Cloning of database with ASM to ASM

Hi people,

I have 11.2.0.3.0 of oracle on windows 2008 server R2 64 bit with ASM machine and I have another machine with the same configuration without oracle. Now, I want to clone my database in a new machine with the DSO... I've done cloning of ASM ASM to ASM, ASM no but first, so do not know how to...
Can someone tell me what is the procedure to clone ASM ASM database in remote machine... be very good so will get prerequisites also for this whole process...

Thank you and best regards,
John of Vikash

Hello

You must install (single instance or Cluster) ASM instance grid Infrastructure and you need to add the duplicate database service.
And you can use the command DUPLICATE on RMAN.

can someone tell me, is there any necessary additional files backup for the database with ASM file system?

Just use RMAN to take the backup of the database, no addition of steps or backup files required.

However if you need backup ASM metadata you can use md_backup
metadata contain information of disk path, name of the disk, disk failure groups, the structure of the directory.

  • Regarding the installation of a single instance with ASM in AIX

    Hello
I try to install a single instance with the help of ASM in AIX. I made the requirements for drives prior to installation.
I'm running Universal Installer and I choose the option of database to create.
During the stage of creation of the database, there is a page to choose the types of storage.
I choose the DSO and then click Next.
Caution is open and he tell ASM must CSS and it gives the following to run.
    reset of the/Home/App/tuba2/prod / 10 GR 2/bin/localconfig.

I run but my CSS is not started and it gives the following.
    # localconfig reset
    Successfully accumulated necessary OCR keys.
Creating OCR keys for the user 'root', privgrp 'system '...
    Successful operation.
Configuration for local CSS has been initialized
Stale demon CSS is running... kill now
    Adding inittab
Startup will be queued to init within 30 seconds.
Checking the status of the new Oracle init process...
Expected CRS demons to be in place within 600 seconds.
Abandon: Oracle CSS stack seems to NOT be running.
Oracle CSS service would not start as installed
Automatic storage management (ASM) cannot be used until the Oracle CSS service is started

How can I solve these problems. I'm new in ASM.
    Is there anyone to help?
Is also the way I was using the single instance of the correct installation with ASM? or there is another way that is more efficient for the installation of the database with ASM?

Technically, there is nothing wrong in what you do. Since your log message, it seems, has already CSS configured on your system and is not in a working state.
I would recommend, reconfiguration of the CSS.

Complete the following as root user.

    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/localconfig delete
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/localconfig add
    CD /etc/init.d
    . /init. CSSD run &
    crsctl check crs
And you can check the logs for more from diagnosis to the suite.

    $ORACLE_HOME/log /<$HOST>/cssd/cssdOUT.log
    $ORACLE_HOME/log /<$HOST>/cssd/ocssd.log
    / var/log/messages / *.

  • How to take database backup ASM/Instance?

    Hello

I'm new with ASM. We take ASM/instance of database backup.

can we have the idea to backup ASM?

    1. what components should be saved as database/Instance ASM / ASM all files?

    Please do the needful.

    Thank you
    Nitin

    Hello Nitin,

First of all, you must understand that the RDBMS & ASM instance is different but yes, both are running on the same computer.

ASM includes essentially two things: ASM instance (1) and the storage of the DSO (2).

    (1) ASM instance
    ------------------------

That's just an instance when we do not backup but Yes if you want to keep the ASM instance configuration file then just follow these steps:

    [grid@host01 ~] $. oraenv
    ORACLE_SID = [+ ASM1]? + ASM1
The basic Oracle for ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/11.2.0/grid is/u01/app/grid

    SQL > create pfile='/home/grid/init+ASM1.ora' of spfile;

    Created file.

    (2) ASM STORAGE
    -------------------------

-Storage ASM includes essentially ASM starts, namely new set of disks.

-Whenever we do not create ASM diskgroup diskgroup contains still three things:

    (a) disc ASM
    (b) models and metadata
    (c) the ASM files (essentially datafile or all database files)

-We take backup of two things on three things in ASM diskgroup:

    (1) ASM files - with RMAN because these are files of database.
    (2) ASM diskgroup models & metadata - with the MD_BACKUP of ASMCMD command.

Now, MD_BACKUP will create a backup as your specified location file and this file will includes all models and metadata of the diskgroup. Benefits of taking diskgroup metadata are, if we lost the diskgroup, so we do not worry some details configuration command MD_RESTORE use to recreate the diskgroup with the same configuration. But remember that it does not restore the data file or any other file that was there on the diskgroup going to use RMAN to restore the missing files.

