• Can I combine a smart shape and a hotspot of reversal in CP8 legend, but not group the legend of rolling itself?

  CP8, I want to create an object - a red point - that will be used for the legends of overview throughout a project. I have created a red dot, created a legend of turnover and the point of interest rollover the red dot of the size. I would like to group the red dot and the hotspot, so I can easily duplicate the combined object. However, when I consolidate them, the legend itself becomes an integral part of the group. Move all hotspot/point move also in the legend and vice versa. Is there a way I can combine form and the hotspot of flipping without including the legend in the Group? I tried, but have not found a way to do it. Or is there a better way to create a rolling object which can be moved independently of the legend of flipping?

  The rollover area and the legend of working capital are an object, although you can configure their properties separately. It seems logical to me that they come together in a group, you see only a single object in the timeline: the rollover area.

  Why, that should help move the legend on his own? You must always select the scene, because it doesn't have a separate timeline. You can move, resize the bounding box for the group just because of the form, or the rollover area, or the legend of turning movement. In these 3 screenshots, you can see same group with only one form and a legend of reversal. Second screenshot, I moved from the area, third, I moved the legend.

  

  

  

• Captivate 8 - effects on Smart forms do not work when there is a button automatically paused on the slide.

  We have built a course online with Adobe Captivate. I have included on each two buttons slide that allows you to move forward and the other to return back. they have the auto-pause set on them (pause after 1.5 seconds) which I suppose may have something to do with my problem. When I add a smart shape and try to add an effect to it, the effect does not work. I realized that if I move back, and the next button on the script to display ONCE the effect is to show, the effect will work, but it seems ridiculous for buttons at random to see, for example, six seconds in where the slide started. Is it possible to do this job all together without moving the timing buttons?

  Try to set up the 'Pause after' bit for your buttons so that the synchronization stops after only 17 seconds.

• Hide the smart shape on master slide button

  Hi all

  Looks like I have another issue of nag... I have a project (Captivate 6) that contains the FOOTER navigation that I used smart shape buttons... the problem is, I have a few slides with popups... and buttons are still ALIVE in the pop-up window. And because I can't quote a button on smart shape on a master slide, I don't know how to identify it with a tip Action...

  I know that I can go the L-O-O-O-O-O-N-G way, using a different Master and duplicate the navigation on the slide that will give me the ability to appoint the Smart form buttons... I can't HIDE/SHOW them... but the project has 4-8 pop-up windows that would be a large number of buttons...

  So, is there a way to hide/show buttons created on a model of slides?

  Not possible: objects on master slides do not receive an identification, which means they cannot be used in a fast action (one of my many requests of feature for quite some versions).

  In such a case of use I would not place the buttons on form on the model of slides, but on the first slide and their time for the rest of the project, always on top (if it can be done here?). In this case, they will have a unique ID for the whole project. However, there are a few possible problems for buttons in form with a suspension point. When you use a suspension point for a button shape on the master slide, the break will always happen at the end of each slide, regardless of its duration. This is not the case for form buttons timed for the rest of the project.

• Possible to have a site that contains roll effects AND is sensitive? That is, pages with those separate effects?

  For example, here's what I ask on/research to:

  My home page has scrollbar effects. Is that what I can keep this page with scroll effects (and available phone alternative)? It would be non-compliant, I'm aware.

  BUT, I would have other pages within my site that wouldn't be sensible indeed, but wouldn't roll effects and does not require the alternative layout.

  The combination of two things is possible? Just to separate the pages from the same site? I hope that makes sense.

  Yes. You can mix design adaptive and responsive.

• Smart shape above the button, button still running

  I am using Captivate 8.0.1.242 (latest version), and I came across something quite boring.

  Tell so you create a button that will take you to the next page, then say that you create a smart shape above the button, which is then defined as a button 'Use as button', but when you click it, it will execute the button below.

  Even if the smart shape is not defined as a button, if you happen to click where is the button below, you will end up on the next slide.

  The intelligent form is on the top layer of most, over everything, including the button.

  Anyone have any ideas on what is happening here?

  You can have two interactive objects in the same place at the same time. That has always been the case. It works correctly when you view a button in time, as I have explained in one of the scenarios here: buttons in the form of rocking - Captivate 6 - Captivate blog

  An interactive, covered with a non-interactive object object maintains its interactivity, have many examples of this behavior on my blog too. The only exception I've found recently (to CP8) is when you cover an interactive object (like a text input area) with a widget static (as an interaction of the drop-down list), then the widget now seems to kill the features of the interactive object. He didn't is not logical, but so far (connected to a bug report) haven't heard back about this problem.

• Auto Slide advance to the next when slide the smart shape buttons are on the sensitive presentation page.

