This Intel wireless card is compatible with my laptop? If not would you suggest 802.11ac complaint for my laptop wireless adapter?

Thank you

Hello

Well, I could see Intel Dual band Wireless - AC 3160 802.11ac 1 x 1 WiFi + BT combo adapter listed in the manual of your product:

HP part number: 710662-005
(NOTE: due to the announcement of HP White wireless module, you can only buy compatible listed specific section in your manual & there is no 100% guarantee that it will work at all)

Look for it in the HP part surfer according to your region:

  • HP Elitebook 8470p: possible upgrade to Intel AC 7260 802.11ac wireless? HP Elitebook 8470p

I want to improve the wireless card on the 8470 p, and I read that HP has whitelisted some Wi - Fi cards, so only those approved by HP may really work

Now the 8470p is released in 2010 / 2011 (?) - some time then anyway and 802.11ac wasn't really one thing in 2011 (at least not outside the offices of the IEEE)

I found this on the interwebs:

    http://Forum.techinferno.com/HP-business-class-notebooks/6691-installing-wireless-card-Intel-AC-7260...

And this person implies that it would be possible to type in a 802.11ac wireless adapter and it would only work? Thought ID ask the official HP forums, because it's a HP product!

    Thank you

EDIT: The Solution is wrong. See jlong pos

No AC adapters will not work. Only wifi cards that are on the whitelist, that is those in the manual and only ref HP versions of those.

The Intel cards are limited to the Ref. HP versions contrary to the statements of the Wicki guy. There are a few options of 5 GHz, but not 802.11ac cards. Sometimes the cards that are not in the manual will work somehow and I know there is a 7260N that many people confuse for the 7260ac card. I know that the 7260AC will NOT work because we had messages before people here who have tried, but it would not shock me if a 7260N card would work. Cannot promise, however. It is largely a guessing game since the actual whitelist itself has never been made public.

  • Extending Airport Extreme 802.11ac with older Airport Extreme 802.11n

I need to extend the coverage of my wifi and I have an a 802.11ac AE and two former, 802.11n AE units and all are still functional.  Specifically, can the newest Airport Extreme 802.11ac extended by an older Airport Extreme 802.11n if it is connected by ethernet cable?  If it can be done, what setting (bridge mode or extend the network mode) should be used on the 802.11ac model?  Any other need to know the tips would be greatly appreciated as well.  Thank you...

can the newest Airport Extreme 802.11ac be extended by an older Airport Extreme 802.11n if it is connected by ethernet cable?

Yes, it's can... goal that the wireless "ac" will not be extended, of course. Here, I assume you think 802.11ac airport your 'main' airport and airport 802.11n as the airport of their extension.

which parameter (bridge mode or extend the network mode) should be used on the 802.11ac model?

You would not change the settings on the 802.11ac airport

Reset an 802.11n AirPort Extreme back to factory default settings

Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the three ports on the airport of 802.11ac for WAN "O" from the airport on the AirPort Extreme 802.11n which extend the LAN network<-->

Configuration to use Apple "Assistant" to put in place the AirPort Extreme 802.11n and it will feature the correct Assembly for you.  Everything you really need to do is assign a name that you want to call the airport and "Wizard" will take care of everything else.

With this model HP Envy has anyone tried upgrading the card wireless to the 7260HMW of Intel to enable 802.11ac wireless connectivity?

Ain t going to work. This model still has the white list of BIOS that will block the use of any wireless card that isn't: approved by HP; and marked with a part number of HP. I'm sorry.

I recently purchased Intel 802.11ac mini PCIe card and tried to replace 802.11n card in my Lenovo W540. He released the famous problem with BIOS whitelist blocking:

    1802: unauthorized network card is plugged - power off and remove the network adapter (8086 / 08B 1 / 8086 / C070).

The card itself is approved FCC (FCC ID: PD97260NG)

I've updated the UEFI/BIOS in hopes that maybe he was too old to recognize the card - but no luck. Even with a 2.17 UEFI firmware there not yet accept the card. Can we do anything about it? Are UEFI future updates is going to fix it or Lenovo basically approves a list of supplier codes and ignores the rest?

I tried to find all the cards sold directly through Lenovo, but can't find anything, that's why I had to buy one separately. But it rejects it. Can we do anything about it except find another card? And if not, what 802.11ac Intel adapters can be used?

My Macbook is connected to a router TP - Link Archer C7 on 802.11ac v02 (5 GHz). Sitting next to the router speed is between 800 and 900 Mbps.

