Configuration of the simulator of MD5

Hello, am having trouble lately with my simulators (OS7 and more) network access.

I have an app I want to test it with the Internet, how to configure MD5 to allow access to the network for my simulators.

Thank you.

Hello

I think that what you are wanting is the MDS, not MD5 Simulator Simulator.  The following documentation can help you with setting up your environment

  • Update the Configuration of the switch switch 2.1 Executive to 3.5

    Hello world

I tried the switch 2.1 update Executive to 3.5 and have known, that my configurations have stoppped working. To me, it looks like 3.5 dislikes my IVI configuration for switching modules.

The function check in MAX tells me that the PXI cards are not available. The first page of the configuration of the switch shows no configuration / terminal blocks.

Because the configuration consists of nine matrix with lots of report cards, I would really appreciate a way to properly import the old configurations (xml files are available)

    Any ideas?

    See you soon

    Oli

    Hi Oli,

Yes, there was a major change in the Switch Executive 3.5 - it now uses for switching NI DAQmx calls material. There is a KB document the upgrade process a simulated configuration from an earlier version, but of course, you can try the steps that make sense, too:

Import of NI Switch Executive 3.0 and previous virtual devices in OR Switch Executive 3.5 and later versions

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/1D1099A85B156FA68625778500787444

However, I have noticed that the KB Editor uses a configuration file to .txt instead of the .xml you have. I see two options here: first of all, if you have even an operating system with Switch Executive 2.1, you could probably export settings in the form of text or you can try to modify the .xml file manually to resemble the layout of the text (probably a lot of work, you would have to learn the structure of the text by trial and error using newly created Switch E.g. 3.5 configurations...)

  • How to set up Eclipse environment for configuration of the SD card

    Hello

Whenever I start the Simulator (9700 - v5.0) in Eclipse (running on W7), I have to manually select/change the directory of the SD card used by the application under development.

How and where can I change the startup directory standard for SD card features in the Simulator?

    Thanks in advance...

You can choose this configuration of your project series (right click on the project name and select (run as) then select run configuration) then select tap Simulator and create your sccard and click on apply

It is the same for all the example HelloWorld etc.

If I create the model opengl application I can run on the Simulator.

I'm sure that this has been answered, but I'm not so all suggestions accepted with gratitude

    See you soon

    Bob

    H, Bob,

Just remove the good of your bar file libbps.so - descriptor.xml. You don't need for deployment on the 2.0 OS.

If you still need to deploy on 1.0.x OS, then it becomes more complicated.

  • running an application on the Simulator

got this message when you try to run my application.

"" launch firstappproject the device debugging"has encountered a problem.

There is no such thing as the specified program in the launch configuration file.

How can I fix this so I can run my application?

I would like to begin by ensuring that you have built the version of the application you are trying to run.

    1. In the Project Explorer, right-click on your project and select Build Configurations > Set Active > Simulator Debug.
    2. Now build your project by right-clicking on your project and selecting build the project.
    3. Make sure you use the correct type of version on the Simulator going on run > Run Configurations... on the Momentics menu bar. On the main tab, make sure that Build configuration: is set to Simulator-Debug.
    4. Type a name for the run Configuration if you have not already.
    5. Click run.

  • SDK can not connect to the Simulator in VMware

My operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

SDK version: 10.0.9; Build id: v201212072306

    VMware Player Version: 5.0.1 build-894247

Video card: NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti

I'm trying to use the simulator of 10 BlackBerry, running in VMware Player, to test applications under development in the native BlackBerry SDK. However, when I try to run these applications from the SDK and connect to the Simulator, I see that even though (I think) I got the correctly configured IP address for the target, it is still listed as "Not connected" in the list of Options of the target (I don't know if this is normal or not). Then, if I try to launch the project in any case, I get the following error message:

"Unable to connect. Make sure USB cable or Wi - Fi is connected, the IP address is correct, and the mode of development. »

Sorry if I didn't explain very clearly, this is very new to me, and I still have trouble getting my head around it. I'm sure there is probably some information that I forgot to include in this post, but I will provide if I think that whatever it is.