  If I have several buttons smart shape on a slide and I continue by clicking on them, my auto slide advance intermittently. I tried to put a break in action simple and advanced areas leaving. I also placed a button on my model of slides to test. It does not occur on all pages, but it happens on many.

  I'm not sure why the concept of a blade not moving until you click a next button is still such a cryptic mystery in Captivate. This is a very basic function that almost all e-Learning course uses, but it is extremely buggy and almost impossible to remove without a hitch.

  The event on the output is not a good choice for a break, for several reasons: break will take place after the output, which means that on the first frame of the next slide.

  You can still save a feature request if you wish. Captivate has his design, and what you now MENTION has been the case for many, many versions. • Disable/hide the smart shape buttons

  I use Cp 8.0.1.  I am trying to disable and hide the buttons of smart shape to go to the next/previous slide until a specific time or a situation that happens.

  Smart shape buttons still work even if disable them you or hide them, even if you do not see them. Is there a way to do this?  Thank you.

  Are you talking about intelligent form buttons that exist on a slide Master?

  If you don't want a smart shape on a regular slide button to be 'available' to the point of a while, you just configure so that the starting point is when you want on the timeline, as shown below:

• Combining transparency and animation

  I want to add a transparent smoke on top effect an article (mainly of the images though).

  This means combining animation and transparency.

  What would be the best set to build the animation? (AE, PS, Edge?)

  And then, depending on the package, how would this work in DPS?

  You can do animation in any tool you like, as animate dashboard and then include it in the folio as a superimposition of web. Set the web overlay to be transparent in the folio overlay Panel.

• Buttons on nav smart shape broke in the project of upgrading from 6 to 7

  Captivate version: 7.0.1.237 Windows 7

  I have a project with a navigation that worked correctly in v6, but now the smart navigation buttons form are broken. I tried to rebind the existing smart forms to another slide and create new smart forms to post a link. The forms can be changed visually when you click (normal change), but the project is not going to any other slide.

  Does anyone have suggestions for what else to try? I have a workaround in my back pocket (transparent button on the smart form), but I prefer to do this correctly.

  If the Smart form does not work, I would be a transparent button (don't know why everyone's going for those, but I digress) would fail too.

  I would say check your quiz settings. Chances are that you have an object that can sititng on a blade between where is your smart shape and where you try to bind, if your Quiz settings say that each question should be answered, links will fail.

  Is there a way to turn the smart bubble shapes smart square shaped in Captivate 7? I have a lot of text in the bubble active forms that I would prefer not to have to redraw the squares.

  Yes you can do it in Captivate.

  The smart shape you want to change and right-click on it and select replace Smart form and select the one you want to have.

• Smart shape loses quality publish

  No idea why the smart shape loses quality on published?  The edges are losing their beautiful rounded shape.

  If this is the case then it probably is not much else you can do to improve the result with a smart form.  Captivate is probably converting it to a raster the runtime image, not a vector.

• Captivate 7 change the smart shape on score button image?

  I know that Captivate 6 does not support changing the image of the smart shape to the overview button.  Captivate 7 does it take?

  I forgot to test this on my trial prior to its expiration.

  To build on the response to Lilybiri, I think that my desire for buttons have three States (high, low) is driven by what I see in other applications on the web apps and installed locally.  All the buttons tend to have three States.

  It would be very happy to be able to customize these three States, just as we can with the current buttons.

• Smart shape margins

  I created intelligent forms to contain the text. However, the text runs into edges of the smart shape and doesn't look good. Is it possible to adjust the margins of the text in a smart shape?

  Text captions, I would have used, however, they do not have the right colors to match the areas they designate. Thank you.

  After talking with Adobe, it was confirmed that the margins are not available when you create a form using the smart polygon. That said, other forms of Smart show margins. After a further inspection of the intelligent forms, I found that the rectangular legend allows me to move the point to a new location (unlike the text caption).

• Filter effect and layer the layer in the same Style vs the separate layers

  I set a photographic image and uses both a filter effect and a layer style in the same layer to a smart object.  I want to separate the two effects in two layers, one layer has the effect of filter (Nik) and a layer is the layer style (Chromakey) (in order to merge/pixelation unmerged Nik filter effect with the smart object but keeping the layer style).  I can make two layers and move an effect without problem, but the Visual result of each effect on a separate layer is very different for these two effects in the same layer.   For all my layers blending Mode is Normal.  In the color overlay Panel, the blending mode is linear burn.

  I don't understand why the Visual result is different.  I'm not an advanced user of Photoshop, so maybe I'm missing something.  It is a trial of CS6 I use.

  If you want two separate layers, and then click the layer duplicated with the color overlay layer style you can try different layers, blend modes.

  For example, below is looking the same the Chromakey with linear burn on the second layer and change the blending mode of layers in Hue.

  

  You can also put the layer in a group and apply the layer for the group style.
