Configuration of the network during installation Linux4 update5

Hi all

I would appreciate if someone could help me with a problem I have.

I want to install Oracle Apps 12.1.1 on update Linux4 5 on my own PC. It would not be any other OS on this system so that the system would not for Oracle applications.

I refer to the following website to know how to install Linux for Oracle.

http://appsdba.info/docs/oracle_apps/RedHat/oel4.PDF

According to this document, I should get a screen to set network configuration which I did not. I thought that it would be not only important to configure the network so I worry when I don't have it. But after installing Linux, I couldn't connect to the Internet. Someone told me about a successful Oracle Linux applications, installation you must have internet working!

Is someone can you please tell me why I don't get the network configuration screen during the installation of Linux? OR if there is no other better way to set up the network? I am a beginner in installation of Linux and Oracle, and need some more will certainly help in the future. Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

Kind regards
Anshul

Didn't get what? What stage are you talking?

What is the entry that you have in the file/etc/hosts? What is the output of "ifconfig - a"?

But after installing Linux, I couldn't connect to the Internet. Someone told me about a successful Oracle Linux applications, installation you must have internet working!

That's not true, and you don't need to have an internet connection for Oracle EBS work. However, if you install on a virtual machine, you should be able to access the internet from the computer asked if the host computer is connected to the internet.

Is someone can you please tell me why I don't get the network configuration screen during the installation of Linux? OR if there is no other better way to set up the network? Again, thank you for mentioning the steps you are talking (including the page number).

Have you reviewed the steps described in the official Oracle EBS Installation documentation?

  • I have an Officejet 6500 E709n fatal error on the configuration of the product during the installation

I am running Windows 7-64. Everything installs fine until what happens to "product configuration" and it sets it running its lines running for 5 to 10 minutes then I get «fatal error during installation» I had to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the software installation and each step as "Installation HP Win 7 error" suggested, but no help. During installation I stopped Norton and Webroot to run interference for them, either.

So... Yesterday, I ran the s/w "HP Update" which has successfully installed when I installed every piece of software individually.  He identified 3 updates, including some critical fixes for compatibility s/w HP with Windows 7 (issues around communications lost with the device, etc.).

Interestingly, when updates completed, "Registration of the device" page was displayed, & the Solution Center s/w now works.

No restoration of the system not required.  No BONES no issues on my end... only the compatibility issues Windows 7 on the end of HP, corrections for which are not apparently included in the V14 s/w downloaded from your site.

Bottom line, I now have a functional configuration.

  • Configuration of the network on New Installation

We recently expanded our install ESX and now would like to implement vMotion with our vCenter Server. I'm just trying to wrap my head around a good network configuration. Each server vsphere has 8 shared between the 2 cards network cards. Here's what I thought where a config, I need just comments if this configuration is good or not:

    • 0 - Service Console (on LAN) interface

    • 1 - VM LAN Access (on LAN) interface

    • Interface 2 - iSCSI (on dedicated iSCSI Switch)

    • Interface 3 - VMKernel (on dedicated iSCSI Switch)

This configuration duplicate the second NIC 4 ports for failover or load balancing. This configuration works, or what I have to do anything? I went through a lot of technical documents and that is the conclusion I came to, but I want to make sure I'm not in the wrong lane before getting everything that the installer.

vCenter has no access to the iSCSI network unless it has an iSCSI HBA or you will use an initiator of the host of VC software to access its own iSCSI storage - I

case of the vmotion netwrok that there not to ride on the same network segment iSCSI - it will be enough to find on its own isolated network segment.

