    Hi anne-grethea26777033,.

You can do CD player as your default application by browsing in Edition > Preferences > under categories, select the "Général" and at the bottom of the window, you must select an option which reads "set as default PDF Manager" under the label of startup application and click OK.

Let us know if that helps.

  • How can I configure Adobe Flash Player as default program to open SWF files?

    Overview of basic

I have this work very well to my laptop at home, but I need this working for school projects.

Whenever I want to open a SWF file at home, I just double click it and open it in Adobe Flash Player (Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22) and I have no problem!

However, when I'm at school I have to run in Internet Explorer, the file SWF, Adobe Flash Player IS installed, but the SWF files are opened directly, they are opened in Internet Explorer.

    At home

If I right click on a SWF file at home and select 'Open with', and then "choose default program...". ", Adobe Flash Player is already there under the name" Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22 ", so I can select the default value. (On my laptop at home)

    At the school

In school, so go to "Open with", then "choose default program... ", Adobe Flash Player IS NOT there, only Internet Explorer and other programs in the box of other programs. (On my laptop to school)

    Question

How can I assign Adobe Flash Player as default program to open SWF files (on my laptop to school)? If I select "Browse...". "and go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash there is no file with a description of" Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22 ", is the file for the program located somewhere else, or I'm just not properly looked into the record?

I really need these files open in Adobe Flash Player directly and not in Internet Explorer (I know that you can set the view to 100% and do it properly sized)

    Thanks to all who help!
-Charlie! (Yes I know, that I need not write this in a forum)

The standard Flash Player is a browser add-on and not a standalone player.  So what in fact opens when you open a SWF file at home?  Flash Player projector?

If so, you must also download in your school, to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, then make the file association.

  • Windows 8 question "creating associations in default programs"

When I click with the right button on anything and want to send by email, it tells me there is no e-mail program associated with this function, and to create an association in the default programs control panel. When I'm here, it gives me four choices to click on, making no sense at all to me.

Can I have some details on the creation of an association to my Microsoft"live"account, which is the only email I have.

Windows 7 automatgicly whatever it is attached to my outlook, Hotmail or live email which was all the same anyway, I think that

Unlike Vista and WinXP, Win8 nor Win7 includes a default email Client. [App Mail of Win8 is not a Mail Client.]

If you want to MailTo and send to functions work properly, you will need to install an e-mail Client (for example, Windows Live Mail [free];) MS Outlook [non-free]) and then check that it is registered as the default to e-mail in CUSTOM (<>) the section default computer Configure programs.

[Yes, it's very confusing. [What were thinking?]

Take a look at the control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations and set the correct program for a .jar file.

    4. Windows update itself

    5. I was always able to change the default program, until Windows has created an another update (which still live with my settings).

When I right click > Open with > choose by default the program give me this vague and frustrating error message indicating 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

This is a load of ponyfeathers, because I am the only user and administrator of my laptop. I tried also to the solutions, but the error is apparently used in multiple areas of screw - rises of Windows. This error applies to all files.

I am still able to go to administrative tools and change the defaults from there, but I'm not THAT tech savvy and I don't like playing with the pieces dark and deep programming from my laptop.

    Hello

Restore the system to the point before you install this update from the Windows Update.

I recommend you to change the default setting for Windows Update:

Open the Control Panel (Display icon)and click the Windows Update icon.

In the blue left pane, click the change settings link.

Changing current configuration in ' updates ' on ' check the updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. '.

  • Default program error

I recently installed the latest version OS.  I had installed CS6.  Now when I try to open files that have been associated with older Adobe products, I can't put the new default version.  I uninstalled the old version of CS6 and reinstalled the new versions CC little success.  I was able to get the indd file to open as a result, but I can not JPEG files to open in Photoshop unless I have to open in the software.  I want to be able to double-click a jpeg file and opened it in Photoshop.  When I try to set Photoshop CC by default, I get a configuration error message, error: 1. I am on Windows 10.  Please, as I have already uninstalled and reinstalled without change.

It seemed to me set myself.  I checked the registry and there was a remnant of the old CS6 in there, so I found this place and remove these remains (on my drive, not in the registry).  This allowed me to set the default program for Photoshop CC.  Phew.

  • When I try to change the default program for opening a specific file type in the "always use the selected program to open this type of file" highlights not.

So, I can't change the default program. How can I get it to show?

    Hello Swansong,
It is also possible for Panel Applications - define how Firefox handles different types of files

  • In "set your default programs" under Win7, file associations of Firefox are altered.

"Set your default programs" in the control panel of Windows 7, Firefox appears in the list of "Programs" on the left. But its icon is that of Windows Media Player.

After I click on the name of the program (Firefox) to see the details on the right, I noticed that Firefox icon becomes that of Windows Media Player, also. And "Mozilla Corporation" becomes "Microsoft Corporation".

If I click on "Set this program as default", files of these types are opened by Windows Media Player, no Firefox:
    htm, html, shtml, xht, xhtml.

So I must manually associate these file types Firefox to "associate a type of file or Protocol with a specific program.

To resolve this problem, should what registry entries I change?

You can try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, perhaps as an administrator.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
