CompactDAQ controllers

Hello

I have a question about CompactDAQ controllers. Is it possible to access it remotely through an internet connection?

As is - this program start run after the power is on or the user must manually switch? Is it possible to Setup to do it automatically?

If it's bad advice, please recommend where I can ask this of?

Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply. I just thought I'd do some tests on a cDAQ-9139 here in the office (since we do not have here a 9132).

I found that if I unplugged the power supply from the chassis while he was running (windows, in my case) and then reconnected the power, the frame automatically rebooted again. So, it would seem (from a test) you would not have to travel the 100 km to only press the power button. If you select a request of VI or LabVIEW file to open during the startup of the operating system that is installed on the stand-alone cDAQ, she should be able to automatically begin data acquisition.

However, in my opinion, I want to emphasize that drops of current sudden can damage the power supply into the chassis. Thus, I advise to use an inverter (UPS) interruption that is changing a battery power if the source falls suddenly. Not only it would protect your device better, but it also means that any operation that is already running on the cDAQ would not be interrupted.

    Hello

I recently had problems with my microphone and speakers/headphones and game controllers.
Sometimes the microphone stops working when on Skype, for example, but most of the time works fine, once again, when I restart the pc.

Stakeholders sometimes still work when I connect headset.
Some of the sounds are still coming through the speakers while some coming through the headphones.

I have a usb game controller which also did not work everything properly.

Are you talking about internal microphone or external? This only happens using Skype?
In your case I would test the microphone using different applications to make sure that is not a Skype related issue.

  • Pin assignment connector D - SUB 15 pin on CompactDAQ chassis

    Hi all

I want to use a 9172 CompactDAQ with a Tablet for the measurement of flight with a glider plane, where several ADXL335 disk accelerations are recorded. They need a 5V supply, which should be available from the connector 15-pin D - SUB from the backplane NI 9172. Where can I find the pin assignment?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jan

    Hello Jan,

If you want to use the connector D - SUB of your cDAQ/cRIO, then you will find official information in the "CompactRIO Module Development Kit":

    NEITHER cRIO-9951 - National Instruments
    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/de/NID/14548

I found a few informal and information unconfirmed which I cite, and maybe already helps you:

[...] PIN 4 is 5V and 14 pins is GND. However, be aware that there is a danger accidentally
damage the bottom of basket in this approach, so we cannot guarantee this type of use.

If you just need to join the + 5V and gnd lines, a safer option is to use a module NI 9411
who uses a regulator by an external power supply to 5V on the front connector.

    Best regards

  • Problem setting up an encoder input and PWM output tasks on CompactDAQ

I use a chassis with a modules 9474 cDAQ-9174 and 9411. I do not think it is important, but they are the cRIO-XXXX modules NOR old provided with a test configuration that has been distributed to early adopters. Each task works fine on its own (i.e. without the other). The problem is that if I start the task of the encoder first and then the task PWM, the latter causes an error:

    Possible reasons:
Specified route can not be satisfied, because it requires resources that are currently in use by another route.

    Destination terminal: Ctr2SampleClock

    The task name: _unnamedTask<61>

I don't know why this is, but if I start the PWM task first, and then the task of the encoder, it also works. I should also mention that initially I was using counter 0 encoder, which caused a shift in the 100kHzTimebase to Ctr0SampleClock, which, according to the ways of device 9411, is not supported. Yet it worked (in itself). I wonder if this is happening under the hood isn't quite what is shown.

What is exactly the conflict and what can do to avoid it? The reasons for having to use specific modes and the settings (for example, the 'continuous samples' with 100kHzTimebase clock) are rooted in various performance and requirements of optimization that were created in a previous version of our software, so I prefer not to take a completely different path, if some small changes would lead us to correct the problem.

    I appreciate your help.

    Kamen

    Hi Kamen,

The time base of 100 kHz is not a direct route to the counter sample clocks, the device actually uses one of the other counters to complete the road (the routing table is a little misleading here because it shows 2 meter that one always doing road - in fact it will be any available counter):

So in your case, when you start the task of the encoder, it uses one of the other available counters to complete the configured road (100 kHz to ctr2 sample clock timebase).  Of course, she chose meter 3.

Possible workarounds (looks like you have already found one yourself):

1 start the PWM before the task of the encoder task - if the task PWM starts first the counter is already booked and the task of the encoder would choose another available counter to complete its road.

    2. explicitly reserve the PWM task before you begin the task of the encoder (if you need to start the task of the encoder first).

    3. use cDAQ1/_freqout to generate the clock sample 100 kHz signal and use this instead of routing to the time base of 100 kHz to the counter sample clock.

Change autour counters should also work, but I'm not 100% sure how the unit selects which counter to use for routing (I don't expect change in the future, but if it's not explicitly spec'ed somewhere so I wouldn't take my chances)-if it were me, I would choose one of the other options above.

  • Regarding the problem with network controllers

    Hello every1!

I had a problem with the network controllers. I recently installed new windows in my laptop. Ultimate(64-bit) Windows 7 is. Everything was fine, except the LAN drivers. I got a drivers pack solution for drivers. We updated all the drivers except the network controller.

When I bought my new hp Pavilion g6-1201tx a few years, I had a backup of my DVD players. But, due to virus attack, it has corrupted me n later when I tried to reinstall my windows, I had no option but to the install from the cd of windows 7.

  • PROFINET for cdaq controllers

    Hello

Anyone know if the c-Series of Profinet slave module will work on the cDAQ programmers (RTOS)?  It is explicitly listed as compatible with the cRIO, but I can't find evidence that it will work on the cDAQ controllers.

