Confusion of access VPN site to Site list

Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me explain access lists when the configuration site to site VPN tunnels. Basically, I used this guide to create nearly a GNS3 lab to make me understand IPSec etc tunnels.

http://commonerrors.blogspot.co.UK/2011/09/site-to-site-VPN-CLI-configuration-on.html

It is this config works and my confusion is on the ACL they use. There is no mention of the internal subnet 10.1.1.1 on US router subnet but Pakistan a range 172.16.x.x internal in ACLs (but no it's external ISP IPs)

Why it works? This configuration is incorrect?

With these tunnels VPN site-to-site, what the source/destination IP address ranges should be in them?

Any help or information would be great.

Thank you

Paul

With the crypto ACL, the source must be the local LAN subnet and the destination should be the Remote LAN subnet. Crypto ACL defines interesting traffic that you want to encrypt remote and local peer.

The external interface of the router (generally the one with the public IP address assigned by ISP) will be used to encrypt the crypto ACL and is defined by the command "set by the peers.

Hope that helps.

  • A Site to remote access VPN behind the same public IP address

Got a problem quite stupid.  We have a VPN from Site to Site configured for a new data center, which will be responsible for general traffic management.  In addition, some users need to use use a VPN client to access certain areas.  The firewall at the Office only has a public IP address, so the two will come to the Site to Site VPN for remote access from the same source.

This seems a problem with legacy Cisco VPN clients because encryption card matches the entry VPN site-to-site, even if they use VPN clients.  A good/simple solution to solve this problem?

Some newspapers (198.18.85.23) is the address public IP for the office and the tom.jones is the user.  192.168.1.0/24 is the pool of the VPN client.

    Hello

Don't know if this will work, but you can try the following configuration (with the rest of the VPN configuration)

list-access CLIENT VPN ip enable any 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 is the VPN CLIENT address

    card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 set peer 198.18.85.23

    card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 set ikev1 transform-set ESP-AES-128-SHA ESP-3DES-SHA

The idea would be to have the ACL matches the VPN full Tunnel that the Client attempts to establish. (destination "any" from the point of view of the customer, the ASAs view source)

I tested briefly on my own SAA by connecting from an IP address to which the ASA offers free VPN in L2L. But as I don't have the operational L2L VPN, I can't really verify the VPN L2L at the moment. Thus, certain risks may be involved if you can afford it.

  • AnyConnect VPN full tunnel could not access the site to site VPN

I have a set of AnyConnect VPN upward with no split tunneling (U-turning/crossed traffic), running 8.2.5 code.

It works fine, but I want to allow customers to AnyConnect VPN site to site, which I was unable to access.

I have two 881 routers with vpn site to site between them. I have a static nat on the router for a Web server that is accessible from the internet. I can't access the Web server through the vpn. All other traffic is fine its VPN. I think that there is a problem with the NAT. Here are the relevant configuration lines.

    access-list 100 permit ip 192.168.150.0 0.0.0.255 any

You should be able to access the web server with its IP private (192.168.150.2) through the VPN connection.

If you just add the VPN and the road map, try to clear the existing translation and see if you can access it via its private of the Remote LAN VPN ip address.

    Hello

I have previously edited the my initial response was in fact not necessary since you were actually using full Tunnel

EDIT: Actually just noticed the the VPN client isnt using Split Tunnel. Its Full Tunnel at the moment since it doesnt have the "split-tunnel-policy tunnelspecified"

So you don't really have any of those.

Please mark the question answers and/or assess response

    Ask more if necessary

  • VPN site to site access via a VPN client

    Hi all

From our headquarters, we use a vpn site-to-site to connect to another site and it works great.

We have just configured the VPN client on our headquarters, remote VPN user can access the LAN in the seat.

We need the remote user can also access the LAN on the other site, but it does not work.

The site to site VPN and VPN client are configured on the same device, using even outside the interface.

Vpn client address pool is already included in the address that is allowed to go through the site to site VPN.

We would like to know if it is possible to access the site to site VPN, connecting to the VPN client and when the architecture is as above?

in the case where we use different devices and different internet connection for client VPN and site to site VPN, we can access the other site by the remote user VPN LAN?

    Kind regards

Since you already have 10.13.0.0/16 in your site to site crypto ACL, which already includes the pool vpn so you need not configure it specifically.

