Update the BIOS via broken WinPlash SATEGO P100-10U. Now just black screen.

Hello

I did an upgrade of the Bios via WinPlash as I installed the XBox Live. Upgrading the Bios did not work (stupid me) and therefore, I'll have just a black screen after that I have turn on the monitor. The machine emits no beep, nor does it show anything else.
I have subsequently:
Downloaded the WinPlash on another PC. As it says in the doc (unziped in a folder), but the file '... ". for bootable CD"is not generated (nothing else that the files have been copied).
Subsequently I have burned (all files = part of Vista 32 Bit) with NERO on a bootable CD, but it does not start the program (CD starts spinning, LED in CD / DVD flashes yellow then it stops).
Then, I only copied their executables on a USB key, tired to load it from there - ZERO nothing but the sound of the screens black and fan.

Tried to access the Bios with combinations of power sur-bouton ' "+ ESC, F1, F2, F10, F12, Del, ALT (as the left of the SPACE key), CTRL.

Could someone tell me if there is a start-up tool or a BIOS image tha starts, or a special touch?

Concerning
Thomas

Hello

so, you have little chance really bad because this issue needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I had a similar problem and have searched for a few weeks for a resolution quick and good cheap but I couldn t find anywhere these tools mentioned you´ve.

Your only chance to bring the machine back to life is to contact a [ASP (certified partner) | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT]
and allow them to correct this problem. I asked a lot of people here, but no one from toshiba is here to give some nice tools... :(

Hope that your machine will come back to life.

Welcome them

    Hi again, ahaider7

I don't think that a program would be necessary. However, after doing more research, I'm not sure the work process. In addition, update the BIOS via USB is not supported, because as far as I know. If you want to update the BIOS of your machine, I highly recommend using the utility to update the BIOS. You can also burn the .iso to a CD and the image file.

  • ProBook G3 450: I've updated the bios on my g3 Probook 450 and now potrs usb do not work

I've updated the bios and after restarting the pc no usb port work and the usb serial bus is not listed in Device Manager. I have not received any error.

    Hi Richrob,

Usually after the BIOS updates I recommend restoring the default BIOS because some parameters may change or managed power States must be refreshed. If you start at the F10 menu there will be a restoration of the default BIOS on the home page.

If the USB bus does not return to the top after restoring default values, try to reinstall the USB driver. You can find the latest version for Windows 7 here.

  • Update the Bios HSA broken my laptop

I have a first generation Envy 14, number of product VX778AV, bought in July 2010. I'm runniong Windows 7/64. Night final HP Support Assistant advised me an update of the bios, I applied through HSAS. Once the installation started an error window appears with the message "Error check" and my laptop froxe. After about 20 minutes of my still frozen computer and top graphics card fan all the time, I removed the battery and unplugged the AC to get the computer to shutdown. From the beginning to the top, I get a black screen with rotating graphics card fan works continuously at the top: but no post screen. Lock caps lock flashes 4 times, including info about HP research, says it's a graphics card problem.

I don't look at the version of the bios before updating and guess that the update was version f.26. HSA do exactly to my laptop computer and is - this repairable?

    Thanks in advance.

Solved the problem through spare laptop forum. For others with the same problem (I heard that a number of people have been similar problems), follow these steps:
    1. remove the battery, unplug,.
    2. Press win + b, plug it in, turn it on.
    3. when the machine starts, release win + b.
    4. wait a minute to see what happens, but is expected to begin the process of restoring previous BIOS

  • DCC - cannot update the BIOS via command line settings

I'm script an automated installation of Bitlocker on Windows 7 and 8.1 systems (company).  I use the last DCC and programs CCTK that came with it.  Systems have the latest BIOS updates, and are fully patched.

I managed with several test systems (Win7, desktop computers, laptop computers (different models)).  I tried my scripts this morning on a laptop computer Win8.1 (Dell E6330) and as soon as my script runs to the addition of the password of the BIOS needed to make TPM changes ("cctk - setuppwd =" "") I get the following error:

The required BIOS interfaces is not found on this system.

I get the same error when running any other command CCTK used in my script:
    CCTK - tpm =-valsetuppwd =
    Activate CCTK - tpmactivation = - valsetuppwd =

When I restart in the BIOS, no password has been set (all parameters are say no 'set') and the secure platform module is inactive.

