• Pavilion 20-b313w: confused about what I would do on my PC down performance.

  I am very confused on what I should any performance drop in my PC. My desktop is an all-in-one HP Pavilion 20. The original operating system was WIN 8, current OS WIN 8.1. I have received my computer 08/11/13 and modernized to 8.1 WIN a few weeks later because of the boredom of his pop - ups. The first installation of the failed but the next day he installed on his own and was a success. Not for long after that I started having performance problems. Late development, freezes, screens white or black, poor and choppy graphics audio and app crashes (that have been fixed under the warranty of my HP). A few months after the 8.1 update, I received a message to HP Support Assistant, stating that my computer model is never tested with 8.1 and which could be the cause of performance problems. It also comes with a sweep of compatibility which was of no use since 8.1 was already installed and recommended that drivers become available or uninstall either wait.  I got tired of waiting so December 2014, I made an update to 8 and does a not reinstall the 8.1. I'm back from my excellent performance of computers. Unfortunately that was short-lived due to 8.1 it's self without an option to refuse, automatically reinstalled just a warning that in 2 days it will restart my computer to complete the installation. Happened last week and now my computer is back to low performance once again. The sound is choppy (especially when you're playing), after a few hours use a buzz began, initially it is jerky (on & off), then it becomes constant. Also slow loading and especially the cursor of the mouse that happens on and off delay. I checked Task Manager one day when that was happening and the disk and CPU were turning red and goes up to 100% and the memory of peaks as high, but not up to 100 (between points THAT MEM is still 30% maybe it's due to the recent installation of the Sims 4.  Today, I had a critical event arrives with the core power and my computer restarted, it's self. These are the questions that I need some help fixing, but I have questions that I hope can be answered here or is in the right direction for an answer. (1) how or where I can get a straight answer to my computer with 8.1 compatibility. When I got technical support from HP that I asked about the message, I got on their part and told me to ignore the message because they are compatible. But after I refreshed to WIN 8 the message came back and there was a note at the bottom of the page indicating that the message might be old and possibly there are drivers available. So I'm confused, if the two are compatible then why I experience the same problems that the message was listed as signs of incompatibility? (2) when I use HP Support Assistant to check updates no downloads are available, but when I use the driver and software page for the HP downloads by product website. It shows 10 available for audio download driver, driver chipset, graphics driver, network driver, BIOS, Diagnostics and multimedia software.  I should download them all or do I need to check them one by one to determine if they are old or new. (3) when my computer is idle why are background tasks performing analyses that show on my action Center icon but stop as soon as the cursor is moved? and how do I identify what background process & services can be completed or suspended to improve performance while playing the great resource with games like the Sims 4? Here is some info on my PC and I thank you for taking the time to help me.

  I suggest that you update your drivers of Windows 8 for version 8.1 of Windows drivers.

  I had a quick glance and 8.1 Windows drivers are all new versions.

  Start with the Chipset, video, then the others, but no BIOS [yet].

  Reboot after each installation.

  If the performance seems better after update your drivers to the Windows 8.1 versions then I suggest you also perform the BIOS update is also available.

• Confused about what a tool of liberation, I need.

  I got a little confused on which version of the tools DPS that I need to install on my computer to make sure that everything is compatible.

  I work for a large company and we have different magazines by using different versions of DPS.  I need to download and publish a folio to another office.

  Is it important that they use a different version of the DPS tools? (They built the app for R23 R23 tools and I create a magazine using R21)

  I do update my tools to ensure that everything is compatible or can I download and setting the folio generator to create a folio R23?  I will not change any of the indesign files.

  If I need to update my tools to R23 so what version in this archive ( http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/collection.jsp?collID=4 & platform = Macintosh ) should I download?  They are marked with a completely different naming convention. (ie 1.14 etc.)

  It's all a bit confusing.  Is there a chart anywhere that shows which versions correspond to which releases?  It would be really useful.

  It is important to understand that the version of the viewer can display older versions of folio but not newer. For example, if you create a v23 Viewer application, it can display v23 and previous folios but not v24 and later versions.

  It is also important to understand that you can update your tools to the latest version, you can target a specific version when you create (or modify) folio. For example, you can update the Folio producer/Folio Builder v24 Panel tools and create a v23 (or earlier) folio. You can target v20 or later versions. If you have an older Viewer (such as v18), it becomes more complicated, but you are not in this situation.

  The key is that you upgrade your tools to the latest version and create folios corresponding to your version of the Viewer.

  Since I read adout the new creative cloud I'm confused about what will happen to my license for Adobe Lightroom. Will they remain still desktop apps as well or I have to pay for an annual license, if I want to use new versions of Lightroom?

  I am a casual photographer and I like to use Lighroom for my photos, but I don't think that pay for an annual license because I'm not spending a lot of time, image-editing.

