• Cannot lock preference status plugin

  Hello.

  I have two plugins for online banking that I want to stay on mode 'request to activate' (1 for "plugin.state.npsf_bb" and "plugin.state.npsf_abn" preferences in all: config) but manage to reposition themselves on "always on" (value 2 for preferences) every time I restart Firefox.

  I had posted this problem before (here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1019124) and even found an acceptable solution, that is was to use the addon of CCK Wizard (https://addons.mozilla.org/pt-BR/firefox/addon/cck/) to make an addon (XPI file) in order to lock these two preferences and then install it. It really worked, but finally I found that it was this addon to measure what was causing a malfunction in many Google services (could not use drive or create new events in the calendar, etc.). So now I'm looking back a new solution.

  Given that the solution was to simply block these two preferences, I searched a direct means to do and found this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences, I followed through. I created a file to mozilla.cfg with this content:

  and it installs to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox. Then created a local file - settings.js, with these contents:

  Then I restarted Firefox, hoping that it would work, but it didn't. I did something wrong? Or maybe these instructions exceeded about new versions of Firefox?

  Hi, your mozilla.cfg file seems fine. can you try to change the local file - settings.js (directory\defaults\pref\ install firefox should be the right place for it) and just put these two lines in there:

  pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
  pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

  This method does not work with firefox7.0, the browser does not launch when I change firefox.js
  I need to have settings locked to prevent users to modify in the field. Is there documentation for how to do this?

  You should not modify the omni.jar file, but up local file - settings.js in the directory by default/pref in the program folder Firefox where you will also find the file prefs.js - channel.

I found 2 different Cert Matrix with different information and announcement [ID 1364453.1 on March 13, 2013 is an older cert matrix-oriented.  Please see below:

• Why my preferences of MacBook Air (Yosemite) do not show all of the options that show on my MacBook Pro (Mavericks)?

  Each time, click on "Firefox - preferences", I get only a partial view of the options that are displayed normally on my MacBook Pro (Mavericks). If I click on a different subtopic, preferences to close and reopen the preferences, I get a more complete screen on THIS subject, but never have I could see "saved passwords" or "Change Master password" on the MacBook Air.

  This seems very odd. It would be useful to see what you're talking about. Can you post some screenshots of the respective preferences and describe the difference you see?

• M9452p Pavilion lock, restart the HP splash screen and freezes

  My HP Pavillion M9452p primer, I can connect and I ran a program to copy a disc.  the system froze, then went through the process of restarting and froze on the splash screen for HP.  Rebooted the system by closing doen ran diagnotics and received a message "BIOS4 Boot error, contact the HP support" what dio I need to do to fix this?

  Tried system restore and system recovery using the F8 key start, but he did not, it ran very slow and then rebooted to start HP with the F10, Esc, F9 and F11 options and froze both times.

  I just replace the HD two months ago, and it works very well. I just removed all the component and repluged everythignback to gether, ran diagnotics and everything that happened, but still have the same problem with freezing and restarting the HP splash screen.

  Your question is not clear. Is this something that happens, or something you're worried might happen?

  Whatever it is, the answer depends on what you do and how your email clients are set up.

  If you use POP in Outlook Express (really? "It's a very old program!) so he can delete messages from the server. You should be able to leave messages on the server, or you can switch using IMAP.

  Just looking for messages in your Web browser will not erase all messages, but if you delete a message there, again whether or not it is also deleted on any of your computers depends on whether these computers using POP or IMAP.

  Note how the ITL slot number is used within each row entry to effectively lock the line (in this example, the transaction in the ITL 2 Groove Locks the 3 listed ranks).

  If another transaction happens, it will capture a different connector of ITL and the number allows to lock all other lines in the block if necessary.

  Windows 8 and 8.1, Firefox runs as a traditional "desktop" application Mozilla is working on a version of Firefox for the latest style application, applications Windows 8 and 8.1 sometimes called modern, but the project was abandoned the year last for the reasons described in this article: https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleas.../metro/.

  I do not use Windows 8 very often, but when I do, it's very confusing to have two different interfaces with various menus and toolbars for IE and different metaphors to access them. From my point of view, sticking to a single interface is probably better for users, even if it's annoying to have to go to the start page of the office. Perhaps when Windows 10 ships which would be a good time to review the evolution of the double personality of Windows.

• Every Web site I try to go to (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. which are safe) says that site is dangerous and that I must accept the certificate).

  Yesterday my Firefox seemed to spasm and I think I got a virus (whenever I hit the 'home' button which is google.com for me, send me to this weird website I knew wasn't sure). I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and ran the virus scanners, but nothing was found. After restarting Firefox, every Web site I try to go to gives me a dangerous error and I have to give each site a security exception, even for safe sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.. Once I got on Facebook, everything is in HTML format and I can't use it at all, I tried Firefox reboot/uninstall/reactivate once again, but nothing helped. I checked my firewall and nothing came.   I hope you can understand something I like Firefox, but it's very frustrating that I can't use it and that it happens. I also use Avast! Anti-SECURITE but I'm fairly certain that has no effect on this problem. As I said I also ran malware and virus scanners but nothing came harmful.

  Try to disable the Avast web shield and try to go on some safe sites where you met the "untrusted connection". You can also follow this link for the other common troubleshooting steps: error "this connection is untrusted" message - what to do.

  You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

  • MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
  • AdwCleaner (for more information, see this other AdwCleaner download page)
  • Microsoft safety scanner
  • Anti-Rootkit utility - TDSSKiller
  • Hitman Pro
  • ESET Online Scanner

  If your home page has been changed, and you do not have the suspicious extensions:

  • Tools (or

    

    ) > Addons > Extensions

  You can use the Search to reset tool to reset your home page, the new tab page and search bar default back. The extension to uninstall then once that these preferences are reset.

• How can I reset the page that appears when I open a new tab "white"?

  MySearchDial reset my settings in several browsers. I deleted the program, I set my home page and removed the site from the list of engines of research possible, but when I opened a new tab "in white", it always opens with MySearchDial features. I tried the SearchReset extension, it did not work. I tried the subject: config newtab url, that does not work either.

  How to reset it?

  Could you take a second look at everything: config?

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) If you check the browser.newtab.url preference, what is he on? These are the typical things:

  • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
  • Blank tab = > subject: empty
  • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
  • Any other page = > full URL of the page

  If it is already set correctly, but still, you get a white page MySearchDial, one of your other extensions may be the problem.

  You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off...

  If it indicates that it is locked or refuses to save the changes, Check Control Panel, uninstall a program for a program called research protect and remove that. Locked preference may also indicate the presence of a mozilla.cfg file. If you think that, please post back for more information, by simply removing this file can cause problems.

• disable the plugins or the value 'never activate' on multiple clients

  I'm having a problem with the Java Deployment toolkit plugin, it continues to cause errors on my computers on network. I can set it to "never activate" on a single target, however, I need to push this setting to all computers on our field. I am open to any options, command line, script, gpo, copying a file from config to all customers, pretty much anything someone things will work. Any help that someone can provide would be most appreciated.
