Configuration of PCI Bus (PCI bus 64,128,256)

Hello

It seems that "Configuration of the PCI bus" disappear of BIOS in the last DELL PRECISION T7910, T5810, T3620 as well as on the OPTIPLEX 7020

I need to have '256 PCI bus.

How can I do?

Thank you

Concerning

These aren't the parameters of UEFI.  It is from the CSM BIOS. The T5600 has two slots PCI Express 3.0 x 16 a PCI Express 3.0 slot x 4, a slot PCI Express 2.0 x 4, a slot PCI Express 2.0 x 1 and inherited a PCI slot.  New systems do not have a legacy slot and do not have PCI express 2.0 support.

  • Configuration of database running on the server with 256 cpu

    Hi all

    We have a rac 11.2.0.2 on Solaris 10 installation.

    There are a lot of settings Oracle automatically design based on the number of CPUs.
    In my case, this number is too high.

    For example, normally db_cache_size = 4 MB * cpu, in this case the result is 1 G of db_cache_size.

    The plan is to create several databases on this car, so the question is:

    Is there a way to design or to tell oracle a different number of cpu?
    and in general...
    You have some tips on how it is possible to configure a machine so powerful that runs a large number of instances?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Spugna,

    Of course, as long as you use Oracle 11 g you can use Instance Caging to limit each database, the CPU usage. Although it is no longer applicable to the single server database or a CCR node I see no reason why not to use with RAC. Look here for more information:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E14072_01/server.112/e10595/dbrm007.htm

    You could also consider the consolidation of these different in a large database of databases if it is possible and there is no dependence application?

    Kind regards

So I installed an LSI MegaRaid SAS 9266-8I have in my machine hoste, tied the two HARD drives and set up a RAID 1 virtual disk in the bios on the card. After the reboot, the map and the virtualdisk are recognized by the hypervisor. I configured the PCI card for DirectPath-I/O and attached to a virtual computer that runs Debian Wheezy. The virtual machine appears normally, but I can't the virtual disk or disks attached to card in/dev.

  • MD3200i / ESXi 4.1 Multipathing problem

    I'm having a problem with a MD3200i and our new virtual server T710 - it works, but performance is absolutely catastrophic.  Here are the details...

    Server is a T710, 4 integrated network interface cards + a 4 Intel Server NIC port.  Execution of ESXi 4.1 was last updated - now that he has 6 guests on it, going to be total 10 (most are lightly loaded special servers). Server is connected to the San 4 direct cable to port 4 Intel Server NIC to 4 ports on the management controller

    We have 4 drives (2 TB SAS) in the SAN - not my first choice - but what the customer wanted. Table is configured as a RAID-10.  We have 3 logical volumes - to 2, to 1 and 750 GB.  Each is formatted as a VMFS data store.

    I followed the instructions in the White Book of Dell to implement the MD3200 with ESX 4.1 and it does not appear that we have multpathing working properly.  The VCenter Client is only show 6 usable track - should be 12 total (3 volumes of x * 4 network cards).

    I went through the docs, a handful of times, can't find anything that seems an obvious problem.  Here's the output of certain commands in the documentation - if something else would be helpful, let me know.  I feel that I'm running a wall of bricks here, any advice would be great!

    Thanks in advance...

    Your problem is that you use a single subnet for the entire iSCSI configuration.

    Each NIC (that you want to use for iSCSI) needs its own subnet. If you do not (from your network group) superior to scale 10.10.102.0 - 255, just subnet with a 27-bit subnet mask. The gateways are not relevant because I doubt that your server will try to connect to a San in a completely different network, so you don't have to worry about having to do/create additional gateways on the switch (s).

    Here is an example of setting based on your IP ranges and modify with a subnet mask of 27 bits (255.255.255.224) (to avoid having to get several IP address ranges):

    SAN iSCSI ports:

    Controller 0:

    iSCSI port 0: 10.100.102.1

    iSCSI port 1: 10.100.102.33

    iSCSI port 2: 10.100.102.65

    iSCSI port 3: 10.100.102.97

    iSCSI port 2: 10.100.102.66

    iSCSI port 3: 10.100.102.98

  • Set up multiple paths to EqualLogic PS4000 iSCSI

    I have two Dell PowerEdge M610 in a PowerEdge M1000e that my team was given as units of seeds (thanks Dell) and we ended up buying storage, they sent with it, an EqualLogic PS4000.  The representative of Dell came and helped to get the basic running configuration and how iSCSI worked and showed us a doc (the same doc Configuring_VMware_vSphere_Software_iSCSI_with_Dell_EqualLogic_PS_Series_Storage.pdf noted many threads here) on how get v4.1 ESX (i) running with this storage.  We all stood up and running most of the time before he left, but after going on documentation, again, I have seen that we should be able to establish connections mutable and "Round Robin" to improve performance.  As I see so far in the two vSphere Client and in the management of the EqualLogic console console, I get only one per server (as seen on the attached screenshots).  I've been beating my head on this for the last few days trying to get the connections going.  In fact, I've seen it work once but for other reasons, I had to redo the raid on the host computer and reload and have not been able to get it working again... :'-(

    So what I am doing wrong?  I tried to read on other threads, but haven't read the answer to this question.  Thanks for your help.

    There is a step in this configuration guide where you link all of your VMkernel ports to the iSCSI initiator.  You will remember to do this step?

    What looks like the output of the following control air: esxcli swiscsi nic list vmhba39 d

    You should see the vmk1 and vmk2 in there.

  • Satellite P25-s607: max memory speed

    I plan to upgrade my memory to the phone of p25-s607, he saya in the spec that the memory is ddr 266
    someone told me that the chipset is 885 pe so the card mother shoud suport up to 400 mhz,
    is it so? and if I put it ddr 333 (or 400) going to work at these speeds?

    Hello

    The chipset is Intel 865PE and ICH5 with data/address Bus width; 64-bit / 32-bit
    In addition, this device was shipped with 512 MB of DDR SDRAM and you expand to 2048 MB
    Memory expansion: 128, 256, 512, 1024 MB, 2.5V, SODIMM, DDR PC2100 SDRAM

    Unfortunately I have not found information on the memory clock speed, but as far as I know, you can use these Kingston modules:
    Kingston KTT3614/128 128 MB of memory
    Memory of 256 MB Kingston KTT3614/256
    KTT3614/512 Kingston 512 MB of memory
    Memory module 1 GB Kingston KTT3614 / 1 G

  • Satellite Pro A60 - confused about upgrading RAM

    Hello..
    I updated my PSA65E-01201SEN RAM: 256 MB to 1.2 GB (over 1 GB). Now I want to increase by more than 1 GB. Apparently, in the sheet it says:
    1 x slot memory extension
    more,
    Standard system memory: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    data bus width: 64-bit
    technology: DDR RAM
    expansion module sizes: 128, 256, 512, 1 024 MB

    I'm a little confused:
    (1) is the maximum scalability of 2 GB includes the "system memory" 256 MB?
    (2) if the top expansion module size is 1 GB, how the hell I'll reach 2 GB, as I have just 1 slot memory?

    help is welcome!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Luis,.

    From what I've been able to find out the A60 series comes with 1 on-board RAM module X (256 MB) and an expansion slot that can take a maximum of 1 GB of RAM which gives a maximum of 1.25 GB RAM.

    I checked this on some sites web non-Toshiba as well and they all list the same details.

    I think that the 2048 Mb you can be well cite an error in the list of specifications. As you say, it is not possible to reach this value with one slot available.

    Kind regards

  • Simulink Inport/Outport data types

    I searched for a while and I am unable to find documentation about what types of data I need to use the inports, outport, settings and in my Simulink models.

    Is there some specific types of data that are, or are not supported?  How VeriStand to determine how to coerce data to send the model?  Also, I was under heard VeriStand uses doubles for everything but then I saw a post that says he uses of I64.

    Any clarification would be much appreciated.

    VeriStand 2013 SP1 (probably upgraded to 2016 in next year if it's relevant)

    MATLAB 2010 b and MATLAB 2012 b (currently)

    > Are there types of specific data that are, or are not supported?

    I don't remember there being any limitation of types beyond what is stated in the considerations help document.

    Considerations relating to the integration of The MathWorks, Inc. Simulink® software models (model Interface T...

    The big hiccup I remember wasn't mainly with types of configurations and data bus.

    IIRC, you can choose any numeric type desired in Simulink. The structure of the model interface that uses VeriStand will handle any type and convert it to double so that it can be consumed by the VeriStand engine.

    > How VeriStand to determine how to coerce data to send the model?

    I think the way it works is that when VeriStand interacts with the Simulink model, it gets a list and information (pointer, data type) of inports, remote villages and settings. Thus, it can capture data from the model (because it has the pointer), and it can cast its data type (because he knows the type) duplicate. If you look at the example model model interface on line 212 it might help to make things more clear on how this could work.

