Configure the NIC NAT on linux-vms

If I convert a vSphere ESX from Vmware Workstation linux vm and set the nic to "nat", that it is not changed in the vmx-file destination, he is always satisfied. Desktop virtual windows it works fine.

Regarding regular weekly export - you can do this by using Converter SDK to create a script or a program that invokes a separate Scheduler.

    If a virtual computer uses a bundled pair of network adapters, I should add the two network adapters, the settings of the virtual machine?

    If a virtual machine uses a pair of network cards grouped and I see 2 network cards in the actual virtual machine, I need to assign an IP address to each NIC?

    Sorry for so many questions, I'm just getting confused by properly installing network cards.

    Vmnic0 is 1 Gbit/s and the others are at 100 Mbps.  Using 2 different physical switches?

    If so, I would put all 3 VMs on vSwitch1.  When you create each virtual machine you can assign just a single vmnic to it.  Then bind the vmnic for the VM port to vSwitch1 Group (which is called Terminal Server now).   Virtual machines will not be limited to 100 Mbps when communicating with each other.

    I have a problem with some mail servers reject some of our mail, because our mail server address goes off on is not the same as it is resolved to.

    This is because I have configured the following:

    (which covers the outside)

    then:

    Global 1 interface (outside)

    (giving a different address for the Interior post outdoors)

    I thought that the static method would cover bidirectional nat'ing.

    I don't know how I can fix it.

    Yes, I think that your best option is to assign a public ip address dedicated to the mail server.

    However, you can try this configuration using "NAT"policy:

    sender of the access permit tcp host Exchange1 list any eq smtp

    NAT (inside) 2-list of access mailer

    Global x.x.161.101 2 (outdoor)

    To obtain external access to comments (access the guest from the host), you must configure the IP static within the guest (Linux) as below and restart the network (service network restart)

    eth0 is a dynamic IP (DHCP) to get wireless internet access

    eth1 is a static IP address

    Hello, first let me say that I am relatively new on ESX Server and so the question I ask here may seem trivial but I looked through the documentation and other threads and that you have not found quite what I'm looking for.

    I have an ESX Server 3.5 with a number of production virtual machines running works very well.  I need to install a second NETWORK adapter because my use of the network will go through the roof, once I convert a production server used in a virtual machine on this machine.  I have a server Dell PE 2950 and I bought an Intel Pro/1000 PT dual port PCI-e adapter that is on the list of hardware supported.  In the reading I did, every reason to believe that when I set up the server, the new network cards will appear in the VIC where I can assign to a new Vswitch and so forth, so I get it.  What I don't see in the VIC is a way to specify the NETWORK adapter settings.

    The problem is that the switch I connect to, put in place by our network management staff, will not be DHCP settings of NETWORK card for me, I have to manually configure the IP, subnet and gateway until I can start talking.  When I initially installed ESX, I was able to provide all parameters of NETWORK card installation - which is not the case now with the new NETWORK card and the operating system all this up and running.  How do I do this?  Thanks for any help.

    Adding another physical NETWORK card to your vSwitch will make this new Teddy to comply with policies of vSwitch.  In particular, the load balancing algorithm will determine how the additional bears will get used.  By default, this is done with switch port ID.  This means that each vm NIC that feeds, will choose the next available bear to talk about.  The virtual NIC will essentially be Robin and choose the next Teddy online to talk it through and will so remain like that until a failure condition occurs, or the virtual machine is restarted.

    If you know a particular VM is a high user of I/O, and you want to separate its traffic from the rest of your virtual machine, and then create a new portgroup on vSwitch0, assign this new portgroup 3rd Teddy and use the other two as before.  In addition, in your regular exchanges, remove or make sleep 3rd Teddy.  In this way you completely isolate the heavy vm from the rest of your systems.

  • ASM / ME Smart Copy - preventing the backup memory on Linux VM disk?

    I have a cluster of two servers to Windows Server 2012 Standard edition running Hyper-V, with a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV), who lives on a SAN EqualLogic PS6500E network.  I have configured the EqualLogic HIT / tools ME 4.5 on servers and can perform a regular Smart Copies of a collection consisting of all the virtual machines on the CSV file.  There are eight virtual machines now, of which five are Scientific Linux 6.3 or 6.4, and the other three are different versions of Windows.

