closing button missing - windows 7 Home premium

A day without any reason at all, my options to stop and restart my computer disappeared from my Start menu.
Only options are Log Off, lock and change username (change username is not highlighted, so I can't select it).

I use Windows 7 Home Premium edition on a HP laptop.
I had for 10 months and have had no problems so far.

Here's what I told you to try, but did not work:

(1) I have tried restoring the system running, but it never succeeds.  It is said:
"It is probably because an antivirus program is running on your computer.  Temporarily disable your antivirus and restart System Restore. »
I use Microsoft Security Essentials, Zone Alarm and Ad Aware.  I have disabled all 3, set them not to open the Windows startup, even uninstalled Security Essentials, and he still don't restore me at any point I chose.

(2) I can't run "gpedit.msc" in the program execution or the bottom of the start menu.
(I'm told that it is not available for Home editions)

(3) I can't right-click on the command prompt in the Menu of the star.  Make a right click has no effect.  Only the left click opens, and so I don't see any option to 'run as administrator '.
(I'm not even sure this is important because under the control of the accounts user/form I am listed as 'Administrator').

(4) right click on "All programs" in the Menu start don't give me an option "Properties".  In this window under the "Start Menu" tab, there is a drop down menu to select "the power button action", but my only options are still "Log Off" and "lock".
(I had originally my power button action on sleep;) Eh_bien, the computer is still asleep when I press the power, but the option listed in this dropdown is just an empty space)

Things I think can be a clue to the problem:
-I don't know how to say Ad Aware to not start automatically at Windows startup
-the oldest system restore restore point gives me is 10 days (10/21), nothing more

Hello all, I found the problem.

Respondus Lockdown browser

I had to use it to take a review of Spanish for my online class.  The program locks you on a specific page in a specific browser so that you can't "cheat" and use online translators.  I guess that she always had her fingers in some of my pies once I left, because I know at some point during this test, my internet connection was wrong, which led me to having to leave the program prematurely.

That's what I alluded to in my post on 11 November (#2 ' I THINK... "), but I didn't think it was just the program itself.  I thought it was hang 2 computers to the same connection.  I thought somehow both were fighting for the rights of administrator, and "it may be one."  I uninstalled everything and everything is back to normal.

Anyway, I'm sorry for the confusion and frustration.  I tell you this in case someone has a similar problem in the future.  Since good people here now you know the problem, I hope that you can work behind him and coming up with a verification of diagnostic or troubleshooting any thing-or - on the contrary.  I imagine that there is a sort of check I could have run in Windows 7 that would have told me that something is accidentally hung up on my administrator rights while he sleeps.

    Microsoft cannot help you with acer dell oem vista DVD replacement etc.

    Contact dell for them to send you an if necessary REPLACED recovery disk

    and you are using a recovery disk dell, you will need to contact dell for recovery vista problems as is the process of recovering dells not microsofts

    It's really frustrating.

    First thing, I looked for. The "Share With" was not there either. Abandoned and went the long way on this subject for that to be resolved more quickly.

    A disk image backup, re-installed Windows 7 and found the ntshrui.dll keys in the registry and it has exported to my office. Restore the disk image and import the key in my registry.
    All back to normal now. Tab share is present. Problem solved.

    Versions of Windows beyond Windows XP are not entirely compatible with Acrobat 6. The first version of Acrobat that is supported by Windows 7 is Acrobat 8.1 (is no longer licensed by Adobe). The latest version of Acrobat: Acrobat Columbia, six versions more recent than Acrobat 6. You need to upgrade to get all the features of Acrobat.

    Hi Michelle.  I thought about it. To install the program, go the downloaded zip [Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 (Download)] folder, then open the "64 bit", then double-click on the "PhotoshopElements_13_LS25_win64" application  Who will run the program.  I hope this helps.  David

    I recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 on my HP G71-340US notebook.  The installation went well except that when the computer is started, I found that the PC did not find any wi - fi connections.  After further investigation, I found that the network controller do not have a driver installed.  I downloaded the latest software of NIC driver on the HP website (via ethernet cable) and directed the pilot.  Updated the Realtek PCIe Controller Family driver, but the driver for network controller did not.  As a result, I could not even connect to wi - fi networks.  The information of the network adapter are listed below for reference.  Your help would be greatly appreciated to resolve this issue.  Thank you.

    It is generally not a good idea to use Windows Update to hardware device drivers (video, audio, network) because Microsoft does not know what are the best drivers for your system.  Always get material on the www of manufacturers if possible device drivers (if you want your system to work properly).

    If you ever see updates of hardware driver provided by Windows update that I would refuse them, and then hide them if you do not install the wrong drivers accidentally.

    Here you can see where I chose not to install and then hidden Windows updates for an NVIDIA graphics card since I know that they are probably not right and I know I should get only the right NVIDIA from WWW NVIDIA site drivers.

    For text prediction, you must enable the tablet pc options.

    To do this, go to the control panel. Select programs. In the left pane, select turn windows features turn on or off. Scroll for Tablet PC components and to activate, make sure that the box is checked.
