Game controller hardware problems

I have a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad controller and it worked for a few days. Then, suddenly, my laptop stopped recognizing when I would plug it into my computer (Note: I have not received the message "USB not recognized", it does not simply his or work). There is no data from the hardware controller in my folder of controller and despite the relocation of my material, not even will try to read the controller. I contacted Microsoft hotline and ran the automated troubleshooting Service. My controller has worked... but only for about four seconds, then more nothing. Tried to run help desk automated by Microsoft again, this time it has nothing and I am at square one not having the hardware at all. I know this is a rather confusing situation, but I hope someone can help me. I can't get the halp from anywhere else. Believe me when I say that I have tried. Thank you in advance.

Hello BloodyShadow,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

The question you posted seems to be hardware related. Unfortunately, we are unable to help with changes to the hardware.  Please contact the manufacturer for assistance.

I am trying to install a game controller Xbox 360 on my PC under XP sp3. The Xbox controller does not appear in Device Manager. I downloaded the Windows Xbox 360 Controller For Windows, but when I try to install it, I get an error message indicating that I need to SP1 or SP2. I am running SP3.

I talked to technical support from Microsoft and Xbox support (each twice today) and all I get is the phone number for the other. Help!

  • Gamepad Xbox 360 recognized as "Not specified" point in Control Panel ", as opposed to game controller"

OK, I followed the appropriate for a Xbox 360 controller installation procedures, obtained the file from the internet site http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=Gaming&type=Gaming&sku=JR9-00001, and I installed it as indicated. It is not recognized as a game controller and now, not able to be used. I'm trying to use it via plug-and-play (hooked to a USB 2.0 port) so he could appear, but it won't work, period.

as well. It certainly won't hurt to get out your problem to the largest now it will be? ;)

One of the suggestions I've read was to try another USB port and try the steps listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/906347

  • Gamepad Xbox 360 as seen in "Device Manager", but not recognized as "Game controller" and will not be installed all the drivers

My problem is very similar to the one raised here:

However, the OP in this question unfortunately never had answer to his question.
When I plug my Xbox 360 controller on my laptop, my computer recognizes it as a device, but does not recognize it as a game controller. Instead, my device is listed under a category called "Other devices", and the drivers are not installed (he gets the little warning sign yellow after the icon).
I've tried right-clicking on the device, by clicking 'Uninstall', out in him plugging, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories, restarted my computer and each unique combination of these things.
I tried to talk to an Ambassador of Microsoft, who told me to update the driver and manually make a 'human interaction device', but unfortunately it did not work.
I called Support of Windows games, who gave me information from these links:
    support.Microsoft.com/kb/908888
    support.Microsoft.com/kb/906347
Outside of download the drivers manually in the form of 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' (which I already have), I wasn't able to try all of the hotfixes listed in the guides, because my camera is not listed as a joypad or human interface device. It is simply listed as "Xbox 360 Joypad" and it is listed under the heading "other devices."
It seems that there is just something wrong with my USB and it's just is not installing drivers properly, but this isn't the case. I plugged many other devices, including an iPod, a mouse and an external HARD drive, which all had their drivers properly installed and works great.
I also know that it is not a problem with the xbox controller, that I plugged into another laptop (also Windows 7 64-bit), as well as pilots very well on the other laptop.
I'm really puzzled by this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please do not repeat the information or links I listed here, or who was in the last question which I quoted above. Thank you for your help.

UPDATE: I finally got to work. Everything is beautifully detailed in this video from Youtube:

    Here's what you do:
    1. plug your device and go to Device Manager
2 right click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject) and click on "Uninstall".
    3. disconnect your device
    4. If you have not already done so, download and install the appropriate for your device 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' program
    5. plug your device back on and go back to Device Manager
6 right-click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject), but this time click on "update driver software".
    7. click on "browse computer driver software.
    8. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
    9. Select "Microsoft Common Controller" and then select your device. Have it install this driver. From there on, it should work on.

Who is the manufacturer of your controller to play station 3?

Please check if you see play station pilots in the manager game controller properties HID-compliant devices.