    See the example:

    ASMCMD > lsdg

  • create the database in ASM

    Hello
in 10.2.0.4, I create (not ASM) database with the following script:
    CREATE DATABASE DEVLPT10
    USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY oracle
    USER SYSTEM IDENTIFIED BY oracle
    LOGFILE GROUP 1 ('/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/redo1/redo01.log') SIZE 15M,
    GROUP 2 ('/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/redo2/redo02.log') SIZE 15M,
    GROUP 3 ('/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/redo3/redo03.log') SIZE 15M
       maxdatafiles 254
       maxinstances 8
       maxlogfiles 32
       character set WE8ISO8859P15
       National Character Set UTF8
    DATAFILE '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/noyau/system_01.dbf' SIZE 2048
    SYSAUX DATAFILE '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/noyau/sysaux_01.dbf' SIZE 350M
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE BIG_TBS
    DATAFILE '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/donnees/big_tbs_01.dbf'
    SIZE 200M EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL
    DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp
    TEMPFILE '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/temp/temp_01.dbf'
    SIZE 150M
    UNDO TABLESPACE undotbs1
    DATAFILE '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/undo/undotbs_01.dbf'
    SIZE 200M AUTOEXTEND ON MAXSIZE UNLIMITED;

    CREATE TABLESPACE BIG_TBS_IDX DATAFILE
      '/home/oracle/oracle/instances/oradata/DEVLPT10/indexes/BIG_TBS_IDX_01.DBF' SIZE 1024M AUTOEXTEND OFF
    LOGGING
    ONLINE
    PERMANENT
EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 64K
    SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT MANUAL;
Now I will create a DB in ASM. What does not change in the syntax of path of the data file?

Suppose that we wish to have:

    + DGDATA_DB/mydb/datafile/sysaux...

    Thank you.

If you do not use FIU, you must use the instance parameters DB_CREATE_ONLINE_LOG_DEST_n http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/initparams045.htm#CHDCEGFH. For example:

    DB_CREATE_ONLINE_LOG_DEST_1='+DGREDO01_FSCM'
    DB_CREATE_ONLINE_LOG_DEST_2='+DGREDO01_FSCM'

  • 11G with ASM and RDBMS problem when the server reboot (dependencies)

    Hello

I just install the new version 11G with ASM for the first time. When I restart my server, RDBMS start before the ASM service isn't over to start. It's like when the care services, CSS and EVM have been replaced by the OH dependencies have been lost. The OH service is started but it's as if he is not optional and others start immediately (ASM and RDBMS).

Early restart, I see the OHservice started and the DSO after that (on the road), but when the RDBMS starts the instance handle of stay (inactive and not mount) because unit number logic for the catalog of service is not available yet. I see in the alert.log to RDBMS catalog segment is not found or not existing (/ catalog not nfound).

If I wait about 3 to 5 minutes and restart only the RDMBS all start without problem.

Is there a way I can adjust the stop with the 11g version service or use the crsctl to indicate to the RDBMS service start only when all the ASM service (MON) segment are mount?

    Thank you

Normally the database is started by the clusterware and not by the windows service.

Thus, there could be 2 ways to do this:
(a.), try to assign the Windows of the database service to manual. It must be started by clusterware.

If that doesn't work, try this:

    (b) leaving the service to automatic startup (Windows), but disable the automatic start of the database. This you can normally change in the registry
    -Online-online Oracle-online key HKLM => ORACLE__AUTOSTART
(not 100% sure on the key, but I'm sure that you'll be able to find it.)

Unfortunately do not have atm WindowsCluster to try it myself.

Additional please check if your db instance has the correct dependencies defined in the clusterware.
    Make one

stat ora res crsctl. .db Pei

    and paste it here.

    So good luck...

    Hello

Try to start database, when it says connected to Instance inactive.

I've also faced same situation recently.

If it does not start and light error ORA-01102 failed to mount database in exclusive mode .

Then kill all the processes associated with your Instance.

After killing all processes try to start your database with the appropriate environment variable.

    Kind regards

  • Create the copy of database no ASM to ASM database to different server

I am looking for the way the more faster/easier create a copy of a large database (230 GB).
    The situation is the following:

The source database is on an instance not Oracle ASM (on the machine).

I would like to create a copy of this database and place it on computer B.

Machine B has an ASM instance on this and I would like to as the database to use the
Groups of ASM disks that are configured on this computer.

I've seen examples of using "rman duplicate" to create a copy of a database
but they do not seem to take into account cases where the source database is
ASM no and the destination database uses ASM.

Database for the source and destination versions are 10.2.0.1.0.

I would appreciate any advice on how to achieve this.

    Thank you very much.