One is divided into 2 equal partitions, the other has a single partition. During installation, it hangs at a blue screen during the "installing devices" and towards the end of the indicator. Removing everything except the essential, makes no difference.
With 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message States. This rising on the MS, it indicates:-stop this message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory address in which he was not allowed to access. The most common cause of this error is a bad or corrupted pointer that refers to an incorrect location in the memory. A pointer is a variable used by a program to designate a block of memory. If the variable has an incorrect value, the program tries to access memory that it shouldn't. When this occurs in a user mode application, it generates an access violation. When it occurs in kernel mode, it generates a STOP 0x0000000A messages. If you encounter this error during the upgrade to a newer version of Windows, it could be caused by a device driver, system service, a virus scanner, or backup tool which is not compatible with the new version.

I start with new parts, except the DVD & HDs drive and with a start-up Virgin & installation process. I'm not upgraded to the BONE, that's the one I was using before the reconstruction. The supplier of components, suspected of defective parts and cooperated in the provision of a set of replacement of parts, but there is no change in the problem.

Can someone explain what I can do to start?   Thank you!

  • Configuration of the network card for my installation

    Hello

Host machine: Windows-7, wireless, wired network card network card

The computer invited: Oracle Linux 6.1

I want to install oracle on my guest computer database and access it from the host machine. I do not particularly like about sharing this database with all other machines in the network (other than the host and all guest computers created on this server).

What network card configuration would work better for me?

My host computer is a portable computer. I plan on using this laptop at home, as well as the work. At home I have access to the wired network and wireless (DHCP) while at work I have access only to wireless (DHCP) network.

I tried to adjust my VM as NAT & Host-Only network. My VM guest Gets the IP address but I cannot ping the virtual machine to the host using machine VM name. If I use the IP address of the virtual machine to ping, it works.

    Thank you

    Yogesh

    Welcome to the community,

with the requirements you mention, I would recommend a host-only configuration. Due to lack of DNS resolution, you can configure the host with a fixed IP address in the Host-Only range and add the Oracle VM to the hosts of your Windows system file.

Use a fixed IP address between 192.168.x.2 and... 127, above this addresses are used by DHCP.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a USB 3 questions about the configuration of the network - port USB3 problem

Fujitsu Windows 7 laptop (all USB2)

used the full software and installed a printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series as a network printer.

The printer installed fine and don't have USB connection

All the software and scanning twain installed, so I was able to scan the copy etc.

I could browse and choose my PC from the front panel of the printer

However, it was Tuesday confirmed to a friend that their printer would work on a new laptop - bought the laptop

Fujitsu - but more recent model with 3 USB ports

I have install and then used the same FULL configured driver to be installed (V14)

selected as a network printer and then, during the installation, I get an error hardware error USB and USB drivers

All the USB works, that I've used - BUT the printer is networked and no USB used

tried to download the driver and install it-exactly the same question

SO I configure using the devices and printers 'add printer' network and installed

    I can print OK

    BUT no analysis facilities

and on the façade - cannot see the new PC to scan to

The only real difference, is that this PC has USB3 and only mine has USB2

DO not know why on a network installation USB even when searching for

It's a problem because Drivet package not has not been updated for USB3 - y at - it a patch?

Thanks for any help / advice

    Hi etaf,.

I guess the short answer is: Yes, the problem with the software and the 3.0 Port.

The long answer with a possible work around is as follows: first of all, the software looks for minimum requirements. Because the software is older, he doesn't know what a 3.0 port. You are right when you say that it should work since you do not use the USB and use wireless instead, but this is not the case.

There is something we can try, but I can't guarantee it will work. I thought first we could connect a USB cable and run the software made to force the software to see the USB port, but then the software wouldn't even get far enough because you can't plug the cable to the most later in the installation.

My second thought and most promising suggestion is to connect the USB cable (although we do normally not until the software prompts us to) and use the installation wizard HP Print to get the insteaad of software to use the CD or download from the printer driver page. Still, I can't say with certainty that it works, but I don't see why it would not be worth a try.

