

    I want just a single L & R a track or 1 stereo track, including two L & R.

    Thank you.

    / Ulf

Why convert to beginning with the media? Are you aware of what you convert MPEG2 to MPEG2 camera you get when you create the new MXF file? (XDCAM HD = MPEG2)

I would not ever re-compress/convert the already-in-camera-compressed MPEG2 MPEG2 compressed for editing and have then ending up in Let's say DVD MPEG2 or H.264. You lose a generation and I would not lose it by re-encoding in MPEG2 since, IMO, re-encodong MPEG2 MPEG2 are to be avoided. (MPEG2 MPEG2 = quality degrades too) If you want to re - encode images I would use another DNxHD/CineForm/Lagarith codec. (Pick your favorite)

You can use the Canon XF Utility MXF files in CS6. (The MXF files are just copied from the original folder structure, so without re-encoding is done.)

As far as I KNOW, problems with video RIP will disappear using the MXF files that you get from XF Utility. If the tear is always present, close Pr and delete all Cache files. Open Pr and Generating Peak file to finish.

AFAIK 8 audio channels is common in the MXF OP1a according to SMPTE D10.

  • How to select the right and left a track audio channels in the graphics editor?

I put my 2 keyframes for gradual and hit the chart next to the Audio levels. Then in the graph Editor to see the slope of the fade.

I would like to use the Bezier handles to edit bland. But when moving them around it just doesn't move right and left audio channels separately, and I have no idea how to adjust them in unison or at least take the other to the same position as the first.

    Thanks for the help

In General, audio Ae tools are not only versatile, so do not expect to have a hard time with them. your questions - it seems that if you want to manipulate the keyframes for Audio levels in the graph Editor, you will need to adjust the two handles, one at a time.

two workaround solutions: I can think of:

    1. If you want to control the volume, it is better still to use stereo mix effects and not audio levels. It also has 2 values, only this time both are visible in the timeline panel if you can drag the two simultaneously (how you couldn't front with audio levels) and manipulate your chart.

    2. If you still want to control audio levels after reading the 1st work around: you can connect your audio levels to a cursor of expression: Add a cursor of expression to your audio layer alt now (Effects-> expressions-> slider control control) click on sound levels to activate the expressions for this layer and drag the pickwhip expression. This will make the slider to control the sound levels and you'll have only one value in the graph Editor.

  • How to expose several audio channels of the MXF file in body CC 2015?

I import MXF (from C300) files that should have two audio channels separated from two different microphones. (When these files are opened in Final Cut you can see two audio channels to separate). Agency CC 2015 it shows me only one audio channel. When I go to "Edit"->"audio" window I see no way in there to expose the second audio channel. How do I do that?

You'll need a parameter like this:

You need to do before you put anything on the timeline.

  • Extract the audio channels to mono files - does not

When I right click a file .wav stereo in the files Viewer, why are the "extract audio channels to mono files -" option grayed out?

It worked for me a few weeks before a hearing CC 8.1.0.162 update.  I resorted to using version CS6 where it always works.

Well, even if I don't use it there, I agree with you - it does not work and is grayed out, and there is no reason that I can see. It still works fine in the Edit menu on the same file, and also you can assign a keyboard shortcut, so you have not really lost all features, even if I would say it was a bug...

I'll connect it with a reference to this thread.

  • Editing audio first in Audition, when the marquee tool, the changes do not take effect or I would like to export.

Editing audio first in Audition, when you use the marquee tool to get rid of unwanted 'knocking' noise audio, the changes do not take effect or I would export after changes in the spectral display.

No indication on how to save the changes to the marquee selection tool would be great.

Hmm.  You did something for the audio in the selection?  It looks not to the file has been modified at all, and the registration option is not enabled, unless a change has occurred.  I suppose you try to remove or reduce the volume of the sound inside the selection rectangle, is that correct?  With this selection, you can press DELETE to remove it completely, or set the volume floating just above the selection of lower button.

It also seems that you stopped reading, and while that save the selection under will be activated pause, of many other commands will not.

So, try in the following order:

1 stop playback.  Is File > Save now activated?

    2. otherwise, do some edit to this file.  You will know that the file is considered 'dirty' when an asterisk * appears next to the name of the file in the files Panel and the top of the editor Panel.

    3. There is no number 3.  I feel confident, one of the first two options will work.  Once the file is saved and overwritten, go back to the first and you should hear the content updated the.
