combining paths with object

I have a lot of shots that I need to add a shape. I thought that if I converted paths to objects that I can use Add to shape area. It does not work. Thanks a lot for your help! I use cs3.1 Moore.png

Try the contour lines on just the edges command. not the group. It should give you a path colored instead of a path. Then, with the new railways and the rectangle selected, click Add order Shape from the Pathfinder Panel.

  • Merge paths with the same fill color

    Hello

    I'm trying to use pathfinder to merge paths with the same colors. I have a lot of colors, so that Select > same fill color would solve my problem, it is very slow.

    My typical workflow is basically by selecting the same colorful and using pathfinder (unite) paths to combine. If the paths have different colors that he would do all the unique color of merged paths. It does not work.

    I want to combine only the paths with the same fill color with the other, but I couldn't come up with a good workflow.

    Someone had a similar problem/situation? What are my options?

    I appreciate all the help.

    rcinco,

    Kurt is sometimes abrupt (like me).

    You can select all the paths of the surfboard surf/surf/whatever, then object > compound path > make and use the path composed as the Clipping Path of Object > clipping mask > make.

    But you may need to make a few changes to avoid the holes where they overlap.

    You could also (working on a copy as it should (almost) always, especially when the destructive works):

    (1) move/create a copy of the desired work and just group them, and then set the background color of this in white;

    (2) place you like on top of the image, select both, and in transparency, click Launcher palette make the opacity with ticked Clip mask and invert the mask unchecked.

  • By turning the result of a 3d extrude and bevel in path with fill

    Hi all

    I have a path with a fill to which I applied the extrude and bevel 3D effect.

    What I would like is to create a modifiable object path as it appears with the 3D effect applied, so Illustrator treats the effect as 'flat', if you know what I mean

    Does anyone know how to do this?

    You should just choose all paths with the path Selection tool and change path operations to exclude forms that overlap.

    If the paths are on the same path thumbnail in the Trace Panel.

  • Conversion of a Word Document of 2010 with objects inserted in PDF with adobe acrobat XI

    Hello

    I work in a Wrod document with objects inserted such as ppt, word documents and PDFs even. you open the word document, press down on the object and the inserted file opens. I converted to pdf format, click on a button and the index, that is to say, you press on the index and you switch to the selected section. However, the inserted objects are images and you can not open the.

    Do you know how to keep the inserted objects?

    Thank you

    Sure that the PDF file contains exactly what you would get if you printed the Word document. There are no promise or expectation that opposes will be "live".

  • handle Bezier lost in the closure of path with the tool pen

    Can anyone of you teach me please how to avoid losing the first point Bezier handle backward when closing a path with the pen tool?

    It is a nuisance for a long time for me, but I can't exclude that I simply failed to find the right way to disable this behavior.

    For my own use, I wrote some Javascript AI, JET_CloseSelectedPaths.jsx, which closes a path in the way that narrow box that FreeHand is for pre-existing incoming handles.

    Read the descriptions on the page, and you will find a few others in the same collection, which even use workaround for things that FH users take for granted about two decades ago. (Illustrator only devout, of course, should stay away from them because, you know, they use HAVE for a long time, so I should not em.)

  • Path with the pen color tool

    Is there a way to improve (color change) the path generated with the pen tool. I don't want to say 'draw' the path after the path is complete. I mean the original plan of the path with the pen tool. I have a pretty full picture which I cannot see the path I'm generating the path.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I think I see what you mean... There is a fine line and unlike in other applications, I'm fairly certain that I am not mistaken, you cannot specify a color for her.

    I suggest only, and I don't know if this will help, but you could do your photo complicated layer is on temporarily less opaque so: lighter in effect. Not really more light and not a permanent change, you understand. I know not how you know PhotoShop so if you need me to explain exactly what to do, don't say, no probs. I'll tell you, it's easy.

    I'm not sure this will help, but that's all I can think about thinking I'm afraid. I don't know if anyone has a better idea, they will be along soon to tell you about this :-)

    Edit... ah... just beat him by Marlo with a better idea, lol.

  • How to merge paths of objects grouped in a path?

    I'm having a problem merging paths of several objects in a path. Does anyone know how or if it is still possible?

    I guess that you have prepared the work in a manner that it is possible.

