Closing problems

I use a HP s5310f, mem 4 GB, 600 gb hd, IE8, Norton 2010

All of a sudden, whenever I made a web page, I get the error message a problem has been detected (see stopwatch).

I did not download anything except an ext file converter, that works very well.

Any ideas why this happens?

Thanks Big Dave and Hanspuppa. Problem solved. Thanks for the link.

Appreciate your help.

  • Windows 7 - closing problems

    Hello

I am a user of Windows 7 and I've been experiencing problems with the closing in recent times. When I try to shut down my computer, the icons in the taskbar and desktop disappear as they usually do, but the screen freezes, showing only my desktop background. The shutdown process then freezes and I can just turn off my computer by holding the power button. This happens all the time now.
I had the computer check my disk drives and had the antivirus scan antimalware software. No error or no malware has been found, so I was always unable to find the root of the problem. I checked to see if I would meet similar problems with the computer log off or sleep, but it carried out these two functions normally, so it seems that the problem has to do with closure only.
If someone here had the same problem and nobody knows what else I could do to fix this? Thank you very much!

Do not press the power button to turn off the computer or to solve a gel. Click on the ORB at the bottom left of the desktop and click on stop. If you are having problems closing then select Ctrl + Shift + Esc to bring up the Task Manager and click the Applications place the cursor on a running application to select and click on the end task button. As the application is removed from the list, repeat the procedure on the next application in the list until all are gone from the list. If you use the taskbar to access programs simply close all open windows. Then, you should be able to shut down your computer.

I suggest that you look in Event Viewer. To access control panel, tools of administration, Event Viewer, select start the event viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Applications and Services. Expand Applications and Services, Microsoft, Windows, Diagnostics-performance and click operational. You are interested in an any with a numbered from 201 to 209 (inclusive) event ID. Open the report and click on copy and paste into a new message here. I'm only interested in single copies to repeat the (identical) reports and a part of the report up to and including the description. Please, do not post several copies of the reports.

    Hello

If someone has written so far, it is not easy to say why the problem occurs. Who knows what you did last time with the unit done?

Have you tried to restore the operating system on time earlier?
What you mean with recovered? Preinstall the device using a Toshiba recovery media? If you think that this is caused by the network card wireless remove from Device Manager and reboot the device.

I found a lot of different forums to similar theme but I have not found any concrete solution.

  • (Closed) Problem with Advanced call

My wife and I have the turbo and love. I had to disable the function call of HD on my wife's phone because she was unable to make or receive calls. He begins to give her problems about 5 days ago. Before that, she had no problem. Someone at - it and ideas or suggestions for this problem?

We have other threads with the same question. Short holiday off HD calls. The Association knows there is a problem and has several tickets on this subject. It comes out before you are ready from current principal. I'd wait until what an update just before I turn it back on.

  • N100 random diferrent closing problem... RESOLVED (clik for solution)

Hi, this is my first post...

    I bought a friend a Lenovo 3000 n100 0768-6vg(made in 06/08)

It worked fine except for the drums, which I think he's dead...

When I connect power cord the charge led flashes red once then green and stays like that for about 4-5 seconds... sometimes after a few minutes it starts to blink red as he is in charge, but he died iven after 20 minutes...

in any case I don't mind the battery problem... the main thing as it sounds...

I started the leptop and worked verry well, answered all the functions but I disliked the windows install so I installed a new copy then the problems started...

He had originally Windows xp home edition and I wanted to install windows xp sp2, a new install...

After installing windows, when I was a few steps to end install, the leptop suddenly shutted down

now when I try to start windows, after 5-10 minutes it randomly stops

Iven if I left it in bios mode it stops... I managed to get into windows and install SpeedFan to check temperatures and it is said that the cpu has aprox. 48-50 degrees celsius in normal mode...

After a reboot I tried to stress him out and get a maximum of 60 to 65 degrees...

I am desperate... I have tried averything... power without battery... no hard drive (with an xp live usb)...

    could someone help please?

PS: I have experience in the repair of office but this thing is relatively new to me...

an update of the bios could not solve my problem? : s

I found the problem by a mistake ... .the how it happened

I opened the leptop and close to the circuit of battery I saw something strange... I think that a liquid has managed to enter... I have only out cleanead and nothing... I removed the battery but still nothing...

the solution I found sounds is like this:

If you remove the battery charger wile it is still plugged, the 'bad' run will remain in the leptop through capacitors... Yes,

    Unplug the charger...

    Battery remov...

leave it like that for 1 to 2 minutes wile pressing the power button (to drain run it), and then reconnect the charger without the battery...

and voila, the liptop works fine without restarts and other animals

I hope this will help others who encounter this problem... at least they can try this before taking the leptop at a service center

    Cheers!