You are missing the following command:

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

ACL split tunnel should be standard ACL as follows:

    access list ACL-CL-VPN allow 10.13.0.0 255.255.0.0

    access list ACL-CL-VPN allow 10.14.0.0 255.255.248.0

  • ASA5505 VPN Site to site and limiting access - URGENT

I'll admit knowledge limited to the front, so forgive me if I look like a fool.  The company that I work began recently to hosting our application for some of our customers. to do this, we are renting rack space, connections and equipment in a data center.  We must send data to our request for an application in the center of data of our customers.  They have an ASA 5505.

Our data center will support VPN site-to-site and nothing else.  Our client find it unacceptable, citing security and the inability to restrict access to only the small number of servers, our application needs to access.  I have to be able to talk intelligently and with the facts (and, preferably, examples of configuration on hand) with their staff of the IOC and network in the next day or so.

The ASA 5505 can be configured for a VPM from site to site with our data center which limits our application server to access a limited set of IP addresses within their network?  If so, this is quite easily possible?  Anyone done this?

    Thank you

    Leighton Wingerd

    Leighton,

    Sounds complicated problem - but are simple actuall.  Remember that a VPN ensures the transmission from site A to site B on a precarious environment - internet.  For example, you can DEFINE the traffic that goes through the VPN, you also DEFINE the traffic that will launch the VPN tunnel in the first place.  With these statements said - using your supposed information you would create valuable traffic as the exact traffic you want to allow through the vpn;

    access-list permits datacentre_2_client tcp host 1.2.3.4 host 192.168.1.2 eq 1521

And you will use the same ACL to set which can cross traffic.  However, I know for a fact that an ODBC Oracle connection uses more than one TCP port!

The confidentiality of data is something else - that your customer needs to define requirements.  An SSL connection is fine and dandy - you will just be to encrypt the traffic twice!

  • Cannot access remote network by VPN Site to Site ASA

    Hello everyone

First of all I must say that I have configured the VPN site-to site a million times before.  Stuck with it. First of all I can't ping outside the interface of my ASA remote. Secondly, VPN is in place, but no connectivity between local networks

Still, I can't ping ASA remote outside from outside of the Local interface. And there is no connectivity between the 192.168.80.0 distance and local don't say 192.168.1.0. I have run out of ideas

Would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance...

If the tunnel is up (phase 1), but no traffic passing the best test is the following:

Add order management-access to the Interior , and then try to PING the intellectual property inside ASA counterpart.

inside x.x.x.x ping --> x.x.x.x is the IP of the ASA peer inside

The test above shows if the traffic passes through the tunnel (check encrypted/decrypted packets of sh cry ips its).

    Test on both directions.

    Please post the results.

  • VPN access to site-toSite to servers of HO with remote site with overlapping network...

    Hi all

I have an obligation to create a tunnel vpn site-to-site on ASA 5510 from a remote location to my HO, I have already other site to site tunnels are on the rise and running on the ASA. This is what my remote site got the network address that is part of a subnet used in HO(192.168.10.0/24). My requirement is only my need to access remote site couple of my servers in HO, who is in the subnet 192.168.200.0/24.

Veuileez help how can I achieve this... your advice at the beginning is very appreciated...

    Thanks in advance
    Mikael

    Hi Salem,

I think the installer at your end is a bit like this:

You want the remote location to access the subnet 192.168.200.0/24 behind the ASA HQ servers. In this case, you can NAT traffic from the remote site to a different subnet when you go to 192.168.200.0/24.

i.e. the 192.168.10.0/24 subnet resemble 192.168.51.0/24 when he goes to 192.168.200.0

This can be done by using political based natting:

    permit access-list policy-nat ip 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.200.0 255.255.255.0

    public static 192.168.51.0 (inside, outside) access-l policy-nat

In the encryption of the remote side access list, you will have:

cryptoacl ip 192.168.51.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.200.0 255.255.255.0 (this is because the remote side will see 192.168.51.0/24 and not the 192.168.10.0/24)

Similarly on the end of HQ the accesslist crypto will be

    XXXXX 192.168.200.0 ip access list allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.51.0 255.255.255.0

Please try this and let me know if it helps.

