Computer Vista freezes / crashes when waking from sleep/hibernate. I installed the latest drivers. Any thoughts?

I also checked the event viewer, and it has a critical error.  Kernel-power of the source.  Event ID 41.  General description: "the last sleep transition was unsuccessful.  "This error can be caused if the system unresponsive, failed, or power during the transition from sleep loss."  Does anyone have an idea as to what this may highlight or where to look next for more information?

My old days Toshiba Satellite U300 is sometimes (but not always) crashing on being awakened from his sleep.

I'm updating Vista drivers & as far as I know.

I'm getting conflicting opinions on whether this is a hardware fault laptop or any simply "sleep Vista does not work properly, then don't use it yet.
If anyone has had this experience or have any patches?

    Hello

I tested it with the Satellite U300-112 and there is no problem at all. I have to say that my little U300-112 is clean preinstalled with recovery image.

To be honest, I think that it comes to Vista because all the power settings are controlled by Vista. Have you noticed the same thing after the hibernation mode?

    Could be my problem?

    Hi, Goldenbill.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I understand that your computer stops responding when waking from sleep.  Be sure to quit all open applications that are not in use before placing your iMac in mode 'sleep'.  The article below describes how to leave applications for Yosemite, but the measures also apply to the 10.6.8.

    OS X Yosemite: Quit apps

The next step would be to go through the following troubleshooting information.

If your Mac does not wake up when you plan

Your Mac can to pause a few seconds before he wakes up. If she does not wake up at all, check these possibilities:

    • The brightness of your screen may be refused.
    • If you use an external monitor, your screen can be disabled.
    • Your Mac may be safe sleep. For to wake up the safe sleep, press the power button.
    • Find a light sleep, if any, and make sure that your Mac is not turned off.

If the previous steps do not work

These additional steps can help identify or resolve the problem:

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and screen. If that solves the problem, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time until you find the device that interferes with sleep. And then check the documentation that came with the device or contact the manufacturer of the device.
    • Start in Safe Mode to see if the problem is related to startup items not Apple, login items or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the problem by using a different user account.

  • Repeated restarts when waking from sleep

I have a MacBook Pro OS 10.10.5. The computer was started by browsing sometimes restart several cycles when waking from sleep. When this happens, I don't me the login screen. I held down the power button to turn off the computer, and then restart. About 6 weeks, the original internal hard drive has failed and was replaced by a SSD drive. But the problem didn't start until a few days ago. There were no other change in hardware or software. The computer is connected to an external monitor and external power is all the time, except when I travel or deliberately to drain the battery for maintenance. I checked the various discussions, but could not find any solution accepted to this problem.

About half of the time when I wake up my HP envy X 2 version sleep 128 GB touchscreen is unresponsive. The mouse pad and the keyboard usually work but screen tousch work again until it is restarted.

I took a peek in the Device Manager, while the touch screen did not work and I don't see under User Interface devices, I have a HID I2C device that has a yellow warning sign. When I open it under device status, it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

Someone at - it information on how to solve this problem?

I had already tried to upgrade the Synaptics drivers and it does not solve the problem.

I noticed several times that when I wake the PC from sleep that Google Talk would be stuck with about 40% of the use of processer according to the Task Manager. I usually just close and re - open Google talk and he would not stuck using the processor.

A couple of days ago I closed Google Talk and did not restart the program, during the last 2 days I didn't only once when the touch screen has been non-responsive after waking up from his sleep.

I've said before, but I had a similar problem with the rotation sensor, after waking up from his sleep, he would be intermittenetly does not work and I could also see in Device Manager that another I2C HID device was a code 43 error. Also since the closing of google talk, I didn't freeze the rotation sensor.

Like I said its only been a couple of days, so it can always happen, but 2 days is the longest I can remember never go without this problem.

  • Safari crashes after waking from sleep mode mac mini

And to make things more awkward, it seems to freeze with youtube and google. He has not done this since the beginning. Lately, he's starting to do this. It is so boring. All other sites work except these two, or at least those's ones I learned to freeze. Open a new Help window sometimes. But earlier, I had to start the mac everything again to access youtube. So what to do? After the mode 'sleep', I can't seem to google, but I can get to atavist for example. YouTube is the only place that I can't replace and for real - it's so idiots clitch he needs an explanation.

  • Monitor shows erratic colors when waking from sleep

Brand new Mac Mini, two monitors Dell, OS 10.11.3. The monitor which is connected to the Mini with a bolt of lightning > HDMI cable, when he wakes up from his sleep, sank about half the time the monitor changed to a purple that covers the entire screen. I see the desktop but everything is purple in color. If I disconnect the monitor for 10-15 seconds and turn it back on, the color scheme is usually back to normal. Can't get on the other monitor connected with a HDMI > HDMI cable.

Only, I raised the issue here because my previous Mac Mini had video problems - both monitors would turn off randomly to black screens asking the full restart. Assumed a Mini hardware problem so I bought a new Mini and now I am having a problem of monitor again on the new Mini. (I remember reading a couple of years on the problems of video/monitor on Mac mini).

Question: before concluding it is a hardware of the monitor problem, are there any known issues with a bolt of lightning > HDMI connection? I have not purchased and tried a new cable, but would that be a problem?

    A graphics display card problem?

Thanks for the tips and suggestions.

    Uninstall this software:

    Sophos AV

    GitHub and OSXFuse

    Carabiner

    CREDANT shield/Crypto

    SektionEins driver and SUIDGrardNG

One or more are at the origin of the crash. Start by removing Sophos. Since the graphics family is one of the problems, don't forget to remove anything you have installed which would be new for your use of the GPU.

