Gradients to InDesign in Illustrator without clipping masks

A customer created their logo in InDesign and there a lot of gradients and transparency involved. If I export as EPS or PDF or I copy and paste into Illustrator, everything happens as clipping masks. I really don't want to have to recreate all the gradients and transparency from scratch. No work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How do you export the PDF file? You should use X / 4

    Hi all

I have a small question: I use CS4 (illustrator and InDesign) on Mac OSX platform.

QUESTION: I have a one color logo (just text), which fades in transparency (applied to the type in Illustrator gradient clipping mask). I would check how I should prepare and import this logo in InDesign -to be sure, I'm not the effect of real transparency on different pages when it is applied in my InDesign book.

  • Mask - without clipping contours

    Hey guys,.

Hopfeully is not a simple question for you.

I tried to create a block of moleskine sketch in Illustrator CS4. I imported a texture, pathed the contours of an image, created a clipping mask, lowered opacity and specify a gradient to create a shadow between the two pages.

    Moleskine.JPG

In the moment, I've defined the contours to 0, 5pt but I would ask a brush so there will be more 'summary', as hand-drawn.

Unfortunately, I am not able to apply a brush. Anyone have an idea why and a solution?

    Thank you

Just found an another cheat. In the layer panel, open the layer and find the clipping group. Select the Group and the dialog box add new Stroke to the group. Open the group, and then drag the point of appearance (gray button on the right) for the appearance of clipping mask point. The race appears on the clipping mask.

One method: Add this item to a library of CC and go from there.

Another method: exports the INDD, PDF/X-4 and place it in Illustrator (if possible as a linked file).

  • Objects of the library in Illustrator CC 2015 NOT clipping masks?

The functionality of dynamic links in Illustrator CC 2015 library is cool. However, our internal wired kit includes a number of model objects that are used at best when they can be dragged and edited as a specific instance. The process was EASY on the iteration of 2014. Unfortunately, now, all the objects are nested inside the clipping masks, requiring at least 4 distinct steps to clean before they can be customized.

Is this a bug? Can it be fixed?

    Thank you!

Try to use the Opt (Alt) key when you drag.

  • How can I change a something in an envelope (in a clipping mask) without releasing either

Here is my file I.  http://hqgraphicdesign.com/editTheEnvelopeContentsHow-ChrisKortjohn.ai

In the document bound are 4 groups of 2 or 3 forms.  envelope mesh gradient distorted within a clipping mask is the one on the left.  I need to try a lot of different gradients to see how they look distorted in order to release it and again it will be tedious.  I just click on look look-click click on watch by the nuances of gradient.  I know that I can use Recolor work to change colors even if there is an envelope.  But I want to be able to change things in an envelope just as you can change things in a clipping mask, because I know that the data is always there, no way to use it?

    How? pray tell

  • Ive been trying for hours now, but illustrator wont allow me to create a clipping mask

I created the spirit logo attached the pen tool. I then cut the Central Wick using the form generator tool.

I imported it into a new document with an object/image that I want to hang it. I select the two go to object > clipping to mask.

The two objects is suddenly off and I do not see the fill / no STROKE of the icons. If this does not happen then There nature and all just say "cannot make a clipping mask.

This has been bothering me for a few days now.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

You can do so quite different or similar with masks of Cliping, without or with background color purple/note/smoke.

Note: There was an error in the first proposal in post #18: in step 5) you must select C) (purple/note/smoke color background to cut of the) instead of d) (the underlying texture of parties drops black), sorry, I just spotted it.

You can (reusing a part of the first proposal):

    (1) return to, or start from scratch, with the following basic elements (starting with this stacking order):

    (A) the compound path, forming the dripping inner circle party black (in A).

    (B) the compound path, forming the external parties dripping with black,

    (C) the color purple/note/smoke to cut background

    (D) the underlying texture parts of gout black,.

    (E) the underlying texture of letter parts internal;

    Select 2) A) and B) and copy both to the top of the stacking order, then release both Compound paths and remove the inner path from A) and the external path of B), then turn them into a new compound path, consisting of forms of internal letters (you can use Pathfinder > less first plan or object > compound path > make);

    (((3) E move) (the underlying texture of parts internal letter) up just below the new path composed of 2), select both and opposition > clipping mask > make, and then to hide;

    (Select 4 (A) (composite route forming the dripping inner circle in black (A)) and b the compound path forming the outer circle dripping parts black) and object > compound path > make;

((5) select the combination of 4) and D) (the underlying texture of parties drops black) and object > clipping mask > make.

    (Show 6) 3).

    (C) the note/violet/smoky colored backgroun, if keep you it, or any other background will be visible everywhere where it is not covered.

  • Creating white fill Illustrator clipping mask?

    Hi all

So basically I have designed the top of a paper airplane and have completed the design of albums that I now want to staple in the model using the clipping mask. I used it exactly how it is supposed to"

    1. first get my form I want to use to cut exactly how I want it

2 getting my image I want to place my form first using the clipping mask with

    3. align in place and bring my "form" in front and the picture on the back

then using the selection tool I select all objects, and then click

objects > clipping mask > make

and for some reason any he clips but the image that I have wastring to clip becomes just a white fill...

I have no idea how repair this and its driving me crazy, I can't find a soloution no matter how long I try to repair or do a search...

I've included a few screenshots below

    1.PNG2.PNG3.PNG4.PNG

If you cannot fill the form of cutting, then most likely it isn't a closed path, but several paths. May be grouped together. Of your screenshots, I can't say. You must display it in the layer panel.

According to what it actually is, you need then to dissociate the it or to not composed it then join multiple paths.

And of course, you should read the manual.

