  I have a requirement where I need to display the ToolTip in OBIEE 11 G reports when it hovers over its data. For example, if I have a column in a report that shows "serial No." say the column data is 1,2,3,4,5 etc. when I hover over 1, it should display name corresponding to it. When I switch to 2, it should display a different name.
  
  Those values that will be displayed on score action can be hard-coded, they are static values.

• Oracle DB compared to Java

  Hi guys,.
  
  Sorry that I am raising a topic already discussed and debated. But I recently had a discussion with my boss about DB compared to java.
  
  I am programmer pl/sql and oracle user and I have very little knowledge in java and I'm not saying that everything that is related to data in DB must be done in DB, SQL and PL/SQL. and let oracle to use any cache and any accessory mechanism available to it. Data must remain close to the DB.
  
  Sound / the other version was:
  -C' is very expensive to 'add new hardware' to work with oracle DB. The license is very expensive, and the decision was to move all the processes of the DB and put it in the java application servers. Load the result of any sql in java and do the treatment there.
  -Java has elegant mechanism to the things of the cache. You can put the result of a SQL in memory and can be used by the entire application. (has something similar except oracle SGA... hide)
  -The procedures are useful when you do not back and forth of java DB. But if this isn't the case, we will do everything in java.
  
  
  Can you please help with that? Give me your opinion and any documentation/link that you have with other discussions.

  Computer moving the database is a horrible idea.

  The most effective treatment will be inside the database, not outside.

  Hi all

  I am very new to OBIEE, I just want to know how to pass parameters to my report below is my script

  I have the Date parameter

  I just want to run report based on my Date setting should it be between my report start date and end date fields how can I achieve this, Pls reply its urgent bit

  Use presentation Variables.

  1 make a quick date. and click on change, go to options and select presentation varialbes and set your variable presentation.

  2. go in your report, add the field date in filter and in the filter, click Add more options and set your variable of presentation there. Click ok

  3. Once you set the filter with varialbe presentation, the filter should show something like

  date equal to / in @{PresentationVarialbename}

  Note: normally, if you set your prompt <= or="">= even equals GOLD shall be brought in the report filter if you use the variable presentation. In this case more to ride the prompt setting, use sql based filter by clicking on the check box "convert to SQL" and you set the operator according to the need.

  For OBIEE 10 g, it works perfectly - put images in

  that seems to be OK...
  
  The netstat command response confuses me much since I found (and also of external) record for TCP Local address (should be < IP localhost >: 9704), which lead me to the point that, probably one of the OBIEE 11 g services not started OR I made a mistake during installation of OBIEE 11 g, although the system did not send a message about this possibility. BTW, the BI Publisher on this machine works correctly.

  Not able to open the IAM blog you referred to above.

  Make sure that you have deployed the analyticsRes component as shown in http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/bi/bi1113/customizing_obiee11g/customizing_obiee11g.htm. Create a folder called produced under analyticsres and start accessing images.

• OBIEE BI Publisher report

  In a predefined layout that I need to produce Excel reports, an Excel from a client with the details and the name of the excel file should be customer numbers, if there are 50 visitors the editor should produce 50 excel reports. Also the exact same report or a copy of the report must also be saved as a PDF report with the same name but a pdf extension. Please help on if or how this is possible or if there is another way totally other than BI publisher, please let me know.

  I confused with your req. If there is a relationship between the customer number and the data produced in the report then follow the following procedure in OBIEE

  1. create a security group for these 50 users and then apply filter visibility of data with customer number.
  2. now, create a report
  3. create two ibots with visibility of custom data, one for output to excel and others for the pdf. Add resipients with s group created in step 1
  4. now to plan both the ibots to deliver two exits to 50 users
  5. data will be carried out according to needs but file name is the same for all users and the data will be different based on the number of customer
  6 maybe you can convince them to this topic or you may need to script to rename the file with the customer's name or number and deliver the file shell.

• Compare the issue - Source report coming as * changed?

  We recently received a 1099 from Oracle patch. We connected to our DEMO as VP1 and used change Wizard to add the patch. I then ran a report compares against Production where I know that we have a couple of objects 1099 customizations. In the comparison report, I said "Keep the customizations", but when I look at the report I just through source = * changed of goods delivered by Oracle. When I look at the definition of the object in the DEMO, it shows the last LASTUPDATEOPRID as VP1 and the flags are set to 'copy' and 'upgrade', which we do not want because it would crush our customizations and makes unnecessary comparison results.

  The LASTUPDOPRID is set to VP1 because we identified as that of VP1? If so, how can we get around this so that the results of the comparison are valid?

  Check the oprid in the patch file by opening the zip file and find the PRJxxxxxx.XML file in the PRJxxxxxx folder (where xxxxxx is the id of update). Search for in the file and see if they are all PPLSOFT or VP1. If its VP1, then you will need to follow up with Oracle. And then, if its PPLSOFT you can track with Oracle to know how it ended as VP1 in your database.

• Oracle error in OBIEE 11 g reports

  Hi all

  We are facing a strange question to OBIEE 11 g. We have about 10 pages of dashboard. in these pages a few reports throwing below error.

  ORA-01722 invalid number to BEAK

  These reports have worked for at least one year. There is no problem. But since yesterday, this error is popping up. got session SQL and executed in DB, physical SQL works very well in DB, but logical SQL throw (same error) in the database. What could be the problem? any help will be much appreciated.

  How do you calculate the sum? means on which column? and finally you calculate the sum in a session of apex? (because apex_collections view is related to the current session of the application)

  I see that your columns (c001, c002, c003 or c004) are only varchar2, if you are sure that it is a number column then it is best to use the number of columns (n001, n002...)

• OBIEE Performance based on the Machine customer specifications

  Recently, I was testing OBIEE dashboard reports using two types of laptops, and strangely, I get different performance for both machines.
  First machine, I used is Dell Latitude D430 with 1.33 GHz and 1.99 GB of RAM. A successfully cache the reports take almost 20 ~ 25 dry and sometimes little more than to return to the user interface.
  Second machine, I used is Dell Latitude E4300 with 2.26. GHz and 1.95 GB of RAM. For this machine with cache hit reports developed in 5 seconds.
  I'm really confused. The speed of the system can it makes such a big difference in the performance? I use a LAN connection in my office for test reports.
  I'll be very grateful if someone can shed some light on this.

  Using IE6 is bad practice. Anyway, there are a lot of configuration options in the browser. Check the security and proxy configs.

• OBIEE / BI Publisher report question

  Hi, quick OBIEE / question BI Publisher. We have an obligation to produce a very formatted report, complex. All data are in OBIEE - but there are several disciplines necessary to answer questions (thus queries of multiple responses).
  
  Assuming that I can create a report of responses with the raw data for each section (a "header" section, section ' detailed costs', section 'budget', etc. - which everyone would be in a separate query responses), is it possible to use BI Publisher to then "chaining" each section separated into one integrated report?
  
  I'm not very be applied BI Publisher. I know how to use a query answers like 'source' for a report of BI Publisher. But I don't know how to have multiple responses on a single BI Publisher report queries.

  Hi Scott,.

  In your report, BEEP, you will need a separate set 'data' for each answer. What you need to do is click on 'Data model' and select 'Concatenated SQL Data Source' as the main data set. It will combine the results into a single xml result set.
