Computer turns on automatically when I shutdown - Windows 8

This has only recently begun to happen repeatedly as before going to happen from time to time. I go through all the motions of properly turned off my computer. He stops to the bottom of the screen turns off turn silent and 5secs after it shuts it boots back up again. I'm getting sick and tired of what happens every time. As I said I have really never had any problems with this before going to happen from time to time but now it's EVERY time.

There is no error message. As I said stop correctly, then 5 seconds like clockwork, it starts at the top. I tried to look through the forums for an answer but aren't more of my question and wading in the thread and the unhappy customers nets is rather tedious. As indicated in the title, my OS is Windows 8. Will you please help or correction would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time.

A usual suspect is the wifi (or Ethernet) card with "allow this device to wake the computer".  You can check your clicking on open network and sharing Center > change adapter settings > click with the right button on the adapter > properties > networking > configure > power management.  Uncheck the box as shown.

This is great... .buth how and when the computer turns off?  When I reopen it wifi comes back, I'm correct when she stops she also turns off wifi?

    Hello allan299,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

According to your post, I see that you have any questions on how and when your computer shuts down, and how the WiFi on your Mac is affected. I know it's nice to be able to properly manage what happens when your computer stops and starts in mode 'sleep'. I'm happy to help you find the best resolution.

You're right, when your computer stops completely it will turn the Wi - Fi. If you enable the wake for network access, Wi - Fi remains lit, and you can access shared resources on your computer, such as printers or iTunes shared playlists even when your computer is in "sleep". Definition of a calendar closing and start on your Mac can also be useful.

Check out the following resources that will help the set options that control the energy use of your computer, sleep, and wake-up times for your Mac and the calendar from your Mac to turn on or turn off or go to sleep:

OS X Yosemite: energy saver Preferences

OS X Yosemite: set sleep and wake up on time for your Mac

OS X Yosemite: A schedule for your Mac to turn on or turn off or go to sleep

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: how to set up printer to turn on automatically when you receive an incoming fax on a dedicated line

I want to configure my printer to turn on automatically when receiving incoming fax. Do I have to leave power or can I change the setting to turn on automatically with each incoming call. He is a dedicated fax line that is not connected to my computer. Also there is a sleep mode, the power led remains on when you use the sleep mode?

    Hi @mcqwats,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you want for your printer HP switch automatically when an incoming fax arrives. You have not the possibility to activate the automatic answer - on, but the printer must be turned on so that this function executes.

There is however no way to set the preferences to activate the printer when it is off.

I hope that answers your questions.

    Thank you

  • Hi why my iphone wifi turn off automatically when I lock my device? And how can I solve this problem

    Hello

Why my wifi from the iphone 6 turn off automatically when I lock my device? And how can I solve this problem?

Yes, it's designed for it. If, however, you plug, WiFi will not drop when the screen is locked.

  • My computer turns off during an update to windows xp and now windows xp will not load.

My computer turns off during an update to windows xp and now windows xp will not load.  It gives me the option of last known good configuration and safe mode startup and normal startup, but it just goes back to the loading screen then flashes a blue error screen then back to display boot options.  I don't have a recovery disc as the laptop does not have a CD-ROM drive or a floppy drive.  I have the product key, but I don't know where or how repair the operating system.

Contact the manufacturer of your laptop as there must be a way to restore the computer. There may be a hidden restore partition.

  • Computer turns off automatically

    Hello

my Windows Vista laptop turns off automatically. This isn't a standby automatic regular, Hibernate or shutdown. The computer will just empty. When you try to turn it back on, the message that "the computer was not properly extinguished" sometimes appears.

This auto disable happens irregularly. Sometimes it seems to happen more often when the computer made the task more or heavier. But the computer seems to be overheating.

Someone has an idea what could be the problem and I can try to do about it?

    GRT, M

Suggestions only. I may be far away...

    1. If this problem started not more than 10-15 days ago, and if you remember a time when you did not have this problem, please do a system restore. Choose a 'good' day as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Note: In most cases, do it in safe mode system restore is more preferable.
Here's how to get safe mode:

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.
    2. If it is not an option, going to Safe Mode > selectlast known good Configuration and run it.

  • Is it possible to have iMessage turned off automatically when the phone detects that it is not connected to wifi?

My daughter continues to send iMessages when she's out and about (IE. When it is not connected to wifi) and iMessages are sent using its data allocation, and it continues to go over its data allocation. Is it possible to get the phone to turn off the iMessages automatically when it detects that it is not connected to wifi, so that messages are then sent via sms texts, and then it reconnects to iMessage when reconnected to the Wifi? (I know it can be done manually in the settings, but she keeps forgetting to do so).

    Not automatically.

  • Computer turns on automatically everytime I turn on my power strip

    Original title: autostart

When I turn on my power strip, my PC (HP Pavilion a450n) now also turns on automatically.  Since I use the band for other things, I press the button on the central unit when I want to use it.  I did it for years.  Any ideas how and why he changed?

You can double check your bios settings and ensure that all of the settings related to 'wake up' or 'awakening' is disabled.

Another option is to use a power controller.  It's like a surge protector, but each card has a power button to turn on or off the individual components.

I have six of them in all directions, and they are an investment 'good '.

    Hello

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) how many times it will happen?

I want to clarify if your computer just stops or restarts it automatically.

Method 1: The computer in the boot and a test to see if the problem persists

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

Method 2: check the logs in Event Viewer for more information on the unexpected shutdown, see the links below

    Open event viewer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

  • Operations are underway. Please wait, the machine turns off automatically when the operations are completed. The machine does not turn off.

    Windows VISTA.  All updates applied.

When the computer is restarted after some microsoft / windows updates, the step 1 and 2 are completed.  After the second stage, the above message appears.  I waited up to 12 hours, the remains of msg.  After putting off manually, turn on the machine and then restarted with the start/stop button, sometimes it restarts in safe mode (as is expected of manual stop), but not always.  Sometimes, it brings up the ordinary sign on the screen.  This has happened only after windows updates.

    Hi Neal1209,

The "powersuite" should have an option to restore certain registry errors that it finds. Is it possible that you can restore them? It may be possible that in this case it is actually deleting files that are required for Windows and believes are redundant or contains errors.

  • WIRELESS MOUSE NOT WORKING - MSG I GET: Windows Update configured to never install drivers. The driver updates are not installed automatically when detected by Windows updates.

My laptop does not recognize my wireless mouse more and this is the msg I get when I solve the problem.  I uninstalled Windows 6.1 and installed an update of Windows which was supposed to solve this exact problem, including the problem that started the same thing of my laptop does not start correctly.  It takes a long time to come - fans and all start, but take apx 4-5 min of kick.  Every once and a while I get all workers through troubleshooting or by doing a restore - then as soon as you close it down he 'forgets' that you did and the problem is there once again. • A computer turns off automatically after a disk check?

I recently received messages to a disk check on my computer where I have to press any key to stop so I was request made a check disk automatically shut down the computer after that it's over? And also everything happens automatically I want to leave my computer at night so that it ends because, I heard that they take a long time to finish, because it has all the steps 4 and 5.

It will not use a system reboot, unless you set the box to solve problems & it's the hard drive of the system.

If you set this box then it will ask if you want to check hard disk errors the next time you start your computer.

If you click schedule disk check, and then he'll do his analysis before the competition start in Windows, the next time you restart the PC.