  Can someone clarify this for me?

  5 Lightroom does not have subscription only, you're fine. There is no sign that it will even happen in the foreseeable future either.  It's just the ex-Creative-Suite that all talk.

  Target market of Lightroom is different from the Creative Suite/Cloud. CC is a good deal for the majority of its base of users (next door), while the majority signed without major complaints.  Lightroom has a huge customer base amateur, and they would be much more difficult to convince us to go subscription only. They would be likely to lose most of customers of Lightroom at the moment, and they are not completely stupid.

I followed the instructions to make the template and editable regions and I get the error the talks from trying to save an editable region within block-level elements, but I do not understand how to fix it.

  Areas I'm trying to make editable are my navigation bar on the left that has been created in a table as the tutorial said using the block function in CSS styles.  As I used it, not make the editable region? My navigation is locked or I'll be able to change the navigation from one page to the other buttons?  I have read so many things I've confused myself.

  The excerpt that gives a good description of how repair if you have not used the field block to the style of the page, but I'm confused about what to do as I did?

  First off you need to create a model of 'master' NOT an index page. The index page is created from the "master" template

  Explained simply: build a page as you like in Dreamweaver, and save it as a template for the folder root of your site. File > save as template

  Then you can create pages of your site from the "master" template File > new > template > choose Site folder > select model > create

  You now have a new page, based on the model of 'master '. Save it with the name index.html in the folder of your site.

  Your 'master' model has no editable now region then open it in Dreamweaver. Insert your cursor in the table cell where is your left navigation and then select themark along the bottom of the Dreamweaver window. Choose now your navigation overall is in the table cell to make you an ' editable '.

  Go > insert > template objects > editable region. Name LeftNavigation, and then click ok. You will see that your navigation has now been wrapped in an editable region. Save the model of 'master' and the changes will be reflected in the index.html page, which was created from the "master" template

• MBP 2009 HD dead-ish - what to do next?

  So, apparently, the hard drive in my MacBook Pro mid-2009 is close to death.

  When I try to start it in safe mode finally gets about 1/5 of the way through the progress bar and then stops.

  This disc is about 6 years old and has been widely used (and doesn't have a lot of space on this issue rest, I know..) so I'm not surprised, he's in trouble.

  -Something like Disk Warrior conceivable would be able to repair any corruption or other issues?

  -I am able to use the feature to reinstall OS X utility recovery section to install a new copy of the Mavericks? Which would be just a waste of time even if I can do it?

  -I don't have access to other Mac and don't have the original 10.6 install DVD. I have to install 10.6, 10.6.8 and then re - update download Mavericks (or more)?

  -I realize that the current content on the disc may be roasted. I have a time machine backup of a few months ago.

  -I currently have no bootable external drive/device.

"I have the screwdriver for the rear screws and also a T6 for the reader).

  Install a new drive.  The Crucial SSD will be compatible.

  You will need to install the original OSX and then switch to Snow Leopard (10.6.8).  Will then allow you to install a more recent OSX.

• I'm confused about my billing

  I have Adobe Creative cloud and I went to the student. I understand that the $12 plan / monthly is only for the first year, but when he jumped to $65 per month which was a pretty big leap (especially for someone who is still a student) and so I called Adobe customer service. I was told that I had changed my plan in October, something I never remember to do, but the representative I spoke with said she would get back on the plan of the student for $21 / month, and I will get a refund of $27,23. I realized that I was not getting a full refund because I was already at middle of January so I was fine with that too. The same day I receive a supplement of $21,23 and no refund. I remind them again and asked what was going on and said it was a policy of the company to charge the monthly fee for the new plans from the outset. I asked the officer if that's the case, why I do not get a full refund for the $65 I paid this month. She said it was because I was already in the month of January and this is what she was allowed to give me. I asked what month the charge $21.23 is for. She said it was for January. I told him that he didn't add up because according to its share of January has already been used and paid and cannot be refunded but I'm being charged for the total amount of January again under the student rate she changed her of me. • Confused about Directx 9 .0c

  I installed Mass Effect for PC yesterday on my Windows 7 PC.

  After the installation is complete, a popup opened asking me if I wanted to install Directx 9 .0c, as it was required for the game to run. I chose not to install it while I'm confused about Directx backward compatibility.

  First of all, is the Setup installation Mass Effect offers, the same as the Execution on the site of Microsoft Directx end user?

  Second, if the version of the installer from Mass Effect differs from Microsoft, I'm sure the Microsoft runtime more.

  But I do not understand what the runtime needs to reach - it allows me to play the old Directx 9 .0c and previous games on my Windows 7 PC, but still be capable of Directx 10 and Directx 11 games as well?

