Configuration of AppsTier (CFP, load balancing) of nodes R12 Multi with RAC 2 nodes

Dear all,

I installed and configured applications R12 with Oracle RAC 2 nodes. (APP1, DB1 and DB2).

Now, I need to add a layer of application (APP2) to configure high availability, balancing load and PCP.

So, I cloned (adcfgclone.pl appsTier) application for APP2 layer (not shared, the two file systems are different). When I run the application it doesn't knot APP2 App1, more more simultaneous manager works only on a node (can be due to APPLCSF does not point to the mounting NFS share folder), although I've defined managers primary school-children also.

If I run the autoconfiguration of APP1 application service will only work on APP1 and even if I do for APP2, then application works with APP2. I need to have configuration CFP, balancing the load (via DNS if possible) and the high availabllity for the Application tier.

When I start the application, it will start OPMN and APPS Listener on the nodes, but simultaneous manager does not start on both, to a single node.

Is this requires having both APPS name of the node is the same?

Thank you very much

Ravi,

If I run the autoconfiguration of APP1 application service will only work on APP1 and even if I do for APP2, then application works with APP2.

Most likely, it's something with the profile option values, then run utility adchkcfg to get an html report that lists all files and profile options that change when you run AutoConfig on each node.

I need to have configuration CFP, balancing the load (via DNS if possible) and the high availabllity for the Application tier.

For load balancing, you must perform the steps according to the guidelines of this document.

For the installation of the CFP, please see:

https://metalink2.Oracle.com/MetaLink/PLSQL/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=not&P_ID=388577.1

When I start the application, it will start OPMN and APPS Listener on the nodes, but simultaneous manager does not start on both, to a single node.

Any errors in the log file of CM?

Is this requires having both APPS name of the node is the same?

It is not necessary.

Kind regards

  • Load balancing between nodes in a cluster analytic provider service

    Hi all

-First a bit of background on my architecture. My EMP environment consist of 3 servers Solaris:

Server1: Foundation Services + APS + EAS WLS Server Admin

    Server2: Foundation Services-APS-EA

Server 3: Essbase Server + server Essbase Studio

All services are deployed on a single domain. We have a load balancer, sitting in front of Server1 and Server2 that redirects the request according to the availability of services.

    -Consider the APS:

We have an APS cluster "AnalyticProviderServices" loaded their AnalyticProviderServices1 on Server1 and AnalyticProviderServices2 deployed on Server2.

So I connect to the APS and connect as User1. Say that the balancer load decides to send my request to server1, so my request are then managed by APS on Server1. Now if APS on server1 is reduced, all requests for APS on server1 are redirected by weblogic to APS on server2.

Now ideally APS on server2 should say "hey I see what APS on server1 is down so I will take your session, where it was stopped." So I wait for the 2nd APS node in the cluster to tale my session. But this does not happen... I need to log in again when I hit refresh in excel I get the error "Invalid session...". Please log in again". When I opened EAS, according to me, that I was connected with a new session ID. It seems that the cluster nodes are simply load - swing and are not smart enough to take a node that failed, sessions where she had stopped.

Is my understanding correct or do I have to configure something to do?

    Thank you

I have found information on the configuration of hubs for load-balancing and realized that. I can't find any information on how the Member devices keep their configurations in sync. Is it automatic or is it necessary to update all members manually when changes are made?

    Dennis,

Automatic synchronization of the configuration on the hubs is not possible. You must manually synchronize the configs.

  • RAC load balancing question

We have added a third node of a cluster with two nodes on 11/7. Before the addition, expenses (via the OS uptime command or above) on the two first nodes were included between 20 and 40. The first node was the more active of the two, rarely fall below 30, but on both charges were very high. These first two nodes have two dual core CPU with 16 GB of RAM, who have six cases of db on each. The third node has two quad core CPU and 16 GB of RAM. We added only the busiest db on the third node, so there is only a single instance. We have added the third node to all remote to connect DB files tnsnames, with LOAD_BALANCE = yes. For the first week, Sunday 11/7 to Sunday 11/14, most incoming connections were still nodes 1 and 2. Connections have been made to node 3, but not as much as we would like. However, since this last Sunday 11/14, the majority of the connections are nodes 2 and 3. Rarely a connection will node 1. We can connect directly on node 1 with no problems. Nothing has changed over the weekend and nothing has been restarted. Is something that takes a while to 'calibrate' load balancing? Is there something that we can check or change to give a more balanced load? We are new on the PAP, so we are puzzled as to why it happened this way. Any guidance or advice is greatly appreciated.

You must configure at the level load balancing server-side.

