CompactRIO Variable and IO naming channel order Bug

Hi all

I found a bug related to named e / s and the illogical way to access their fast table according to methods. It creates a lot of work around hackery & trick to mitigate. Fix this bug would be more appreciated to a permanence of code and maintenance perspective.

Deployment looks like this (note the scale indicated in the name):

Yields of running code (with scaling mentioned previously):'

It's a little too weird for the engineers used for normal operation for example in the implementation of the class outstanding world DAQmx to access I/o table based.

Home is at the origin of the project.

BR,

/ Roger

Hey Roger,

Sorry for not not follow up with you on this issue before.

In discussions with my colleagues at the time, I think that we have determined that this is the expected behavior and that it was the order of naming of the LabVIEW project which was weird.

In any case I've looked back at it today and ended up filing CAR 401856 on this topic for the sake of documenting this.

Think of it as a feature for now

Kind regards

Both are SQL * most orders. In a real programming environment you will use these constructions (except in a few rare cases of scripts).

The difference is the way in which the building will be used later. DEFINE looks more like a string copy & paste. Wherever this substitution variable name is found, it will be pasted into the sql * plus the term.
VARIABLE creates a real variable. You can change the value and if follwos the usual principles of variables (including the link).

Example can be found in the docs:

    documentation
Where and how to use the Substitution Variables

You can use anywhere substitution variables in the SQL and SQL * more orders, except that the first word entered. When SQL * Plus meets a variable substitution not defined in a SQL command * more will prompt you for the value.

You can enter any string, at the prompt, even a container of spaces and punctuation. If the SQL command that contains the reference must have quotes around the variable and you include here, the user must include the quotation marks when you are prompted.

SQL * Plus reads your answer from the keyboard, even if you have redirected the terminals input or output to a file. If a terminal is not available (if, for example, you run the script in batch mode), SQL * Plus uses the redirection file.

After you have entered a value in the prompt, SQL * Plus lists the line containing the variable substitution twice: once before replacing it with the value that you enter and once after substitution. You can delete this list by setting the variable to VERIFY OFF command.

    The use of Bind Variables
Bind variables are variables that you create in SQL * Plus and then the reference in PL/SQL or SQL. If you create a variable binding in SQL * Plus, you can use the variable as you would for a variable declared in your PL/SQL subprogram and access the variable from SQL * more. You can use bind variables for things such as the storage of return codes or debug your PL/SQL subprograms.

Because bind variables are recognized by SQL * Plus, you can display their values in SQL * more or reference them in PL/SQL subprograms that you run in SQL * more.

    Creating Bind Variables
You create variable bind in SQL * Plus with the command VARIABLE. For example

    Ret_val VARIABLE NUMBER
This command creates a variable binding named ret_val with a NUMBER data type. See the command VARIABLE for more information. (To list all the bind variable created in a session VARIABLE type without arguments).

    Referencing Bind Variables
You reference bind variables in PL/SQL by typing a colon (:)) immediately followed by the name of the variable. For example

    : ret_val: = 1;
To change this variable binding in SQL * Plus, you must enter a PL/SQL block. For example:

    BEGIN
    : ret_val: = 4;
    END;
    /

    Hello NO,.

I found a way to run the JIT-debugger LabWindows/CVI on ICB itself...

    This is the procedure:

    1. I put a breakpoint, run the code, and the breakpoint, I opened the window "Variables and stack calls" by right clicking on a variable and selecting 'Display Variable View.

  • Defined by the user variable and conditional actions

    Hi all

I use 6 Captivate on a Windows machine and tries to create a scneario where the user try to break the code on a safe. I have an image of a standard numeric keypad 0-9 and an additional 'enter/submit' button and have click boxes assigned to each digit.

What I want to do is allow users to have unlimited attempts to break the 4-digit code and open the safe but I only want them to discover if they are successful or not when they hit the Enter - key, but I hit a brick wall when creating actions in order to identify the correct numbers is entered in the correct order.