    Thank you

Access Manager will not see this site, supervisor password needs.  This page has been blocked by your approved sites list

We have forgotten the password. is there a way to reset the password or to disable it without the password?

    Hello

Download and run the http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/conadvpass.html program (if you are able to access the site)

    If not, perform this task:

"If you have forgotten the password of Access Manager, you can remove it by accessing this folder in Regedit (don't forget to back up your registry first):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

    CurrentVersion\Policies\Ratings

Select the key called icon in the right pane and press on delete. Close Regedit.

Now, you can start Internet Explorer and goto tools, Internet Options... Select the content tab and click on disable. When asked a password, do not write, just click OK. This will disable access Manager, since nothing is more a password. You can enable it again as soon as invent you a more memorable password"

  • VPN site to Site with client access VPN

I have a pix 500 series configured with access to the VPN client. When I set up a site to site vpn to a remote location, access to the customer no longer works. If I remove the vpn site to site, the vpn client works again. I tried the MDP and the CLI. Someone could look at my config and let me know what I'm missing. See the two configs attached.

    Thank you

    Lost in VPN

Ah, I missed that. You can change the States of card crypto for virtual private networks to be on the same card encryption like this...

    mymap 20 ipsec-isakmp crypto map

card crypto mymap 20 match address ipsecvpn

card crypto mymap 20 peers set xxx.xxx.100.180

transform-set set mymap 20 sha - crypto card game

map mymap 65535-isakmp ipsec crypto dynamic outside_dyn_map

client card crypto mymap RADIUS authentication

    mymap outside crypto map interface

    or

    outside_map 20 ipsec-isakmp crypto map

card crypto outside_map 20 match address ipsecvpn

    card crypto outside_map 20 peers set xxx.xxx.100.180

    transform-set set sha - game card crypto outside_map 20

    map outside_map 65535-isakmp ipsec crypto dynamic outside_dyn_map

outside_map the RADIUS client authentication card crypto

    outside_map interface card crypto outside

  • ASA 5510 vpn remote access - must now be added vpn site-to-site.

We currently have a configuration of remote access vpn and all this hard work.

I need to configure a vpn lan lan 2 now.

Can someone point me to the documentation on that? I used the command line to add a site to site and wrong on it and disconnected me when I applied the crypto map to the external interface. Do I need another card encryption or should I use my existing?

    Shannon,

Please see the below URL for more configuration information. Even if that configuration is dynamic to static IPSEC, you can use the concept to build the Tunnel L2L with static IP.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805733df.shtml

Let me know if it helps.

  • Help with 1921 SRI Easy VPN remote w / Easy VPN Site-to-Site access

I have two 1921 ISR routers configured with easy site to site VPN.  I configured VPN each ISR ACL so that all networks on each site can communicate with the private networks of the other site.   I have a 1921 SRI also configured as an easy VPN server.

Problem: when a remote user connects to the easy VPN server, the user can only access private networks on the site of the VPN server.  I added the IP network that is used for remote users (i.e. the Easy VPN Server IP pool) to each VPN ACL 1921, but the remote user still cannot access other sites private network via the VPN site to another and vice versa.

Problem: I also have a problem with the easy VPN server, do not place a static host route in its routing table when he established a remote connection to the remote user and provides the remote user with an IP address of the VPN server's IP pool.  The VPN server does not perform this task the first time the user connects.  If the user disconnects and reconnects the router VPN Server does not have the static host route in its routing table for the new IP address given on the later connection.

    Any help is appreciated.

    THX,

    Greg

    Hello Greg,.

The ASAs require the "same-security-traffic intra-interface permits" to allow through traffic but routers allow traversed by default (is there no need for equivalent command).

Therefore, VPN clients can access A LAN but can't access the Remote LAN B on the Site to Site.

You have added the pool of the VPN client to the ACL for the interesting site to Site traffic.

You must also add the Remote LAN B to the ACL of tunneling split for VPN clients (assuming you are using split tunneling).

In other words, the VPN router configuration has for customers VPN should allow remote control B LAN in the traffic that is allowed for the VPN clients.

You can check the above and do the following test:

    1. try to connect to the remote VPN the B. LAN client

    2. check the "sh cry ips his" for the connection of the VPN client and check if there is a surveillance society being built between the pool and Remote LAN B.
