Clipping for layer mask disappears

I have a layer, then three layers and more with a clipping mask to the first.

If duplicate layer 1, layer cutting all masks disappers. Why? How can I do instead if I want to copy layer 1?

You just need to re - cut layers. This happens when duplicate you and move things. You can try to put them in a group to manage things a little better.

    Greetings and Salutations!

I am trying to create some jerseys cycling for my friends and I. Im relatively new to Illustrator, so I created my "Proof" in Photoshop.

    Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 4.39.05 PM.png

That's what it is supposed to look like.

Now that evidence has got a helping hand up, I need this vectorize and get ready for printing.

Although I ran into a small issue. Im not sure exactly how I should do to correct this.

I went to bed the contour of the Lion

    Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 9.17.49 PM.png

I then created a layer of 'fill' with an opacity of 50%

    Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 9.18.04 PM.png

Together, they form the feline version of Voltron

    Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 9.18.09 PM.png

Now I need to insert the yellow Lion. So I duplicate the layers and change from light blue to yellow, and this happens because of the opacity of the layer of "filling".

    Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 9.18.26 PM.png

You can see the lion yellow in behind the blue lion! I expected since the fill to 50% layer!

I don't know how to fix this. I thought I'd do a clipping for #2 Lion mask

But wasn't sure if that's what I had to do. Can someone give me advice?

I feel like I'm playing with the unknown technology and ive accidentally created a monster! Halp before he wins the consciousness!

  • stubborn layer masks

Hello geniuses. I think I accidentally changed something in photoshop (cc) and now I seem to be stuck with vector masks. You can add a layer mask to the other layers of filter, right? If I add a layer of color, I should be able to add a layer mask - I am sure that I did a few weeks ago on another file? But this time I can get a vector mask. The icon at the bottom of my window of layers is the vector and is greyed out from under layers menu top layer mask. I did a quick search on google and it said the Brush tool for layer masks and pen tool for vector masks, but I am certainly on the Brush tool then why doesn't it let me have a layer mask? What Miss me? What else can I try please?

Sorry for the misunderstanding Silkrooster. I know where you are coming-it will only process the instructions proposed then I must say it "deal with this path" somewhere.

    And you were right.

I made you a screengrab but trying to recreate the issue, I think I found the answer. The layer mask option passes to the vector mask if you press and hold down command. I have to have my thumb on this subject - I can't imagine why - habit perhaps? I think that's my answer. Thanks for helping me out.

  • Change the layer mask: Alt + Shift + click does not work?

I have PES 9 w/Mac OS X.  According to Adobe using for layer masks, "to display the mask in a mask color red, hold down the Alt + Shift and click on the thumbnail of the layer mask".  It is also stated by Missing Manual for elements.  I can't get this to work and can display the mask only in itself (in black and white).  I have uninstalled/reinstalled without success.  In other words, when I change the mask, I don't see where I'm editing.  Can someone help me?

Exit the editor, then go in your username > library > Preferences and delete:

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 parameters

Repair permissions, and then try again.

  • Is there an equivalent for Photoshop adjustment layer masks After Effects?

I have a clip showing the clouds in a blue sky and the Valley in the bluish shade, and I want to darken the blues of the sky without affecting the Valley. Effects such as Hue/Saturation or curves produce good results on the sky, but apply to the entire composition.

In Photoshop I would just do something like painting a gradient on the adjustment layer mask, but I don't see an equivalent in after effects CC2015.2 and wonder if I forgot something. Pointers?

Mast track controls are in the Modes Panel. The second icon in the lower left corner of the timeline will reveal the switches and modes column in the timeline panel, or you can press F4 to switch between them. If the second icon is not selected, then you should also see a switch at the bottom of the column switches switches/Modes.

Here's how I would setup a colour correction in this train yard shot to put a glance Kodachrome faded on the bottom of the frame without turning the yellow sky.

If you look very carefully between the cars, you can see the start and the end points for my gradient.

Yes, see if the following gives the results you are looking for:

    1. steps 1 and 2 are the same.

    2. the part where it says Add layer mask, click on the background layer and

Add a levels adjustment layer. (Layer > new adjustment layer > levels)  Click on layer 1 and select group with previous.

(Layer > Group with previous or add the clipping mask)

    3. steps 3 and 4, instead of the image to apply it, click the "eye" on the layer levels to

levels of layer and layer 1 is not visible.

Click on the background layer and then do a select all, copy. (Select > all) then (Edit > copy)

ALT-click on the mask of levels and paste (Edit > paste) (a grayscale image will be pasted into the mask).

    Deselect (select > deselect).

4 step 5 is the same.

    5. steps 6 and 7, click on layer 1 to make visible, and then click on the layer mask to levels

to activate the mask, and then run the filter on the mask Gaussian blur.

6 step 8 is the same.

    I hope this helps.

  • I can't click on a layer for editing mask. CS6 OS10.10

I worked on a file, and all of a sudden I can't click on a layer mask to be able to modify this mask. I'm still able to do the following:

    • Create a new adjustment layer. When I do cela a new mask is trained for this layer and automatically selected for editing. I can modify this mask. As soon as I click out of it that I can't come back.
    • I am able to shift + click and command-click on the layer masks and get these options/selections.
    • I can't drag a mask existing to a new adjustment layer.
    • Hide/show the mask collection
    • Almost everything, but click ON the mask and selected for editing.

