Compatiablity HotSync with Centro

Is compatiable 5.0 with the Centro HotSync?  Where could I find a copy?

I guess that it is not because it is an older version. Recommended versions to use are the following: the free download of palm.com is 4.1.4e with Hotsync v6.0.1 - CD version is 4.2 with Hotsync v6.0.1 - and the version of Vista is palm desktop v6.2 with hotsync v7.1.

I found the solution to this problem with another Member of this forum.

I downloaded the free program DbFixIt of Pimlico Software, Inc., www.pimlicosoftware.com, & was able to install it on my Palm Centro.  I ran the program & it removed 2 problems of the Calendar database.  After that, the HotSync operation took place without problems.

You can first try the next option.

There may be the database at the source of the problem. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will search the database and then to declare the corruption. You can then search records at the origin of the problem and fix them yourself or you can buy the program and do it automatically repair records.

  • Unable to hotsync my Centro (ATT)

I had my Centro for Aub.'08 and was able to HotSync with success since then with the coming error messages: PMTrace unsaved data and protocol error: not open your Handheld (4004), SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN.  However, my last successful HotSync was February 1.  Now, it will not sync my calendar.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times and even downloaded the latest version of the office.  This is all very frustrating and not sure what to do next.  Probably could use some suggestions.

PM trace database is common and causes no problem other than the error itself. If your calendar is not synchronization, then it became quite possibly the currupted on the PC or the Centro. The best thing to do is to uncheck the duct of the agenda or set it to nothing according to the version of Palm Desktop. Then download and install the trial dbfixit version and first, click with the right button on the upper-left corner within the application and remove all the blobs of calendar. Then, run easy control. It will show you any errors that it finds. Save the dates and remove them. Then change the conduit for handheld overrides desktop and sync. (Buy the dbfixit program will allow you to have remove errors instead of do you it manually.)

  • HotSync with the Agenda

My Palm T | X hotsyncs perfectly with my computer Win XP pro with each application except the agenda.  When the Agenda is selected for synchronization, desktop and handheld computer hangs at the point 2 of the 12.  Does anyone have a solution?  No, I don't use Outlook but uses the desktop 6.2.

    Thanks for your thoughts

    Tom

Hello Tom_Gore, welcome to the Palm support community.

This question was asked several times here... two ways to solve the problem.

1 do a HotSync with the conduit for defined agenda on "Desktop replaces handheld.  This will write own copies of what you have HotSynced to your PC to your TX.

    2. download and install DBFixit to pimlicosoftware.com.  The free download will scan your TX for corruption and will fix some problems.  Others can request the subscription of the program to repair the damage.

  • Centro HotSync with Palm V6.2.2 hangs on the AGENDA - no record of calendar on the Palm Desktop

First of all, let me say that I hate the new version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and ongoing problems, I do a hotsync.  Today, I had to restart my computer I "uninstalled" an unrelated program on my computer.  When I rebooted my computer and open my Palm Desktop, all calendar data was gone.  Since my Centro has recently been hotsync d, I hung up and tried to synchronize.  The device and the desktop 'locked' in the CALENDAR function.  I found another post on the Forum where people from tech support says to 'download the trial version of Pimlico DbFixit' which I did and ran.  It indicates a problem too: DB-SNLT calendar: Both Description and Note are empty - usually a registry damaged.  REC = Date of 1508 = 11/01/09.  I also went in Palm Desktop and in the section 'Applications' found 'AGENDA' and the Nations United CHECKED.  Execution of hotsync again once allowed me to update everything EXCEPT the calendar.

HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND GET THE TIMING BACK ON MY DESKTOP?

I basically he fixed me after having used the trial version Dbfixit.  Your person to help chat told me to buy the product and then allow it to correct any errors in my data base.  It would have been a waste of money that the fix was easy once I knew what was wrong.

  • T5 HotSync with Treo 700wx

I have a T5 Tungstun which I hot sync with the Palm Desktop software. I would get the Palm Treo 700wx smartphone. However, I noticed that the Treo 700wx uses Windows Mobile OS and my T5 uses Palm OS

I then HotSync Treo 700wx with Palm Desktop or I must get all my Palm desktop data into Outlook.

    Thank you

Hello.. Welcome to the forums of Palm.  The 700wx is indeed windows mobile and will only synchronize with outlook.  It is possible to synchronize your T5 to outlook or you can go to http://www.chapura.com/pocketcopy.php and buy copy of pocket which automatically switch you data from palm desktop to outlook.  Then you 700wx would be able to synchronize data.

