Config system CS4 for AVCHD/Blu-Ray reviews

Hello

I need some advice for a CS4 system configuration.

I'm currently building this uncompressed SD/HD/AVCHD video editing system and creating Flash, SD, DVD, Blu - Ray.

This builds a store local model and parts are already coming, so any change would be extras, and I'm on a budget. I know I should have posted this before, but reading contradictory reports on player config issues raised some questions and concerns.

Here are the current specifications...

Fan 750W Corsair ATX Power supply w / 140mm
GlacialTech SilentBlade II 120mm case fan
Motherboard ASUS P6T w/Triple Channel member support
Intel Core i7 920 2.66 Ghz processor
Startup Kingston 128 GB, SATA 300 SSD(Now V-Series) drive
Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5 to 7200 RPM HARD drive X 2 in RAID 0 Stripe (internal)
2 GB memory DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333 MHz) X 6 = 12 GB of RAM
w/elemental Accelerator for nVidia Quadro FX1800 graphics card
SuperMulti Blu - Ray LG burner blue DVD
2 TB USB external HHD (attached via USB)
2TD Firewire external HHD (attached via Firewire 800)
4 pin Molex to 2 x SATA Adapter
4 living squirrels with Hi-power hot peanuts in the hamster wheel
Windows 7x64bit

I use CS4 Production Premium (upsell package) for Windows.

1. is it possible to run CS4 on a SSD drive (such as the start of the OS and the app drive)? I've heard mixed reports that CS4 plays well with the SSD.

2. in the CS4 configuration for a project, which drive each element of project/assets should go to maximize the speed?  After seeing so many conflicting articles, I'm completely lost on disk cache vs vs backup drives media/project files.

3 should I use RAID 0 for my discs scratch (for performance) and just manually the project for an external DRIVE to backup drive?  (I hear horror stories of these freezing in RAID drives).

7. should I wear boxers or briefs when editing?

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes, you can use an SSD as a boot disk for OS & programs. No problem.

2 & 3. Make sure that you do NOT get the 7200.11 Seagates. You SHOULD only use the 7200.12 version. I wouldn't put them in an aid0 (R), especially not with the Seagates. Instead of 1.5 to two disks, you can consider getting a 1.5 TB for support/source and two smaller disks, for projects/zero and one for exports.

Not all P6T mobo have FW800 aboard. You may be limited to FW400. For storage (backup) external, you're better off with eSATA.

7. no doubt the boxers. It fits better with your climbing boots and real editors always wear boots to climb when you're sitting at their editing station, just in case a mountain suddenly appears on the monitor.

  • Config system CS5 for AVCHD reviews

    Hello

I'm looking to build a new computer for first pro CS5 for AVCHD editing as a hobby. The specification that I look at now is

    (a) Intel i7 980 x

    (b) 12 GB of RAM

    (c) nVidia GTX285

    (d) 1 hard drive for OS

    (e) 2nd hard drive for scratch

For additional hard disks I buy, would like to know if raid configuration is necessary for media etc because I read that the processor and ram should be able to deal with AVCHD. I am looking for a smooth surface and less time-consuming for AVCHD.

    Thank you.

No, 2 drive raid0 are more than enough bandwidth and beyond that increases the chance of losing data in case of failure of 1 drive.

This is the reason why I went to this massive table, storage space, speed AND redundancy. I can even add 2 extra drives, loses the 2 simple discs and extend my raid30 at 16 x 1 TB Raid30, including 2 hot-spare parts.

  • Clarification of passthrough for the Blu - ray AVCHD

    Hello

I think that clarification on AVCHD, Blu - ray passthrough must come from someone from Adobe, that can give us the last word on that.

From what I understand a number of positions that have dealt with it, the ONLY way to get from AVCHD directly on Blu - ray in Encore without transcoding, is to import a raw AVCHD (unpublished, non-limited) file in yet as a timeline.

Throughout, I thought I could use Dynamic Link to import a P AVCHD Pro sequence that would not need to be transcoded. But I was not able to do. Even if it is cuts only with no effect or a different kind of files.

I was able to import the files that I used in that order in yet, and then I get the message that the 'Blu - ray transcode status' is 'do not transcode.' But I was not able to get this message using any other workflow. And it is clearly not a viable solution for most situations.

Everyone was able to bind a sequence P Pro and do a passthrough to Blu - ray without dynamically transcoding? If so, you give us an overview of how you did?

    Thank you

    Jeff Sengstack

If there is a way to go from P Pro to Blu - ray without transcoding.

Not at the moment.  (At least, not if you first change it.)

  • I'm unable to get the registration code for my Blu - Ray player

I'm unable to get the registration code for my Blu - Ray player. I followed the instructions and all I get is the statement: device is registered. I can't register for the most part without a valid code. Please let me know how I can get the correct code. Thank you

If you were able to enter the registration code the first time you tried to save the player before then you don't need to do it again. Just bought this drive? If so, was it a screen or mixed open-box model?

  • What is the best setting for H264 Blu Ray bit rate, which will play OK on most / all blu ray players.

What is the best setting for H264 Blu Ray bit rate, which will play OK on most / all blu ray players. When you use CBR and VBR. What are the benefits of progressive and interlaced with regard to playback on all players.

You don't need to worry about compatibility with Blu - ray playback.

I prefer a variable bitrate for its effectiveness.  (Not necessary spending 25 MB on a framework in need of 10 right?)

Using interlaced or progressive will depend on what you shot.  (Take note that 30 p is an atypical, so do not pull that.  Pull only 720 p/24, 720 p/60, 1080 p/24 or 1080i/30).

    Hi Rachelann,

This is discussed by Sony. Sony and CinemaNow are researching on these issues, but there is no time limit as to when a resolution will be available.

Yes, you can connect laptop to TV and can see movies to computer; However, the USB connection does not work.

See the below knowledge article for information on the TV connection on computer for use as a monitor:

  • Project yet for DVD & Blu - ray - I can clone it?

    Hello

I have a video ready to be exported from PremierePro and recorded in PAL 16:9 Full HD. Now, I need to create a DVD and a Blu - ray of the same video disc.

I want to only create a project and then clone so that I can use it for both media.

I have already created a project yet, pick a HD theme. I have now completed everything: I've only worked on the menu but no video, jet.

I would like to know if I can now duplicate the folder and dedicate a folder (still draft) for the DVD and the other folder for Blu - Ray or if this is not possible. I think this should be possible, because if the video is 16:9 for the two media there should be no difference; but do not know.

Don't forget, I've changed most of what the HD model had. I used just a few things.

If this is not possible, can you please teach me how to work on the menus and the preparation of the DVD, before I have to insert the video, once when I create two separate circles in order to reproduce the customizations?

I wish to create two projects still separate and do create all the menu from scratch twice.

Also, is there a valid book that I can buy being devoted to yet or is not required (perhaps because there is a lot of documentation on the Internet)? I learn properly.

    Thank you

In theory, this should be possible, but in reality I would create certainly 2 separate projects.

The main reason is that Blu - ray is 1920 x 1080 square pixels, DVD-video is 720 x 576 (PAL - more on this subject in a minute), and the pixels are rectangular, with the report being in the area of 1.4 PAL: 1 that can destroy a menu if simply scale you down because not only you lose half of your resolution vertical & almost 2/3 of your horizontal resolution , the pixels will be being stretched as well horizontally.

For these reasons, you will need to choose fonts on the screen very carefully for the DVD version and I would be absolutely for certainty make 2 separate menu fixed if it was my project.

PAL is not really an ideal standard to use, as it has a rate of 25 frames per second and you're simply unplayable outside the EU on the vast majority of the players & TV systems - you will definitely trouble to Japan & US.

To make things even more difficult, you can't use progressive scan in PAL resolution either - it's just not in the Blu - ray standard - you will need to use interlaced.

The video is probably the least of your worries, however. First & still may reduce but also make the necessary encoding MPEG-2 for DVD - personally I'd this separate 2 processes, review the decline in SD resolution first to a provisional 10-bit lossless codec and this review of a problem before I did the final version of MPEG-2 for DVD.

    Hope this helps

  • Reinstall the Toshiba Qosmio F750 for 3D Blu - ray player

Dear team of Support from Toshiba,

I have installed the Toshiba Video Player 'new' v4.00.6.09 in the download section for F750. After that, the 'old' Toshiba 3D Blu - ray player crashes as soon as I started it. As the new installed 'Toshiba Video Player v4.00.6.09 f' does not support Bluray 3D disks and has been dated to 2010, I uninstalled it. But the Toshiba 3D Blu - ray player broke again. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall the 'old' "Toshiba 3D Bluray player. Uninstallation of was no problem, but is not possible to reinstall, because the download for Toshiba player Blu - ray 3D download section official Toshiba 'Toshiba Bluray 3d Player V.1.0.1.299' is only one file to update that needs an older version installed of the Toshiba Bluray 3d player.

Dear Supprot team, where / how, please, can I get the Installer * 'full installation' files for the Toshiba the F750 3d Bluray player? (A complete DVD system recovery and reinstallment of just for this player would not be a good option, especially my family and I would like).
Thank you very much for your help,
    Best regards

  • Best options to Export of first CC at CS6 Encore for creating Blu - Ray and DVD discs?

    Howdy!

I have files AVCHD (MTS) of a marriage, I recorded a couple of years (Yes, it is really low on the priority list), I want to change to create DVDs and Blu - Ray discs.  I am aware that I need to make some significant cut to get everything that I consider important to even together double disc DVD and have a lot more leeway with the Blu - Ray.  If I do the editing in Premiere CS6, I can use Dynamic Link to import several chronologies in my project again and (of course) to develop a Menu that the user can use to choose what they want to see.  Then again you can do transcoding with the timelines to get the videos to put them on any disc format created by me (DVD or BD).  HOWEVER...

If I edit the videos with CC PP (2015), I have the relationship dynamic to again (gee, thanks, Adobe!) and to each of my deadlines export to a file, load these in CS6 again and again, let the transcode various chronologies as the best it can to fit the desired output average.

So the question in all of this - what is the 'best' format to export CC PP for later import Encore CS6?

I can't use the MPEG2-DVD or MPEG2 Blu - Ray, because it assumes that each video is to use all the space available on the disk (same problem with H.264 Blu - Ray)!

All right now, I am limited to Codecs and presets available in first/Media Encoder programs.

I you'd be grateful for ideas on what could be the best (closest lossless?) format to use for the export/import of SD or HD videos!

    Thanks in advance!  {I hope the question makes sense...}

If you do not want to use mpeg2-dvd or mpeg2-Bluray (I prefer BD H.264, this is a codec better) you can export to avi with codec lossless Lagarith as UT. Also, you can use these HD codec. But these files are huge.

Can stick to mpeg2-dvd and BD preset and use a bitrate calculator to get the best fit on the disc.

  • How can I find setting up key for player blue ray Toshiba as an Extender

Just bought a blue ray Toshiba BDX5300KB player. When I try to add extender for windows media Center, it asks the figure 8 set up key shown on the TV screen - my TV screen shows nothing! Where can I find this key?

depends on your TV, if it supports play at, you have a few options. But
without an Xbox 360, which is the only Extender, you will not be able to stream
live. some recorded tv CAN run using play.

  • Confused on the project settings for the Blu - Ray?

Worked w\Encore (5.1) a lot of time as the DVD, but this is my first w\BR try so I want to make sure I get this right (thanks in advance for the help!).

The project has a static image (1920 x 1080) and then several animate button video HD which will take you to a video loop "intro" at 1920 x 1080. On this video track, I have a pop-up menu (1920 x 1080 I guess?) which will allow you to select other videos.

    My questions;

Static & pop - up menu is correct?

The intro videos are 1920 x 1080 so no problem there, but the rest of the videos of the project (link to context menus) is all in SD (720 x 480 29.97) until the 'final project defining' should be?

Thus, away from it all seems logical for me until I have to project default settings, they list it as the Blu - Ray (H.264), 1920 x 1080 & 29.97 FPS?

I did a quick test of the only menu & intro videos and it converted the static menu in 1920 x 1080 29.97 but it takes 23.976?

I imported a few SD videos say "do not transcode" according to BR.

Still using the project settings for the menus and slideshows. So if you want a 23.976, then when you create a project, you can choose the frequency of images such as 23.976 in the drop-down menu in the default conversion settings.

As far as video is concerned, if still says not to transcode, then he will write them to disk as it is and yet also creates a calendar based on the properties of the assets. If the dimensions of the asset are legal, then the dimensions of the chronology would be identical to that of the assets.

  • Blu ray software

I bought a computer laptop dv6-3013nr with HD dvd player. Is it possible to rank up to system software for a blu ray dvd player player? How can I do this if possible

    Thank you.

    Hello

This is not possible because your computer does not have a player blu - ray player (hardware), you must upgrade the hardware to can play this type of disc

  • Yet CS4 will not go into the creation of Blu - ray mode

CS4 running on an HP Z800 with an operating system of Windows 7. I am setting up my first Blu - ray project. The encoding of the chronology went well. When you go in, however, trouble begins. After you have filled the new project screen (title, Blu - ray, 1280 x 720, MPEG-2, 59,94 frames per second) the project window opens. Everything in the project window is still scheduled for a SD DVD. I have change the burner for the Blu - ray burner selection and then select Blu - ray. At this point, the small circular blue indicator starts to turn... and continues to do so. I let it go as long as five minutes and nothing changes. Then I go into the Task Manager and the entire computer seizes up, making me have to stop manually. What happens and why still will not go in the design view of Blu - ray?

    Thank you.

    Hi Spencer,.

There was a post on this topic earlier in the forum. I can not find this post, but in this post of Pankaj suggests a very good solution to this problem.

It could be the case that the pxhelp is not compatible with win 7 (64-bit)

    Install the last pxhelp.

  • Listen to music from iPhone for cinema house Blu-ray (BDV-N790W

Is there a way to stream music from an iphone (without being connected to the docking station) for the blu - ray player? I like to play music in itunes on my iphone via the wireless from my phone home theater system. I downloaded the app, but I do not see a feature that will have access to the music on the iphone.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

If you have downloaded media: connect, then the iPod should see the report devices(BDV-N790W) that are on the network since the iPod is the DLNA server. Make sure that the iPod and BDV-N790W are connected to the home network. Check to see if the DLNA server is shown in the Player configuration options by going to SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > SERVER CONNECTION SETTINGS. Also, check that the converter is able to show as available on servers DLNA by going to SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > RENDERING and CONTROL of ACCESS RENDERER OPTIONS. If you can not always connect to the player, then check the firewall of the router settings. If you don't know how to configure the firewall on the router, then contact the manufacturer of the router for further assistance.