If it works, and we get the software installed you can convert the USB connection to a wireless connection using the software. Fingers crossed! Download and run the with the following link. Printer HP install wizard for Windows

If this does not work, or you don't want to bother with it (not worth trying), I might consider getting a new model of the printer. You can even call HP. They might be able to offer a discount on a newer model. If you are in the Canada, U.S. dial 800-474-6836 or you can Contact HP worldwide.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 + scan if there is no configuration for the network folder

The printer is wireless to my router and I connect to a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable.  The computer is running Windows 7SP1 Home Premium 64.

During the original installation of the printer 3 days ago, I used the wizard set up 'scan to a network folder' a record 'scans public '.  He created the 'profile' correctly and worked well the first time I scanned (I scanned the 3 or 4 times with different tweaks to experiment).  However the next day it no longer worked error on the printer was, 'could not connect to \\Computername\Public scan. Check that the remote computer is on. "Obviously, the computer was on, some communication problems only happened from one day to the next day, he was sitting unattended.  Hmmmmm.  Note that the option "Scan to Computer" works very well, so communication is simply no "scan to network folder" option and I really want to scan to a network folder.

I went in a private "Scans" folder on my account and created a share as 'DadsScans', creating permissions and following all the tips I've come across so far.  Then I tried many times with the wizard to create a new configuration in the profile and all have failed and yes I found the network and turned on file sharing.  Also remember that it worked fine the first night?

I tried to enter the local path to the folder (C:\users\dad\My analysis) with a share name (DadsScans), but the error message after choosing the option "test and save" was, "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Setting is not saved. »

I then tried to enter the share name directly in the path of the network folder, like "\\computername\DadsScans", but the error was "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Make sure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on... "Note, I also tried,"\\computer Address\DadsScans IP"and got the same error.

Finally, I disabled my firewall and my anti-virus in real time and tried again and got the same error messages.

Once again, my network discovery and file sharing are on and it worked fine the first time I've used suggesting that everything was fine.  What happened during the night, so that the printer and computer sitting idle?  I've changed NOTHING!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well well, after several hours of attempts to solve the problem, the 'light bulb went on!  The night after that I configured the "scan to network folder" option, we had some difficulties with our network so I reset our modem and DSL router.  Who cleaned the problems of network with devices.  It is apparently broke something with the communications between the scanner and the computer.  A simple re-start the computer tonight and wa - la, the original public scan I configure worked again and I could create new profiles of "scanning to '!

  • Need help with the configuration of the network

    Hi all

I'm confused about the installation of small for networking

The scenario is I have VLAN 1 and 2 VLANS configured on the same switch. VLAN 1 is on ports say 1-10 and VLAN 2 is on Ports 11-20. Now ESX server is connected to port 1 in VLAN 1.

Two VIRTUAL networks are allowed to talk to each other. On OS the comments residing on the ESX Server, it will accept the IP address of the subnet to VLAN2 if ESX is not connected to VLAN 2 physcially.

I know linking the physcially to VLAN 2 ESX Server will succeed, but this can be a possiblily, wont switch be smart enough to talk internally to two VIRTUAL networks. BTW, the switch is a dell connect 5448 switch.

Looking for a Virtualization Solution, look here...

    http://www.sky-v.com

I've attached a picture to show the configuration of my ESX laboratory machine. vSwitch0 contains the service console and vmkernel on the first network on the host port. vSwitch1 contains two VLAN with ID 206 and 208 on the second network port. The name I gave (Labb and server) is what identifies these VLANS when you set up a guest vm networking later. If you are unsure about the ESX networking, then it might be best to try this outside hours of office or on a separate machine. If you change the physical or virtual switching configurations you may interrupt the virtual machines (especially if of data warehouses using an iSCSI or NFS) so be careful.

  • By specifying the host name for the database during installation

I installed the database 11g r2 as a Server Desktop, anywhere during the installation it asked me to review or change the host name. It is automatically used as the host name "localhost" and wrote in listener.ora, so no other machine on the network is able to use it. Only, it connects since within the same machine. Please help how to specify the host name during installation.
