complicated bit question

Hello

so I had the coordinates, for example A (4.5); B (3,2); C (1.9), D (4.3). I need to order them in ascending order after the last digital character so that they remain together. I mean: B (3,2), (4.3) D, A (4,5), C (1.9).

Any idea?

Thanks for all replies.

Thomas,

Make a cluster of three elements: [y, x, letter], where y and x are the numerical coordinates and letter is a string with the names of the points.  These clusters in a table and use table sorting.  By firstly putting y in the cluster as Thoric said, you get the kind on this component.

... and in the case of the two values of being the same, the tiebreaker is the second element of the cluster (X).

    Hi all

I know there are a lot of posts on this subject, however, I want to use a backup program to back up only the My Documents folder. I store everything in that folder that I'm working on. Programs and other things is in the correct places [programs or program etc. (86)...]

I find too complicated MS backup utility. From my reading, I understand that my best solution is to make a system image backup and perform differential backups, depending on the needs. In this way, if the player C goes down, I can replace, load the image backup and the most recent differential backup, and I should be fine.

Other information: I wish only to back up the files that have been modified in the folder My Documents, (as mentioned) because that's where I do all my work. Can anyone recommend a very good third party (preferably free) for this program? Thank you very much.

IMHO, it's tremendous overkill, unless you are a bank or a company of backup of a system of accounting or inventory.  For regular users, 2 or 3 is a lot.  My personal habit is once a month backup.

If you are about to buy an external hard drive, consider these questions:

Many of them actually Cook themselves because they have inadequate ventilation.  They can only practically be used for short periods of time.   So look for one with a big deal.

Children have the 2.5 format disks "that are normally installed in laptops.  They are much more delicate and less reliable.  I would go for a bigger 3.5 because you don't need portability, and they are more reliable and last longer.

My favorite way to do it is to buy an external hard drive enclosure - they rest well best.  For example:

    VANTEC NexStar3 (NST - 366 S 3 - SV) 3.5 "SATA III 6 Gbp/s USB 3.0 external HARD drive enclosure Silver Aluminum

Can buy you a type HD 3.5 OEM of any size you choose.  2 TB is a very reasonable price.  It has its own power supply and tends to be aired much better.

Also make sure that you get one that is capable, able size drive you buy and has a USB 3.0 cable that comes with it - they are different cables USB 2 USB 3.

Do not use an SSD for this function.

  • JRE Oracle Solaris SPARC 64-bit question

    Operating system: Solaris sparc 10u9

I recently upgraded to 1.7.0_45 java runtime environment and I have encountered a few problems.

So far, the usual approach to get a 64-bit JRE was to replace the bin files / with the 64-bit package (given that the 64-bit package depends on the 32-bit one)
But in trying to do the same thing with jre 1.7.0_45, problems began to occur.

After further research, I noticed that the java executable has the runpath has changed and so it cannot find the necessary libjli.so

(Before 1.7.0_45, the java executable contained 3 runpaths to cover all the test cases)

Any suggestions on how to deal with the situation? Just to note, changing the JAVA_HOME is not an option because it is referenced more than a hundred times, so it would be rather impossible...

    Looking forward to any suggestions.

I came to a pretty rough resolution, but it is the only work so far - symbolic links.

    The resolution is the following:

    (1) delete all files(not the sparcv9 directory) in bin /.
    (2) create symbolic links in bin / that link to the contents of bin/sparcv9 /.
    (3) be careful when extracting the jre - zip/copy different agents (such as ants, etc.) have different implementations of the respective functions. For best results, use the native tools of the OS (cp, unzip).

PS: I write mainly for users who encounter the same problem. The question is still open, because there might be a better solution.

  • Complicated simple question - ray tracing

    Hello

I'm working currently on a project - I have an optical system (some prisms, some lenses etc) and I want to do a VI to calculate the propagation of a ray of light - something like ray tracing.

I know that labview is not a perfect platform to address this issue, but I still want to try.