  • Laptop Dell Studio 1555, closing without notice

I bought my laptop Dell 1555 about 14 months ago, and about 3 months ago I started having this problem. The laptop shuts down randomly without warning, as the power cable has been removed or something. It never happened, when the computer is idle, it occurs when you are using Java applications, and more recently when playing games, for example counter-strike: Source. I was told that this problem was due to overheating, so I tried to clean any dust which may be included in the section fan with a can of air spray a couple of times, but still the laptop stops randomly. I installed the latest version of the BIOS, but that has no effect. Does anyone know a fix? My warranty has run out, so I want to try and hold and to send it to Dell if possible. Any help is appreciated.

OK I WAS WRONG, this random shutdown problem was due to the video probe going off...

So in my previous post, I was talking about how everything worked fine when I was on the battery, but it turns off randomly at the time wherever I have to plug my power adapter... Well, it's the reason why...

When you plug in the AC adapter, change power settings, so to change this--> click the battery icon, and then click "power options more"--> here, you have your power plans--> click on "Change Plan settings" for plan whatever you use now-->, and then click "Change advanced settings for power"--> Ok so here U will see a lot of positions under click on each of them , can do all the "connected:" equal settings to "battery on:" parameters (it worked for me) If you experience closing problem even when you are on battery, try turning down all these options, you MUST TURN IN all areas related to your Card(The name tags are pretty self-explanatory,You'll understand when you have a look at them) chart... Leave things alone CPU, unless this still does not work after that you turn down the graphics part...

So, why do all this? Well you grant effectively down the performance of your laptop in turn = less processing is done in a time = which means less heat is produced portable = want to extinguish sometimes clumsy :) (that is to say in the middle of a presentation, at the same time where you were going to present this VERY important assignment or when you wrote just code 500 lines long on Matlab and everything crashes, and all files associated with it gets corrupted etc... either incidentally, all of these things did happen)... And why what happens beginning all after 2 years of beat (in my case, might be early for some of you out there) well thermal glue on your graphics card fades with time, so it is not eliminate heat from the GPU as it used of... for this purpose your GPU will still work at very high temperatures around 101 c, in my case, when he does absolutely nothing! [I discovered this when I ran Dell Diagnostics... [If you're interested, check it out, he made a very thorough control, and allows you to pin point hardware part is faulty]... so, how is this related to the power adapter, well, if you check in the power setting, as I already said, when you plug in the AC adapter, the laptop switches from the GPU, Powersave mode to--> GPU maximize performance mode , so slow temperature Monte, then when you start using your laptop, like move your mouse or by opening a web browser, a little bit of your GPU will be used, which might make it a little warmer and passing the max temperature, actually trigger the security mechanism which turns off your computer...

This method may not work for you, if the thermal glue has completely disappeared... In this case, you may need to change... Just to make sure that, glue/heatsink / fan blocked is the real problem, run the Dell Diagnostics make the "long version", it takes a while, but it checks everything.

So drop my laptop performance helped me? YES, 100%... I can't play games on my laptop, but I can still surf the net, play music, watch movies and use office + some of my programs of Engineering (Matlab, etc)... This should get another 8-10 months, "Hopefully, fingers crossed :))"

While this said about DELL laptops! They SUCK BIG TIME! I may BE a FAN 2 years ago BUT NOT NOW!... People, spend a little more money and BUY APPLE!, I have a few friends who have been with them for over 3 years and they don't SLOW DOWN, MORE than HEAT or to randomly turn OFF! ... So if you want your phone to last at least 3-4 years go APPLE! (Mac Book Pro)... I hated he was surfing systems with low card, 2 years ago but now its seems they is not that expensive, as well as all specifications are really good... for $2000, you can get a good model, compared to a dell for $1500, you pay $500 extra, quality and peace of mind :)...

  • U410 tries to recover.

I'm in a bit of an impasse, then hope - hope - someone here can help me. My u410 worked very well about three hours ago, I installed nvidia Geforce experience - it force-update my drivers to the last "stable drivers' and as a result of the operating system all started stuttering, to the point that it was unsuable, so I restarted it - was going to just uninstall the geforce experience when I managed to wrestle control of the operating system again.

.. Except that it now blue screens and reboots at startup. Even worse, it screens on any attempt to boot into safe mode, or the recovery of blue - I had even desperate enough to attempt to reinstall windows completely, but the two boot from external dvd and a usb drive - installation windows just of loads to a black screen.

I bought the used laptop and the previous owner had not erased windows out of it, and I had no way to connect in it, so I had to reinstall windows when I got it, so I know that was installed before.

I am honestly at the end, I just bought this phone two weeks ago, it's a kind of horrowing thinking about a bad driver literally just killed.

EDIT: I must point out that I tried to install ubuntu and it went through fine, and I'm pretty sure that's not the hard drive. Support of ubuntu for the u410 is unfortunately quite catastrophic, and I would really like to get windows back.

