  I bought this laptop of goodwill, have my receipts and other documentation that accompanies it.  I bought a HP DVD and a power supply of the Amazon, the value of recovery however when I turn it on, the power on password is required.  Like I dunno, need me a "System disabled" error "Key: 60250082.  Please help, I've now spent so much money trying to get this system works, unfortunately Goodwill sold to me without the power cord so that I did not know that this problem existed.

• Compaq Presario CQ50-110EM power supply issue

  I have the laptop above and, recently, it wouldn't boot, I discovered that it was due to a faulty memory.  As I have 2 slots memory (1 GB of RAM in each), I decided to order a new module of memory 2 GB RAM and just use working memory.

  However (I have not yet rceivedthe new RAM) since this problem my laptop is currently not supported.  The adapter does not witness charge LED and when mobile I take out the battery and try to start it just via the adapter it does not.

  After searching for the official HP troubleshooting tips everyone ended up with "you must buy a new adapter" which I ordered now.  However, since she told me it might actually be the power socket on the laptop that is the issue and that it is welded oto the motherboard I had an enormous cost.

  Anyone had the same problems as me?  Might the matter to be able to be linked to the question of memory?  The laptop is only 18 months, and if the memory slot and power went on the motherboard I certainly don't buy Compaq again!

  Problem solved was fortunately just the power adapter.

  I wanted to upgrade the processor. I have 2 extra cpu a Sempron 2500 + and an Athlon 64 3200 +.

  I asked for advice on the card of another (wrong place, laptops), but got some good advice.

  I decided to try the Athlon 64. After having removed the radiator and the fan and replace the cpu,

  I get the ERROR: CPU Fan has failed! PC will turn off automatically in a few seconds.

  PC service immediately to avoid damage to the PC.

  I tried the Sempron, same thing.

  I made sure that all the connections are good. The fan turned by the way... Works very well.

  I studied the error and and found advice to enter the bios by pressing F1 and adjustment

  the bios with the default settings. I can't get into the bios. I pressed on, F1, Del, and F10. F2 will enable

  to continue to start. The processor is listed as unknown to the station.

  So how can I access the Bios? I kill the PC?

  N ° you should have cleared CMOS before installing the CPU. The voltage and FSB settings are different on the Athlon 64.

  Remove CMOS battery and set the clear CMOS in position 2-3 then press and hold the power button to @15 seconds or more.

  Reinstall the original CPU back in to check that all is well.

  If all is well then update your BIOS to the most recent available such that he would have supported for processors more. The link is to the latest BIOS for your motherboard from the PC.

  Clear CMOS again, and then reinstall the Athlon64