My problem is as follows: I want to calculate the propagation of a ray through a lens. I skate with some coordinates (y = const) and a lens plano convex - forward of a lens is a piece of a sphere. To calculate the spread (using snell's law), I find an angle between the RADIUS and the line that is tangent to this sphere lens to the point where my light beam hits the lens.

My procedure (on the piece of paper):

    1.i know the coordinates of the center of a sphere (take (0,0)) and its radius r (x ^ 2 + y ^ 2 = r ^ 2). I know that the value of y = y_0 including the ray enters the goal.

    so I can calculate the x_0: x_0 ^ y_0 2 + ^ 2 = r ^ 2. Now, I know the point where the light enters the lens (x_0, y_0)

    2. then comes the usual procedure to find the equation of a tangent line to the sphere (y = a * x + b):

    I updated y_0 and x_0 this equation:

    Y_0 = a * x_0 + b

    and I can't remove an unknown value (e.g. b): y = a *(x-y_0) + x_0

    3. then I put this assimilation into the equation of the sphere (x ^ 2 + y ^ 2 = r ^ 2) and it's the quadratic equation that have an unknown value x and only one free parameter: a.

4 beacause I want to have the tangent line, so there should be a single good with sphere - so the quadratic equation should have determinant equal to zero (the only solution for x). It gives me an equation for one. I should find the value of a that satisfies this equation and then I know this tangent line and I have the solution! UF...

Unfortunately I still have not found a solution to implement this in labview (and I'm motivated because most of the work of this project is already done). I tried with the formula of analysis and so on, but I could not.

I will be really grateful for any advice or help!

    Helmik,

LabVIEW does not symbolic math.  Once you have the equations solved on paper or reduced to a set that can be solved numerically, so you can program in LV

When I look at your math in the first post, I see that (3) you describe an equation in x and a. However, this is not an order quadratic equation, but a fourth polynomial with terms like a ^ 2 * x ^ 2-2 * a ^ 2 * x * y_0. If this is not so easily resolved.

Isn't the tangent to the sphere perpendicular to the RADIUS at that time? The angle of the beam can be calculated from x_0, y_0 and the center of the sphere. Then add 90 degrees. An arc tangent and no complicated equations.

  • 64-bit question

While he was trying to get my graphics upgrade of its readers, I've lost my 64-bit on my windows Vista. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics card to his normal self but I still currently not on my windows vista 64 bit can anyone help?

64-bit what?  You receive an error message?  The operating system to work now?

Why you try to update the graphics driver and how do you do?

You can't lose the character bit your operating system simply by installing a driver.  This would require reinstalling the operating system using the 32-bit dvd.  If you think you should have a color depth of 64 - bit on your graphics card, this is not the case.  32-bit color depth is a graphics issue and has nothing to do with your operating system.  It is not possible to perceive differences of color beyond 32-bit color depth.  It's a thing of the eye-brain.  64-bit depth is not visually useful.

  • Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64 Bit question

In the case of enlargement, I can't click setup.exe because it is not a valid win32 application. I use the student edition, but I ordered the CD, which should arrive next week. Is it possible that I can get around this or should I wait for the next CD?

I went from 32-bit XP to W7 64-bit, but to do that I had to start from the disc (created an iso using instructions on one of the other threads here) and choose "custom" installation.  You can try to do the same thing or just wait until you get the disk by mail.  You can not run the setup.exe from WinXP because the 32 - bit vs. 64-bit, and when installing Win7 you cannot select 'upgrade', you have to select "custom".

  • Photoshop CS6 extended 64-bit - question of clipping histogram

CS6 clips the histogram (black and white) when reducing a large TIFF 16-bit 7000px file we will tell 1280px wide. CS5 does not work using the same steps. Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit - I7-24 GB of RAM.

Someone had this problem? Is there a setting in CS6 to change the reduction algorithm (binning, bicubic or other) that uses CS5?

The default CS6 of automatic Bicubic factory causes Bicubic Sharper and bicubic smoother by reducing and increasing the number of pixels, respectively. Sharper tends to create halos hideous oversharpening (where the break in the histogram), but, Hey, Adobe says that is the best [rolls eyes].

Change the default to plain bicubic resampling in Preferences > general.