As an alternative to this method, is there a way to capture the choice the user four-digit in a variable and then test if the variable resultuing score is correct?

Which makes sense for what I want to achieve?

    Thank you

    Simon

Of course, this can be done by JS, but it is also possible with advanced/shared actions. Since you're the COP6, joint actions are excluded. Here are some old articles that explain the use cases similar to what you want:

  • How can I get the sum of my variables and display the total?

I wrote on a quiz and have each button by setting a variable, example: http://www.kreativitydesigns.com/Clients/Globus/Monograms/MBA_Test/deliverables/MBA_Quiz.h tml? mode = preview

However, when it hits the frame of "Rank" to calculate and display the total, it does not appear.

  • Helps the guest of session variable and dashboard

Hi, I ran into soemthing that I can't understand.

In the administration tool, I defined a CURR_MONTH session variable and set the query to find month max in the date dimension. It's all works fine - if I test the variable in OBIEE administration tool, it currently returns "January 2010".»

In addition, in the responses, I can create a query that moves back calendar information and then put a filter on it so the specific columns is equal to the session variable. It works perfectly - I get the 3 lines of return data that correspond to the 3 days of data we loaded for January 2010.

However, now that I'm trying to do is set a dashboard with the dimension command prompt date in it. I want the default to months / year equal to the value of CURR_MONTH. However, when I do this, instead of getting the correct value, for some reason some, it becomes the default value I put in place for this variable.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or if it is a bug?

    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

p.s. using OBIEE 10.1.3.4, with no applied patches. I'll upload pictures when I get home... is not a way to their work stations.

    Hi Scott,.

I just tested and it works fine for me.

    (1) in your DB guest pass by default to
    (2) select the Server Variable
    (3) NQ_SESSION. CURR_MONTH
    (4) save and test

Well, that should work for you. Here is a link to a jpg file that you should probably keep for future reference. She'll show you the proper syntax to use in different situations.

  • How the names of variables and units used in the binary output file

My colleague will give me LabView generated from the binary files (*.dat). There are more than 60 variables (columns) in the binary output file. I need to know the names of variables and units, which I think he has already configured in LabView. Is there a way for him to produce a file that contains the name of the variable and unity, so that I'll know what contains the binary file? It can create an equivalent ASCII file with a header indicating the name of the variable, but it does not list the units of each variable.

As you can tell I'm not a user of LabView, so I apologize if this question makes no sense.

    Hi KE,.

an ASCII (probably the csv format) file is just text - and contains all data (intentially) written to. There is no special function to include units or whatever!

Your colleague must save the information it records the names and values in the same way...

(When writing to text files, it could use WriteTextFile, FormatIntoFile, WriteToSpreadsheetFile, WriteBinaryFile even could serve...)

  • Need help with TS to read the list of variables and/or LV

    Hello

I use Labview adapter in Teststand to open WinIDEA and read the values of the variables. Basically LV lib files are used to read the value of the variable at run time, and returns the value of the variable. Contribution to this labview function i.e. variable name string and output type cluster.

I need to read the list of variables and compare it to the value limits for each variable. I perhaps need to read at least 50 to 60 variables in one step if possible or a variable at a time in a loop. I want to add these variables in a txt file with the limits and read of Teststand as a string array and compare the result. In this way is easy to add or remove variables from the list and therefore their expected value. I tried to use the shipper of the property, but there need a stage name or local/global variable.

Another way is to add the code in labview for comparison of variables value read, then I lose teststand power and flexibility.

I am struggling to find the best way to achieve this. Any ideas?

I would like it.  Basically, you have a file limit with 2 data tables.  A table contains your variables and the other your limits.  Then you wrap on a test of a string value.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • False ASCII control characters values in Variables and the call stack in CVI2013?

    Hello

I think that there is an error in the window "Variables and stack calls" If you want to find your variables in ASCII format.

(0-31) control characters are not displayed correctly. They are offset by 2.

