Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA: failure of the update of the BIOS via Support Assistant / should I update anyway?

This morning I found that my laptop had not finished closing 8 hours ago. I stopped by pressing the button Off for 6 seconds and restarted. I then looked a likely cause and saw that a BIOS problem was probably the cause.

I'm went to the site of HP support & with information about, I followed step 1 and I saw that my BIOS is F.11 21/08/2009.

Support site told me that I need F.11Rev1/20/10/2014. I installed, rebooted and saw that he had failed.

What's worse, is that the program Insyde update it says that the 2009 version is updated - see below.

A kind person could tell me what I should then?

You can manually update the BIOS for your laptop by downloading from the link below:

The current version available is F.23

Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

You will notice may-continuous display blank for a few seconds, which is quite normal. Once the update is actually the device automatically restarts.

Note to back up your data before performing the update. Also have your adapter connected to the laptop.

    You can do the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

Type regedit and click on enter - click Yes at the subsequent uac prompt

In the upper left corner of the Registry Editor screen, click on file and then select export from the menu

I tried to recover from USB with sp55356 and sp64612 but no luck.

On start-up, the bios made regular account that the HP OEM battery must renew. Not difficult technical question here.

  • notebook Compaq presario CQ71

My notebook compaq presario CQ71 pulls up, tells me it is loading files of the window and then crashes right on a blue screen forever. I tried every possible route through all the F - key functions without success, including the re-set at the factory, but still nothing. Any suggestions please?

Open the disk management window again and let that loading the partitions.

The lower display 'graphic' partition, right-click on the C partition and select 'Extend the Volume' to expand the C partition in the unallocated space.

Once the process is complete, click on the Start Menu and open computer - you should now see drive C has a size of about 465 GB.

  • Compaq presario notebook CQ71: mother of computer laptop compaq presario CQ71

mother of laptop Compaq presario CQ71

I have a question an abot in Selangor, this motherboard.

the graphics chip is separate or integrated.

My cq71 crashed and stopped working continuous overheating by weak graphics.

so ive decided to spend the whole motherboard.

but I need to know to or if I could spend graphics.

I have already upgraded to the ram for the future graphics card integrated.

also additional guides on how to pass map main would be apprteciated.

No RAM, but you would like to install a better processor, too. Look at the manual for CPU options. They will be pretty inexpensive at this stage. You should also another radiator/heater unit to work with the different video chip. But it adapts to your chassis. The only way to look at this case if you do your own work. Otherwise, the cost will approach the price of a new laptop computer. Even do your own work that you will probably have to spend more than $150.

  • Compaq presario cq71, sudden death, does not start

Compaq presario cq71-140ea. was fine yesterday but this morning it will not start. It turns on, displays of compaq on the screen and then does nothing. Have you tried pressing f10 to change the sequence of boot for the relocation, but it just says bios configure options at the bottom of the screen and will not actually in it. All keys have the same effect. Says on the bottom, what is it but isn't "doing". Does anyone have any ideas on how I can him get up and running?

Ruling on a BIOS corrupted, removing the CMOS (exhibit) just battery resets the default settings for the BIOS, but you do not have to remove the laptop battery as well. Did you remove the two batteries?

I still really want you to try to boot the machine with a stick of memory removed.

Here's a good video youtube, that he mentions on the battery and electric shock _ you won't electrocute yourself, the voltage inside a laptop is very low and also the battery will be removed.

Remove the stick dessu first (you don't have to replace the cover on the penalty), insert the battery back in and start. If no luck, remove the lower Strip and try this one. If it does not always start upward, then I would say that the BIOS is damaged. If it starts, then you have a bad stick of RAM.

The RAM sticks are matched, you can't make them in trust, me it's a very simple thing to do.

Also here is a link to HP multimedia Services library and some screenshots as getting there.

When you click the link you may have to sign in again, giving the two pages of time to load, especially the other, it takes about 30 seconds.

In the video he says you only touch the memory stick to the edges, it is a good idea, but I've seen people deal with it very casually and it's always nice. However just follow the steps in the video.

I mention this once again and that's to make sure that you're statically discharged before opening the laptop.

After trying the solution of the RAM (Random Access Memory) and if it fails, you will need a 1 GB flash drive. If there is something on this subject, and then save the information we have will be formatted.

Flash player is required to save your BIOS.

I guess we'll use your computer for girls, so I need to know what operating system is on it.

My compaq Presario xq 60 I forgot the password is showing a system disable password 97718428
    Thank you

It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

If you need help with selection and replace of the disk station hard back with model number & full product as indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop.

My laptop model number is Pavilion dv6t 7000. In recent days, he had a problem. When I turned off my laptop and put it off, the next day I find that is not starting. A black screen, caps lock shift is blicking twice and f12 key is red (WIFI). Nothigs happen. Then, I searched and came to know that it is the failure of the bios. Then I tried some way and nothings worked. ATLAST when I remove the cmos battery it set again after 2 or 1 minute its starts fine. Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. But today this tip does not work. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all. • Updated the BIOS via bootable USB drive

I want to update the BIOS by using the ISO image provided. I want to write this image a usb, then on startup, the bios update. How to create bootable USB drive.

My system is E430, although the question is pretty generic.

    Hi again, ahaider7

I don't think that a program would be necessary. However, after doing more research, I'm not sure the work process. In addition, update the BIOS via USB is not supported, because as far as I know. If you want to update the BIOS of your machine, I highly recommend using the utility to update the BIOS. You can also burn the .iso to a CD and the image file.

  • Update the BIOS via broken WinPlash SATEGO P100-10U. Now just black screen.

I did an upgrade of the Bios via WinPlash as I installed the XBox Live. Upgrading the Bios did not work (stupid me) and therefore, I'll have just a black screen after that I have turn on the monitor. The machine emits no beep, nor does it show anything else.
    I have subsequently:
Downloaded the WinPlash on another PC. As it says in the doc (unziped in a folder), but the file '... ". for bootable CD"is not generated (nothing else that the files have been copied).
Subsequently I have burned (all files = part of Vista 32 Bit) with NERO on a bootable CD, but it does not start the program (CD starts spinning, LED in CD / DVD flashes yellow then it stops).
Then, I only copied their executables on a USB key, tired to load it from there - ZERO nothing but the sound of the screens black and fan.

Tried to access the Bios with combinations of power sur-bouton ' "+ ESC, F1, F2, F10, F12, Del, ALT (as the left of the SPACE key), CTRL.

Could someone tell me if there is a start-up tool or a BIOS image tha starts, or a special touch?

so, you have little chance really bad because this issue needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I had a similar problem and have searched for a few weeks for a resolution quick and good cheap but I couldn t find anywhere these tools mentioned you´ve.

Your only chance to bring the machine back to life is to contact a [ASP (certified partner) |]
and allow them to correct this problem. I asked a lot of people here, but no one from toshiba is here to give some nice tools... :(

Hope that your machine will come back to life.

    Welcome them
