"clip" to shape gradient

I have a multilayer image with a gradient that is applied to the entire image with a few layers above and below. How I 'clip' this gradient so that it appears only within the limits of the form that appears on the layer directly below?

Keep 'Alt' key and move your cursor over the line separating the two layers: you will see a slider with the form of a double O when you are on this line. Release your mouse button and the top layer is cut with the bottom. Alternatively, you can select the top layer and type Ctrl G.

  • How to make a clipping to shape layer mask

I'm building a small widget to the web user interface, and trying to keep all of my the most changeable elements, I can (form of layers) and things instead of rasterize layer effects. I have a shape layer that makes a badge in the shape of burst, and he has a gradient on it overlay to give dimensionality. Now, I want to put a circular layer topped on it (with a transparent gradient melted in it) to give the badge a big nail gloss. The problem is that if I do the badge, a layer of cutting for the circular Fermata, the climax gets covered by the gradient on the badge overlay. I thought maybe I could dupe the badge shape layer, stip effects, then cut the nail that and set the fill opacity to 0% - making a transparent layer... but this is just the highlight disappear thus (I suppose that elements within the clipping mask are considered by embankments - and this is also why the gradient on the Baden he covers if I hang it there).

If I just rasterize my bland-in gradient and use a vector mask on it that has the same shape as the badge, it works fine. But it is not as elegantly resizable. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Select the layers you want to hide, and then click the G command to put them in a group, and then either create a vector or a mask bitmap on the group. If you are having problems with the effects and how they interact with the mask, double click the effect and change the settings in red

  • Shape gradient develops series of banded paste forms

The last two days, I noticed an annoying problem with my gradients shapes in Illustrator. Sometimes, when I copy a shape to a document and paste it into another, the gradient develops into a series of banded forms that are masked by the original form. What is going on? Is this a bug?

  • CS6 PS 16bpc shape burst gradient of transparency problem

    Hello

Huge first post, I tried to keep it concise, thanks for reading.

    The combination of:

    (1) image 16bpc. that contains a non-empty layer with the layer style to:

    (2) race: shaping Burst: degraded; and

    (3) transparency in the gradient (red > semi transparent white) race:

causes the entire race to make transparent. Changing one of the points of (1), (2), or 3) causes the entire race visit as planned. For example, starting with an image with this combination of shape/16bpc burst/transparency in the gradient:

-just hang out to 8/32bpc 16bpc renders the stroke properly. Switch back to 16bpc, the stroke becomes transparent.

-just burst radius shape correctly renders the stroke (in the radial direction). Return to the rafale form renders the transparent stroke.

-simply by changing the solid red gradient > white Uni renders the stroke properly. Change the solid red gradient > semi transparent white restores the all transparent stroke.

8bpc + burst + transparency in the shape gradient = correct, partially visible

8bpc + burst + solid shape gradient = OK, visible

8bpc radial + transparency in the gradient = correct, partially visible

    8bpc + strong + radial gradient = OK, visible

16bpc + burst + transparency in the shape gradient = incorrect, transparent

16bpc + burst + solid shape gradient = OK, visible

16bpc radial + transparency in the gradient = correct, partially visible

    gradient radial + solid = OK, visible + 16bpc

32bpc + burst + transparency in the shape gradient = correct, partially visible

32bpc + burst + solid shape gradient = OK, visible

32bpc radial + transparency in the gradient = correct, partially visible

    32bpc + strong + radial gradient = OK, visible

    Comments:

-The race is still there in this combination, such as applying also a shadow reveals the drop shadow is offset a distance by the thickness of the line, it makes it just completely transparent race.

-The layer itself and the other layer styles are still visible.

-C' is 100%/Actual Pixels (since it is sometimes a question). Interestingly, lower zoom of ~ 60%, the race renders correctly, but zooming in again, it becomes transparent. Navigation preview renders the stroke correctly at all zoom levels.

-Flattening/pixelation still renders the transparent stroke.

    -Ditto for new/existing/duplicate files.

    -Ditto for sRGB/ProPhoto/no managed.

    -Even after purge

    -Even after rebooting.

    -Ditto for PSD/PSB.

    -Ditto for the x 32 (on Win7x64) and x 64 (on Win7x64).

-Ditto for the disabled/enabled reduced GPU.

I have a workaround, change of the slope, for example:

Fixed red > red transparent; TO

Fixed red > white Uni; and the blending mode to linear density parameter.

It is very annoying, however, and is not always look the same. I'm conversion ~ 400 8bpc multi-layer psd 16bpc to eliminate a problem of widespread banding (several layers, gradients, masks, degraded and degraded styles), number with this combination. The conversion was easily addressed by lot for the 8 > 16bpc part, but lack the layer styles in this combination. Layers with this solution to workaround/combination of treatment must be done manually through combinations of different colors, orientations, amounts, etc. They are all unique compositions with little similarity.

Flattening/merge layers in 8bpc first to preserve the race and then by converting to defeats the purpose of the conversion of 16bpc 16bpc to eliminate banding.

Similarly, I use 32bpc Smart layers to these layers, but that means still to find the offending manually layers.

Last resort I tried to convert in 32bpc, but some of the most exotic fusion used styles are not available in 32bpc; the files are already huge, some of them PSB, is another factor. and I have a lag of contrast when you convert 8bpc to 32bpc which does not occur during conversion 8bpc > 16bpc (they were initially created on a monitor not profiled with colors unmanaged [error made during the transition from sRGB CRT > wide range LCD]).

