Colors are saturated on my laptop Windows 7 Dell XPS 1640 Studio RGB display.

Hello, I am a budding photographer, and I just replaced my Dell inspiron with the foregoing.  With simple calibration of my editing software on my old screen colors corresponding pretty well all the printed photos (that I send to an online photo lab), some minor differences, but nothing major and I could live with that.  Read these same pictures on this new machine, all the colors seem to be saturated.  I tried to use my software calibration and calibration of screen of Windows 7 and it doesn't do anything for too bright colors... which would be fine if that's what looked like really potos. There is no way I can change anything because of the oversaturated colors.

Is there a way to make less bright colors? and where can I find that on the computer?  I still use my old computer to edit etc my photos, but it's a pain in the thigh.

Thanks for any help I can get.

Jessie

I have no idea why Azeez Nadeem responded with advice on setting resolution - or (worse!), which suggests that adjust you the actual images (using the brightness or contrast - in the Windows Photo Gallery of all things, but ignore his position.

What can happen is one of two things.

1. I think it's pretty unlikely - but it is possible to distance that the images were still very saturated and your old screen - and your old printer - simply print them in a flat way and while that worked for you, it is possible that you have too be corrected to compensate for the flatness and now with this new computer, you really see what images really look like - like I said , it's probably little likely-, if you print to a different printer (or a JPEG image or two on an SD card from Wal-Mart or Costco for printing - well, you can see what is this that...)

2. you new monitor has some very saturated Hi gamma system default settings or use some profile management of range wide color and it displays your normal images incorrectly, and they appear very contrast and saturated or...

so, you have to adjust them...

  • Connection continues deleting Windows 10 Dell XPS 8300

    Hi all

I have problems with my Dell XPS 8300, I installed the new 10 windows a few weeks back and since the installation of connection to internet keeps falling.

My internet is with Virgin Media and I connect directly via an Ethernet cable to the router.

Said my Broadcom Netlink gigabit Ethernet network card

After doing some research I think my card is called BCM57788

    Thank you

I'm glad to hear that I am not on my lonesome.

I did as you did and downloaded the Intel scanner from their site. The only thing he told me was that I need a later version. INF file.

I also watched the page drivers Dell, which is not up-to-date. Intel reported the update is not listed, but there is a BIOS update, when I try to apply it, saying that it is older than the current version. Not very useful.

I'd install the Intel update but I'm not sure if it will work. There are a lot of guard, but not much reassure layouts.

On top of that, Dell does not do anything to see if my machine is able to win 10.

As usual, Dell are completely behind the curve on this.

  • Format and reinstall Windows 10 - Dell XPS 13 9343

    Hello

I have a Dell XPS 13 9343 provided with windows 8.1 and I have upgraded to windows 10.
I would like to format and do a clean install of windows 10 and after that to create a dual boot with ubuntu.
I don't want to retrieve anything, just in any format.
    My question is:
    1. What is the best way to do it? Is there a preparation necessary before formatting (except backup)? If anyone can point me to a relevant detailed guide, it will be great.
    2. do I need to care that I want to install ubuntu in dual boot, when I format and install windows? Or just to install after windows is already installed?
    Thank you.

10 Windows will recreate all the partitions it needs. If you want to save your old settings factory Dell backup and restore use to make a bootable USB:

  • Latest Dell Audio is missing the button 'Show meters. (Windows 10, Dell XPS 8700)

    EDIT: Rewritten for clarity

Driver Realtek ALC3861 Audio (worm) 6.0.1.7525, A00 for Windows 10, it is no longer a button labeled 'Show meters' under speakers/Headphones > Maxx Pro Audio in the lower right corner (see attached screenshot). This button in previous versions of the driver for Windows 7 opens a new window with sliders to balance the front speakers and rear in a surround Setup.

    What I did:

Update my OS 7 to 10 and set to update drivers Realtek audio as a result - to the version mentioned above.

    What I expected:

The button 'Show meters' would be present in the most recent driver Realtek.

    What really happened:

After the upgrade to the latest driver, the 'Show meters' button is gone.

I reinstalled the latest driver several times and nothing helps and tried the driver from Windows 8.1 and by default with Realtek with worse affects (Audio Dell window missing most of the items/drop options, etc.)