Be sure to use any uninstaller provided with the software. Something that comes with an uninstaller uninstall not manually.

  • Sony Vaio laptop BSOD when waking from sleep. 8.1 64bits

    Hello

My Sony vaio is strange. Whenever I put it to sleep and it wakes the BSOD while it recharges to the 'not found operating system". Now the power button down for 30 seconds and then it turning it back makes me back in the operating system without any problem.

I've updated the BIOS and run that all pilots availible to do this and the model.

I also reset the BIOS to the factory settings.

I have also reinstalled the operating system.

    VPCSA290X

Everything works well except the mode 'sleep'.

Nobody has any ideas? OK, Im going to the customer and to recommend that he not spend a dime on Sony laptops in the future. His name is Dayne Sampson.

  • Windows does not wake up from sleep/hibernate implementation using the mouse button, doesn't work by using the Start button

Windows used to wake from sleep with the return key or the mouse, now needs to press the Start button on the desktop every time.  I have not changed anything.

    that's happened?   can anyone help?

Please click the Start button, type security in the search field and then click on "check the status of security" in the list.

What do you see? make a screenshot of it + post here.

For example, I have Microsoft Security Essentials and I see:

What do you see when you click on "View installed antispyware programs? Make a screenshot + post.

    For example, I see:

How to include a screenshot, see: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-windows_programs/how-to-include-a-screenshot-in-your-post/2594b08e-32a3-476a-85a6-b021181be7e4

What is the exact name of your Bullguard product?

Please try to be as specific as possible in your answers, right? :-)

  • Impossible to install the latest drivers for DVB - T USB TV Vista

    Hi all

Reading the forums I noticed that this is not an uncommon problem on XP and vista now.

The problem is that after installation, with the deleted stick and after restarting when plugged the device in Vista does not find the drivers. I manually extract the zipped file exe - zip so that the inf files are available in the drivers / x 32 or x 64 directories and selected each directory manually to nothing does not. I also tried the other usual culprits, ~ / system, ~/system32 etc.

After doing all that I can think that I ask this question - how can I get?

This device is known to work on another XP machine (even if I'm not sitting within 5 miles of the transmitter to be actually able to get a signal)

    Rgds
    Edward

    Hello
Where did you get the drivers if I ask? Maybe he has the wrong drivers...

    Welcome them

  • When waking from sleep, the date changes to 2029

Sometimes when my computer wakes up from being asleep, the date changes until 2029.  The month and day are the same, but the changes of the year.  I then have to set manually the date, the automatically sync with windows server doesn't fix it.  Its really annoying because then my anti-virus thinks its out of date as well as the update of windows.  My internet browser also has security due to date problems.  I can not understand what causes the date change 2029!

    Hello Nevik09,

A possibility is that the CMOS battery is out. Did you replace the battery to determine if it could be a cause?

Also, take a look at this thread on Technet for another possible solution. http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/9d180368-35ee-4334-9cce-cd2b2c7f1f2a

    Hope this helps

  • iMac is suspended when waking from sleep

When I return to my iMac 21 inches for the wakes, I get my password from the screen and it does nothing but display the spinning beachball. It remains this way for an indefinite period. The only way out, as far as I know, is to do a power of the force down (hold the power button for 10 seconds) and the power it upward. Otherwise, everything works fine. Any suggestions on what to check?

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • Windows 7 is no longer asking for a password when waking from sleep

Windows 7 has been asking password whenever the computer has been coming out of sleep, but he ceased to do this now. I checked and I still have this option turned on. I tried to change the password and not restarted still no change. Can any ideas on how I fix?

Windows seems to be struggling to control this setting sometimes so you must check in three places to make sure it was taken correctly.

1 set the screen saver - Panel, customize, Screensaver [in the lower right corner of the window]. You can change the time and whether or not sign it again after it also activates.

You should then check the opening of session of this parameter in both part

2 power options, [on the left side of the window] require a password on wake up

3 power options, plan {power} active settings change, change of plan avancΘs, [you will have to click on "view the currently hidden settings] {active power plan}, require a password on wake up

Steps 2 & 3 are simply verify that the change has been defined & saved - there should be no problem under normal circumstances.

  • No sound on Asus Xonar DS (card high school) after waking from sleep/hibernate. Restarting doesn't help not.

    Hello.

First timer on the forums of Microsoft here. I am running Windows 64-bit Preview version (test the waters a bit before buying an upgrade) - and I currently have a problem with my sound card, Asus Xonar DS which is not channeled sound to, apparently, or is blocked by something, after that the computer woke up from his sleep for the first time. For the record, I have Xonar DS version of the driver installed (Windows 8) and it worked perfectly to 192 000 Hz. Default 44100 worked well, too. First map of sound, integrated into the motherboard, works very well and is channeled according to that sound. That is, there is a very good reason, I opt for the Xonar DS - sound quality - and for this reason I am not using Windows 8, if the problem persists.

Has anyone had a similar problem with Windows 8? Previous versions of Windows? Any ideas what could help? Thank you.

This can be marked as resolved, at least for me. Seems that the version of Windows 8 of the pilot comes * with * install custom that were not present in my Windows 7 - software the DS Xonar Audio Center. 'Analog Out' is the section that needs attention - just try it and the switching noise is expected to return after a try or two.

Sleep should not be affected, but at least I am happy that a solution must be found not far away.
