Computer fraud warnings

Today I got a message from what they said, it was Microsoft, and they said that if I didn't call their number they would shut down my computer. So I called and they claim to be from Microsoft, but at the end after I paid 105.00, they said they were by Virus eraser. I have all the numbers, they said I had 5500 virus and they interrupted the security analysis of Microsoft. one of the numbers was 1-844-213-4342, 1-866-838-7478. He said I had network and virus problems and I told her that I was already looking for a used computer, he said my ip was supposed to be different, but it's not. can someone help me to report that they have popped up on my computer 4 times in 10 days. I gave them control can they come back in?

What is Windows doing about this?

    Hello

    It's a scam.

Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

There is an article in the link I'm you provide at the end of this one

    Read this Information from Microsoft:

"Avoid scams to phone for tech support.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx

Don't be fooled of unsolicited calls. Don't provide personal information.

Here are some of the organizations that cyber criminals claim to come:

    • Helpdesk Windows

    • Windows repair center

    • Microsoft technical support

    • Microsoft technical support

    • Windows Support Group Technical Department

    • Microsoft Research and Development Team (team of Microsoft R & D)

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

    See you soon.

  • Restart the computer without displaying warnings

Recently, my computer suddenly reboots without displaying any warnings (sometimes) and I had lost my unsaved data. What should I do?

This type of shutdown usually indicates one of the following conditions:

    (1) system crash (in the old days it would come with a blue screen message but the modern configuration is to restart without showing a 'scary' screen like that)

    (2) a hardware failure (loss of power system, there was a short circuit or some other fault)

To try to know that if it's a software crashing issue, you can open the report of reliability on the computer.  Press the Windows Logo and W to display the settings panel, type 'reliability' and open history of reliability.  It will show you the recent history of events. If you see a report of incidents at the moment when the reboot happened, which can help identify the cause.  If it was because of a recent driver installation software or other software, you can run the system restore and restore before the problem started.

If it's a hardware failure, you'll want to contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

  • Computer runs slowly and fraud calls

Original title: computer running slow. Clean.

    Hello

My problem now is my slow computer at startup upward and the frezzing up from time to time. I received a call in June a company in India that my computer had some questions and what not and they had a package for $199.99 a year to keep it clean and smooth running. Well, my contract is over and now I get another call from another simuilar to the last company telling me that the reason why my computer is slow and frezzing up is because there are hackers hacking in and using my manufacturing system can work slowly and for package $149.99 a year they can clean up all this and get the pirates on and my system running smooth new.

Sounds like the song and dance, except that I don't want to dance with them this time.

Can you help me sort this issue and if I have to buy some kind of package, I want to keep him here in the United States instead of going abroad. I'm not that catchy with computers and don't get internal not with them. I'm 62 and good enough old school when it comes to such things. They also said my McAfee Security was not working, but I receive regular advice on the updates he says is is me.

Can you help me or direct me to someone or place where I can get help. I live in Houston, Texas.

    Thank you very much.

    Oscar G. Dominguez Jr

    Hey Oscar,.

These are the calls of fraud which you. Microsoft does not make that neither have they partners that do and don't they hire contractors or individuals or even to find volunteers to do. There are probably thousands of these companies out there do every day - we get two or three posts like this (or more) each day ask about it.

Check out these links from Microsoft regarding the calls of fraud:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/securitytipstalk/archive/2010/03/09/Don-t-fall-for-phony-phone-tech-support.aspx

    http://blogs.Windows.com/Windows/b/WindowsSecurity/archive/2011/06/16/dealing-with-fake-tech-support-amp-phone-scams.aspx

Never encourage such calls and never buy these items/packages they offer. Do not provide all the details and give access to anyone claiming to be Microsoft or Microsoft Partners.  Microsoft calls only to the customer who have contacted by telephone, e-mail and chat and have a number of Microsoft Service request or Service for a reported problem.

For problems with the computer freezing and slow, we have some items from Microsoft that you can follow.

    Hello

It's a scam. If you allow them to connect to your computer, then all of your private information belongs to them.

Avoid scams that use the name of Microsoft in a fraudulent manner:

  • anyone receive calls from computer warnings Windows Rep.about?

said he went to Microsoft Windows on my computer made me do a start and assumed he was of Winow. Said I had a lot of problems and had to go through and the next thing there is a page, and it was all the mistakes, said there could be charges and came with 559 dollars. I refused and close the info. Says he will call again to conform to i chage my mind... it's my first time here.

This is the second time iI received this call. People I spoke were East Indian, says it is Microsoft Windos > that's familiar to anyone else?

It is a fairly common scam.  From what I've seen, he seems to be more prevalent in the United Kingdom.

The right answer is to hang up if someone says that he or she "is to Microsoft."  Microsoft is never the unsolicited calls to Windows users.

In no case allow any such appellant to have access to your computer and don't provide any personal information, including credit card information.

You can also get a phone number on which you can recall and then report the incident to your local police.

You use a license key in Volme - and this key usage has been limited to one region, probably because the owner of the key or MS has noticed that the key was abused, but the owner has too many devices in this area to be able to easily change the key or the operating system on all, so they opted for the more expensive option.

If you are a member of this organization, contact your system administrator - if not, then your installation is a counterfeit.

It seems that your machine came with a version of Windows installed - for which version and edition of Windows is allowed, according to the COA sticker on the case?