    (1) register all instances in any listener by setting local_listener and remote_listener of init parameters
    (2) CLB_GOAL set of each service, to set the expected duration of connections ("SHORT" for the pools of connections or "LONG" for forms)
    (3) set the GOAL of each services, updated the workload expected (FLOW for batch) or TIME of SERVICE for web sessions

  • TMS 14.5 and redundancy with F5 load balancing

    Hello

I'm looking in the installation guide for TMS 14.5 to design redundancy TMS with the F5 for one of my clients. I wonder if there is any requirement of specific network for the TMS1, TMS2 and F5 must be in the same VLAN or not. My client have a TMS with TMSPE and deploy the TMS Server 2nd in different data center and will use existing F5 load balancing. They cannot have the same VLAN as a current TMS server in the new data where 2nd MSDS server will be Center. Existing F5 load balancing is also, in the VLAN different already.

y at - there no specific review we need to take care of the redundancy?

    Thank you

    Chris

As the TMS 14.4, TMS no longer an active/active load-balanced mode and now works as active/passive.

You can find the details in the "Configure a redundant deployment" section of the Installation of TMS and Upgrade Guide (latest version 14.6 related).

As long as both devices are accessible (and your F5 can route traffic to each of them according to the needs), it does not matter what VLAN, subnet or a location that each MSDS server resides on.  Information of VLAN in the guide are just one example of how it can be configured in a simple load balancing scenario.

  • Someone at - he set up the Insight Log load balancing?

    Hello

We try to log configuration Insight in a load-balanced, and cluster configuration. After the search tirelessly for blogs, the question on this forum, or other persons who completed it and shared their installation that I found nothing. The only thing that comes close is http://sflanders.net/2014/05/01/log-insight-2-0-beta-load-balancing/ , but indicates only how it will come in a future post!

I was going to Setup Proxy HA, but from my understanding it will not charge the way UDP traffic that newspapers Insight will want to have it transmitted information. Because we want to send more, otherwise all traffic to syslog to log Insight area, we would need to use UDP 514.

Those who have actually set up load balancing, you followed a guide? If not, could you share how you accomplished, setting up your environment to balance between several workers?

    Any help is appreciated!

    -Patrick

    Hey Patrick,

I just posted a more practical guide this morning: http://sflanders.net/2014/06/24/log-insight-external-load-balancer-configurations/

You can use HAproxy, but if you need UDP, then you're right in that it will not be to your needs. If you are looking for a free/free alternative, take a look at: downloads | Load balancer Zen

  • Oracle RAC Concept - load balancing

    Hi all

I have a question about the Oracle RAC and how it balances the load.
What I know about Oracle RAC that it load balancing between his node, so if a new session is connected to the database it will run on the node that has less load.
If I have an application that connects to the database with little number of sessions and a few sessions are huge (huge load) implementation process while other sessions are running small processes (in terms of load).

So here's an example scenario that I request a response to this one:
If am having a two node RAC database.

My application connected to this database RAC wants to run three processes P1, P2 and P3, each will have a session correlatively S1, S2 and S3
    Let's say that P1 will take 60% of database resources (memory) and P2 P3 1% and 1%.
So my question is this a sessions load balancing or load balancing process? So in this case and at random (Managed by ORACLE RAC) S1 is connected to node 1 and it uses the resources of node 1 so the load on node 1 will be 60%, so when S2 and S3 must connect it will go to node 2 from node 1 is loaded. in this case I'll have 1 node using 60% of it's resources (because of S1 that runs P1) while node 2 uses only 2% (because of the S2 and S3 running P2 and P3).
Is - this operation of Oracle RAC? or it S1 (60%) load balance between nodes 1 and 2?

I ask this question because my application is not users, so it will connect to the database with the small number of sessions, and 1 session of them can run a huge process while the other runs of small processes.
So in this case, how RAC takes stock of loading?

    Kind regards

  • The side load balancing test server

    Hello
Can anyone tell me about any test cases for server side in a 11.1.0.7 RAC load balancing?

I have a 2 RAC nodes with either local_listener and remote_listener correctly (for load balancing server-side). For the test, I create a TNS to my side client that points to a single node of the PAP (a single ADDRESS entry pointing to node 1 of my CARS). So, this customer, whenever I log in, it always connects me node 1 I mentioned in the LMO. This means that server-side load balancing works jointly with the client side only load balancing and I would also add the address entered my TNS for the second node? If Yes, then how can I create a test case to check server load balancing?

    Thank you

    Dear Salman Qureshi,

  • See the connection to the server, load balancer & physical workstations

We deploy a VMWare view environment and we use a combination of physical and virtual desktops.

When install us the Agent to view physical workstations with the /V "VDM_VC_MANAGED_Agent = 0" settings. " This allows to specify the Server Manager to view to record the workstation during installation.

So far we've just been specifying a connection view servers and everything was fine. But now we are getting our deployment and we want to ensure that we have the appropriate redundancy built in.