If you are able to see the drivers for your game controller device manager I suggest update you the drivers and check if that helps.

  • Qosmio X 500 - 11U restarts when games & cooling system problem message

    Hello

I have a Qosmio X 500 - 11U PQX33E, bought in the summer 2010. Since 2012 (1 month after the warranty ended) he started to do restarts without reason, but I gave much attention to it, as it happened rarely. However, after 1 year things are worse and I ended up having a cell phone game that I used only as a PC Web browser. From time to time, I blew the fans to clean... Finally, I decided to fix it.

I gave it to a technician, he cleaned, replace the dough thermal CPU - GPU and replaced one of the fans who did not work properly.

Still nothing has changed. I tested it again (by running windows experience rating), and it crashed as before.

I made the big decision to go back to factory settings and I made a clear installation of all components of the system (including the stuff of all the toshiba).

Restart again for the note windows. ... (the same thing happens when I run any high graphics games)

I have flashed the bios to v2.90

Restart again for the note windows. (the same thing happens when I run any high graphics games)

In addition to the above, because I did the clean install of the system, I started to get the message ' WARNING: a problem with the cooling probe happened... return it for service.

I can hear the fan is working but when I run the diagnostic tool for Toshiba, the CPU usage is at 50% and the fan to 0%, even in use high power (yes I changed both power settings)

Any help would be much appreciated, because I really feel VERY bad after paying 2500 EUROs for a gaming computer I can not operate for its intended use.

    Thanks in advance

However when I try to run all 3D graphics applications (and some flash feature facebook games) it blocks (auto-off)

The laptop turns off automatically in order to avoid the damage hardware parts... which can occur due to a higher internal temperature...

You mention that the fans do not work

(use of fan is at 0% because my fans are now connected to the USB ports

I suppose that the temperature rises and the laptop turns off because cooling fan use in 0%

To me, it looks like a typical hardware malfunction and from my point of few service technician must verify and fix it... here in the forum, we can only talk and discuss possible solutions but finally the hardware problems should be fixed by engineers of the service...

  • Game controller will not connect with game

I bought Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator and a LogiTech gamepad Pro years 3D extreme when I had a Windows XP computer, and they work very well together.  I've since upgraded to a Windows 7 computer.  I updated the driver for the joystick, and the operating system recognizes (when I check the properties, I can move the stick or press buttons and see the answers on the screen).  But I can't get the game to respond to the gamepad.  Any ideas?    When I click on settings on the game homepage screen, a box pops up saying "your joystick device has changed"non typeable characters"to"various non typeable characters".»  You want to reset the control assignments? (recommended) "the characters change every time I do this.  I tried answer Yes and then after a few tries I answered no.  Same results, the joystick is not in the game anyway.  I looked in the CombatFS.cfg file and found similar characters in the section of the controller (LastJoystickName = 'non typeable characters') thank you, John

  • Error on game controller wireless for My Logitch F710 Xinput mode "the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)". "

Original title: driver for Windows game controller problem

My Logitch wireless gamepad F710 does not work laptop with my HP Pavilion dv6-6017tx PC Xinput mode (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit). But it works very well in mode Dinput. When I have this device in windows in Xinput mode displays an error in the window of the driver in detail which 'the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)'. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver of Logitech software, but the problem is still there.

I tested this device to a desktop PC (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit), but this PC detects F710 controller using Xinput, working absolutely as planned without any installed driver software, provided by Logitech. In the details of driver in the PC window, it shows that his taking the pilot as "XBOX 360 Controller for Windows" and the driver file is xnacc.sys in system32 folder and when I searched my system32 laptop dv6 folder I found this file is missing and I n, t know why.
I also tried to control windows search for drivers online, but windows has failed to find it.
So what should I do now?
    Help, please!

Thank you very much for the reply.

    I thought about it finally.
I installed the driver for the controller XBOX 360 for Windows on microsoft's site and installed. Then plugged the device and select the driver manually installation option and wanted Xbox 360 controller for windows driver in the list. Now my controller F710 currently also works well in mode Xinput and Dinput.