I have been looking for solutions to the question, but it seems that there could be many possible causes, so I thought it would be better to make a new thread specifically for my situation. I tried the following:

-Check that the development Mode has been activated (it seems that it has been enabled by default)

-Ping I thought several times, was the IP address of the command line simulator (sometimes I had to meet with success, but not at the beginning)
    -Disabling Windows Firewall
    -Running a .bat file with 'ipconfig/release; ipconfig / renew. ipconfig/flushdns ".
-I check the correct target for the Simulator IP address (double-check this confuses me a little, but I think I can find it in "Settings"-> "About" simulation-> 'Network' menu?)
-Temporarily disable Avast! antivirus software to check if she is interfering
-Verification of VMware Windows were running (I think he installed four of them in total)
-Uninstall (then reboot) and reinstall the SDK, Simulator and VMware and restarting, repeatedly

-Windows asked to troubleshoot the connection of VMnet8 of VMware; He said DHCP must be enabled, but then failed to do this for me (this left me confused; I wasn't sure if it was important or not)

-Passage of the NAT VMware Bridged mode for the simulator mode, then the connectivity test (it doesn't seem to help, and the "About"-> page 'Network' in the simulation was empty), then power back up

Any help or any what pointers to additional information, I would give, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: I also cant seem to get QML previews to work at all. I don't know if it is related to my other question, but I thought it might be worth mentioning, and this is something else I would try to fix, if possible. I tried to update my drivers, but to no avail.

Solution found! I just tried to add a target in the software development kit using the IP address on 'Settings' of the Simulator-> "About"-> "Network" screen, but the target has been filtered out of the list, unless I unchecked "target filter based on the selection of C/C++ applications". If I unchecked, the target has been classified as ' 192.168.31.128 (Neutrino / x 86) ', but the Run button was grayed out when I chose it and I noticed the error message, ' binary Selected target do not match x 86 "at the top of the window." I have googled this error message and found the following (quite old) thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/QNX-IDE-target-selected-binary-and-target-...

After reading through and testing, it turns out that all I had to do was change the active configuration in the drop-down list at the top of the window SDK 'Device-Debug' for 'Simulator-Debug", little"hammer"that I needed to build to the Simulator and not a real physical BlackBerry device. Here is a quote from the post of cdamus, which is where I found the solution:

"A little trick to streamline your workflow: prospects for development C/C++ has a little"hammer"toolbar of action that you can pull down (click on the black triangle next to it) to define and build the active configuration in one step, for one or several projects."  The icon to the right (it looks a bit like a sundial) defines the active configuration, but is not build. »

I took a screenshot to help indicate the setting that I need to use:

Hope this helps you chuma and anyone else who has this problem. Thanks for the tip, cdamus!

    Thank you for your help

For some reason, the generation of Simulator orders are commented in the weatherguesser sample in the Makefile:

    simulator:
    # No x86 version of cascades available, yet.
    # $(MAKE) -C ./x86 -f Makefile all

    Simulator-Debug: Makefile
    # No x86 version of cascades available, yet.
    # $(MAKE) -C ./x86 -f Makefile debug

Simply uncomment the lines so it looks like this:

    simulator:
    # No x86 version of cascades available, yet.
        $(MAKE) -C ./x86 -f Makefile all

    Simulator-Debug: Makefile
    # No x86 version of cascades available, yet.
        $(MAKE) -C ./x86 -f Makefile debug

  • Cannot deploy/transfer to the simulator of Tablet

    Hello

I built the example application FallingBlocks and when you "run as.. -> C/C++ of blackberry Tablet OS application"it comes up with the following error in a pop-up window:

Unable to connect to the selected target: failed connection: connection timed out

I put the project "Build Configuration > Set Active > Simulator. Target presents itself as "192.168.141.128" (the address that the sim gives me when I click the icon "Development mode WE"). I can ping from my PC very well.

I found on Google that the password was suppoed to be "playbook" and saved to the target. Still does not (target shows as not connected). Went to the setting of the PB, "Securuty" and the password "playbook." Does not work either.

This way you will be sure that at least, highlight network layer and sshd on Simulator works.

  • IDE cannot find the Simulator

First off, the IDE can find my Playbook very well, but he can't find the Simulator. I tried different combinations to start the Simulator and the IDE (in order) but also to restart my computer.

In debugging, the automatic discovery of target configurations can't find the Simulator. I tried to manually enter the IP address and IP development of the Simulator as well but FDI still can not find it.

Hi, I don't have any VPN Firewall (or antivirus) software installed. The Windows Firewall is disabled. It's because I reinstalled recently in fact Windows on this machine.

Anyway, I solved my problem. I executed the script blackberry-deploy from the command line and discovered that Java was not in the PATH variable, so I added it. Now, I was able to get the blackberry - deploy to install the application from the command line with success in the Simulator. The IDE has always not able to automatically detect the device, but by creating the debug configuration with the IP of the target, the IP address in the Simulator, I clicked by error messages indicating that it could not connect, hit apply and OK buttons, and then in the project view and this is the error next to the Simulator icon has disappeared and I was able to debug in the IDE from here with happiness!

Thanks for your post, "blocking communication" made me wonder if the IDE was the difficulty to communicate with blackberry-deploy.

LESSON LEARNED: Make sure that Java is in your PATH variable!

