• Satellite Pro P300 (PSPC5E) - driver Webcam open fail on Windows 7

  I installed the RC of Windows 7 64 bit on my Satellite Pro P300 PSPC5E and I have problems with the configuration of my webcam and microphone.

  I tried to install the Wizard software for the camera, 64-bit (windows vista) to configure the webcam but I get an error message with "Webcam driver open fail. Restart camera or computer.' nor a camera photo or computer restart the job. I get the image in Skype, but I can't change the settings or so (dark) and the microphone is much quieter, so it was on windows XP, it is set to its maximum.

  Is there a solution for this problem? I hope so :)

  I think there is no solution for this problem at the moment, because you are using a Release Candidate of Windows 7 and at the moment there is no official driver for Windows 7.

  Have you tried the driver of Windows Vista so that s what you can do. Alternative visit you the Toshiba us page (http://www.csd.toshiba.com) and search for driver of Windows 7 beta. Maybe it works.

  Well, I think if the problem works with Camera Assistant Software, it s a problem with Skype. So, check the configuration of webcam for Skype and make sure that you use the latest version of Skype.

  When you start your laptop Camera Assistant software stop and try to configure the webcam in MSN. I deleted the Camera Assistant software from the boot list and I don't use any but I can use it with Skype whenever I want.

  It also works with MSN. Just start the Audio and video installation and in step 3, select Chicony USB 2.0 Camera Cam that you want to use. It works with my MSN.

  I have a Satellite M200 series and my Webcam Chicony works very well with YM. When I tried to use it on Skype, he'll tell me that "Skype has not found video source preferred.   I think that Skype is one of the best applications to work with the webcam. I use it on the first day of purchase and there is no problem at all.
  What you can do is to restart your laptop, switch-webcam help software, start the Skype and try to configure the webcam in Skype settings again.

The base for the hardware drivers are standard for windows for the camera works, however it seems to work in programs like Skype and through web browsers. I know, there was a program that allowed the user to take pictures and video clips, but Dell doesn't seem to allow me to download it. I also can't seem to find a Microsoft software which (according to my computer) has been the manufacturer.

  I just want to be able to take pictures with my webcam again and am not suggesting that I have to go to 'new' Dell or download delldock. I tried to go to dell, if they have the software for the webcam they did almost immposible to find, and they seem to have no care that I would want to.

  I try to get my PQF75A - 04600Q to display the 3D, is the software that came with the laptop: Toshiba Video Player 3D and Corel WinDVD BD. Not seem to work, as I understand it the webcam is supposed to analyze your eyes as you watch 3D, this happens automatically, or as in the thread linked that I have to configure the webcam (if so, how?.).

  According to the linked thread, I need to download 3 files, Blu - ray Toshiba player, X-Tune utility and Nvidia drivers. I downloaded these but not yet installed. (seems to me that 3D should work "out of the Box" without having to install additional programs).

  Thanks Brian, I managed to fix it myself by accident, whatever it took, it was when choosing installation of the webcam on Skype option, I selected default webcam instead of Youcam, and then uninstalled Skype and restarted my laptop and reinstalled Skype on their site, the work done. Hope this might help someone else amateur in the future.

• Impossible to install the driver of Logitech Webcam - error code 19

  Hi gurus,

  I just buy Pavilion m9400t with Vista x 64, Dual Core Quad Q6700.

  Install Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 without problem, so I decided to upgrade with the new webcam (Quickcam communicate Deluxe) and the beginning of the problem.  Install the new driver/software without problem, after reboot when I try to use the Webcam webcam cannot be used..., check the Device Manager for this webcam and found he said one! status, with the following error code:

  Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (code 19).

  Tried the following, but nothing works:

  1 uninstall and reinstall using the new driver from Logitech.

  2. Uninstall and reinstall in safe mode.

  3. Uninstall and reinstall using the generic driver

  How can I get rid of this error code 19?

  In this issue fixed. Used regedit folder specific location and delete the LowerFilters entry, exit and it will get rid of the error code 19 from Device Manager, not even require a restart.

  I get the Webcam work properly in Fedora 22 core 4.0.6 (Incidentally, kernel 4.11 does not yet exist, so what kernel do you use )
  I suggest therefore that you check the software for the Webcam settings is not simply disabled:

  F2 at the STATION
  Go to advanced > system configuration
  Make sure the Webcam is turned on.

  You should be able to click on the action button and search for new hardware in Device Manager. Have you replaced any hardware on the laptop?