Edit2: Tried a key recovery, a few attempts to start windows again.

Assume that this can be closed, problem solved; I have on a whim, tried to install USB after setting the sata to compatibility mode, and it worked fine.

  • Windows XP Home SP 3 won't stop or suspend.

It is an old laptop Fujitsu-Siemens, ca. 2005, German edition of Windows XP Home Edition.

-When I choose "Shut Down" on the start menu, the product of procedure normally stop until the final screen with the bottom of the welcome and the "Windows is shutting down" message... ». At this point, there is a swirl of disk activity that lasts about 30 seconds, then nothing. The only way to turn off the computer is manually pressing the power button for four seconds.

At no time do the message "It is now turn off the computer," so I don't think that it is a problem of ACPI. At the same time, I get no error message when I start the machine later.

I tried 'all the usual suspects' - cleaning of Norton and McAfee, the registry changes in order to reduce downtime, register ACPI settings. Nothing has worked. The system running AVG Free Edition 2011, but this closing problem since I got the laptop.

The problem is also there in safe mode. The computer will not restart or suspend, either - in both cases, he leaves me to welcome blue background screen (without the home - only stop messages).

As a user of Linux/Unix for a long time, I would address this problem by making the traces of the stack, ps, high and looking at the newspapers, but newspapers XP (Event Viewer) don't tell me something meaningful and there seems to be no way to "look under the hood" to see what is actually happening during this phase of stop - if I could see that I would have this problem corrected in a few seconds.

I would be grateful for the advice of a Windows guru, who can show me what I'm missing or hurt.

  • 14 H closing random Qosmio X 500 problem

My laptop is almost 2 years old and I have had this problem for a few months. I thought that this is due to overheating which usually used to happen when I play games that require high performance and when I touch the upper part of the keyboard under the screen, it gets really hot. However, lately this shutdown problem became even more strange and confusing. Now, it stops completely at random with no warning it just cuts the power all of a sudden.

Normally when I play the sims 3, which is a game that requires all at the same time I want to say, the ram, processor, graphics... and I've never had my fans cleaned or got a thermal paste, the basic form since I bought my laptop. So, I thought after almost 2 years, overheating was pretty normal since I use my laptop for most in my room which is a very great place to collect dust easily. But I guess the problem is deepr than that.

Lately my laptop stops randomly even 'without' overheating while playing games, watching movies.
    In the example,.

-Once I download something, no application was working, I was in the office, everything was cool, then it suddenly stopped.

-Sometimes I can play a game for hours without any problem, but sometimes after playing like a few minutes (the same game) it stops.

-Finally, today, I got a new game ("lucius" lol) that works perfectly on the laptop of my brother (not a toshiba) but on my laptop, it stops right after the video intro without exception every time that I start the game.

In all cases when it stops, I can easily restart without any problem right after. Of course, this issue is very very annoying and no matter what I did I couldn't fix it. I reinstalled windows, bios update, update my driver nvidia, no difference. Also no sign of a virus or anything as that can cause that.
I'm afraid I might have to consider for the service I want even if it is still under warranty. The problem is I don't know how long it will take for toshiba to fix and they will provide me with a temporary portable while mine is far away? You know, some car insurance companies provide such a service when your car is destroyed, they give you another car so that they are fixed. Wandering just something like that would be possible... Well well... probably not.

Anyway, sorry for the super long post. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Veronica

To be honest, I don't think that anyone here in the forum would be able to tell exactly what's going wrong with your laptop.
You're right, high temperature can cause the system to stop, and I think that this should be verified at the beginning.

    You said:
    > I use my laptop in my room which is a very great place to collect dust easily.

I put t know how you use Notepad, but DON T use in bed or place it on your knees. You must ensure that the vents placed downstairs are always free. The unit has to breathe and the fresh air should flow correctly. If this isn't the case, the system would be closed to prevent the equipment from damage

You also said you never cleaned the vents. This should be done. I m using the jet of compressed air to remove dust, you can try this tool too. Otherwise if you n t have too much experience, I recommend to ask someone who knows what to do

Have you tried to recover the laptop in the past? Its worth a system try corrupted can cause these problems too using the Toshiba Recovery disk would fix the unit to the factory settings.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 5: problem closing options...

    Hi all

I have laptop Satellite A200 - 1 M 5; but he has a very annoying problem that I have found a solution for this. When I choose all options to stop (Reset, sleep, shutdown, Hibernate) it does not work according to the needs. I mean that when I stop it will reset, when I do sleep its reactivation directly but the HARD drive does not work and the stay of the black screen and when I Hibernate it resets if it makes its features. I checked the power settings, but all are good.

Also, I did a cover for my laptop using the recovery CD but the problem persists. On the other hand, I noticed that when I plug the charger the closing of work and the other are always the same.

Can someone help me please... knowing I bought it just before 2 months and this problem exists since that time.
