• Satellite L500 will not start - Windows issue?

  My nephew is the owner of this laptop 1 year old and asked me for help yesterday.
  There's an eggtimer permanent on the mouse cursor and clicking on trackpad or any key does nothing.

  I ctrl, alt, del to open, and then select the Task Manager, but then the thing freezes. place then the only solution.
  I could not access my computer or start / programs, etc. by clicking on anything does nothing.

  I started in safe mode with network and updated & ran several programs - super antispyware, spybot, ccleaner & anti malwarebytes. the latter find stuff but unimportant or whatever it is was reported by none.

  It has none of the recovery disks because none was provided. He never made the recovery discs as advised when it is new, so I tried to make a series of discs, but it was impossible to read some files and I had to abort the operation.
  I have downloaded and run mechanic system but this found no real problems.

  When I try to open my computer, the answer is a long time to come and opens a page of help windows in m/s only. He advises the system restore but there ar no restore points available.

  When I tried to launch avg he behaved "very odd" to say the least. I uninstalled that too.

  I uninstalled several toolbars and games stuff that my nephew had but for all my efforts, above the situation remains the same. I'm trying to do a windows repair disk and will try that to see if it helps.

  I put the disc and restarted with poor results. He asked me to reinstall windows, and I agreed. I then, a long time later had a message saying that the computer has an error unexpectedly., restart to complete the installation.
  When I click ok to restart, the message is repeated. I retried several times - same result.

  I tried turning on off and powered by pressing f1 through f12 in turn. no difference.
  I think I need a new disk (64) of windows 7 or a recovery dvd set of toshiba.

  Any thoughts on recovering from a bad situation would be welcome.

  Yes, I agree with you at this stage that I would also try to reinstall a new Windows system or Toshiba Recovery disk image
  Usually the new OS install helps determine what s wrong here, from my point of view, it looks like the BONE was confusing to and installation of the operating system might solve this problem.

  But as you know, it's just a theory. I think that if would not help you with new installation OS (recovery), the next should be a RAM and HARD drive test

  If you do not uninstall IE7 before doing the repair facility, Windows and IE are now in a "confusing" situation (if you see symptoms revealing or not).

  If this is the case, your only recourse now is to back up your personal data (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this stage) and then format the hard drive and do a clean install of Windows. Please note that another repair facility (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

  NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. • Updated recovery on computer now having various problems

  After I did the recovery on my computer, I was doing all the updates. Up to this than the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and NET Framework 3.5 (KB951847) could not update, done very well.  I posted this problem a few days ago "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86."  The error Code is 0 x 643.

  So far, the only response was a copy of what I wrote so I found this and thought I would try this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100/ which was to uninstall all NET frameworks, use the utility and reinstall.  However, NOW I get as much install NET Framework 1.1 SP1 and security of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 update (KB953297).

  Failed installation of .NET Framework 2.0.  Here is the message I get: error 25015.Failed install the assembly
  "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility.dll" due to the system error: 0 x 80131107

  Should have uninstalled IE7 until you've done the repair facility. Since you have not, WinXP and IE are in a "confused situation" (while you managed to install IE8.) Your only recourse to repair the damage done a clean install.

  Backup personal data, then do a format and clean install of Windows. Another repair facility will NOT fix it!

  I'm about to finally take the plunge and install a fast SSD on my PC as well as a few other updates (specifically, card motherboard, RAM and CPU). To get the most out of the SSD, I would spend my Win7 OS installation (ideally, installing new but holding to my files).
  I'm just wondering the best way to do it because I'm worried microsoft key that I think I'm installing a new PC (because of the new material) and gives me an error because she thinks I'm trying to install on two computers at the same time (when it's actually the same computer and I'm just moving disk hard/change of motherboard). Should I install the new SSD before the change of motherboard, remove the old installation of hard drive manually and then install the new motherboard, or is there a cleaner way to do this?