    I would then separate these pieces in layers (just to make sure that it will work)

    Then focus on each layer and simplify what can be simplified. Also combine things as much as possible to reduce the objects (use the pathfinder Panel). Then make transparent traces (this will be may not be not required - check with the person who will be this code)

    Based on the layers it is also perhaps to export SVG. There are a few scripts available to perform the export. It is dynamic by nature, so I'll leave you with the search expression: https://www.google.de/search?q=adobe+illustrator+layer+export+script

  • Illustrator text on a path with a gradient from top to bottom?

    Try to get a gradient to text on a wavy path.

    I found problems / very similar answers, but not quite this one...

    I'm creating a poster. There the text of PROGRAM of COMPOSTING MUNICIPAL BACKYARD (2 lines, backyard CITED above, then of COMPOSTING PROGRAM below)

    The text has a light brown dark brown gradient running up and down on the whole text.

    The text is on a green background.

    They now want the green background to be a banner wave, and the text is inside the banner and follow the wavy shape of the banner.

    And of course that the gradient must follow the wavy form of the text, so the tops of letters are the same light brown and the bottom of all the letters are the same despite Brown, dark letters are flowing up and down along the wavy shape of the banner.

    I received my text as a result of the wave of the banner, and I have a version with the text now changed to the railways (and a composite path because it's two lines), but of course when I apply the gradient, the gradient runs directly through the letters instead of follow the wave.

    Is there a way to do this? I found a method of creating a mixture and stroke following forms apply it as an accident, but not what I have to do here.

    Thank you!

    Quoz,

    I think it is easier and better use a combination of follows, with the two curved lines of direct Type (especially if they have Anchor Points (numbers of) correspondent):

    (A) direct select both the path of nofill who wear both sets of Type, then Ctrl / Cmd + X + B to bring to the back, then give them a fill and lock the Type of path together.

    (B) attach the ends of the two lines so that they form a something like a distorted rectangle (you can select directly the end corresponding units);

    (1) object > path > offset path by the distance down to the top of the text up/down the low text, this should give you a closed path extra with straight segments end;

    ((2) directly select the straight end of the segments and remove them with the winding of B rectangle), this should give you a line of top and a bottom line.

    (3) give up and down the color that you want at the top of the letters above and below the letters down, the lines then object > mix > blend Options, with the smooth settings and align on the track, this should give you the transition of color behind the original lines;

    (4) to unlock, then select the two curved lines of the Type and the object > compound path > make if not already;

    (5) select the Type (Path) alive and the color transition and object > clipping mask > make.

  • Working with objects

    This question has been posted in response to the following article: http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/Pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7c74.w.h tml

    When you do a right click on a page by using the tool object change object and open the Properties dialog box, some or all of the tabs are deactivees according to what you have selected and structuring of the PDF file.

    For example if the selected item (or its parent) does not tag, content and sections of the tag will be disabled (to create tags in a file without all this, you must run the command create Tags root from the sidebar of Tags, then reference each element). If you select an image or a path will be of course off the section of text.

    PDF pages often have trace objects "container" which act as a group for a number of other objects - which can be text, images, vector art or a combination of all three. If you select the container you will find most of the sections properties is disabled because the container does not have its own properties (it can contain a lot of text objects but the container doesn't have an own 'police').

    You can see what type of object selected on the top of the section "content" in the Properties dialog box (it will say path, Image, text, etc.). If you need to select a single object in a structure and can't click on it directly, you can use the sidebar content:

    • If it is not visible, right-click on the sidebar on the left of the Acrobat window and choose 'content '. The icon is a page with a set of horizontal lines of color.
    • To know where you are in a complex document, use the tool change object to search for something on the page nearby, then from the menu choose options of sidebar content find content in the selection.
    • Activate matches the content in the same menu. Now when you click each entry on the tree, the object of the page will be displayed with a blue border.
    • When you have the item you want to edit selected, right-click as usual.

    @UAF: Page objects can only be sized in proportion, that is why there are only handles on the corners of a selected object and not on the sides.

    Editing focus is an advanced topic, so there are a few skills involved understand how the tools work and what you're having consequences (for example changing the page objects can mess with reading order and an existing tag structures). It is an area of improvement, we're going to see what brings the future.
