  Ignore XP when it complains.
  Reset.

  I just do a fresh install of windows xp. I do not have the original restore/driver disk, so I have my XP pro (sp3 w / all updates) running instead of xp home.

  I have everything working except the network card, the device displays Manager shows the ethernet like network adapter driver is not installed. I can't for the life of find me the drivers for it. I downloaded and tried every update on the support page and drivers for this model, including the Nvidia nforce chipset drivers (that I expected to have, but he didn't).   I even have the same PC on the internetvia a USB wireless card and tried to find the drivers on windows update automatically (it did not).

  The car of network worked with the windows of the factory install before get me the new installation of XP. However I don't have to predict the location of this driver to be a problem.

  I searched many forums/sites Web/etc hours and found nothing that works, I can not even a precise idea of who made this particular NIC I'm not a novice at this, it's as simple as not installed... chipset driver but the driver seems to be missing in action.

  Can someone help me to find drivers for this chipset (they are NOT on the page of the driver for this machine!)

  I just tried to driver guide and found the chipset software I was looking for (links and info below), this package contains drivers for audio, ethernet and Smbus controller memory; everything that you need.  I don't know why this isn't on the software/driver download page, but it is not. Hope this helps someone in the future, so you don't need to pull me hair link.

  I bought my Presario C783 long.

  I got one operating system other than XP, but after a while I found that he had become slow and so I went down to XP.

  I have simple demoted by download Windows XP SP3 cd and in making a USB flash drive and following the installation of Windows.

  After installing everything works fine but just sound does not come also I don't see any option on the taskbar volume control.

  I typed mmsys.cpl in run and tried to place the volume in my taskbar icon, but whatever it is empty and IT SHOWS NO READING DEVCES, DEVICES of REGISTRATION NO.

  If I suspect it has something to do with drivers.

  Please help me guys.

• Compaq Presario CQ62 USB drivers not installed?

  I get these annoying popup messages indicating that he has a problem to install the USB drivers. When I go into the Device Manager there is no exclamation mark next to all of the drivers in question. Here are as follows... 2936, 2937, 2938, 2939 293 a, 293C, 2934 and 2935. When I right click on them and get the drivers it gives me a warning that the new driver has been found to date but the problem install the new driver and I need to contact the manufacturer for a solution. Everything seems to work fine, but these popup messages appear on each startup, and it is rather boring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also my computer has been updated to the latest version without any other question.

  It's Tammy. I finally took the time this morning to upgrade the ram in my laptop, model C303nr. And I am desperate need help because something has gone terribly wrong.

  The laptop starts up to my office, I get nothing but then move lines, a little like snow tv, but more structured. I took the new memory on a couple of times and tried to re-sitting, but I get the same results. Furthermore, when I tried to put the old memory, exactly the same thing happens. Have I completely broke my laptop?

  Can you or anyone out there please help me. This is my first attempt to do something like that and I feel absolutely sick results.

  I must say once again, you have a way very appreciated to bring the balance to my pc problems.

  During my first attempt to install new ram not worked, I thought that I had inadvertently he damaged everything trying to embed. Then, when I couldn't get the old RAM to work either, I thought I had I damaged the laptop everything somehow. It was a horrible feeling.

However, when I read that you have recently encountered a problem with ram of your son, your post made me appreciate that sometimes things happen if its your first time or umpteenth time to do.

  In addition, I can imagine how the ram of your son was stuck. If that does not damage its ram, then maybe ram is a bit more durable than the shell egg-nitroglycerin, I felt... like manipulating its fragility should not always be a concern.

  OK... Here's what I did. A little detective work...

  I like to use the free 7-zip file utility to extract the components of the exe files.

  When I extracted the driver who is seconded by HP for your model files that I've linked you here above, is the ID of the hardware for the Conexant Audio chip driver supports.

  Do you know what model of wireless network card your PC came with?

  The list of parts does not help me because it shows that there may be one of 3 different model wireless network cards.

  If you are unsure, please do the following so I can understand what your laptop's model card...

  Go to Device Manager.  There should be a category of other devices containing a list of devices that need drivers under this category.

  The wireless card is labeled as a network controller.

  Click the network controller device, and then click the Details tab in the upper part of the window of network controller device.

  Now you should see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

  On this list and select the 3rd point (Hardware ID).

  After the first string of characters you see in the window.
