  Recently, I've had my machine upgraded to Windows 7, which mean't I had to reinstall the Eclipse Plugin. I get the following error when I try to launch the simulator using JRE 5.0.

  'Packaging Blackberry Simulator' has encountered a problem.

  When I click on the 'Détails' button, I get the following error message:

  It is resolved, the problem was the level of compliance of the compiler, which unknown to me can be set in two places; a global (windows-> preferences-> compiler) and the other at the level of the project (right click on the folder of your project-> build path-> configure build path-> java compiler).

  Thank you for responding, I managed to get rid of the error by changing the level of compliance of the compiler... I didn't know there are two ways to define the path to build for a project (in the projects pane when you right click on the project) and the other for a global setting in the preferences window.

  I guess it's very obvious that I am still a beginner when it comes to Eclipse... lol

  Anyone know what the Tx power levels available are on the Cisco 1572 access points? I think that the Tx power level maximum APs is the legal limit in the regulatory domain, but I'm more interested in what the levels are on the lower part of the scale. Unfortunately I do not have available to test.

• RV320 Cisco Remote management fails PCI compliance

  Cisco RV320 (port 443) remote management not meet PCI, a major provider of PCI (Trustwave) compliance.

  Fault issues:

  Other serious issues:

  1 auto-Completion enabled for password fields

  2 SSL certificates with a public key of less than 2 048 bits are more susceptible to man in the middle attacks (Yes, I can create a new certificate with > = 2048 bits, but the value default self-signed certificate must be at least 2048)

  If you have warranty still valid for your RV320 device, I suggest you address these issues directly to the Small Business Support Center (HWC) through their customer service system. Because they are related to safety concerns AND the RV320 device is not on the list of EoL in the meantime, I hope that this could be addressed and fixed in future versions of firmwares for this device.

  I'm afraid, nobody else on this forum could forward your question here on the forum that these options are not configurable (at least not officially) and must be set only at the level of the firmware. You must use the official channels to facilitate this correction.

• SSL and PCI compliance?

  I install a new 5520 with IPS for a client, and they ask on the SSL (WebVPN) being self-signed PCI compliance.  I don't know what document to find this information under the PCI DSS.  There was also mention on double authentication required, but without seeing the actual needs, I guess just to her.

  If anyone can point me in the right direction or explain the low down on what is needed to make SSL compatible PCI, I would be very grateful.

  I am not aware of a pure and simple ban against self-signed certificates, but personally would prefer those to a root of trust CA - PKI company or third party. For me, it shows a greater awareness to safety.

  PCI DSS 8.3 requirements requires two-factor authentication:

  8.3 incorporate two-factor authentication for remote access (access level network from outside the network) to the network by employees, administrators, and third parties. (For example, remote authentication and remote service (RADIUS) with tokens, access controller access control system terminal access (GANYMEDE) with chips; or other technologies that facilitate two-factor authentication.)

  Note: Two-factor authentication requires two of the three authentication methods (see 8.2 requirement for a description of the authentication methods) be used for authentication. Using a factor twice (for example, using two separate passwords) is not two-factor authentication.

  You can configure an ASA with two factors schemens (RSA SecureID and LDAP etc.).

• Reports of SLA - percentage of actual compliance

  When I look at the dashboard of Service levels, there is a nice percentage showing the value of compliance.  However, I believe that it is the current compliance, not the number of compliance for the period in question.  If you look at the example attached, it is a violation of compliance defined in the time range of the dashboard, yet compliance of 100 per cent of States of dashboard.

  

  Reports generated from this will also show the current level of compliance, not the figure for the time.  We want to provide these reports to deliver to our customers to show overall compliance during the previous calendar month.  Although the sparkline history shows the dip in accordance, no one will take any notice of it, focusing instead on the percentage of compliance.

  Is it possible to change this to be the historical figure of compliance for the selected time period?

  You are right that this view is set to show the current availability rather averages of the period.

  Specifically, point of view "Services/Explorer/SLA" defines this column as: /baselineAvailability/current/average

  To display the average period instead, you would change this column:

  / baselineAvailability/period/average

  Changes to the system out-of-the-box dashboards will not survive an upgrade, so the best practice is to copy (deep) the target view (Services/Service levels) in a new custom system module, and then change the copied display.

  'Dashboard Designer' role is required to create and modify modules of the system.

  This is because (at least in the example you provided) to two factors:

  • A 'feature' the theme 21 Pull Down Menu model list, which seems to be so designed as not to display a link to the current page. The current definition of model sublist will render an image of separator rather than the list entry/link:

  So to determine which model of list item to apply using the list input parameter current that current page is the target by default, APEX motor sees all of the entries in the form of links to the current page and presents them by using the current model sublist list item template as a separator.

• Tools for compliance

  I aim at the eventual compliance HIPAA and SOC 2.  Now, from a point of view tools I have only Nessus, an analysis tool.  Regarding the tools that I might need to invest in, what are the areas with the best tools in these areas that I need to watch, to have a shot at HIPAA + 2 SOC.

  Has anyone attempted to quantify the areas you need to buy tools or develop automated reports around in order to facilitate the process of driving towards standards compliance such as these and can help quantify what is needed as represented below?

• ESXi rules compliance - custom template - vs model

  We are implementing a corporate secure deletion policy by which our support staff will use a Windows tool that supports at least US DOD 5200, 28 - STD file deletion (all reasonably simple), but he was asked if the erasure spreads through to the underlying disk to VMware and if so, is the data stored in the disk correctly deleted also?

  If your VMDK is stored on a storage that does not "copy-on-write", then it is possible to run a wipe program DoD disk in the virtual machine to zero level the VMDK. However, this may not work if you do not fully understand the underlying storage.

  For linked clones, this will erase the link but will not erase the captain VMDK. Or this will remove any file .vswp, .vmsn, or .vmss files. These have images memory and therefore should also be properly deleted. If its not simple to delete a virtual machine to the DoD standards. Data disc are fine but the memory data is a little more difficult.

• Auto micro adjusts the input level

  Hi all

  I tried this several times and never seem to be able to find an answer that works...  When I talk in my microphone on my macbook pro, it adjusts permanently the input levels, so in mid-sentence volume varies (always at peak).  It is extremely annoying, and there seems no obvious way to a certain volume of recording.  Any help here?

  I understand that the input of your Mac's built-in microphone volume seems to be fluctuating when you save. In this case, if you use Mac OS X Yosemite or earlier, you may want to turn off noise reduction in system preferences > Sound > entry.
