CM500 and CM600 public or private IP assigned to the router?

I would like to use my router port forwarding for remote access to devices on my local network such as IP cameras. I know that with a built-in modem/router, that this can be done - I have it working now.

Will be working with a router and a separate modem transfer port? The reason I ask, is that, in my opinion, most modems assign a private attached router IP address and not the public IP address. What I want to know is:
1 - CM500/600 modems have the ability to assign the public IP address to a router?
2 - port forwarding will still work when a router has been assigned an IP address private? I'm not a network expert, but conceptually the modem converts public IP + port x private IP + port x?
3. when a router is configured to send the WAN IP of a dynamic DNS service address to send it assigns a private IP address or does it have the ability to determine the public IP address and send it?

Thank you

If you are on the network from Time-warner, they should assign a public IP address and for example if you connect CM500 Cable modem with a router R7000, thr router will receive the public IP address and you won't have a double NAT situation.

I didn't know what ISP you had service with. some ISPS in Asia provides private users IP addresses, and it will create double NAT situation.

I have not seen any ISP so far providing US with private IP addresses, but I've only worked with Time Warner and Comcasts. Not sure about smaller players.

    Printers configured in this mode are better develop a fixed TCP/IP address.  Your printer manual should tell you how to do this.  In general, there is a 'Settings' menu on the printer where it can be defined.  The IP address should usually have the first three digits than other devices on the subnet (for home networks it would be something like 192.168.1.x) and the final number should be unique and apart from the DHCP numbers range that your router would normally assign (see the manual of your router).

    You can configure static NAT for 1:1 for the SAA outside interface with a spare public ip address of the router address.

    If you don't have spare public ip address, then you must configure static UDP/500 and UDP/4500 PAT on the router and enable NAT - T on the SAA.

  • Configure the router WRT54G with the PUBLIC IP address and use the DHCP protocol for internal computers

    Hello

    I have a service online Internet with 5 public IP addresses.

    The router and the AP are connected to a switch.

    I would like to set up a WRT54G Router with a public IP address and use DHCP (with private ip address) for the computers that will connect to the AP.

    That the AP is connected to the switch, it is possible that the other wired computers that are connected to the same switch can get an IP from the DHCP?

    Thanks in advance

    In this case, the routing is automatic.

    WRT54G configuration:

    WAN:

    Internet connection: static IP address

    IP address: 180.X. X 170

    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.248

    Gateway: 180.x.x.x (Ex: 180.x.x.1)

    DNS: servers your ISP DNS

    LAN:

    The IP address of the router: 10.10.10.1

    DHCP range: 10.10.10.100 of-online 10.10.10.200

    Thank you.

    Under the documentation:

    Tip:

    To save a public report, the developer must select Save Report Public must be selected under include in the Actions Menu on the report attributes page. Developers can also apply for authorization scheme to enable or disable save the Public report. See "Customizing the search report interactive bar".

    I have a client who has a RSV4000 router. The customer also bought a block of 5 usable public IP addresses. • Can I have a home network that is a mix of wired and wireless, and be able to use devices connected to the pc without wire while working from a pc cable and the network map will show all?

    I have a router Linksys Wireless-N-large band with 4 catches on and 1 ethernet to my internet modem cable. Wireless connections work well in my relatively small house. Rather than to buy several USB wireless receivers, I thought just to use the ethernet # 1 and plug it into my computer close to the router.

    Any computer that can connect to the router (wire or wireless) can be part of the same network.

    Hello

    After a reinstall of the operating system, you must reinstall the latest drivers from your computer manufacturer's website:

    Go to the website to make your computer > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

    < personal information under the direction of the host >

    Please do the following and after each test to see if the problem is resolved - if yes, then you can omit the following steps - I tried to list them in ascending order of the effort at least on a Mac and / or an iDevice

    1. Check if the problem is related to a single device and if other devices connect normally-
    2. If the answer 1 is 'yes' - try to connect the device assigned to somewhere else if possible - coffee or the University
    3. Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and Apple access points
    4. Perform a forced - restart cela do not delete or purge all data and allows to solve many problems - here is how - press and hold the Off / On Home button and at the same time for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Allow normal startup upward.
    5. Settings - WiFi - < network name > - Click on forget network - do a restart forced 4 and then again add the network
    6. If home - reboot the router by unplugging it for 60 seconds (power) and the plug and reconnect - obviously, this step can be done in a public place like a cafe or airport or University. While you're there - make sure your router is working on the latest firmware (check manufacturer's website)
    7. Settings - general - reset - Reset network settings - remember to have very practical WiFi passwords because it erases the WiFi passwords
    8. If it is a new specific net device in your home - make sure that the router gives enough DNS for all numbers which must / wants a connection - stuff like the printer, Chromecast get overlooked - ask for more details on this so not sure option
    9. Backup the device to iTunes - restore as NEW (no backup) using iTunes - see if solves problem - if yes - restore backup
    10. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.
  • Port of public to private ip address mapping

    I'm trying to change a netopia router in Bridge mode and put a UTM5 behind the bridge newly netopia.

    I see in the netopia there are several IP cards that take some of the assigned public addresses and direct them to addresses internal ip. I need to know if this is possible on the UTM5. I added the other public IP addresses on the Wan as well as the default.