If the server connection view that physical workstation is registered during installation fails, is grave view agent automatically knows to start watching one of the replica servers?

If it isn't... We are keen to implement a load balancer between the workstations phyiscal on connection view servers. Are there problems with it?

I found many articles balancer redundancy and load for VMWare View, but none don't talk specifically a load balancer between physical work stations with the agent of the view and connection servers.

Take a look in the registry on the physical Machine, he must list all available connection brokers it.

  • Least loaded node load - balancing

    Hello
Due to dynamic service registration, a listener is always aware of all instances and dispatchers regardless
of their locations. Depending on the load information, a listener decides which instance and, if shared server
is configured, which dispatcher to send the incoming client request to. In a shared server configuration, a
listener selects a dispatcher in the following order:

    1. Least-loaded node
    2. Least-loaded instance
    3. Least-loaded dispatcher for that instance

In a dedicated server configuration, a listener selects an instance in the following order:

    1. Least loaded node
    2. Least loaded instance
When we talk about connection (from 9i to Oracle RAC) load balancing it are two things main considered as least loaded node & least loaded instance.
So what factor should be considered for an average of least loaded node CUP, memory, IO, network or even the number of process running(running,sleep,...) is oracle gather information from top, utility wink to get statistician.
And when we say least loaded node this factor are considered by oracle is that, as the number of sessions (active, inactive...) "(or killed), using component CMS." Can we say load on node is proportional to the load on the Forum... How oracle identifies and what process does it for balancing.

    Any docs or paper?

    Thank you

    Hello

    10.1 and oracle 9i

Less loaded node means less CPU load
Least loaded instance means less number of connections that have been made to the instance

'Process' and "instance charge" gives an indication of the number of connections that have been made to the instance.

"Charge of node" gives an indication of the degree of activity of the machine is. By default, 'charge of node"is the main factor in determining where to go new connections.
For example, if you have a 2 RAC cluster and instance 1 has a load of instance node and '25' 2 has a charge of '50' node, new connections will be routed to
    instance 1.

    Changes to Oracle 10.2
In versions of Oracle 10.2 and later, the listener uses a local value "lbscore" to determine the charge of node and instance.
Lbscore consists of two dynamic values 'kindness' and 'delta' which are continuously updated by pmon.
When an instance is started PMON will communicate with the listener and provide departure for goodness and the delta values...

Listener = goodness of PMON Lbscore
    Listener Delta = Delta PMON

To account for changes in load between PMON updated, the listener will increment the lbscore after each new incoming connection...

Lbscore listener = listener (previous) Lbscore + earpiece Delta

With each periodic update load by PMON the Lbscore and Delta are updated with the current data.

Lbscore = goodness (receipt of updated PMON)
Delta = New Delta (receipt of updated PMON)

  • How to configure das MD3200i load balancing

I would like to connect a MD3200i (with two raid controllers) to one of our Windows 2003 R2 servers without the aid of a switch.

After most of the documentation, some things remain pretty obscure to me. I'm new to MPIO/balancing and cannot figure how to set up.

Is it possible to connect 1 nic host to RAID 0 and another host nic to RAID 1 and then combine the bandwidth? Thus having 2Gbs instead of 1Gbs? Or is it only a redundant path sollution, happening the other controller in case of failure of the first line. How can I configure this regarding the IP addresses, subnets. And where is the configuered to load balancing. This is explained in the documentation? I can't find it. I found a few examples that include the use of a switch, but none with das sollutions.

What I have is 4 the MD3200i UTP cables to connect to the host. 2 the high raid controller and 2 on the lower raid controller. And use that I have 4x1Gbs, resulting a connection 4Gbs to a single partition on the MD3200i of load balancing.

    Thanks for any help.

Multiple paths and in windows 2003 load balancing is managed by the driver MPIO is installed when you install the 'host' or 'full' version install MD Storage Manager. There is no need to separately aggregated network adapters to get the aggregate bandwidth. The pilot, by default, uses repetition alternated on all ports connected to a single controller.

Also, for a single virtual disk, all i/o through a single controller and the second controller acts as a redundant path. So, if you have 2 x 1 Gbps connections to each controller, you will have, at most, 2 Gbps for each partition. Now, each controller can have virtual disks, so the second controller may have a second partition that will also have a separate between 2 x 1 Gbps connection.

You can set IP addresses and subnets that are similar to the way that you would with a switch as long as you can test the connection port. It would be wise for each NETWORK card on the host on a different subnet and each port on the MD3200i on the corresponding subnet. This will make it easier when you set up your iSCSI.

You can use the configuration utility to MD in place your iSCSI sessions too

  • Can someone tell me what the recommendation of Oracle is on how to best configure the load balancer?