    When I make a copy of Smart, Windows VMS are aware of the VSS application, they tell their applications to pause a snapshot and fortunately continues to run throughout the active copy.  However, the Linux virtual machines (which are not aware of VSS) this is impossible, so they save their RAM disk and enter a "Saved" State paused.  Each server VM puts its VM Linux sleep one at a time, depending on whether virtual machines are spread on both servers, or focuses on a single server, it ends up taking up to four minutes to perform the entire Smart copy, including recovery of the saved state.

    Linux VMS are inaccessible on the network during almost the whole duration.  All SSH connections for these VMs may expire if the TCP Keep Alive packets are used, which is usually the default in most SSH clients.  Even if I disable Keep Alive, the session expires always and firm happens to me trying to type while the window of Smart Copy.

    We have people from everywhere in the world connected to the server at a given time, it is so hard to find a better time to perform snapshots that minimize disconnects.  I would prefer not to have to explain to people that they need to disable Keep Alive just for these servers, or for tools like screen to keep a removable session (if it is a wonderful tool).

    Is it possible to disable recording of the RAM of the VM disk and the suspension of these virtual machines?  I think that the ASM/VE version has this ability, but I can't find it in ASM / me.

    You have opened a folder with Dell?

    For starters I suggest move Linux virtual machines to different volumes CSV and do not include those in ASM / ME snapshots.  You could line them up the table for the moment.

  • Duplicate the NIC GUID under Windows 2008 R2

    I have created a model of Windows 2008 R2 and you can "Deploy VMS of this model" with her.

    I can also use the comments customization feature to configure the virtual machine created from this model, and they get properly configured (joined to the domain, key license added, etc.).

    The problem is that when I go to create a cluster with these hosts, it fails with the following error:

    When I do a "get-wmiobject win32_networkadapter | "fl name, guid" in powershell, I see that the network cards on the two hosts have the same GUID.

    If I make a sysprep on the host computer before making a model then I get the unique GUID but customization of VMWare does not work.

    Either I shouldn't need to do the sysprep command myself (as for some reason, it's on the vcenter server) or the unattended answer file, I use when I manually sysprep has misconfigured options.

    If anyone has encountered this error and is there a solution outside "deploy model, then manually uninstall and add network adapters.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    The last step of the bulding your model must be to remove and uninstall your Windows Server's network card.

    Before you convert your virtual machine to a model you add a new network card, to make sure that each virtual computer you deploy from your new model will have its unique NIC

    I want to configure a guest computer with 2 network cards, one for LAN private and one for the external LAN.

    Right now, the problem is that I don't have that 1 useable public IP I can use on the external network address.

    Which means that it's either I configure the public ip address on the NIC host or on the comment card.

    May I just know set network bridge on the guest computer and configure the external static public IP, and then click map NETWORK address of the host machine, I set up the ip address. Will this work?

    Yes, if you use a Windows host, just uncheck the TCP/IP on the bridged card.

    Or use NAT, then both machines can connect to the internet with a single IP.

  • Configure the second channel of TDS 2012 scope

    Howdy,

    Our laboratory has recently acquired a range of Tektronix TDS2012 dual channel and I'm getting so he can play nice with Labview 8.5. I downloaded the plug-and-play drivers and the accompanying screw sample without problem. I connected the scope via a GPIB-USB-HS adapter. PC running Win2k.

    The screws of the sample and some of my creations seem to be great with the exception of a question to work. I can't for the life of me get the vertical scale on the second channel to do what I want. When I use "Example VI" of the driver and set the Volts/Div to anything for a reading of CH2, changes the CH1 setting (?), it does indeed read CH2. I can't find where I could adjust the parameters of CH2 regardless... the vi "Set up display" seems to be independent channel.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Matt,

    I just downloaded the Tektronix TDS 200 1000 2000 project series Style Driver of instruments here, and there is no screws with the word "vertical" in them.  To make sure that you use the style of the project pilot, go to C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\instr.lib\Tektronix TDS 200 1000 2000 series and confirm that there is a file of Tektronix TDS 200 1000 2000 Series.lvproj it and that the screws are in folders, not a Bachelor's degree in law.  The VI that you will use to configure the vertical range is Set up Channel.VI.  Pay close attention to the VI and control documentation.

    Hello, I want to configure the keyboard backlight Timeout on Dell Latitude E6440. I use pre-installed Linux OS Ubuntu 12.04.2 Dell.

