Confusion of keyboard.

I use my S10-2 primarily as a jukebox.  Imagine my surprise when I tried to go online to discover that when the SHIFT key is used to type in my email address '@' will not appear. Instead, I get a blur "-[quotation marks].  Also along the line to key in numbers there is sign sharp No. just a #.   These musical chairs are confusing me. What is the problem, more welcome advice/ideas. Thank you in advance.

You have your keyboard value US instead of UK driver. You can change it in Control Panel, the region and language - in the keyboard tab.

  • Confusion of symbol keyboard on Satellite C70-A-13U

    Hello

I own a Satellite C70-A-13U unit that has dealt with problems since purchased symbol of the nine. What I mean is that it is correct when you press a button any alphabet (symbol) still trying the same thing for other symbols such as commas, parentheses, the symbol for e-mail and more, it is possible by pressing the FN, SHIFT or CTRL keys before hand. I guess that the device has a type of configuration problem...

    Thanks for the pointers.

I don't know how much time do you have this machine, but I really wonder that you did not have a consultation with Toshiba service yet.
When you buy new notebook everything should work correctly, 100%.
All you can do is reinstall phone "settings" and check again. If the problem is there again, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • My Apple Smart Keyboard (Azerty) switches to Qwerty when I select the UK English keyboard

I bought an iPad Pro 9'7 and until yesterday, I have not used the Smart Apple, that the native Apple keyboard keyboard in IOS. I'm leaving in a country speaking French, so I'm used to the QWERTY keyboard, and the Smart QWERTY keyboard did not yet, until recently. I just bought my Smart Keyboard QWERTY, which is now available. I run immediately in the keyboard configuration problems.

With the native IOS software keyboard, I installed 3 keyboards: French, Dutch and English British and I've set up Dutch and British English for QWERTY. It has worked well. I was able to take advantage of the spell checking in all languages, while keeping the AZERTY keyboard layout. I am constantly moving between these languages, while it was important for me to be able to switch between languages, while keeping the Azerty layout

On my new Smart Azerty keyboard, I can easily switch between languages using the button 'globe' on the left side of the keyboard, but as soon as I switch to British English or Dutch, the keyboard will automatically switch to the Qwerty. I checked my settings of the iPad has not changed: Dutch and English British are always set to Azerty. If I'm getting confused now.

Of course, I could stick the french language as a framework for my keyboard, the smart keyboard would retain its built in QWERTY layout, but I would miss the spell check option.

Any suspicion, the solution or work around it?

Simply set French as the physical keyboard for English and Dutch in settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboards.

  • Accessible mini or one-handed keyboard?

    Hello

I have sensory problems, problems of coordination/proprioception and rsi.

I can't type without seeing the keyboard and my hand hit. I also trouble typing with both hands at the same time, or several fingers at the same time, although I can handle some two-three key combinations and. I also struggle to hit the right keys and avoiding the wrong ones. I stopped using a mini keyboard since she start, page up, page down and put end, next to the delete/backspace, enter, and update and keep hitting them accidentally. I can't use peripheral touch because they look, and gestures and I keep accidentally triggeing those for touch devices are not a solution.

I have been using an Adesso Mini keyboard and a mini Logitech keyboard, both of which are supported on the left side to reduce wrist fatigue.

I also tried the dictation improved and Dragon for Mac, but I have severe Hyperacusis, and I get hit with a lot of construction noise painfully hard. When I'm not getting hit, I don't want to lose precious quiet, and when I get hit, I don't want to fill the page with pain.

I've been using sticky keys, but it's a mess, it shows the keys on the screen, at the top of the screen, while I type on the keyboard and can not see the screen. Sometimes I seek and find that SHIFT or caps lock is taped, or worse yet, the command triggered something. AND MY RIGHT ARM HURTS >. And... OT again.

    Good timing...

So is it a mini keyboard accessible or a hand that allows users to know which modifier keys are in effect? I can't handle flashing but I'd probably be able to use the other lihts of the indicator.

    Hey, Marja,.

I feel your troubles, so I try as much as possible to help you. These recommendations may not work for you, and I can fully understand your situation, so just take what is useful and discard the rest.

Here is a link to where I replied to your other post sticky keys.

Re: How to use sticky keys?

When you use the sticky keys, remember that you can disable modifier buttons to not show on the screen. The only problem with it is if you do not have the sound or the sound activated option, then it can become confusing if you have an amending key in the locked position.

    • Trick. If you do not want the sound or modifier keys displayed on the screen, you can activate the keyboard Viewer, and it happen some sticky keys are hit on the keyboard. If you press shift on your actual keyboard the keyboard Viewer will display the SHIFT key.
  • Cannot switch the language layout with wireless keyboard

I do a sort of a media center for my mac mini. So far, everything is great, except for one very annoying thing. I bought this wireless keyboard and it's working great, although there is a problem with the layout language switch. When I change the input language - it is off, according to the change of language icon, if a text input is always in English. I'm quite confused and don't know if it's related to the keyboard itself or it's a question of OS (same behavior was on yosemite, before I've upgraded to el capitan)

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you talking about the little flag in the menu bar? This has nothing to do with the language itself, it has to do with keyboard layouts. Any reason you need to switch the layouts?

If you want to change the language of the menus and other system, then you must go to

System-> region and language preferences, then change the order of the languages.

  • Keyboard no longer works in the terminal until I click the mouse in the OSX terminal

Somehow the last week I have big fingers something while working in a terminal and the keyboard does not show anything when I type until I click on the mouse button.