If anyone would know how to solve the problem, if it is intentional, or that worsen it, I would appreciate it.

I think I should be more careful. In Control Panel > Sound > playback > select the Realtek device > properties > levels there are specific changes, I need. I don't know why I didn't notice until now. Could explain why there was no button 'Show meters"in this version, but I thought that Windows 7 has also had the same upgrade and there was audio Dell upgrade as well.

I'll still with a new soundcard from Creative, however, saw a $70 super nice which looks great and seems to have features to match.

  • Install Windows on Dell XPS 15 L502x 8

When I bought my laptop my older brother created separate partitions in my laptop.

Here's a screenshot of my disk management

    [IMG] http://i59.tinypic.com/21mvxja.jpg [line]

now I'm planing to install Windows 8 (new installation not upgrading to Windows 7), but I'm a bit confused as to what will happen on my Windows 7 recovery partition (image of factory restore)? It will be deleted and I'm no longer able to restore to Windows 7. If ever, I want to do in the future.

    Please explain.

    Concerning

Its not too much of it is just an additional/optional security feature and make the boots a bit faster.

However, this system will allow secure boot if BIOS is updated to the latest revision:

  • Windows on Dell XPS 15 8.1 L521x Intel Video driver?

Updated Windows 8.1 today and found this driver Intel graphics HD 4000 will not work correctly: once its update, the screen is all black and all that I can see my mouse pointer. All solutions? Thank you!

    Hi Fixanoid, Cadalzog and Ilittlewood,

The latest graphic drivers Intel for Windows 8.1 were released on 17 October, 2013 and are available on the Intel Web site. However, because the Microsoft base driver is automatically updated, you may need to install the driver manually in the device first Manager. Start in safe mode with network and download and backup drivers Intel one of Intel links mentioned below.

Intel HD graphics driver for 8.1* Windows 32 and 64-bit: http://dell.to/GTJPP9

Customer support for automatically find drivers: http://dell.to/H1nGic

Then, manually update the driver in Device Manager. Once the updated driver has been installed, restart the computer and check if the computer works fine with the updated driver. Now try to update for Windows 8.1 again.

The link below includes steps on how to manually update the drivers in Device Manager.

Hope this helps to solve the problem. Please keep us informed of the results.

  • Update Intel RST for Windows 10 & Dell XPS 8300?

    Hi people,

Still trying to work through the upgrade to Win10 with most big obstacle is the Intel RST that consumes cycles 15% CPU and the taskbar notification explains the RST service is not running. My system has been implemented with raid interlaced, but I'm moving to SSD storage. The BIOS SATA controller is always defined in RAID mode and when I turn the PC won't start not (disc system not found) in AHCI mode.

I'm ready to install Win 10 on bare metal, so the SATA controller can be attributed to the AHCI and realize all the benefits of the SSD.

Problem is that I would still run on the Intel RST platform. Is there a way to update or I'm earlier go to SATA pcie controller (sitting on a x 1 slot) expansion card? I really want to solve the problem of well integrated controller.

    TIA,

    RandyEN

Win7 has MSM for older readers.  RST 9.6.X for the advanced format Drives.

10.1.xxxx is the version of transition for more than 2 TB Volumes.

First RAID does not more 2 TB volume support.

Windows 10 I guess only works with the RST on supported chipsets.

Newer versions of older versions STOP SUPPORTING the chipset drivers.

  • Colors too saturated in the editor

I use PSE for years. Now all of a sudden with a new PC all colors are saturated in the editor. The images that look fine in other programs (Irfanview, Faststone, Windows Photo Viewer) seem terrible to post-secondary studies. They also seem OK on my TV connected by HDMI.

My PC screen is also well adjusted. It is fair to Photoshop!

Color management does nothing to improve things. Can someone help me with what is happening please?

    Thank you

Have you tried to change the color settings in the editor. Go to Edition in the menu bar > select color settings > always select 'optimize colors for the parameters of the computer '.

If this does not work can you share a snapshot of any photo for which colors look oversaturated.

    Hi Olson,

    1. What is the operating system installed on your computer?

2 have had any changes made to the computer before the show?

Calibrating your monitor helps to ensure that colors are represented accurately on your monitor.

Please follow the instructions in the link to adjust the color settings using display color calibration.