I updated to the latest BIOS (A14) and I get the above error message.  I know that orders CCTK I have scripted are correct, because they work on other systems.

I wonder what could be the problem with this notebook and how I can come up with a solution.

    Thoughts?  Suggestions?

    Thank you!

    -Greg

Just a quick update to let everyone know how I solved this:

    I had to install HAPI.

On all other facilities that I have tested, just have the HAPI subfolder in the folder where CCTK. EXE was hosted was sufficient for work.  But for some reason some, in this case, once I installed HAPI and then ran my scripts again, they finished without a problem.

I hope this helps someone else.  Seemed to be a solution simply absurd, but it is what it is.

  • Re: Installed update the BIOS for my Pro Satellite L300D and now screen does not work

    Hello

I installed the update of the BIOS 3 days ago, I had a few programs that are open at the time and also an external USB mouse in time. The hard drive crashed and then blacked out, but the power was still on the turbine runs at full skin. I tried to turn off the computer by the power button, but it wouldn't, so I let it run out of battery. Since then, the computer seems to turn on but the screen has been blackened since then, I can't see what the State of the hard drive is in.

    Any ideas?

    Hello!

Oh dude, it looks like that your ROM module is damged due to a defective BIOS update :(

A BIOS update should normally * do not get with the implementation of substantive programmes (also antivirus). I think that's the reason why the n t successfully update.

However, you can do nothing. You will need help from a technician for laptop that can try to reflash the ROM module On the Toshiba page, you can search an ASP:

  • New W510, update the BIOS - black screen on startup - guaranteed?

    Hi all!

I got a new W510 and decided to update the BIOS via the executable Windows 7 provided by Lenovo for their support-web. The program is run properly (all green checkmarks), the machine has been restarted and then stopped and started again - but she never stopped showing the "ThinkPad" screen POST. The machine started throwing his fans after some time and the machine felt hot enough it is up to the right. I waited a bit (say 4-5 minutes) if there was some additional BIOS update which took place, but nothing happened after a while, I decided to stop it. Now when I boot, the screen is all black.

This will cover in the included warranty? It must be, right?

Sorry for my late reply. As I think it is clear from my earlier post, there was still no way to load default BIOS that the screen went black as soon as I started the machine.

Two days later from my first message I sent it in for repair. Almost 4 weeks after and TWO motheboards (first one was apparently DOA) later, the machine works now. As it seems, Lenovo had some problems for spare parts quickly enough because it took almost 2-3 weeks just to get the first map of mother (DOA).

Anyway, even if it took some time, I can now enjoy my new machine

You should be able to update via the BACK without any problem and should not affect your BIOS settings.

  • Qosmio G30 PQG31E - no driver XP 32? Cannot update the BIOS?

As usual, obtained a computer laptop, but no recovery CD :(

Got 32 installed XP (my Microsoft contract does not MCE) but a lot of missing drivers. Driver Toshiba page has all the drivers for XP MCE, XP 32 has only BIOS update, Bluetooth, HD - DVD firmwares, the virtual sound and drivers WI - FI!

So I tought "Vista on this issue", but I checked the compatibility XP with Vista DVD I got a 'need to update the BIOS' (always a 1.40-2006/03/10)!
My problem is that BIOS update always returns "this computer is not supported! Laptop has only one account, this isn't permissions problem, perhaps because many drivers are not present? Can I update the BIOS in safe mode?

What now? Am stuck with a brick of Qosmio? Without controllers LAN to say the least, I can't not fact! Drivers XP MCE does work on XP 32?

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

I found all the Win XP drivers for Qosmio G30 PQG31E!
On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find the Win XP MCE drivers
XP MCE drivers are the same drivers for Win XP Home or Pro.

There are also some BIOS 3, 90-WIN and this BIOS is operating system independent. In other words, it works with Win XP and Vista...

To update the BIOS the common Module must be installed
You can find also on the European driver Toshiba page!

