If looking for updates to hang on a current installation,

Be sure and go to uninstall a program and see which Microsoft Net framework you have installed.

4.5.2 is more consistent to have installed,

https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=42642

Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily

Restart the machine

You can try and install the latest client update manually let your update settings to never check for updates until you install it.

https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3138612

Then you download this from your download folder run from there.

https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/library/security/MS16-039?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Download the x 86 for 32-bit or x 64 for 64-bit

Install it and restart when prompted too after he did a search of stand-alone for updates that should not

take too long, it took all of 5 seconds, '' If '' windows update settings are turned on forever check

updates before running from the downloads folder.

Once it installs and restarts

You can reset your updates affecting everything you had before default =...

Then check the updates manually.

I think that the solution came from Softpedia and Joel_CS posted on this thread,

    Windows xp home edition

    Dell inspiron 1501

    1. computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window
2 works well in safe mode, even connect to the external monitor
    3. I reinstalled xp many times, problem stil exist.

    All the answers?

    Hi dhanushm,

    1. What happens after the Windows logo screen?
    2. You receive an error message?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?

    Method 1

As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

    Method 2

    Hello

As you get a pop up to install an update that is already installed, you can try the following steps and check.

First of all, you can hide the update as it has already been installed.

Follow these steps to do so.

    a. click Start and select Control Panel.

    b. click on Windows Update and click the updates available.

    c. right-click on the particular update and select hide update.

Now, I suggest you to get the Windows Update components that they might have been corrupted.

  • Windows XP does not level net framework 3.5 service pack 1 or service pack 2. Error code 80070673. Also, don't look for new updates - error code 80070490.

My windows xp tried to upgrade with the 3.5 framework - net framework 3.5 SP1 update family (KB951847) x 86 since 07/08/09.  History shows that he has failed every time.  He also tried to install service pack 2 (KB948465) since 07/08/09 and has failed each attempt.  When I try to check new updates, it says "windows has not can find new updates" with an error code 80070490.  When I try to upgrade with the framework 3.5 service pack 1, it says "some updates were not installed" with an error code of 80070673.  History shows that all other updates have been installed successfully.  Please let me know what I need to do to fix this problem.

You will need to fix the OS before trying to fix the rest of your problems. If the OS is unstable, then nothing else will matter. Make sure you have backups up-to-date of all your personal stuff and know where the product keys etc in case you should reinstall. That your OS is stable/fixed you can follow instructions from PA Bear re updates of the framework.

Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 to resolve this issue, use the System File Checker to check that the correct versions of the file system are present. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Startand then click run.
    2. Copy and then paste (or type) the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER:
      cmd
    3. At the command prompt, type sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.

Note If you are prompted for your Windows XP CD, insert the CD into the CD drive.

    4. Once completed the System File Checker, try installing updates again.

For more information about the System File Checker, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

310747 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747/) Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)

  • Customer does not understand the purpose of the Service Packs

I have a client and I have trouble explaining a question related to the objective of the SPs. Any comment is appreciated.

The customer has a computer that runs an application with SP2 and creates a file on this computer. Then send the file
a user to overseas using a computer with SP1. The user overseas to have problems with the file,
try with another computer SP2 and everything is OK.
I told the customer that the problem may be something in the file and it is not related to the compatibility of the SP1 - SP2. He
insists that SP2 must be compatible with SP1. I tried to explain, Ms is not a new version, it corrects bugs etc...
and we never talk about compatibility between SPs. SPs are not meant to create problems, it's to solve problems.
I won't give the name of the application because it can see the post. He has now decided to roll all the computers
back to SP1 I don't aggree with him.

    What do you think?

    Thank you.

I think that the customer is a fool, and you need to stop doing business with him if he does not understand or accept what you say. Make sure he knows its computers run a serious security risk, and operational risk, and some programs may not work without the latest service packs, and it will be very expensive to repair.

  • Computer does not work after successful Windows Update.

I guess this problem can adapt to category two so I posted in the places that I thought it was appropriate.

So I use Windows XP Home Edition. I decided to be protected from viruses so I turn on the firewall and automatic updates from Microsoft. (It worked fine without automatic updates, but I just wanted to be sure). After the update was finished, I move to shut down the computer. Until the computer off, he asked me to "Turn off the computer with updates" or "Turn off the computer without up-to-date." I thought that the "update" one was the safe route so I clicked that. He will deliver to say update 1-61 do not shut down the computer, so I didn't. After that all 61 updates automatically disable the P.C.

So now when I try to turn on computer of Paolo just turns off automatically after starting the screen. I didn't touch the PC since the automatic update from Microsoft. I tried to insert the family Windows XP Edition disc and the disc starts praying I can clean the system and restart costs. But to halfway through the computer returned to its ways to auto restart. Now I'm lost. I can not use the box nor can I boot from the disc to erase everything.

I did nothing for the PC next to the "Microsoft automatic update via the control panel." I feel like I'm being deceived, because it was initially after the update I had problems.

    * I can't start in safe mode or any other mode also if you're wondering because the PC will automatically just restarts.*

I guess I can record what happens if you really need a better explanation.
