  Hello

  Since my laptop (dv6 pavilion 7090el) had to be formatted for another copy of windows 7 (64-bit), I can't make the keyboard shortcuts for brightness(f2-f3) /volume(f9-f10).

  I tried to uninstall/install/software of HP Quick Launch (with all the possible combos restarting System) and software seems to not really be installed, because it appears in the Control Panel, but not anywhere else.

  Can someone help me out here?

• Pad at the top of the keyboard no longer works after installing Windows 7

  I have a cl dv7-1273.  Just changed from Vista Home Premium 64 for Windows 7 64.   Win 7 installed OK.  After you install the pad at the top of the keyboard no longer works in the dialogs like this.  When I entered the numbers here I had to use the keypad.  Keys still work in Word, Excel, Evernote, etc..

  Someone on the forum had the same problem of pad during the upgrade to win 8.  They solved the problem by uninstalling Comcast constant guard.   I removed a constant guard and now my keypad work.  Is there something in constant guard that is in conflict with the keys from HP laptop during upgrade to Win 7 or 8 Win.

  Sounds like keyboard problem.
  The operating system uses the pilot to clean keyboard and generally it s not necessary to reinstall the special keyboard driver.
  But one thing is really strange; the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager

  Eventually it s only a problem of software in such a case, a system restore can be useful...

  Have you checked if the keyboard works in the BIOS?
  Do this!

  If the keyboard does not work in the BIOS, then you will need to replace the internal keyboard with the new.

  Try the keyboard on another Mac or PC. If it still fails, you know the keyboard is broken. You can also try the keyboard when it is started in recovery as a basic test mode. That will tell you if the keyboard works well when a single copy of the operating system is running without all your installed applications.

  Select the option to browse the web to try the keyboard in Safari in recovery mode.

  If the device is 2010, you should seek to buy a new device, otherwise if it is new & still in warranty, return it to the store or the manufacturer.

  Try to clear the data from the application.

  Menu > settings > apps > all > Xperia keyboard > clear data

  This should help to clear incorrect data.

  Several times a day my keyboard no longer meets all the keystrokes or sometimes double on strikes. I can type a sentence and find only the occasional shows on the screen or more characters I typed (e.g. "character" indicates "cacter" or "ccchaaraccterr"). At first, I thought it was the batteries in the keyboard, but have lost a few sets of batteries, I found that out the receiver to the USB port and plug it into another port works for maybe an hour or two, and then it happens again.  Putting the receiver into the original USB port solved the problem again.   We had a few HP 1020 and 1040: models recently, and all have the same question. When the laptop is connected, the external keyboard does not work in the form of Bitlocker. It works in the BIOS and in Windows itself, but not in Bitlocker. This means that we must open the laptop screen to enter the Bitlocker pin, then let it open and GPO that dictates the computer into hibernation when the lid is closed. We have twisted the GPO, but in vain. Anyone else seen elsewhere or a solution?

  If the bios is up to date, I would look at the BIOS settings. I think that Fast Boot is enabled in your case, this may cause usb devices not to see in the stadium that BitLocker requires

  I'm afraid that a USB keyboard does not work with the 7 Slate (the port's loading and transfer of files with a PC). At least, I have not seen anyone successfully and a USB keyboard in the forums.