    For example:

Character in decimal format is 10 (LF), but when you're chancing to ASCII it is projection \012.

The same with 13 (CR). This character is \015 as ASCII.

I think that it was no problem in CVI2012.

    Best regards

    Gunther

I do not use CVI2013 Yes so I can't answer about this specific product, but the code you are showing are the octal equivalent of the specified decimal value: it is possible that control characters (or generally the natually those non-printable) is replaced by their octal equivalent to the chain.

  • AI trigger and measure multi channels

    -DAQmxReadAnalogF64 (hd, "DEV / ai0:3 ', / / I want to measure more channels"ai0:3"not just"ai0")

    Thank you

    Hassan

    Hi Hassan,.

If you use an analog trigger with several analog channels, you will need to use the APFI0 input as source of relaxation. See this KB: Why do I get error-200264 when running analog reference trigger? All you need to do is to connect your analog signal online 0 to APFI0 (Paperback 20 in your case) and set the source of relaxation at APFI0.

The reason is that you don't have that an NOC on Board (series E or M) and she's going to have to switch between the different lines (see this KB: modes of sampling). This parameter collides with the idea of a trigger analog reference on a specific line (constant sampling of data in a ring buffer up to what a condition is met). The APFI0 line, however, has its own CDA. Therefore, it can run simultaneously.

However, please note that the ADC is fast but has lower resolution to HAVE it sampling ADC. See these KBs: series E and M series Analog Input Trigger resolution, be aware of a possible error between the analog trigger threshold and the value of the first sample

    Hope this clarified the issue.

  • problem connecting to TCP variables and shared help

    Hello

I have a project (host and a device in real time) using variable static as well as TCP to send images over the network. I am familiar with the use of TCP in labview but never used TCP and shared variables in the same project before.

I receive the error 63 off the open TCP connection. This only happens if an executable file is trained and deployed on the device in real time.

Is there something to watch if the use shared variables and TCP?

    Thank you

    Thank you Nate

Fiddled a bit and found that the TCP worked great if I deployed from another computer. Thanks for the links, they were good reads

  • How can I MOVE buttons on taskbar to a new location without having to close all programs and resume in the order I want?

I like to keep the buttons in my taskbar has organized with the browser and messaging on the left, followed by Windows Explorer and other items. If they get out of order or programs are loaded into a different order, how can I MOVE the buttons to a new location without having to close all programs and resume in the order I want? In addition, sometimes, one of program buttons seems in itself to migrate out of place and I need to get back to where it should be: same problem.

    Hi shohareZohre

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers Forums!

The task bar is the horizontal bar at the bottom of your screen time. In contrast to the office, which can get obscured by the windows on top of it, the taskbar are visible nearly all the time. It includes four main sections:

    ·         The Start button, which opens the start menu.

    ·         The Quick Launch bar, which allows you to start programs with a single click.

    ·         The middle section, which shows you what programs and documents you have open and allows you to quickly switch between them.

    ·         The notification area, which includes a clock and icons (small pictures) that communicate the status of certain programs and computer settings.

Add or remove programs on the Quick Launch toolbar

The Quick Launch toolbar is located on the task bar and is a convenient way to open programs. You can add or remove program icons in the Quick Launch toolbar so that you have easy access to the programs that you use frequently.

To add a program icon to the Quick Launch toolbar

Click the icon for the program to add (you can find most icons of programs on the start menu or the desktop) and then drag it to the Quick Launch toolbar.

Note: If you don't see the toolbar tools quick launch, right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click quick launch.

To remove a program to the Quick Launch toolbar icon

Right-click on the icon of the program and then click Remove.

Notes: ·         Delete an icon from the taskbar does not remove its corresponding computer program.

    ·         If you want to stop showing a toolbar on the taskbar, right-click an empty area of the taskbar, point to toolbars, and then click the item that you want to stop broadcasting.

NOTE: The ability to move the programs in the taskbar is not possible in windows Vista but the same functionality is available in Windows 7. Please see the link below.