  • I need help to create a complex gradient

There are two things I'm looking in practice. I want to create a color wheel that you would see in a photo editing application. I want to have a ring around a triangular shape gradient in the gradient.

    1. I managed to make the ring, but as shown in the screenshot, the colors of repeat. I want every color to appear only once.

    2. This is the part that I am really confused. I need a gradient of three tracks for saturation, darkness and lightness. How can I do this?

    Screenshot.png

For the ring, all you need to do is change the gradient to linear. You already 'Apply gradient along the race' selected. You should also end the gradient of the same color (red) that you started with, so it changes abruptly to red magenta.

For the triangle, just make a [color] degraded white going a direction and an opaque black to transparent black gradient going in another direction.

  • change the gradient fill

This issue revolves around to change the angle of the filling of a repeated shape 'gradient'. I want to change the angle of degraded hundreds who, right now, are set to run horizontally. I need all of them to have the same vertical gradient. I can see the angle for each toolbar, but I can't possibly change one by one. If I consolidate them, the gradient is sent to all members as a unit, no not as simple fillings.

Here is the example. I need to each filling to running up and down, not left to right. The gradient is a mixture of black, gray and white.

    Thanks for any help.

OK, I created a design that is pure vector. It has exported version EPS10, everything seems perfect until I got close and reopen the EPS file, I see little of the design elements are converted to bitmap. However, the illustrator format HAVE is still perfect. I use CS6

I tried many options but nothing has worked. Can someone help me please.

Sure. EPS does not support the oval shape gradients.

EPS10 - there is no EPS10. There are 3 EPS. That means 10 EPS is, it records an EPS 3 and is also included in this file something called data private. These private data contain a file AI 10. HAVE 10 supports blending modes and transparency, and that is why there is no flattening in the documents in the file that use. When you open the file in Illustrator, you'll be atually open this AI 10, not the EPS file.

But if someone does not have Illustrator, it will modify the EPS 3 and of course they will not have a lot of fun with it.

  • I can extract from PS7, which should I?

I have an older mac that takes place in PS7, it is old and slow like me but I read that its possible to extract stuff from the bowels of the program and save it in PE8 which I use on a newer faster updated macbook, which cannot run PS7. I can use, I immediately think of Actions and do something of the sort. Pointers to books or advice gladly accepted.

I was recently made aware that there is no such thing as PSE 7 for Mac.  So it would be more likely that you have 6 PES on the old system.

A lot of Plugins and Presets will change from PSE 6 PSE 8 seamlessly. It is Actions and brushes, custom shapes, Gradients, filters (non-tiers).

  • Blur filter palette?

    Hello

I work in Flash CS4 and have a bit of a puzzle...

I'm trying to use the filter palette to create a blur effect on a movie clip symbol shape my library. I have used it before on other projects, but for some reason any he does not appear in my palette options more. My symbol is a graph of film clip that I converted the text, but I also tried other library symbols (both in video and graphic symbols) and the filter options still not displayed...

I looked in 'Window' to see if I had somehow inadvertently closed this palette window, but I do not see "Filter" in the list... any help would be greatly appreciated, as it became a maddening obsession to understand what I did to lose this option...

    Thanks in advance!

    Jesse

Are you sure that you publish to Flash 8 or higher? The filters must be at least Flash 8. (I've had people say that they were safe, but when you press to actually check that they discovered that he published to Flash 7!)

  • limit the area of circulation MC

I have a MC tank, then a background of tiles. Some of the areas on the scene (or tiles) I don't want the tank to be able to walk on. My first idea failed, that is:
-put several MCs called Block1-7 on the stage where I really didn't float walk and then in my script of movement test any collision with one of the blocks and stop the movement. However this failed because it went so slow that flash couldn't handle.
-My second attempt was to combine all the 'block' STM in a big clip the shape of the region, I wanted to unwalkable. It did not work because hitTest apparently through the bounding box and no where is the actual content of the clip. So the tank could never work because he was STILL inside the bounding box.

So, how would limit the area that he could walk? Any ideas would be very appreciated. My code (which runs an enterframe by a white MC off the screen) is attached below.

NOTE: the bottom, well made of tiles, is not created by actionscript
NOTE ALSO: This isn't a game of tiles based with and map array, my character is more important than each tile so what im that is not an option
    What do you think?

It's exactly what you're doing. you might knock block1, set your speed to zero and then continue to check the other blocks, repeatedly reset your speed. only the last block will have the desired effect.

to remedy, if you hitTest() is set to true, use the break; to leave your loop hitTest() for.

  • Hi vs gradient mesh, mask clipping

    untitled.PNG

Hi, I have a mesh of 4 columns in vs. 4 lines and I added the color. I have a small irregular shape with a single color, and I'm doing a clipping mask. If I place the shape behind the work of the mesh and trying to make a mask, Illustrator complains saying that the object must be an etcetc etc. Now I can make a mask if I placed the shape on top of the mesh, but this isn't what I want.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    You need a third form.

Simply draw a rectangle around the shape of the mountain that is as wide as the gradient square. Use the new shape as a mask of clipping to the shape of the mountain. (Make sure that the new form is in front of the mountain, select mountain and the new shape, make a clipping mask).