    I need to do the following (example used IPs):

    64.129.001.001--> 192.168.1.151
    64.219.001.002--> 192.168.1.152
    64.219.001.003--> 192.168.1.153
    etc...

    Someone at - it any information on how to get this feature within the UTM5

    Hmm ok, thanks for the info.

    From what I see and read, when the Netopia is placed in bridge mode, it erases all the Routing and IPMaps out unfortunately, so why I think that the UTM5 should do the mapping.

    Granted I'm not very familiar with the characteristics of the Netopia and this is an old old installation. Just buying some time before the line is replaced by a more stable connection.

    UPDATE:

    Looks like that the Netopia is mapped correctly because I deleted an IPMap of the device and address was still ping successfully at least, so I set myself follows her and hope that it works:

  • 2600 NAT outside public to private inside addresses

    I would like to put servers with private addresses at disposal of guests (with public addresses) on the other side a router. Can someone give me a pointer?

    TIA

    you want to configure static NAT.

    Suppose that 10.10.1.5 is the server inside and 193.234.211.12 is your free external IP. Joanie configure this line:

    ' ip nat inside source static 10.10.1.5 193.234.211.12.

    And all those who will have access to the external IP address will go to internal (static nat)

  • The IP address private VC directly to the public IP address

    Hello

    I'm a bit puzzled as to why a specific call, I saw worked for a couple of guests and wonder if there was no change in the situation in the H.323 protocol that allows a form any NAT crossing built natively into the codec without involving and external gateway function.

    the reason I ask is the following

    I got a call from a customer with a codec on a private no routable IP to my system that is located on a public IP address, the client had no details of NAT configuration in the endpoint and was able to call my system directly without issue by calling directly to my public IP address.

    historically now if I had a system on a private IP address was sitting behind a NAT, I expect that the public system IP would see no routable IP address of the H.225 message and try to answer the private IP RTP media that would not go through, it does not seem to occur.

    the call that I have lived seemed ends without problem, media flowed in both directions.

    My endpoint is a Cisco edge 85 on the version of the firmware F9.x

    the other codec parts is an 85 edge on the version of the firmware F9.x

    My codec is on a public IP address that is completely open to the H.323 ports

    the other codec parts is on a private IP address.

    while I can't call the other party, the other party may call for me, and I wonder how it worked, taking into account the fact that there is no gateway service aware H.323 in the call, either a VCS or aware firewall H.323.

    Experience, firewalls and other gateways outside of Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom, have struggled to deal with the new H.323 version, again this is why I'm puzzled as to why the call worked.

    I did a bit of reading on the new version of H.323 and noticed the option multiplex logical channel, however on a call where I saw this apparently works again of a life-size codec for a Codian MCU 4505 shows no sign of this logical channel multiplex, unless that is named differently in the newspapers that the ITU document calls the function.

    greatly appreciated all all all the answers, I don't understand exactly how the firewall impact VC calls.

  • Specifying the NIC Public private network cards during the Installation of the grid

    Version: 11.2
    Operating system: Solaris

    We will install the 11.2 grid.
    These are IP addresses, we will allocate for the Public sector and private Interfaces
    bge0--->10.80.143.214 ---- for public network (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )

    bge1--->172.132.116.81 ----- for private Interconnect (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )
    But, during the Installation of the grid, the grid Setup will ask only those IPs with the last byte 0 as shown below url
    bge0--->10.80.143.0 ---- for public network

    bge1--->172.132.116.0 ----- for private Interconnect
    http://4.BP.blogspot.com/_0ut-UEg1S3k/SqI3w1QgVLI/AAAAAAAAA1w/Zq6jwWWh_48/S1600-h/8.PNG

    The installer actually displays the "subnet". But Public and private NIC of the subnet is 255.255.255.0
    Is this really? Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

    Hello
    Litte Note:

    Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

    The cluster runs under Network (e.g. 10.80.143.0) under any one or two IP, because several IP addresses of the network in question can be used (it is about scalability and availability), you install a cluster it show the networks used, not used IP (this occurs in any system of cluster, you must specify the network).
    Kind regards

  • Oracle synonyms: public or private

    The LiveCycle installation instructions specify that for the creation and initial filling of the database THESAURUS 'CREATE' privilege is necessary. I presume this means LK who actually will use to create synonyms. The DBA is now whether these synonyms will be public or private, and I can't find in the documentation. Could someone advice?

    Can you share the URL where it is documented and the version of database you set up? In line with the preparation for installation , the Oracle user account must have the following privileges:

    • CREATE SEQUENCES
    • CREATE VIEW
    • UNLIMITED TABLESPACE

  • Public vs private

    When I publish my application through the creator of folio tools gives me the possibility of Public or private. Can someone explain exactly what they mean? If I put it to the private sector can I still share it with customers? They have to sign in their applications of Content Viewer with my login or can they still use their own? What about the Public? Who can see it then?

    I assume that these decisions have no impact when I eventually send the app to iTunes, or are they?

    When you publish a folio as private, the folio is published on the service of distribution (Akamai servers rather than acrobat.com servers), and it is available only in the viewer of the iPad. The private folio appears in the library without the blue band. When you publish a folio as Public, you make it available to all of you who have your custom Viewer.