  • Problem of HotSync with Tungsten E

All of a sudden, when I touched the hot sync button on the spot which is held, I hear the "boink-boink" in the office, but then nothing happens.

Then I get the error message: "the connection between your computr handheld and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your game back upward.

I even went up to remove Palm desktop and then reloaded with the original disc.

    Help?

Well, there are two things that must be done in order for hotsync function properly

    1. your computer recognizes the device as a pocket with no problems at palm computer
2 Hotsync recognizes the device as being connected.

At least that number 1 is occurring without number 2 won't.

If you are familiar with your computer's Device Manager, run that... While you look at Device Manager try hotsync and see if it recognizes the unit correctly if he acknowledges incorrectly, you will see a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

If there is an exclamation point. Make a click right on it and it say to uninstall the drivers. Unplug your device, then perform a soft reset. Once the machine starts back again and try an another hotsync.

  • Sync Outlook NOTES with Centro MEMOS?

I'm trying to understand how to SYNCHRONIZE the memos that I take on my Centro, with the Notes that I go into Outlook.

    I use Outlook 2003 SP3.

I can get my memos to synchronize using HOTSYNC... but they will not appear in Palm Desktop.

Preference - I would like to make this synchronization happen 'automatically' over the air (Verizon network) as well as my calendar, email and Contacts.

But - at the time - I'd be happy with ANY syncronization between memos and Notes.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't know why it didn't work before... but I just downloaded the Version of PALM DESKTOP 6.2 software and reinstalled.

    I have HotSyncManager 7.0.2

It now seems to work... I can send / received NOTES / MEMOS.

I don't think it works "over the air" using synchronization of Verizon (which would be most excellent)... but at least I have a way for my Centro and Outlook to synchronize.

    Hope this helps someone else!

Palm Desktop Win62 offers no connection in the menu bluetooth USB is the only option, but do not work. When you use hotsync error portable device is: hotwync due to the serial port cannot be used by another application.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Best regards

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Make sure Palm Desktop or your E2 are both set to HotSync via the docking USB cable.   When I open Palm Desktop on my laptop and click the HotSync icon, then connections, I see these options:

    USB

    Network (TCP/IP)

    Serial

If you don't see these, then I suggest that you do a clean uninstall/reinstall of Palm Desktop.

USB for Palm Desktop 6.2.2 version works fine on my x 2 HP spectrum loan.

These instructions are for Vista, but should work for Win7.

You first need to you a copy of your data to have just in case something happens. You can find your data files by clicking on start-> Documents-> Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop user name and right click and copy. Then go to the desktop of your PC, click on a blank spot block and select.

If this is the first time, you install Palm desktop and encounter a problem, go to the previous step. If you are not concerned about your data at this stage, go to the next step.

Now, you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do with Palm Desktop on your computer. Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below. [C:\Program Files\Palm or C:\Users\[Vista Palm connection name] \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne C:\Users\[Vista Login Name] \appdata * note you may need to show hidden folders to join appdata. To do than to go into your control panel and open folder options. Go to tab and uncheck hide hidden files.

When you use Palm desktop 6.2, look in my documents or documents and delete the folder Office of PalmOS. It is the location of the PD 6.2 data files.

Once this is done, you will need to remove certain keys in the registry of your PC operating system.

Word of warning, go here and removing the wrong thing can cause your PC to start, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel that you are not sure of yourself, see if you have a friend who can help you or a PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to remove. To make sure that we have a good copy of the current registry, we make a backup of the registry.

Go to start on your PC in the search box type "regedit.exe" without the quotes.

Point peak COMPUTER, go to file-> Export. Should appear with a save as box. Current place of residence is fine, must be within My Documents, or save to a location that you will remember. In the name of the file in low type "backup [todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Then, the most difficult part.

The best way to ensure that your work with the right key, select the key that is installation quick palm and press delete on your keyboard. You will be asked, you of course. Say Yes. Do the same for all the keys below.

If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician. BUT do not turn off your computer.

The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of the theses reg keys will not be here, but if they remove them)

    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer * Robotics\Pilot Desktop HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm

    Then, restart your computer.

Then, reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD (or a download) and do a hotsync. If request you a user name, enter the name that is on your device in the upper right of the screen to hotsync.

Infrared is a standard of the IR on the z22 is the same whether on the Zire 21, so if it works on that it should work on the other.