    C:\VeriStand\2016\ModelInterface\custom\examples\template.c

    Double USER_GetValueByDataType (void * ptr, int32_t subindex, int32_t type)
    {
    switch (type)
    {
    case 0:
    {
    / * double * /.
    (double) return (((double *) ptr) [subindex]);
    }
    case 1:
    {
    / * only * /.
    (double) return (((float *) ptr) [subindex]);
    }
    }

    / * return NaN, ok for vxworks and pharlap * /.
    uint32_t nan [2] = {0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF};
    return *(double*) nan;
    }

    I'm guessing that the full implementation of which uses VeriStand is much more complex, but I think that the idea is the same.

    > Also, I was under heard VeriStand uses doubles for everything but then I saw a post that says he uses of I64.

    VeriStand engine uses indeed of all double rooms.

    You happen to remember this post and you can share the link? I'd be curious to see where this is said and in what context.

  • UMI-7764 second axis does not

    I have a strange problem with my installation of motion control OR and I was wondering if someone could help me.

    I have the following configuration:

    PCI-7330 connected to an UMI-7764

    Connected to the UMI-7764 I have two drives of P70530 stepper, themselves connected to two engines step by step from Nema-23 with encoders tree wired to the UMI-7764. While following the manual.

    The switch "Inhibit the entry" is set to active top and switch "Output Inhibit" is set to active low.

    The two discs P70530 initialize (solid green LED). The step by step and the engine performs on the terminals of the 'axis 1' of the UMI-7764 works very well. The other, performs on the terminals 'axis 2' does not work. When I try to run a query through MAX, the engine hear "click" once and then disengages. The reader is then a flashing green LED.

    The engine will stay disengaged until I try a movement in the opposite direction, how the same 'click' is heard and the motor is now engaged. No movement other than the vibrations caused by the engine engage/disengage occurs.

    Readers and encoders are wired identically in the UMI. I had the cables with the player that works as well as the discs themselves and even engines. The result is always the same; training/cable to 'Axis 1' engine works fine and 'axis 2 ","clicks"but does not move.

    I would like some advice or suggestions anyone can provide, please.

    After going back through all the threads, once again, I finally finished by checking the list of pins on the P70530 drive - > UMI-7764 cable.

    It turns out that I had the wrong cable on the second axis. Part number 198151-2R5 instead of 198141-2R5. D - SUB connectors they are identical but different pinouts. After mapping the pins to the correct UMI axis terminals 2nd screw works now.

  • RTSI sample clock source

    Hello

    I have a small question on an example of clock by RTSI source.

    In my configuration, two PCI cards (PCI-6602 (dev2) and PCI-6110 (dev1)) are connected by a RTSI cable.

    I would like to build a clock on 6110 source sample and use it on 6602 counting external impulses of entry.

    In the MAX test Panel, I checked that a meter was reading of external signals.

    However, the vi attached do not work, and the whole County, and then give an error of 200284.

    Could you tell me what is the problem?

    I guess that something is not right on the clock signal routing. I have to use DAXmx connect terminals vi instead of external signal?

    How can I check that both devices are connected through a RTSI cable?

    I recorded the cable and connected devices on MAX with no problems. Is this enough?

    Thank you for your comments and kind suggesion.

    Several things briefly:

    • Must match the orientation of the RTSI cable.  Connectors are generally indexed to ensure this, but if you use a cable in water House, just keep it flat between the boards.

    • The code you posted attempts to use the time base internal 20 MHz as a sample clock.  That will not work for several reasons, and the fact that you try suggests you may have a poor understanding of the functioning of the meter.  You do * not * need to "sample" at a pace high in order to catch the digital transitions.  The meter circuit manages everything in the material.  What you "sample" in a task of counter is a County registry value.  Digital TTL edges which are worth little matter how many times you "sample" it increases.

    • I suspect you want to * account * cycles of the clock of the signal of your 6110, be it a train of pulses counter or a sample clock based on the tasks.

    • I am writing an example that does without buffer sampling clocked by the software, to approximately 10 Hz.  Dev2 uses to generate a pulse of 1000 Hz and uses Dev1 train to interrogate the County registry value in a loop.  It is simple from the code you posted to help unravel the special problems of routing RTSI config problems.  Start using something simple like this to see if DAQmx succeeds routing signals through RTSI.
