The next time the message appears, check on what is really tell you.  He said c:\ becoming low space or D:\?

It is likely that the message is to D:\ - in this case something is store items on D:\ when it is recommended to use C:\

I had a problem with my computer for a while now. When I played video games or something like that, my computer would freeze occasionally and I hold down the power button just to turn off and on again. Last month, my computer showed that I don't have a disk space on my C drive. He dragged about 150 MB to 250 MB or more. I started uninstalling programs and games. He said that I have no disk space. I uninstalled literally all the games except one and there wasn't any change. Earlier, I uninstalled a program which was about 180 MB. Under properties on my drive C he said I won approximately 180 MB. But when I closed and open upward in then up to 150 MB when it was in the range 500 previously. I do drive cleaning all the time and trouble they free up more of a MB. How can I solve this problem? My computer becomes more and more useless every day.

If running Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK) followed by a restart does not work, please (a) explain why you think you have a lot of free space (for example, you watched the disc properties using a right click on the drive icon in my computer) and (b) download and run free JDiskReport (you can uninstall after running) to determine which files take up space.

BTW, "scandisk" referenced by Saurabh Joshi and 'check disk' referenced by database Ben is actually the two chkdsk.exe.  If run this help or not is debatable, but if you want to check the status of your drive, do:

    Start > run > chkdsk /f > OK

Looks like you have already told him to treat the CD like a USB instead of a CD (sometimes works like that) or you used a media - RW and the need to close the session.  This look familiar?

  • Is it normal that Firefox consumes hard disk space open?

Last week, I noticed the following 'strange' behavior of Firefox on my iMac (under Snow Leopard 10.6.8): while I have the browser open (usually on Facebook) my hard drive space appears to reduce (for example, 265,14 GB 265,01 GB). When I close Firefox and restart my computer, the amount of hard disk space increases again. He don't know if that happened in the past or if it's something normal. I have not installed extensions or themes, my plugins are all updated and I do not have a lot of navigation (the FB open Startpage and cat enough). Firefox doesn't seem to have performance problems, but I just want to know if there is a problem and if I could solve it somehow.

Firefox uses more a GB of space on my hard drive regularly (sometimes 2GB). This seems excessive - especially since I put the cache size to 500 MB.

  • Error message saying no disk space on recovery drive E

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron which is only a few months old and I use Vista Home Premium. I constantly receive an error message indicating that the recovery E: disk space is full. I went to the computer to check the available disk space and the bar is completely RED for drive E: of recovery. I have a lot of available memory on drive C: I tried to Defrag disk and disk cleanup. Disk Cleanup says 0 bytes will be released by empty my trash. That's because my basket is empty! I deleted all temporary internet files. I did a virus scan. I tried to save recovery E: files to an external site, but could not do this. I tried to delete the files and received a warning message if I did not complete this task. I copied the files to a folder of Documents, but that solves nothing. I called Dell Support and they said something on the partition. I tried to create my backup disks, but this error seems to be the way because he won't let me do this or the other. I cleaned my images and deleted all of the videos. I did everything that I know to free up space. I don't want to disable the error message, as some have suggested. I tried previously posted questions and answers on the forum, but I am unable to find my EXACT problem. If it is there, then I don't understand computer Lingo. My laptop is only a few months old, so I haven't added a large number of files. Why is that happening and how can I solve the problem? Please help!

Dell computers are shipped with a recovery partition you can use to restore the computer to the way it was when it was new (usually by pressing F12 when the computer starts).   The problem is not that the recovery partition is almost full.  The problem is that Windows Vista should not access that partition at all and shouldn't the user.

To delete the partition of Windows Vista and avoid the error message, remove the drive letter:

    1. click on the Start button.
2 type diskmgmt.msc in the Search box and press enter .
    3. click continue at the user account control prompt.
    4. when the disk management window, right-click the E: partition, click change drive letter and paths... and click Remove .
    5. click on Yes .