  One last thing - the Mass Effect system requirements say that my sound card must be compatible Directx 9 compatible .0c. How will I know that my sound card is compatible? I ran dxdiag but he didn't tell me whether or not my sound card is compatible.

  In short: install it.

  DirectX 9 is separated to DX10 and 11.  And some games require DX9 optional components that they want installed. Paul Smith - MVP for Windows desktop experience... I crawled off NNTP - for now.   The PC becomes stuck in a perpetual loop and restarts again and again for hours if you let.  The "TAL. ERR"is a pain in my neck.  If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Among other long blocks of code, this block of code just keeps repeating.

  Dell computer has a hard drive that is partitioned as three logical drives. A partition is for the operating system. Another is for a unit of "Recovery", containing all original applications and the operating system and the smallest is partitioned to contain some utility Dell, which no even saw.

• BlackBerry smartphones, I am new and confused about things 'connection '.

  I am a new BlackBerry - I have a Curve 8320, I am a small business owner, and I'm not connected to a BES. I use the BB Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook and to back up my BB and I did pretty well on most things, but I have still a few things that I leave me puzzled. In this forum, I will ask my "questions of confusion" about data options.

  I have a data plan "pay as you go" with AT & T, my provider, because there is practically no cell reception at home where I work. (I not use my BB for email since I was at my computer most of the time). I have a home network set in place and I have incorporated a router that supports wireless. I have connected a netbook to the wireless network and used to surf the Internet, so I know that my wireless connection works. I also managed to create a wireless connection on my BB to this network and on the home screen, it appears the name of my wireless network when I am here at home, so, I know that the device is connected to my network.

  BUT I don't think that I'm really using my home wireless network... I tried the other day browsing the Internet, and then AT & T told me that I hired data charges - I thought that I should not have if I wasn't using their network. Either I am wrong all assuming that they don't charge me if I use my network or I have something set up properly on my BB... someone can provide some guidance?

  Then, I don't really understand what BIS... I searched through the KB and couldn't find something that sets actually BIS... could someone please explain what BIS?

  Finally, can someone please explain the difference between "mobile network" and "wi - fi"? Apparently, if I disable "mobile network" I have no connection at all, including wi - fi. Is that the way things should be? But, I can turn off wi - fi and always get a connection (if I go out too far from my house, South possible and face).

  Thanks to all who responded... I now have a much better understanding of the work of the whole thing "data". I disabled my LAN connection, which should avoid all charges. The part that confuses me the most, is that AT & T said would not have to pay to use my own wi - fi, but... it doesn't seem to be the case. So, McDonald's and Starbucks will work very well for me.

• Confusion about the requirements for the 2015 CC software

  I currently have Windows 8.0 (64 bit) which is so satisfactory and stable.  I have not upgraded to 8.1 Windows because I can't install same normal updates for Windows 8.0 without experiencing freezes system that only restore points can heal.  So for now, I would stick with what I have.  But the problem is the confusing requirements for various programs within the pile of creative cloud applications:

  Premiere Pro: Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) or Windows 8 (64-bit)
  Photoshop: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1

  Illustrator: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows

  Dreamweaver: Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows

  Hearing: Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 (64-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit) or Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

  So what I'm confused about is the fact that Windows 8.0 is not listed for Photoshop, but Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are.  Does this mean Photoshop CC 2015 is not compatible with Windows 8?  And that means that Premiere Pro is not compatible with Windows 8.1 since only 7.0 (SP1) and 8.0 are listed, I would have preferred the upgrade of software CC WITHOUT update Windows since I am picky on my installation of Windows 8 stable pipes now solid as a rock.  Fortunately, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and hearing are compatible with all three, it seems.

  Can someone clear up the confusion, please?

The screenshots, it shows differ slightly from my interface, and I was wondering if maybe something has changed with the new version of Dreamweaver, or if I don't have a pref set correctly. Just below my tab for index.html are the buttons "Code, Split and Design." His shows "Code Source" followed of a button to the name of the css file.

  His splitter window resulting shows the design on the right side and the code css on the left. The best I can do is the design on the right and the code for the index on the left page.

  What I understand here. Any help would be appreciated.

  You have not set the file check_cs5.css to the HTML page.

  The rule of #main_image has been created inside the HTML document rather than in the style sheet external check_cs5.css. See the definition of the rule in the new dialog box CSS rule.

• Confused about the extension of the Sprite class

  I learn programming with object oriented ActionScript and am confused about the class Sprite and OO in general.

  My understanding is that the Sprite class allows you to group a set of objects that you can manipulate all the objects at the same time.

  I explored the Open Flash Chart code and note that the main class extends the Sprite class:

  First of all, I would not use this approach in your table constructor. Setting the width and height only makes sense if you adjust the width and height of the existing content, and the table (Sprite) does not at this time here. If you want to give the table a 'size', you could do it like this:
