configuration file protection

We install our application in

HOME page: = C:/program files /.

and install our setup.ini file in the same folder. The problem is in Windows 7, the protections all the files in the HOUSE are on read-only. Then the engineer in charge of the customer service is inviting to enter and change the protections of all files in this directory because, he argues, the instructions are easy to follow. I don't want all users in this directory. I tried and failed to write software that would change the protections for me. I also tried to put the installation file in different directories without success.

How can I get the installation program to install a configuration file on a computer that is read/write enabled?

Hello

You should probably put your configuration files in the Public App Data folder.  You can do this with a LabVIEW 2011 Installer, but I know that you can not with an installer of LabVIEW 8.2.1.  I don't know when they added that.  If your version of LabVIEW does not have this feature have then your application copy the configuration file of your program files in the App Data folder if it does not exist in the Application Data folder.  You can get the App Data folder in the registry.  We can you give more details if you need it, but tell us what version of LabVIEW you have.

  • Using an automatic configuration file to create bookmarks

    I use an example provided by Mike Kaply to change my automatic configuration file to add bookmarks to the profiles of the users. However, whenever I run FF, instead of bookmarks should be replaced, I get an extra game. So after 5 revival, I have 5 sets of bookmarks that I added.
    Is there a way to avoid this?
    Here is the code I use:
    Add bookmarks
    Components.utils.Import ("resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm");
    var uri = Services.io.newURI ("http://mike.kaply.com", null, null);
    var navBook = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/browser/nav-bookmarks-service;1"].getService(Components.interfaces.nsINavBookmarksService);
    create new folder
    var FolderId = navBook.createFolder (navBook.bookmarksMenuFolder, "New folder", 0);
    Add bookmark to newly created folder
    navBook.insertBookmark (SCCCFolderId, uri,-1, "Mike's Blog");

    In the end, I had to write code using a loop with an if statement then look for an existing bookmark. Of course it's a little more complicated than that.
    It was not easy, but I am able to do what I have to.

  • Firefox allows the printing of files PROTECTED on my server. WHY?

    All other browsers RESPECT the fact that a PDF is password protected and does NOT allow this file to be printed. Fire Fox violates this rule, and let's users simply of pass protection and print the files. It really SUCKS! He should fix it to conform to current practices. Is this corrected?

    WON'T. I speak NOT of the IMAGE being copied from a screen. This, of course, can be done by anyone. What I'm talking about you, is that FIREFOX, unlike all other browsers, ALLOWS you to print a PROTECTED PDF FILE complete. This should NOT be and this issue should NOT be closed and just brushed side because Mozilla has a MAJOR BUG in their software. Your program should be corrected in order to RESPECT the protection of a file and NOT allow it to be printed in its ENTIRETY.

  • FieldPoint configuration file

    Recently, I transfer my Labview file to a new computer. My set up has the following features, FP-1000F P-RTD-122 and FP - RLY-422. I installed the latest driver of the Fieldpoint, however, when I try to run my file. It says "cannot locate the file of Configuration Fieldpoint" iak.  . I tried to find my devices using MAX, but I couldn't. I am new to Labview, I was using an exsisting implemented. It worked fine until a few days ago.   I started having problems when I start to use the new computer.

    can someone suggest a way more to come my problem. How do I create a configuration file?

    Thank you

    In the previous configuration, it is possible that the channel names have been changed to something else.  So instead of something like Channel 0, you may have renamed to TempOil, (for example)?

    What is the name of the tag that is used to read from FP in any part of your code is causing the error?  If it matches a valid name in MAX.   You may need to rename the channel in the area of data to the MAX to match.  Even if you do not, it may be a good idea to go through your label constants or controls and rebrowse to the channels again.

  • Disabling update the configuration file without stopping the VI

    I would like to perform a function that when the new modules are added in the existing system of the public Service or hot swapping modules autour, the VI can update its configuration file. I don't want the VI to stop we will collect data 24/7.

    I use cFP2220 and two or three modules of different types. I have my work VI and it is fairly straightforward FP read.vi in a time loop. All data are stored in the database using the Labview database tool. My screws are hosted on the local PC, not on the controller. I'm using Labview 8.6.

    I guess I have to get the file configuration (iak), whenever new modules are added, the iak file can be changed (without MAX aperture). In any case, I would have the flexibility to run the VI continuous. I know there is a similar code here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3221and they get the configuration file in the ini file. But I don't know how it's done as I can save only the configuration file as a file iak for FP system.

    Another potential problem associated with that, I guess, is the database format. For now, I use a three column structure, i.e., DateStamp, value and ChannelID. In this case, if I want to add/remove/swap channels, I can just change the ID of the corresponding channel. What happens if I have a horizontal arrangement of the database, namely 10 columns corresponding to 10 sensors, would he be in trouble if I change channels modules?

    Thank you very much.

    There is a way to change the module and programmatically updated the IAK file without stopping the VI.  You will need to change the FP read.vi front right by with the constant e/s FieldPoint.  You will need to use the Open FP, FP create Tag, read FP, and close to the public Service.  The trick to this is that you must pre-create files IAK in MAX first.  The way to do is to set up your cart in a configuration and then find devices to MAX.  Then save the iak.  Then reorganize your bottom of basket to the next setting would have desired, then have MAX find devices and who save in a file different iak.  You will need to do this for each configuration you have.  Then, you need to place the code below when you want to Ministry the configuration file.  I have also included a screenshot of MAX that you can see what the strings are correlated with.

  • How to write the comma delimited numbers of configuration file

    Hello

    In the attached Configuration File.vi write, I am trying to crush several whole decimal in the keys 1 and 2 of the attachment Test.ini. I am to convert the array of integers in a string. Because of this, the string written in the ini file is now being bracketed by apostrophes. What should I do to write the string without the apostrophes, as in the Test old.ini file?

    I appreciate your help. Thank you.

  • VI Analyzer "a few screws and/or essays have been added or removed from your file system because you have saved changed this configuration file."

    When I run VI analyzer and open our standard configuration file, the message "some screws and/or essays have been added or removed from your file since changed record system this file of configuration." appears. By clicking OK, choose something to analyze and move to the VI Analyzer - select the Tests, the selection of testing control dialog box is completely empty and the Analyze button is grayed out.

    I'm runing LabVIEW 2013 on Windows 7, VI Analyzer worked before and I tried repairing and uninstalling the LabVIEW program (then reinstalling) already. If I do not select a config file or try to reset all the test configurations, control of the Tests remains empty.

    Is it possible to restore the tests or difficulty just the VI Analyzer toolkit?

    The only thing I remember to change since I ran last parser is that I installed the tiara.

    Most likely someone accidentally moved the test record THROUGH by accident

    VIA installs like a Toolbox and would not repair with just a LabVIEW installation

    You could re - install Media Developer Suite if you have that in the opposite case:

    Or the other

    Change > getting started window or

    Tools > find a LabVIEW Addons

    will launch the search VIPM tool

    Search for VI Analyzer

    Download and install

  • Cannot deploy when you use the FPGA configuration file

    Hi all

    I'm new to NI Veristand. We use a controller NIPXI 8108 with a map of FPGA OR 7841R. Is the used chassis OR PXI 1042 q. VeriStand does not deploy, when we try to add the target FPGA. For adding, we used the default for NOR 7841R provided with veristand FPGA configuration file. The error is attached! Without adding the FPGA target, we are able to deploy.

    We programmed with LabVIEW FPGA card and it works.

    Please help us!

    Thank you

    SID

    Hi Sid

    This is because the FPGA card is not connected through the chassis

    Right click on the (unidentified) PXI system and identify as PXI 1042 q.

    Right-click on the PXI-1042 q system and identify the PXI-8108 controller.

    Then it will automatically fill the devices under the controller

    Now try to deploy again. It will work

  • read txt large files (via Configuration files) takes too long

    Hello

    I want to read files txt large (about 1-8 MB) in memory.

    the structure of the file looks like this:

    [0]
    Shape = 'Point '.
    The size of the grid [nm] = 100,000000
    Dose of pixel [pC] = 0,100000
    Color = 0
    X = 38,169451
    Y = 10,102625

    and for example a 1 MB txt file contains about 8000 of these points.

    with the code current iam using it takes forever to the txt file is loaded:

    no idea how to make the code faster?

    Thanks in advance!

    The configuration files of NOR is notorious for its slowness.  It is generally not sensitive because you normally just read small amounts of data, but as soon as it's large structures, it is very sensitive.  OpenG has a config INI palette that allows you to read or to write something else that the low level is these screws NOR and it shows because it can be very slow.

    The solution is not to use these configuration screws instead I highly recommend the read/write of MGI nothing.  MGI says the chain of analysis from scratch and therefore it is super fast.  You can install the tools of MGI using VI Package Manager.

  • Reading Configuration files using Labview RT in a Compact RIO

    Hello

    I am very new to Labview RT/Compact RIO development platform and happen to have a question. I will develop an application in Labview RT / FPGA that will make several simulations. However some these simulations can produce different results depending on the configuration settings. Our systems generally run in a Windows application, were there is a configuration (usually in XML format) file that the application reads and analyzes the given parameters. I was wondering if there is something similar, that I can do it, in which I have a configuration file that can be read before my Labview RT/FPGA application initialization, to change the simulation.

    Thank you

    Hi Mario,.

    That's right, there are screws for the files .ini on real-time targets.

    Version of installed components are not compatible with the version of LabView express signal 2012. Please install the latest version of the following:

    I do not have Labview signal express 2012 so I do not understand why this error pops up. I also have difficulties in locating the mentioned software

    Please notify

    Hi Yogev_sharvit,

    There is not a way to save the files to a previous version of the Sound and Vibration Assistant. I encourage you to contact SAGE, who was the source of the files, and whether they have a 2011 version available. Otherwise, it may be necessary to configure the steps in the wizard. I've included a screenshot of the file opened below. Unfortunately, this does not bring as much light on the different steps that we would.