I was able to enter XP MCE by pressing the Enter key when the Welcome screen. Now I cannot and must click on the photo of the small image. Is it because of 3.8 BIOS that I put in place recently or not? Can I do this option still works? Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t know if you can restore this option but you should access the BIOS and try to define again the default settings t.
Don t forget to save the settings if you exit BIOS ;)

But I really don't understand why you have updated the BIOS. If the laptop is running without any problems a BIOS update is not necessary!

  • Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA: failure of the update of the BIOS via Support Assistant / should I update anyway?

This morning I found that my laptop had not finished closing 8 hours ago. I stopped by pressing the button Off for 6 seconds and restarted. I then looked a likely cause and saw that a BIOS problem was probably the cause.

I'm went to the site of HP support & with information about http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c00007682, I followed step 1 and I saw that my BIOS is F.11 21/08/2009.

Support site told me that I need F.11Rev1/20/10/2014. I installed, rebooted and saw that he had failed.

What's worse, is that the program Insyde update it says that the 2009 version is updated - see below.

More old Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA screwed up by free upgrade from Microsoft of Win7 for Win10

    Hello

You can manually update the BIOS for your laptop by downloading from the link below:

The current version available is F.23

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp51501-52000/sp51527.exe

Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

You will notice may-continuous display blank for a few seconds, which is quite normal. Once the update is actually the device automatically restarts.

Note to back up your data before performing the update. Also have your adapter connected to the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - after updating the BIOS, it does not

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my old of Satellite Pro 6100.

I started to upgrade the Bios via download from Toshiba (using WIN) site - OK downloaded zip files and installed, machine then stops. Problem, it does not restart - it's so now I have a laptop 'death' that is not responding to any key I tried.

    Any suggestions of resuscitation?

Already I've updated from XP to SP2.

    Thank you

    Hello

It sounds like that the BIOS update has failed and your laptop can start t again. But try this workaround:
Remove the AC adapter and the battery and then wait an hour. After that reconnect the adapter AC/DC and battery. Try to start the laptop.

If it doesn t work I think that the motherboard needs to be replaced or you go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can reflash the ROM module
But maybe you can find a motherboard of second hand cheap on eBay

  • Portege 3500: missing system32 - update the BIOS?

    Hello world

I got a Portege 3500 PIII-M 1.33 GHz, which has been infected by a virus. I tried to reinstall Windows Xp, but the SYSTEM32 file is missing or damaged.

I downloaded the BIOS driver and tried to install it via an external CD drive, but it did not work.
Could you please help me at all?
I am very concerned about the situation

Can't wait to hear from you

    Thank you

    Davide

    Hello

I can t believe that the virus may damage the BIOS!
I think that you have updated the BIOS with the wrong procedure.
Have you checked the BIOS update document?

In any case, the fault of system32 has nothing to do with the BIOS and I don t understand why you started the update of the BIOS.

The Portege 3500 does not support an internal hard drive, and so if you want to install the operating system, you must use a compatible external PC card reader.
I assume you are using this player to start.

If some error messages appear during the installation, you must first format the whole HARD drive and delete all partitions and then try again to boot from the recovery CD!

  • Update the BIOS on the Satellite 1900-803

I just tried to update my bios on the recommendation of Microsoft because of reported serious CPU/bios conflicts.

The routine bios flash downloaded seems to work well from the disk for about two minutes then suddenly shut the computer laptop everything without warning. The machine has restarted but only with a screen empty and not yet start either from floppy disks or hard drives.

The front panel LED screen display the infrared icon in solid red without any Flash (there is no reference in the instruction booklet).
I tried several keystrokes on re - boot from information obtained via google searches on the internet. None of them seem to make any difference. Supplied with the machine recovery CD does not work either re-boot when it is used with the recommended C more switch button power switch.
I thought you are trying to reset the password using one of these parallel port fixers described on the net?
Other ideas on a way forward?
I guess that Toshiba offers no guarantee with their routines in the bios even if I lost a considerable amount of important data?

    Kind regards
    James

    Hello

You are right. The guarantee only if no coverage of this misfortune.
It seems that the laptop does not start because you have updated the BIOS with the wrong version or the wrong update procedure.

Most of the time it's not easy to estimate what might be the problem.
Maybe you are a lucky man and the BIOS chip be flashed only once again using a special procedure.
In the worst cases, the jury is dead and you need a new

Seems so you will have to contact the service technicians in your country.