  • Files bridge Illustrator creates a clipping mask.

I'd do it stay use B Ridge as a library for my Illustrator files. Only when I supported on SHIFT key when you drag an illustrator file in my document (Illustrator), he translated my work in a plan cutting mask. Anyone have a solution?

I work in Adobe Illustrator CS5. Thnk you.

The problem is not in the economy, but dragging your works of art to bridge in an open file. This way you do not open a .ai, but integrate the .pdf file. He will always be in a clipping mask, because that's the way, PDF are treated when it is placed. Use the library of symbols like Kurt suggested.

  • How to create an object full of objects without the clipping masks

    Hello!

I wanted to ask that I saw a lot of vectors on fotolia and shutterstock like this

    forums.jpg

It is a typical example. world map with diamond. As you can see that there is no clipping mask, but all objects are in the perfect location. It is any script or any plugin or a tip or some way to easily create for these works.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    You need the world map

Then object > mosaic to create objects.

    Ungroup

    Remove all the white squares

Their color randomly (there are scripts to achieve this on Wundes.com)

Then object > transform > transform each: rotate 45 °

Once again object > transform > transform each: scale and select a "random".

Select some of them and change fill and stroke

Select them all and reduce the opacity

  • Why is frequently around logos clipping masks?

I've never really understood this, but often when I download or receive a logo for a company and open the file in Illustrator, there's a clipping mask that the work is grouped in.

Why is this? I don't understand the point of containing the work of logo in a clipping mask... every time I worked on the logos I just group the elements at the end and save it as is.

    What Miss me?

I found that more often, it means that somewhere down the line the logo has been registered in the form (and then open of) a PDF file without "Preserve Illustrator editing capabilities" checked. Clipping maske is the initial size of the art Commission.

  • Create a clipping mask and insert multiple Images, forms, blending options

I am able to do this in Illustrator, but I try to understand how to do this in InDesign.

In InDesign - after I created a custom shape (clipping mask) with the pen tool I drop an image inside the shape (CMD + D).
However, I would like to add other forms or images in this clipping mask and set the blending options. How does this in InDesign?

    Thank you!

    1. Draw or make the mask of future cliping as frame
    2. All put together that you want to be in this context.
    3. Group them
    4. Move them to the location you want them finally
    5. Cut them into your editing table
    6. Select the target image
    7. Change > passed in
  • Automatically create clipping masks

    Hello

I was watching this incredible video-

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=ebVFXphyJqw

    - and I noticed that the flash has a characteristic, which seems to automatically create clipping masks.

She starts using the latter at 01:45. She draws the blue traces and apply gradients of forms that use the blue paths but also underlying art.

I did find a quick way in illustrator to do it like that. (Trace the path - divide - livepaint - new filling can produce such results, but which is too complicated for fast frame...)

There is also a right of the service earlier this year, where it clears the circular path segments. They are cut exactly at the points of intersection. Of course there are scissors and cutting in artificial intelligence, but flash method seems to offer looks a lot more convenient.

Maybe these functions are buried in some side menus in artificial intelligence... I mean, I have Flash CS6, but I feel a lot more comfortable in artificial intelligence.

If you know these features, especially the thing auto mask clipping, please tell me

Try to draw inside the mode in Illustrator.

Regarding the cutting of access roads, try shapebuilder tool, it can also work with paths.

Or the new tool join path (CC 20141)

Or try the clever graphic plugin dynamic sketch

  • Clipping masks and opacity leaving hairline masks light

I'm running a problem when you use a clipping mask or opacity mask in Illustrator CC 17.1. Either the type of mask leaves a contour slightly around the mask object, creating a noticeable pause in what should be a uniform background. A few details:

I created a ring in 4 quadrants. Each quadrant contains objects/models which must be isolated from the other. Above the work of each quadrant, I stick it in Place a copy of the form of the quadrant including background colors and stroke are both set to none, the value of race field is empty, is not set to 0. Which meet the same color in the adjacent areas of each quadrant there is a slight balding. These are intended to be transparent, and I don't know why this is happening. When viewing as outlines, all vectors are overlap perfectly in my eyes.

    quadrants1.pngquadrants2.png

I tried the same thing with simpler forms, as a test and get the same results. In this example of 3 stacked objects, I built forms using form Builder tool (top), mask clipping (the middle one) and mask opacity (bottom):

    mask-test.png

As you can see, the results are not consistent, but there is certainly some weak lines in each case. The constructor of the form doesn't have a line between black shapes for a reason, but there is a conflict between the colours cyan, where hidden objects stacked meet. At the same time, it is the reverse for the 2 following blocks.

I read the posts in this forum and others on what is a matter of anti-aliasing, it will not be printed with weak contours, but not all applications of this graph will go to print. I exported files, PDF and various other formats EPS files. I have not noticed any loose in a TIFF file but the library files that I provide to my client will consist of the vector and other raster such as png and jpg files that do not show the low contours. When I place a PDF or EPS in Illustrator or InDesign layout, the hairlines are so that documents sent electronically, unprinted, have these visible lines. They remain also when I place an EPS in Photoshop that is unacceptable for the construction of graphics for the web.

Can someone tell me if there is a solution to make transitions smoothly between the objects hidden in Illustrator? Or this just an inherent flaw with Illustrator (or maybe my approach to strengthen these graphics)?

    dugost,

There is nothing wrong in the way you work with masks.

It is disturbing that you can see the hairlines in a PDF file, png, and JPEG.

Just to try something that can be stupid: you work in points/pixels, and are the quadrants in integer values (you can see the W and H values in the Transform palette, with integer values for two opposite corner ticked of reference Points and whole)? If this is not the case, what happens if you change to get that?