    Thank you

    Wes

    Hi Wes,

The PROFINET cRIO module requires the use of LabVIEW FPGA.  For this reason, it is not compatible with the cDAQ chassis without worrying if they are running an operating system in real time.

  • Speed CompactDAQ OR 9401 DIO PWM

I think the use of a DIO NI9401 to generate 4 PWM.  The module can do 100 ns (10 MHz).  If I want to generate 4 PWM, each 1 MHz with a CompactDAQ, I should be ok, right?  I guess I can do that, because the NI9401 is a correlation module, and I should be able to give the news of PWM waveform for module and it allows to generate the PWM without using software to turn the line.  CompactDAQ not being real time as the CompactRIO, I'm afraid that he can't have enough speed.  Comments?

    jyang72211,

My understanding of your project, you should be able to do. Don't forget not to a rate of update of the full cycle taking 1 MHz and 10 MHz, you can change state 10 times per cycle (duty 10 cycles). Specifications listed on our site for the 9401, that it seems the maximum clock frequency of 10 MHz, which should be fine.

One thing to note is that you should probably use the regeneration for continuous output data, I doubt that you will be able to broadcast four waveforms by usb/ethernet to 10 MHz. However, it is possible to get a glitch when you start trying to write a new waveform in the guy when you implement the regeneration of your project. This could be a problem for some apps and not even noticed by others.

  • Is it possible to use a CompactDAQ and NOR-DAQmx in the TPC-2212 with integrated system of Windows 7?

    Hello

I would like to develop an application with the TPC-2212 (touch screen computers) and a CompactDaq system (NI9237 - 4 channels, ± 25 mV/V, 24-bit simultaneous Bridge Module).

Is this possible or should I use a panel pc?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

To work with touch screen, you can use the DAQmx BASE.

To develop your application, you will need a host computer, where development will actually happen. For touch panel applications, you must use the touch panel module, which has the appropriate functions.

The touch screen will be the show as another material Measumerent and Automation (MAX) as a target.

When you have finished your application in LabVIEW you can deploy on your Panel, but he must have the LabVIEW Touch Panel, to run your program.

I hope it can help you! Doubts, contact us!

    Kind regards!

Open the Manager of device on your PC.

Uninstall your two located under IDE controllers IDE channels.

Reboot, let windows re install the IDE controllers and all should be good.

And everyone was saying of his work, but I don't know how to do!

    Help, please!

"" I need the DVD to repair my windows 7, bad ".

.. .and at least it is not connected!

Hello Mazinho.  I understand that you're curious how uninstall/reinstall your IDE controllers.

I assume you are using Windows 8 based on your screenshot.  The steps should be similar for other versions of Windows as well.  Try the following.

    1. Using views of the subway or Office Windows + X key combination.  This opens the context menu.
    2. Select Device Manager.
    3. Expand the section of "controllers IDE ATA/ATAPI.
    4. Right click on "IDE controller' listed here and select"Uninstall ".  If you are prompted only remove the driver.
    5. Reboot the laptop.
    6. Loading Windows must be reinstalled the software for the device.

If you have additional questions, do not hesitate to ask.  I wish you a great afternoon!

  • DASYLab Lite, CompactDAQ Ethernet, "the stream blocked by a later module" error

I receive the message 'the stream blocked by a later module' and then the execution stops. I tried to remove the modules without change. He usually stops 8 minutes, 20 seconds (500) in the race. It happened on two different computers (same network, however). How can I get my program to run longer (forever?)?

I am using a cDAQ NI 9188 (CompactDAQ Ethernet chassis), NI 9237 (strain gauge module), NI 9211 (thermocouple module), OR-DAQmx 9.5.1 and DASYLab Lite 12.00.01. My program of DASYLab affect strips from 100 Hz sampling frequency. The calculation of the average (reduce) block performs an average arithmetic with the size of the interval of 100 and a block size of output of 1.

    Thank you!

Which module complains about being blocked? Look at the title bar of the message - it should show the name.

You can observe the locking by turning on pre-trial block view-Animation-FIFO.

I am suspicious that average organizes blocks more were awarded.

One thing to try and really monitor your computer after doing this...

Go to the Options menu in the spreadsheet view, then open the General preferences. Change these two settings - see the image - turning them off. The risk is that your application uses too much memory, so, please, provide oversight.

  • Measurment LVDT DC with CompactDAQ

    Hello

I am currently working with reading as a result of an LVDT for a project that the present model is the DC LVDT Omega LD620-25

According to the data sheet's model requires a voltage of 10-30 v and a maximum current of 25ma

    http://www.Omega.com/pptst/LD620.html

with regard to the available data acquisition modules: the NI 9237 and the 9220 OR by using a module compactDAQ

as the NI9237 has an internal output of 150mW obtained maximum current is 15ma, simply use?

the 9220 OR will be used for the acquisition of data but provides no port of excitement!

as for the solution another I thought using an AC adapter / CC of normal 12Vdc 100ma with a variable pot or a circuit voltage divider to provide the necessary tension

but I have several concerns with respect to the Earth circuit. in this system, I will have two independent reasons!

What will be the best solution to connect the LVDT module to the 9220 OR and provide a source of external excitation?

    Thank you

    Hello ghattas.ak

Consider the NI 9218. It can provide 12V exictation to ~ 50 mA per channel and read 5 or output 10V DC LVDT. To use this excitement 12V, 9 - 30V power supply must be connected at the Vsup pins. As you said, you can also use the 9220 OR with external excitation. The NI 9237 measuring range of +/-25 mV/V does not cover the 5 or 10 v output sensor you.