    I tried the following:

    • Close and reopen the file.
    • Restart photoshop.
    • Restarting my computer.
    • Delete/recreate the preference files.

    Any ideas out there?

I discovered my problem trying to paint on everything I was selected on. He forecast the mask overlay. I thought about it and realized that I must have hit the key 'Q' and put me in quick mask mode.

So now, it's here in case someone else makes this error! :-)

  • Eraser tool does not work for the black layer mask

I'm trying to put a black layer mask and use Eraser tool to change.  Unfortunately the Eraser tool does not.  I'm not knowingly do anything differently that I did in the past.  Recently, I did a round of software updates for CS6.  I was wondering if anyone else is experienceing this and if there is a solution?

Verify that the in the Toolbox foreground color is set to black. (in front of when using the Brush tool)

Press D, and then press the X key.

And opacity and flow are 100%.

Most people use the brush on the layer masks and you might find that works better.

  • Script to create a shadow over each layer mask layer in my document

I tried to find out how this script, but I'm really new script and he couldn't understand. I would like to a script that would create a layer clipping above all layers mask in the document. So, it would create a empty new layer above each existing layer, rename the new layer based on the layer it's on top of + a suffix and apply a clipping for new layers mask.

So, if I had a PSD file with the following layers:

    Layer has

    Layer B

    Layer C

the layers that results would be:

    Layer A_clip

    Layer has

    Layer B_clip

    Layer B

    Layer C_clip

    Layer C

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can I use more than 1 layer in a single layer mask?

    Hi all!

I am a beginner in Photoshop, so everything I do to this tent to complete the tutorials.

At a given time of the lesson I started today, mentions of the description that I must make a selection in the left part of the image, add a layer mask and press Ctrl + Backspace to make the selection disappears. I did it, no problem.

The next step is to do the same in the upper part of the image.

My problem is that I already have an active layer mask and I can't repeat the same steps because I am not allowed by the program to create a second in the same layer.

    What Miss me?

Its very easy really and you do not need more of a mask. The author would probably include a photo of the layers palette for orientation.

I have not used a path to create the edges of the pieces of the puzzle here, but the principle is exactly the same.

    Hope that helps

  • Display problem in 16-bit mode of layer mask

With the new version of CC 2015 of Photoshop, I came across a weird problem in layer mask mixture. Here is an example, what it looks like:

layer blending bug - print screen.jpg

I opened a raw file (.dng) from Lightroom (16 bit, ProPhoto), created a black layer mask and began to paint with pure white. As you can see, the transparency model in the background is always visible, even if the density of the mask is 100% and the white brush was normal and opacity and flow were both 100%. The white layer mask doesn't seem to be completely opaque.

But it's more weird. Then, I put two rectangles in the image. This is the checkerboard disappear, but the color of the rectangles has no effect on the image on the top. So the white layer mask is opaque and not fully opaque at the same time!

I then saved the image in jpeg format and the picture looked like it should be there:

    layer blending bug.jpg

Apparently, the question has something to do with rendering on screen, not the content of the actual image. I also noticed, that changing the picture mode to 16 bits to 8 bits makes the disappearance of the problem. But as I also pay for the 16-bit mode, I would use it...

Everyone found this and you are able to reproduce this behavior? Or am I missing some setting somewhere? Can anyone suggest a solution, or should I just wait patiently as the bug fix?

Layer masks and alpha channels are all 8 bits, regardless of the number of image bits.

What you have tried to solve this problem?  Your video card driver is entirely up to the site of the manufacturer of the card?

What operating system do you use?

  • HImporting layer mask

    Hello

In first Pro CC, I am trying to place a template for photographic film on a video. The model of photographic film can be found here - 35mm model movie | "Gavtrain.com -in Photoshop, the main layer is a layer mask. You can place a picture below, and it will provide that the effect of the picture is behind the film (a few spots of Brown/marks etc. provide this effect). On export as a PNG/PSD, etc., when I import the layers/PNG PSD / individual, I am unable to place a video movement under this layer. Etc alpha channels is not checked on the first file (as already suggested online). I don't want to simply use seizure etc as it does not seem very well with this.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Elliot

Import the PSD file as individual layers. Place the 35mm resulting Gavtrain clip on the timeline above the video that you want to appear in the frame. Control-click on the clip just put you on the line and time in the drop-down menu choose set to the size of the image. Click on the clip you just placed on the timeline to select this option and once selected, go to the effects and vortex Panel open the opacity.

Set the blending mode to multiply.

You will need to scale the video which should be limited within this framework to adapt.

  • After effects layer mask Question.

    Hello

I am a novice and will try to explain this clearly

I used this tutorial as a guide for Lightsaber effects. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=gQ7dC0gWzG0 07:44 video, he explains how to make the effect of going behind the video using a mask... but not using his video, im using an another clip... anways...

"Layer 3" has my video. I the effect of sword "layer 2", at a point in the timeline, I made a new solid layer with the pen tool master on "layer 1" for the effect of sabre on "layer 2" can get behind the main video image, I cut the points of entry and this (works but). "" "

My question is, can I add another solid to the mask 'layer 1' later in the chronology for sabre effect on "layer 2" can get behind the next point, where it should get behind? ".

The problem I had is that for this mask work "layer 1" would seem to be directly on top of the "layer 2". I tried to make a new mask solid, but as it was not directly above "layer 2", it would not work. So, I wonder how do another mask on the layer 1?

    Thank you

Rather than add a new solid, add a second mask to your first solid.