Note that the mode of transformation of the CS6 independent resampling in Options bar control when a raster layer is targeted. The default value which is automatic bicubic so you will probably want to set it to simple bicubic, too.

It won't hurt to run in 32-bit mode. The software must not offer a mode 64-bit as well.

Hi, if you have XP/SP3 and using IE8 and FF. I would not be updated for FF 3.6.15 yet since this can complicated additional questions.

However, the upgrade from IE6 to IE8 and install SP3 are the two major updates. One of those who could have caused the glitch in Flash Player, because it works in browsers. So it makes sense that you should have to install FP even in IE8.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Open Flash and after return the files listed here. NPSWF files must be opened with a right-click, and then click Properties to get the version numbers.

Using IE, go to tools, manage Addons and under "Show"(very light text) is Shockwave Flash Object installed, active and this is the version 10.2.152.32? "»

FF, navigate to the plugins and is the active Shockwave Flash plugin?

The Shockwave Flash object and the Shockwave Flash plugin are the controls for Flash Player.

Let us make sure that we have Flash Player and the required browser addons installed correctly before addressing other issues.

  • as additional storage mSATA SSD

    Hi all

    I have a touchsmart Envy 15-j003ed E4A07EA #ABH with a 4700mq I7, HP mainboard 1963.

The laptop came with a rather slow disk 5400 RPM. I changed this to a Kingston Hyper X 120 GB SSD sata 3. Which works very well. However, I would like to have some more space on board. Also only 4 GB of ram is installed I would spend it.  Related to it have 3 questions:

    (1) can I put a 120 GB or more in the slot msata SSD and use it as an extra hard drive? Not as a cache or almost...

    (2) or that it will be fast to do the startup disk msata ssd and use my current SSD storage?

    3) associated with the RAM, the specs give 1600 mhz speed, but the site of Kingston gives 1866 mhz as on option for the replacement, I use 1866 mhz?

Thank you very much in advance for your answer!

Yes, you can install a card from the WSSD in the slot mSATA for additional storage, but if you think that you can pick up just a larger SSD standard for less money extra. mSSDs have not yet appreciated the fall of wholesale prices we are seeing on 2.5-inch SSD. The WSSD cannot be a boot disc if you also have a standard 2.5-inch drive in the machine, which would be faster is a bit questionable. If possible, a WSSD would be a bit faster, but both are fast, it isn't a big deal.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 44 for instructions of the WSSD.

The memory just be sure you get 1.35 volts or DDR3L memory. The manual says that it runs at 1600 mhz, so if you install the variety of 1866 he will just downclock.

  • structure of unexpected behavior

An excerpt (2009) who does not behave as I hope it is attached. You can try to type an entry in the control that is not in the menu dropdown, and then click Exit. There will be no visible entry in the control, but the structure of the event is still running. Should it? I had to add code to a VI to take account of the case of the event running even if there was no entry in the control.

Firstly, the delay in the loop is not necessary with the structure of the event. The structure of the event will not use time CPU unless there is an event.

With regard to the "change of value", it is a bit questionable. Technically, there is a change in value. It's just that the value of the control is changed twice. Once to receive the letter unauthorized, and then again when the restriction of upper level says 'no-no' and he transforms back. I don't know how the event is generated, because this would be in the bowels of the generating code of the events that we have no visibility.

I had problems to find the drivers for it. I used the drivers found here: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers but I noticed that 'Operating System' told ' 8.1 64-bit Windows.

Yet, I used these drivers listed there. However, after installing the drivers, I still see yellow-exclamation on the following points:
    -PCI device
    -PCI encryption/decryption controller
    -SM Bus controller, and

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Three things come to mind immediately:

You can use a different application than AE to convert this video Copilot to something like PNG Quicktime codec.  Some of these files of flare andrew Kramer does are a bit questionable, sad to say.

You must NEVER, NEVER use multiprocessing (aka "made simultaneous multiple images") in AE because you have anywhere near enough memory to operate.  Just turn it off and leave it off.

Similarly, you must never use accelerated Open GL in AE.  Employees of Adobe not to use Open GL when they make, and you shouldn't, either.