• PC not recognizing not no bluetooth on TX

  Everything else works on my new TX geat. Bluetooth HotSync is perfect. E-mail and surf WiFi are spotless (thanks EPA). I can send individual files to my PC via Bluetooth. However, I can no longer send files via Bluetooth from my PC to my TX. I get a window message, stating: "Bluetooth Serial Port Service is not found on the device (my Palm TX here name)." I fear for my confusing situation in original installation of connection attempts, I may have accidentally delete a connection or changed option name. Whatever the problem, how can I get this installed option in my TX as there are times I want to just send individual files without a full hotsync action?

  Sometimes the secret is revealing HotSync manager on your computer to 'prepare for a Wifi HotSync' and then do another one before trying wireless cable.

  I'm trying to combine two external midi channels, but it does not work.

  I can put them in the same group, I have check the volume, but it still moves only a fader when I'm not touching her.

  Be careful with the external MIDI in general channel strips. In the mixer, they resemble other Types of Channel Strip, but they are not. External MIDI channel strips don't "carry" any audio signal, the only signal of MIDI. I guess that's maybe the reason why the Faders group.

  It's a bit of a (misleading) confused situation, because there is no indication in this regard. The other grouping settings, however, work on all the channel strips: editing, automation Mode, Record, color, Zoom, track to hide track.

  Don't use Solo and Mute for groups or external MIDI channel strips, they are incompatible between buttons on the tracks and channel strips.

• Someone else do my iMessages?

  Hi there, I have a somewhat confused situation going on that I suppose is solved but I want to just make sure by getting a few a second opinion on the issue of people who can understand a little better I do. Me and two family members have iPhones and iPads and then I have an iMac and one of them has a Macbook Pro. We use all iMessages and e-mail to communicate with one another. Now, we all had phone numbers associated with our iPhones and therefore associated with our iCloud accounts we had when contacts each and others on all of our devices.

  Recently, we moved and changed our phone numbers when we got new business services. Unfortunately and foolishly me, I forgot to update our phone numbers on our contact lists, that especially to send iMessages to each other icloud email addresses and rarely relate to each other, so I've just forgotten about it.

  Then the other day, one of them thought they were sending me an iMessage, and they got a response that said it was of me to someone telling them they didn't know who they were and asked them to remove their contacts. I looked into this for them and discovered that they had accidentally sent this iMessage for my old phone number, that was always associated with my account. Since then, I removed all the old all our contacts phone numbers and updated their.

  Now what I wonder, and what concerns me is, that person who received this false iMessage will receive all messages we send to each other while having these old numbers associated with our telephone accounts? They will always receive new messages, or more important, they have access to one of our old messages between them? Also, they actually receive all the messages we sent this time together? I wouldn't guess since they only said the other day, but that is not always tell me if they can end up making all messages now that they have received only one the other day.

  Some clarification would help really. Thank you in advance.

  You should immediately do the following:

  • Make sure that each individual has their own unique ID of Apple.  Stop sharing identifiers Apple immediately.

  I have a portable Satellite L10 151 that charge at a snails pace, cleaned disk defragmented, free of unnecessary programs and still it takes half an hour to load in and connect to the Internet!

  Satellite L10 is old enough laptop model and I don't think you can order original recovery media more, but you can check under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
  Maybe Toshiba service provider in your country can also help in this regard.

  At least for the installation of the OS you need not Toshiba disk recovery.
  You can use the Microsoft installation disc. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.

• LabVIEW 2012 Patch f1 crashes

  I just installed LabVIEW 2012 and unfortunately I've met a few worries.

  I got one "Installer has stopped working" when I installed device drivers.  But the installation seems fine.  LabVIEW began and MAX would open up.  I wasn't looking to connect to any material yet.

  When you try to install the fix for the f1, LabVIEW crashed again.  Net subsequent attempts the same thing.

  Has anyone else had this problem with the patch?

  It's on a Win7 with 8.6 and previously installed 2011 LV machine.

  

  Even if accidents are reported, all seems to be installed correctly.  It just seems like Windows is confused when the installation program stops.

  This seems to be a problem with Windows on my machine and not a problem with LabVIEW.

  Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you if you have Vista 32-bit or 64-bit installed.

  Unless you specifically ask for Vista 64 bit, it normally has 32-bit version of Vista installed by the computer manufacturer.

  If the installed Vista 32 bits, use the Ultimate Upgrade 32 bit DVD.

  You upgrade from the version of Vista installed > get it operational > insert the upgrade DVD into the DVD drive > follow the instructions.

  If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 update > uninstall SP2 from Home Premium > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

  And run the upgrade of a family race Premium.

  32-bit to 64-bit and 64-bit to 32-bit is a clean install, not an upgrade, if you have different versions of ILO.

• Game controller hardware problems

  I have a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad controller and it worked for a few days. Then, suddenly, my laptop stopped recognizing when I would plug it into my computer (Note: I have not received the message "USB not recognized", it does not simply his or work). There is no data from the hardware controller in my folder of controller and despite the relocation of my material, not even will try to read the controller. I contacted Microsoft hotline and ran the automated troubleshooting Service. My controller has worked... but only for about four seconds, then more nothing. Tried to run help desk automated by Microsoft again, this time it has nothing and I am at square one not having the hardware at all. I know this is a rather confusing situation, but I hope someone can help me. I can't get the halp from anywhere else. Believe me when I say that I have tried. Thank you in advance.

  I don't think he did his PC a "domain". This would require a server operating system and the domain controller.

  I don't see any problem with your configuration. 'Administrators' are a group of users, not a user. 'Administrator' is a user who belongs to this group 'Administrators' and therefore share the same privileges. There is no user named "admin" unless you create.

  If I understand correctly, you can connect to the administrator account. So, you don't miss any privileges or access to the computer. If you want to use a different account for yourself you can create and use that one.

  I ask for your specific problem. You don't tell him, at least no that looks like a problem. You seem to be confused about the installation, but I see nothing non-standard in your description apart because the administrator account is usually "hidden" after installation.

  You mention an internet problem. This has nothing to do with the configuration of your account or the "working group". And what is the problem with having backup privileges? I don't understand your remark on your child's account. Sounds more like you're talking about an account on a site, with Xbox, or almost, but not with local accounts. A local account didn't need "activation".

  I think you should talk to your brother in case you have problems. It seems to be knowledgeable enough to fix everything for you.

• Vista x 64 network sharing files/printers problem. Unable to connect.

  Hi people.

  I have a desktop machine with a 120 GB hard drive that I partitioned in two 60 GB slices.  the D:\ Part of the disk has XP top pro and the x 64 Vista Home Premium C:\ portion.  Two operating systems are configured to have a permanent mapped drive to X:\ is a machine on the network that I use to store music, downloads, etc.  Both also have a permanent mapped drive to Z:\ which is the C drive of my laptop.  Basically, all three machines hooked together so that my main computer has access to the files on the other two at the click of a button.

  It has been working great until Wednesday night.  All of a sudden the operating system Vista doesn't let me connect to one of the other two computers via mapped drives.  I tried to go through the web browser (\\server\folder\), but that no longer works.  Network discovery is turned on, the network is private.  I have not changed the settings at all, but I can't access the files that I used to.

  Here's what left me speechless.  If I boot the machine with XP (same model, different partition) it works fine.  Computer of my brother x 32 Vista Home can plan and access the other machines as well.  It's only my x 64 Vista Setup, which prevents me from having access to mapped drives.

  I tried everything I can think of.  I reinstalled the drivers ethernet, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the network card.  I ran a correction of Winsock program to try to reset my TCP/IP.  I don't know what else to try.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

  Edit: I forgot to mention: this is what got me really confused: since my installation of Vista I can map a drive to the computer of my brother and use it fine.  The laptop and I try to access the other machine running XP pro.

  Aggro, do the following and paste the result here:

  1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
  2. Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
  3. At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER: net use

  4. Click the icon in the upper left of the window, click on edit, then click on select all, press the Enter key.

  5. By pressing CTRL + V on your keyboard to paste the content in your response.