    He wrote how to change the keyboard backlight with tool CCTK lighting level. I downloaded CCTK for Red Hat Linux and looks like it works fine on Ubuntu too. With that - token orders that I am able to change the level of backlight on the keyboard which is good.

    But I still don't know how to change the keyboard backlight Timeout. Backlight is still off after 10 seconds. Is there some special - token for this timeout setting?

    According to other messages, looks like configring timeout to 5 minutes could be possible, as there are Windows applications that could do that (for example Dell System Manager Application checkpoint)

    Dell has now released tool called smbios-keyboard-ctl [1] for configurting keyboard backlighting (timeout and trigger). It is in repository libsmbios [2]. I tried and it works very well.

  • Configure the module of firepower ASA IP address

    today I tried to configure the IP address of the late ASA power module. But unfortunately I failed. The firewall is in the direction of the situation and also do have not any router on the LAN. So, I stop the management interface and configure the IP of firepower on the network server management. But unfortunately I can not ping the gateway IP address that is actually one of the interface of the firewall. It is the series x 5525 firewall. So this isn't a any interface dedicated to management of firepower. It would be nice to know where I made the mistake? I recharge and recovery of the module and I consider the State as always state of recovery. So my question is looking for there is a problem with the module itself?

    Sari,

    Even if there is not a physical module services fire power management port, it uses Management0/0 port to connect to the module of SFR.  If you like on the same VLAN as your server VLAN on the SAA plug Management0/0 port on a switch that is sharing the network server VLAN and give the module SFR an IP address on the same subnet.

    Make sure that you remove the statement under interface Management0/0 nameif. Here is an example:

    BACS is a gui tool and will not run on a Windows 2008 Core installation.

    Any way to do it? Is there a command line utility? Documentation on configuration files (so they can be changed)?

    Of course, all this can be configured via ASDM.

    Looking at the second example you posted above, they point you first change:

    ACL split of the tunnel for the AnyConnect customer

    This Configuration > remote access VPN > network (Client) access > AnyConnect connection profile > (chose the profile and select Edit) > (choose "Manage" next to group policy) > Edit > advanced > Split Tunneling > ensure that the policy does not "Inherit" but rather "Tunnel network list below" > Unselect "Inherit" next to the network list, then 'manage '. Enter your networks you want in the GUI in this dialog box. Click OK all the way back to the main window ASDM and click on apply.

    You then change:

    Crypto ACL for the tunnel from Site to Site

    To do this, go to Configuration > VPN Site-to_site > connection profiles > (choose your profile and select edit) > add the VPN client address pool to the list of local network between protect networks. Yet once, click OK all the way back to the main window ASDM and click on apply.

    Then, allow the

    ASA to redirect back on the same interface traffic it receives

    .. is defined under Configuration > Device Setup > Interfaces. (check the box at the bottom of this screen). Click on apply

    Finally, there is the NAT exemption. For which go to Configuration > firewall > rules NAT. Add a NAT device rule before rules network object with Interface Source out, Source address your address pool VPN, the Destination address to include remote subnets and Action is Static Source NAT type source address and destination address remaining as original (i.e. without NAT). Once on OK all the way back to the main window ASDM and click on apply. Save and test.

    I have a client with a DMVPN network. Here is a simple drawing of installation:

    First I set the router og BRANCH1 config: BRANCH1 - Config.txt

    What the client wants is simple:

    Host 200.200.200.200 reach the host 192.168.100.2 on port 3389.

    So I thought to do the static NAT like this:

    IP nat inside source static tcp 192.168.100.2 3389 100.10.10.2 3389

    but it does not work because the BRANCH1 router is configured with FVRF who wants to say outside interface is in a VRF and local area network inside interface is globally. I couldn't see any traffic coming to the server (192.168.100.2) but I could see the translation in the nat process.

    So I tried to configure the virtual interface of NAT (NVI) I read that NVI works best in the VRF environment. This time with these lines:

    Then I finally got some entries of traffic in the server 192.168.100.2. See the Wireshark log:

    So far so good but but... the router sends an ICMP destination 13 unreachable code to the server:

    I guess that is because the router performs a search in the global routing table instead of the destination FVRF.

    Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

    Maybe a solution to HUB1 for this so everything is managed central, what do you thing?

    I can't spoke1 config. But first the routing needs to work and I would like to try a leak of the VRF the way in Global.
