• When I'm in the comments of Yahoo news, WaterFox keeps interrupting me with a survey about FireFox. Then, I can't go back to where I was. Help?

  I'm trying to access my comments to Yahoo News stories. I can be in the middle of post a comment, or just running through them to see how people have responded. WaterFox interrupts me suddenly with a survey about FireFox.   You have a bad extension loaded into Firefox.

  Uninstall anything you don't recognize from your control panel. (Start > Control Panel > uninstall a program)

  Sometimes, with Facebook the device turned on, I get a message saying that comments do not load correctly and I am unable to, but most of the time, I just get the little spiral icon, indicating that the comments are supported. If I disable Facebook disconnect and restart Firefox is loading correctly comments and I'm able to post.

  WOOT! Found the fix. When on the article you wish to post to search for in the address bar, you will see a blue round icon 'Land' to the right of the address. Click it and then click then unblock facebook application. Then you can post comments.

  There is a flashing light on my toolbar, and sometimes a blinking black box appears on Yahoo News. I tried to reset Firefox and that has not worked. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and I still have the seizure inducing flashing lights.

  When I go to Internet Explorer, I don't have this problem. Please help me because I don't want to go back to IE.

  In the case where this is caused by 33 incompatible Firefox with your software driver graphics card/chipset, could test you for a while in Mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few other advanced features of Firefox. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

  You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

  • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
  • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

  Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

  After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

  You can disable hardware acceleration for all modes in the Options dialog box.

  Having just switch to firefox on Mac as your primary browser as Google does not help things to force us to sign every time.

  And new tab keeps so reset to Yahoo - little matter how many times change you by change of path browser.newtab.url.

  Finally, I have no idea why random new tabs open with Doubleclick DNS - I checked my computer and there is no trace of Doubleclick anywhere. I even disabled ads on all of my Google accounts.

  Hi errwin, this problem is probably due to one of your addons (adware). If you like, either try to disable the unnecessary addons or Update firefox altogether...

I can't watch a slide show or even manually "flip" through the photos. It is no longer a button "stop loading" then I'm stuck there. It's a lousy connect you Facebook Add! Chrome and Internet Explore work very well... If you can not fix it I will switch to one of them... It is VERY annoying

  Works fine in safe mode. Cache and cookies have been of any help. But when I turned off AVG Do not track it loaded the Facebook Add and seems to work fine... Thank you very much

• Comments on the new SSD system

  I've been editing since 1998 with mediocre systems.  It's time to take seriously because the time spent in rendering was not motivating.  From 3 hours and 20 minutes for a file, then 1 hour avi is not bad, but I should be able to do better with 22nm, 3D and SSD technology.  I'd appreciate your comments with a view to practical work.  Here is a proposal for a custom system:

  Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO

  CPU: Intel i7 3770 K

  RAM: DDR3 1600 4 x 8 G

  SSD: 4 x Intel 240 SSDSC2CW240A3K5

  Graphics card: Sapphire HD 7750 OC 1 GB DDR5 128 bit PCI

  Cost: $2 280 + taxes

  The cost for the SSD seems reasonable today.  However, I have always used HDs and I don't have any experience with SSDS.  My existing system uses 4 1 TB disks, the largest space used in the 1 TB HD video source is about 550 GB.  However, this includes several videos that don't have all fit here at the same time.

  Is the choice of the SSD a good choice right now compared to HDs RAID or a combination for example 1 SSD for program files and 3 pairs of RAID HD for others?

  The arrangement of 4 SSDS (#1 for the programs, #2 for the project and the video source, audio #3 and #4 videos) is a good arrangement for speed

  With the choice of the SSD from 120 to about $500 less or 480 SSD for about $1000 more, what should I use for a size SSD to work with avi files up to 70 GB?

  If I choose a SSD size, is extensible if I find that I need more space?

  What is the impact of the RAID disks? It's sustained transfer rates, and everything by testing a new chronology for PPBM6, Bill and I found these quite impressive performance differences:

  • Bill tested on the i7 - 2600K with 32 GB of memory, a single Vertex4 of OCZ SSD for the OS and a second SSD for the rest, shown as BillG i7 - 2600K, SSD
  • Bill repeated the test, but now with the Vertex4 OCZ SSD for the OS and an old Seagate 7200.12 HDD, shown as BillG i7 - 2600K, HARD drive
  • Bill has also tested on its overclocked i7-980 (4.4 GHZ) with a disc of separate start and 8 x raid0 SCSI 15 K RPM, BillG i7-980 X
  • Finally, I tested it on my system (see reflections) and came up with the results presented as evil i7 - 3939 K

  It comes down to export a 3 hours editing DV AVI on disk 37 092 MB of data. In a case that it takes 22 seconds, in another, it takes 363 seconds. These figures don't seem like much of a difference, I mean what is an export of 6 minutes in 3 hours? But if you can do it about 16.5 times faster and you have to do a lot of exporting, it can add up.

  You can disable graphics hardware acceleration by doing the following:

  2. In the Options of Firefox window, click the Advanced tab, and then select general.
  3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  4. Now restart Firefox normally and see if the problems persist.

• Yahoo News videos give the message "Sorry, this video is no longer available" in firefox. Chrome will show the video

  This happens everytime I try to access the video. Interestingly, it will show you advertising that plays in front of a video.

  I thought that the problem could be a plug, but plug-ins are up-to-date and I guess that Chrome uses the same plug-ins. I also had a problem trying to attach a file to an email in Yahoo. When I used Chrome there was no problem.

  It seems that there is some kind of problem with the way Firefox refers to Yahoo.

  Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  Running InDesign CC 2014.2 under Win 7 Pro 64 bit latest version. Trying to create a new shade and the new swatch icon is not available in a new (or old) document. It existed previously.

  Choose shades | Otherwise, record or paper is selected - default I guess, then the icon new nuance is not available

  Choose any sample user-defined and the icon new shade is available.

  Or I can take the control drop-down in the corner of HEART of the Swatch Group. New shade of color and that works regardless of what is selected in the list of existing shades.
