computer won't play a game disc

I had many problems with my computer recently resolved. However, I have fun playing a game called "Rome total war" and played several times on this laptop. I tried to load this game, but a message keeps appearing telling me that access is denied and try again as an administrator. I double checked and verified that I'm ranked as one (is not surprising because it's my pc) but it still will not let me play. I've removed the game from the computer and then recharged it but to no avail. I have loaded other game discs that run and play correctly. Someone at - it suggestions please?  Steve Wheater

Probably due to the update of Windows - KB3086255 security... This update blocks the various drivers of DRM (copy protection).

Uninstall - KB3086255 - and bring mental health :)

(Open programs and features, then click on - installed updates.) R/click on kb3086255 and select uninstall)

There is more information on how to stop this update being re-installed - here-

Monopoly$ oft has suddenly decided to bork a whole bunch of older games because they believe DRM drivers will be,.

or are used by malware pushers.

Seems rather dubious, as the pilots they block have been around and on millions of machines,

for at least ten years without virus/malware issue.

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    After the foregoing:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

  • Down computer when I play older games

Driver ATI Radeon HD 5800 is blocked (I tried updates research said its date too) when I play older games like assassin creed, star wars jedi knight jedi academy. Just got this computer last month. I tried the Troubleshooting compatibility so many different times and always the older games I play the crash. pls help

The best thing I can say that each of you is to wait for the best drivers for your video card, because your problems are the result of video card drivers.  The latest drivers I tried to fixed ATI actually a graphic error I had with one of my games on Windows 7.  I always use Vista ultimate 64 as my main OS because I lose some features I love when you go to Win 7.  But other that some problems of video card drivers, I've not really had no problems with Windows 7. I have a simple philosophy: just assume everyone is a piece of c.r.a.p. and then be pleasantly surprised if you find someone who is not.

  • Computer freezing after installing the game disc

My son's new game disc [I guess that the conditions were not enough on our computer to it] was freezing so we tried to uninstalled but it is now the computer continually freeze after short periods of time. Every time restart us the disk check rises but stops at stage 3 and is not able to finish.  Perhaps we did not uninstall completely is?

Error C0000185 is "STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR' -"the I/O device reported an i/o error."it seems that the hardware is defective.  Disk Diagnostics should be available on the website of the manufacturer of the disk.

  • Computer hangs when playing any game

My computer has recently been strange, I made sure there is no virus, but for some reason, the only remaining problem my computer is facing now is that any game I play, one of them freezes after 10 minutes - 3 hours. I don't know what is the cause for this, I checked the core temperature of the computer and remove any files that may affect the games somehow. But still no change, before that, the computer had himself locked in Windows 7 Basic and would not change back to the normal Windows 7 but a couple of days after the removal of one program which is returned to normal.

Anyone know if there is some specific file or program should I look at to solve this problem?
Here is a list of things I did to try to solve this problem
    -Uninstall programs
    -Remove programs
    -Re-install programs
    -Virus Scan
    -Defragment disk
    -Disk Cleanup
    -Check the temperature in heart
-Minimize the process running in the Task Manager
-observe the activity on the Task Manager

In Windows 7, use Ctrl + Shift + Esc instead of Ctrl + Alt + Delete. It lets you in the Manager of tasks more quickly. Select Task Manager, performance, resource monitor tab and tab memory. What are the numbers for reserved equipment, in use, modification, sleep and free?

Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? The amount of RAM is installed?

  • my computer won't let me play a witch game installed, why?

I installed a game called need for speed Shift, succesifully, has played this game a long time... but now comes a problem: the game starts but after a bit, comes out although it stops... a message on my screen telling me that windows has a problem that can not continue this program. Can you help me in telling me what to do?

To it worked and now it is not the case, it could be either a recent update of the driver or a hardware problem. Make sure your PC is clean of dust and that the fans are running inside. If you can start and play for a few and then it crashes, it looks more like a hardware problem. If after you clean, always experience you problems, try to update your video card drivers and do a Windows Update (don't update the video drivers from Windows Update, but the manufacturers - AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, etc - Windows Update site is sadly famous for the use of drivers that are two years old and broken).

  • Computer dies every time I play a game.

My computer turns off whenever I try to play a game on the disc.

Definitely sounds like it could be a heat problem, I go to the games on discs, mean real good games as opposed to games by browser (which probably only show the behavior).  Not much can be done software wise on the subject however.

If you are overclocking all components, put back them in their stock values.  Clean the fan and vents, make sure they are not blocked, if you're using a desktop try to open it on the side of the case to see if it changes for how long it takes the computer to overheat.