I tried the reset command, but it does not solve the problem.

It's so weird, I don't know even how to describe correctly the problem. It should be easy to understand to describe it, as tonsillitis.

Well, last week when this happened, I killed and restarted the window. I had a running python script to try to understand what the hijacking of my accent when my accent is hijacked and tried to see if there is anything in what could give me a hint.  Then I went back to the window I tried to reset and it worked again.

Very confusing. The reset command was perhaps delayed time?

  • Satellite S70A keyboard does not not because of the update of Windows 10

Made an update of windows 10 January 13 and my keyboard no longer works on my laptop S-70's. It took the shop this afternoon and the technicians say it's a driver problem.

In other words I need a keyboard driver that works with Windows 10.

Either way, I use a USB external keyboard for this type.

This machine is only 2 years old this month and I should we not have to hunt for the drivers to operate.

I did a restore of the system to January 9, but it has not solved the problem. I am confused on this one. What follows is the updates actually.

  • Satellite on L9W - B - unrecognized keyboard dock Mini

Looks like I'm the only display on my Mini click!

I got it within a week and I just launched on this issue. My keyboard dock is not recognized. When I snaps, it recognizes the SD card, but it does not recognize the keyboard or mouse input, or battery (battery #2 absent). When I snaps, it disables key keyboard (I guess that Windows does when it detects a keyboard?) but I can't type or use the mouse for input.

The Tablet/keyboard were working right up until this morning with all aspects works as expected. It's strange because

I had updated the BIOS and applied all the updates driver, I have turned off the new (with dock attached and only) and my last attempt was to do a clean install of Windows, but none of this solves the problem.

    Any thoughts?

Now I'm confused. All of a sudden it works again! I'll leave this thread open in case there are updates. Do not hesitate at the height of your ideas on why this happened. It could have been fixed when I train (and fault) to access BIOS and I was turning works several times...

... maybe the dock (keyboard) didn't was not inserted (connected) correctly?
It's perhaps one of the possible reasons...

  • Satellite L670 - 1 L 4 - gambling with the combination keyboard/mouse problem

I have a problem in game with my keyboard/mouse combination.

    When I run it, I can't draw.
I changed the keys, mouse, connected to an external keyboard, checked drivers mouse and keyboard. Any extract, which makes me think that it is a driver/hardware problem. First time I noticed it, I thought it was a bug in the game. Now I have a new problem.

The games that I have encountered the problem: Borderlands 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2
    Satellite L670 - 1 L 4
    Windows 7 operating system
    Mouse: Trust model #16336

    Hello

As far as I know the mouse and keyboard drivers are the drivers Microsoft and Toshiba doesn't offer drivers for these devices except the driver for the touchpad to improve the touchpad options. I don t think that Toshiba is testing the feature with different games.

Confused, it's that you have noticed the same problem using the external keyboard and mouse.
Is there a possibility to test it with some older games?

  • Problem with keyboard on the Satellite Pro C660

    Hi all

I am completely confused because my keyboard has gone haywire and am pretty annoyed, that I can't fix it

Am running windows 7 on toshiba satellite laptop computer pro and I was wondering if this is a software or hardware problem.

    Here's what happens:

-Caps lock light stays no more but it flashes when I press it. It always works well
-Left SHIFT key still works, but when I press on it... it is also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. If I change U.S. keyboard then it enters the vertical BAR.
-The ~ key above the tab key doesn't do what ¬
    - And that the key to the pipe that is above the input Tape button this: #7

I updated the BIOS earlier today, but nothing helps...

Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this as its quite frustrating! Thanks for all the ideas.

    see you soon

Keyboard is controlled by a Microsoft driver that is part of the Window System.
So the story is pretty simple either your internal keyboard has failed or the keyboard on the motherboard controller does not work.

How do I know what part is affected?
It is also quite simple, you connect an external USB keyboard.
If you notice the same problems using the external keyboard, the problem is related to the keyboard controller. If you n notice any problems using the USB, the computer keyboard keyboard internal works poorly in this case has to be replaced.

  • Sudden keyboard crash (NB550D)

    Hi guys

I am confused and I hope someone can help.

Our portable keyboard mini NB550D suddenly stopped working.
We have not changed any settings or undertaken to update driver, no viruses not detected, no drops or spills.

No function keys - including the LED caps lock.
I tried to restart and access the BIOS with F2 or F12 but keyboard does not respond.

Fortunately, the buttons on the mouse and trackpad work so I went into the device (Windows 7) Manager and it indicates that the device is functioning properly.
It lists the driver as "PS/2 standard keyboard.
I did a driver update and it is up to the best driver is already installed.

I then went to DirectX Diagnostics and keyboard attached status States and no problems found.

I looked at various forums including out battery and now the power for 10 seconds and then restart - none of this worked.

Finally I resorted to the virtual keyboard, which interestingly when I select the virtual traffic key for LED lights.

I have not a spare keyboard so have not tried using a usb keyboard, but even if it works it's the internal keyboard that we want to use.

If this is a SW problem would not be the driver and Device Manager to inform us of the error?
And if it's a HW problem why does the LED light via the virtual keyboard, as well as to say that it is connected in DirectX Diagnostics.

It just went out of warranty 2 months ago so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

The laptop uses the common standard Microsoft keyboard driver so I put t think its software problem
If the external USB keyboard would be functions, then this means that the controller is OK and in most cases the internal keyboard needs to be replaced

Compatible keyboard can be ordered from local Toshiba ASP.