First I had problems after wake her from her sleep. Speed has fallen to 7 Mbps. After toggling wifi turned off/lit, speed was normal.

Now, I've upgraded to 10.11.3. At the start speed is between 29 and 59 Mbps. sometimes it gets easier, but maximum is of 400 Mbps.

    I tried:

    -Reboot everything

    -Removed Wifi config/service

-Static IP, DNS, IP v04/v06, MTU

    -Various parameters of the router

    -/ Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration deleted

    -Reset the PRAM/SMC

If I boot in safe mode, all right. Normal speed to 900 MBit/s. No problem with sleep, etc., but only in safe mode!

  • What are users with Cisco 802.11n 802.11ac WLAN APs running on Low Power?

    Experts Sars WLAN,

I'm new on a big installation WLAN here and noticed that not only the AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9 communicate on the Management Station first central and many changes of low-power 2.4 GHz antenna power level.

People here tell me that it is not harmful, but I am slightly dubious and would like your opinion here.

WLAN access points are activated with 2.4 and 5 GHz-antennas and shoot only 15.4 Watt following switch.

Interface Admin Oper Power (Watts) class of device
Of the PS to the device
    --------- ------ ---------- ---------- ---------- ------------------- -----

    Ba3/4 auto on 17.3 15.4 4 AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9

    First is revealing:

"APis running on Low Power." Please disable Radio one and reset the access point to get full power on the other radio. »

The access point is configured for 802.11n on both bands and 802.11ac on 5 GHz.

I can also see many Power Level change on the 2.4 Ghz antenna.

Here people are complaining about downtime on laptops for SAP applications.

Also a voice over WLAN installation does not work very well.

But I don't know if this has something to do with low power.

What are the consequences for WLAN users in this scenario?

Changes in the level of power can cause interruptions to users of WIFI?

Is 'Low-Power' - Situation responsible for a large amount of sending changes to feeding on 2.4 GHz?

Who knows more and has experience with low-power facilities?

Thank you for any comments on this

    Wini

    Just to add

What are the consequences for WLAN users in this scenario?

    * Anything, just change really the number of antennas is used

Changes in the level of power can cause interruptions to users of WIFI?

    * Change in power level, do not make changes to string

Is 'Low-Power' - Situation responsible for a large amount of sending changes to feeding on 2.4 GHz?

    * No.

Who knows more and has experience with low-power facilities?

You should focus on your environment and what you see. With low power due to the PoE does not affect the user experience.  If your access point changes the power too high or too low, you can introduce some poor duplication of coverage or channel.  If you are also in a building/space tenant shared, other installs nearby Wireless will affect your RF and yours will have an impact on their. Nothing we can do.  You must set customer issues before assuming what is wrong, that nothing could be wrong.  The updated client drivers is also a good thing to do to eliminate this problem.

  • Update on to the card WLAN 802.11ac wireless T540p

I have a ThinkPad T540p and model 20BFA1R5IX series R9xxxxx, purchased in Italy.
I want to update the network card with one that supports ac 802.11 wireless.
Some research on the Lenovo Web site, I found a hardware compatibility list which is updated until 2014 (the name of the file is:540_fru_bom_20140108.pdft).
This list indicates that the card "Intel Wilkins Peak 2 7260 2 * 2 + BT4.0 11ac m2 card Wake", which has the FRU 04 x 6007 must be compatible with my T540p.
I wanted to know if this is true, and if there are other 802.11ac best of Intel compatible wireless cards and the number of RUF for T540p.

Wireless devices have unique IDS, they are stored in the BIOS. "Peripheral wireless + laptop" combination are in before the laptop sertified is offered on the market. It is a very expensive process. Thus, the number of specific portable wireless devices supported is updated very rarely. New wifi devices (Intel 7265 based on) have begun to use for laptops Lenovo Broadwell line.

There is no white list. Here is the Service Manual:

    See p. 96

    Manual

You have the 17 inch model and for the 15-inch model AMD HP actually an AC card. This one:

2x2HMC AC + BT4 Broadcom BCM 4352 WLAN 802.11 for HP Pavilion 15 AMD computer models available for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 724935-005

It is an equivalent spare card sold on amazon.com:

The card would work for you, but I have to warn you that the installation is no easy thing. It requires extensive disassembly and will jeopardize the warranty. You should not try to install an Intel card as they are called does not play nice with AMD computers. The Broadcom will be your best bet.