    Edit:

You know that it is confusing to me how he managed to deploy on the device very well, because I imagine that uses the same blackberry-deploy. Maybe she called a path/to/java instead of just "java" when deploying to the device, or I'm going crazy, or maybe the IDE just need a gentle touch and randomly want to work (and then maybe have Java in the PATH variable was not really the solution to this problem; I can't say for sure)

  • Is it possible to access the files shared in the Simulator?

My Playbook application creates a few files in the shared files folder. When running my app in the Simulator, is it possible to (read) access these files from Windows?

    Thank you

First, configure the PlayBook Simulator as a target.

    1. Click on the file-> New-> other...
    2. Expand the BlackBerry Tablet OS.
    3. Select BlackBerry Tablet OS target, and then click Next.
    4. Enter the IP address of the Simulator (or use automatic detection).  Leave the password blank and complete the wizard.

Once you have the PlayBook Simulator configured as target, use the following steps to access the folders.

    1. Click on the window menu.
    2. Choose the command display see her-> from others.
    3. Expand QNX.
    4. Select target file system browser , and then click OK.
    5. In the target file system browser navigated to the folder that contains the file that you want to copy.
    6. Right-click on the file you want to copy, and choose copy to.  You can also drag and drop files to and from this window.
  • Discover the error of work when you try to run on the Simulator

I get an error when I try to run my application of Flash Builder for the Simulator:

An internal error occurred during: "Discover job."

    1

I ping the Simulator without problem.
I was at this for hours. Here is my configuration:

    -Flash Builder 4.5.1

    -Flex SDK 4.6.0
    -BlackBerryTabletSDK Air 2.0

    -BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator 2.0

    -VMWare Player 4.0.2

    Any ideas?

    I have:

-Upgrade Flash Builder to 4.6 (which took forever)
-Re-installed Air BlackBerryTabletSDK 2.0 and integrated with FB 4.6

    Seems to work now.

  • Impossible to get anything it either appears in the Simulator

    Hello

Despite the great "getting started" documentation and webcasts, can't do the Simulator to work...

I can ping, and I don't get any errors when I chose a configuration of Flash Builder series - it generates the .bar file well and gives me the following output:

    Using icon: C:\Documents and Settings\aperryman\My Documents\_UI\PlayBook Tutorial\FB_PlayBookTest\bin-debug\BB_icon_72.pngThe bar manifest file is valid.Package created: C:\Documents and Settings\aperryman\My Documents\_UI\PlayBook Tutorial\FB_PlayBookTest/PlayBookTest.barAction: Install and LaunchFile size: 145772Installing com.amp.PlayBookTest.testLlBsYXlCb29rVGVzdCAgICA...actual_dname::com.amp.PlayBookTest.testLlBsYXlCb29rVGVzdCAgICAactual_id::testLlBsYXlCb29rVGVzdCAgICAactual_version::result::

But it stops there and nothing is displayed in the Simulator.

When I do a Debug launch, it's the same thing, except that I finally get a time-out error because it cannot connect to the debugger - probably not surprising.

When I package and deploy via the command line, I get even a promising "done" at the end:

    C:\Documents and Settings\apman\My Documents\PlayBook Tutorial\FB_PlayBookTest\bin-debug>blackberry-airpackager -package PlayBookTest.bar -installApp -launchApp PlayBookTest-app.xml PlayBookTest.swf BB_icon_72.png -device 192.168.223.128Using icon: C:\Documents and Settings\apman\My Documents\PlayBook Tutorial\FB_PlayBookTest\bin-debug\BB_icon_72.pngThe bar manifest file is valid.Package created: PlayBookTest.barAction: InstallFile size: 145776Installing ...actual_dname::actual_id::actual_version::result::[-launchApp, -package, PlayBookTest.bar, -device, 192.168.223.128]Action: LaunchLaunching com.amp.PlayBookTest.bXAuUGxheUJvb2tUZXN0ICAgICA...done

    but nothing in the Simulator.

The app is just the sample helloWorld application and works very well when I compile it as desktop AIR application.

I'm on Windows XP and I don't have the admin rights.

Does anyone have an idea what else could be wrong?

    Thank you very much

    Anna

    Finally got it works!

Apparently not that if anyone else had the same problem, but just in case, here is what does the job:

I just made a deployment command line with the flag set - devMode (without it I got the same results with Flash Builder or blackberry-airpackager, i.e. no error, but nothing appearing in the Simulator):

    >blackberry-deploy -installApp -devMode -device 192.168.223.128 -package PlaybookTest.bar

And the strange thing is: now that it's installed, I'm able to run my FlashBuilder debug configuration and it installs and launches new construction without problems!

Anyway, thanks again to all who have tried to help - I learned a few things along the way...