  • Windows Vista PC keeps filling the disk space

Windows Vista PC keeps filling the disk space, but programs like Treesize and Windows Explorer are not all of the additional files.

The disc has about 45 GB of files, but the 220 GB drive is almost full. I suspect that a program will create orphaned files. CHKDSK is currently suspended from the second pass. Will try to run until the end of the day to the next.

I turned on the hidden files and protected, it is not that I can't see the files. What can account for 150 + GB of invisible disk space?  Indexing of Windows seems to be active, although the C drive was marked to not be indexed.

I know that a temporary internet file (content.ie5) is doubly hidden. Who had only 50 MB in it, so it's not the culprit. Any other hidden super-fichiers that everyone knows.

Running Trend Micro PC-Cillin. The history of this creation of orphaned files?

All the tools that look right at the MFT to see what is using the disk space and the avoidance of the directory tree?

This isn't a matter of a few directories being wholesale, or clean old files. The space used is not anywhere to be found.

Already run cleaning ccleaner and disk. Empty temporary files, Recycle Bin, etc. Only restore point. Registry clean with ccleaner.

Never did anything on computer that could use 150 GB of space.

If you look at just the computer, you can see disappearing disk space (maybe 1 GB an hour).

Always seems to happen if you disconnect from the internet.

Friend PC, so I did not have immediate access to it.

Whence the free number 'space '? I'm just that an orphan file will not be displayed in a search in directories or with Treesize, but will use up to 'free space '?

    No sign of a virus.

    Hello

Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

I suggest to refer to the article and try to defragment the hard disk:

Improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive

I understand that you have already scanned the hard drive with anti-virus software, although I suggest you try to run an online scan and check if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Let us know if it helps.

  • Cleaning of disk space on the computer

WOW Thanks to all the kind people who responded to my problem with free space on my C: drive. OK, the info on my pc space used 74.0 GB... 444 MB free... 74.5 ability of. If I run Disk Clean Up it will release 832 KB. Now that my daughter left for College, I deleted itunes off this pc. I'm almost convinced that there are several large music or video files hidden somewhere on the C: drive, and if I knew all the places to look so obviously this issue would go. Thank you in advance for taking a moment to help out me.

    Please help me with this.

    Hello

ITunes is on the computer there is a good possibility you are right about the
video files and music. Launch Windows Media Player which will show you what is available
through it however it probably will show not everyone.

It will show you how disk space is being used.

  • my computer repeat myself that I am running out of disk space...

my computer repeat myself that I am running out of disk space on local disk (c :)) I tried defragmenting it and even tried to delete some of my programs.) I don't know what else to do! can someone please help? Thanks it will be greatly appreciated!

Get a larger drive - car price reached remarkably.

Defrag won't give you any more space - and in fact, you can not defrag if there is less than 15% free space.

You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space.

  • Computer message is very low on disk space

My pc says that I have a low disk space. I'm running on Windows X P. I have add remove programs and removed everything I can. However, after these actions, I went to my computer and click with the right button on properties, and yet no space has been released. I removed several large programs. What I did wrong or what did not? Someone please help me with this.

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

Please provide the capacity of your hard drive (C :) and the amount of free space on it.

    I suggest you do this:

    1. move the files of personal data such as videos, music, photos, etc. on another disk - for example, a flash USB, external hard drive, DVD drive. (copy the files then check that they are in the new location and work then remove the ones on the original hard disk).

    2. run Disk CleanUp *.

3 * to defragment your hard drive.

    * Please see: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx for the method.

Do not be tempted to use the 3rd party or optimizers of PC registry cleaners - they often do more harm than good.

  • My XP computer keeps saying that I have a low disk space when I know that I have not

and my AVG said there is no threat or virus. Ive cleaned all the unused files, but still no luck. What can I do?

What is the processor and RAM how much your computer have? Make a right-click on the icon my computer on your desktop and select properties for this information.

Try Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Under Commit Charge, which is the Total, limit, and the pic?

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.
